Mary Alma (Collins) Palmer, 83 year-old, former Seminole resident passed from this life on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at Colonial Estates Care Center in Shawnee, Okla.
Mary was born July 3, 1929 in Snowmac, Okla. (just south of Seminole, Okla.) to parents Minnie Maybelle (King) and Buford Yeager.
Mary met and later married Marland Davis Palmer, Sr. on Dec. 14, 1945 in Maud, Okla.
She went on to earn her x-ray technician degree from Southwest State University and worked for Seminole Municipal Hospital in Seminole and later at Morton County General Hospital in Elkhart, Kans. until her retirement in 1987.
Sadly her husband of 48 years preceded her in death in January of 1993.
Mary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart, Kans.
She moved back to Seminole County in 2003 from El Reno, Okla. where she had been caring for her niece who had brain cancer.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Marland Palmer, Jr. and his wife Dianna of Maud, Okla.; one daughter, Mary Gee of Prague, Okla.; one step-daughter, Donna Lou Harrington of Washington State; three half brothers, Morris Yeager of Tennessee, James Yeager of Maud, Glen Yeager of California; four grandsons, Rev. James T. Benedict and his wife Freda, Gerald Doyle and his wife Christy, Alex Semkoff, David Palmer; five great granddaughters; four great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marland Davis Palmer, Sr. who died in January of 1993; one brother, Clinton Eugene Collins; and by one sister, Helen Maybelle Harris.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Tony Palmer
Tony M. Palmer, Jr. age 64 of Wewoka, OK passed away in Shawnee, Okla., on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013.
Tony was born July 6, 1948 to Tony Palmer Sr. and Molsie (Alexander) Palmer of Sasakwa, Okla.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tony Palmer Sr, and a sister, Donna Fay.
Survivors include his mother, Molsie Palmer; two sisters, Tanya Bower and husband Steve of Oklahoma City, and Symathia Hooper of Sasakwa.
Tony was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma Fushutche Band.
He attended Crosspoint Church in Ada, Okla. He loved the Lord and enjoyed reading his Bible.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Moppin officiating and burial will follow at the Palmer Family Cemetery, southeast of Sasakwa.
Pall bearers will be Cory Groves, Donnie Groves Jr., Steve Bower, Scott Hill, Jason Claytor, and Eric Chaffin.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Joe Gatewood, Harry Claytor, Toby Perkins, Joe Coon, George Postoak, James Chaffin, and Roy McConnell.

Anna A. Parker
Anna A. Parker of Wewoka went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning September 30, 2013 at her residence in Wewoka, at the age of 97 years. Born July 9, 1916 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to the late William R. Jones and Lillie Shropshire Jones.
Mrs. Parker attended Bearden school and was a member of Wewoka Church of Christ. She loved to garden, sew, cook, bake, and spend time with her family. She married Dallas R. Parker October 12, 1935 in Holdenville, Okla., and to this union three children were born.
Preceding Anna in death are her parents, husband Dallas ( December 2001), sons-in-law Bob Morgan, and Ianos Chaffin; brothers and sisters Marvin Jones, Norman Jones, R.C. Jones, Zelmer Jones, Elmer Jones, Vera Patrick, and Letha Jones.
Survivors include her three children Ladean Morgan of Wewoka, Okla., Elaine Chaffin of Wewoka, Okla., and Dwight Parker and wife Annette of Grandfield, Okla.: Grandchildren Denise Byrd and husband Tom, Joey Yahola, Mike Morgan, David Yahola, and wife Patricia, Richard Yahola and wife Robyn, Geoff Parker, and Jenny Parker; Step-grandchildren Janice Chaffin, James and Toni Chaffin; Great-grandchildren Ashlee Alford and husband Kevin, Emily Byrd, J.R. Morgan, Kristen Morgan, Jace Yahola, Jordan Reiter and husband Kenneth, Ryan Yahola, Riley Yahola, Reagan Yahola, and Kalyn Lytle. Great-great-grandchildren Kody Reiter, Caleb Reiter, Cason Reiter, Sarah Reiter, Colson Reiter, Carson Edwards, Caitlyn Edwards, Eric Chaffin, Brian Chaffin, Braden Chaffin, and Savannah Chaffin; Brother Tom Jones, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pall Bearers will be Grandson Joey Yahola, Mike Morgan, David Yahola, Richard Yahola, J.R. Morgan, and Tom Byrd.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Wewoka Church of Christ, with Dwight Parker and Aaron Alsbrook officiating, and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Arthur Parker
Arthur William Parker, age 75 and a resident of Konawa, Okla. died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 at Jan Frances Care Center in Ada, Okla.
No memorial service is planned at this time, and cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
He was born Oct. 26, 1937 in Conway Mich. to Arthur Carl Parker and Florence Irene (Tucker) Parker.
He married Beverly Gay Lawton on July 17, 1982 in Austin, Tex.
Arthur retired as a career airplane mechanic and Tech-sergeant for the United States Air Force. His military career lasted from 1961 until retirement in 1978.
He is survived by two brothers, Ralph Parker and David Parker; one sister, Linda Miller; and one step-sister, Barbara Honeycutt of Konawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Florence Parker and by his step-mother, Ethel Parker.
Gregory Parker
Gregory Van "Greg" Parker was born in Eureka, Kans. on Nov. 29, 1960 to Van and Claudene (Bleeker) Parker. He was the oldest of four children.
During his early childhood, his family lived in several different places, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia.
His family moved to Cromwell, Okla. when he was in seventh grade and he graduated from Butner High School in 1979.
Greg married his high school sweetheart, Jerri Lynn (Fuller), on June 18, 1979 in Miami, Okla. They made their home in Cromwell.
Together, they had five children who were always encouraged to pursue their education and passions for life.
Greg earned an associate’s degree from Seminole State College in 2006 and was pursuing a degree in computer science from Tulsa Community College at the time of his death.
Greg worked from 1984-1995 at Hayes Axle in Seminole as a computer draftsman.
He was a member of the Seminole Elks Lodge and served as the Exalted Ruler in 1992.
He worked for the next 17 years at Electronic Storage Corporation in Tulsa, as a computer systems engineer.
Greg was actively involved in local politics and ran for State Representative in 2004 and 2006.
He volunteered for the Oklahoma Food Co-op as a computer software developer and he enjoyed helping with the family business, G-J All Natural Beef.
The family was recognized as Seminole County’s Farm Family of the Year in 2009.
Greg loved woodworking and built many treasured pieces for his family.
He liked to cheer on his children and grandchildren at their various sporting events and activities, play guitar, and ride his motorcycle.
He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.
Greg loved to travel. He had visited all 50 states and several different countries.
He was an advanced certified scuba diver and made several guest appearances to Strother Elementary School as "Scuba Greg".
Greg died on Jan. 4, 2013 in Tulsa.
His funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ at Seminole on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Greg’s former high school friends, Ernie Broom, Mike Davis, Billy Douglas, Glenn Swafford, Brad Welch, and Ed Wesley.
Officiating will be Chris Stinnett and the song service will be lead by Arpoika Daniels.
Greg will be laid to rest in Little Cemetery.
Greg was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sherman and Myrtle (Lasiter) Parker; maternal grandmother, Agnes (Bleeker) Churchill; father, Jesse "Van" Parker; and brother, Gary Todd Parker.
Greg is survived by the love of his life, Jerri (Fuller) Parker; daughter, Tabitha Jo Ann (Parker) Green and husband Justin of Cromwell; son, Kevan Wendell Parker and wife Cortney (Smith) of Norman; son Stevan Gregory Parker and wife Lilah (Lowry) of Ada; daughter Kailyn Elizabeth Parker and fiancé Zachary Davis of Ada; and son, Calvan Doran Parker of Cromwell.
He also had three precious grandchildren: Kellen Andrew Green, Chance Austin Green, and Ricci Marie Parker.
Greg is also survived by his mother, Claudene Parker of Haskell; brother, Mark Allen Parker of Talala, Okla.; brother, Kelly Dean Parker of Haskell, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family of Greg Parker would like to thank everyone for the prayers, thoughts, and all other acts of kindness during this time of sorrow.
Bonnie Parks
Bonnie Lee (Fortner) Grisso Parks, 91, longtime Seminole resident and educator, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Shawnee, Okla., where she had lived for the past seven years.
Bonnie Lee was born May 7, 1921 in Cleora, Okla. to Walter Slaten and Margaret (Axley) Fortner.
Bonnie Lee was a longtime educator in the Seminole Public School system. She first taught elementary education after she graduated from Oklahoma University in 1955.
After teaching in the class room she became Director of Elementary Education, and later a school principal at Woodrow Wilson and Lincoln schools in Seminole.
She also attended Seminole Junior College before going to Oklahoma University.
Bonnie Lee was active in speech and debate at Seminole High School and was a part of a national championship debate team; graduating from Seminole High School in 1939.
She was a longtime member of the Seminole Church of Christ, where she was very active, and taught Sunday school for many years.
She was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association and Seminole County Retired Teachers Association. She retired from education in 1983.
Bonnie Lee loved to travel, and had traveled to all 50 States and 15 foreign countries.
She also loved stamp collecting.
Bonnie Lee was married to Wayne Alden Grisso who preceded her in death on June 25, 1983.
She later married Bill Parks on June 28, 1994 in Seminole, Okla. and he preceded her in death on March 21, 2006.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Alden Grisso Jr. and Judy Grisso of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, June Driver of Houston, Tex.; two sisters-in-law, Ella Ruth Fortner of Duncan, Okla. and Pauline Grisso Martin of Coalgate, Okla.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Wayne A. Grisso III, Kristi Lea Barnett, Heath Aaron Grisso, Shelli Dawn Reding and Darci Noel Thompson; thirteen great grandchildren, Ricci Reding, Reid Reding, Morgan Lea Barnett, Slayten Wayne Barnett, Autumn Layne Barnett, Grayson Eli Grisso, Gatlin Levi Grisso, Gabreill Elizabeth Grisso, Graci Isabella Grisso, Cooper Aaron Grisso, Kate Grisso and Tinley Thompson.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Seminole Church of Christ on north highway 99 with Chris Stinnett and her son Wayne Alden Grisso, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Trace Grisso, Heath Grisso, Jimmy Barnett, James Reding, Mark Thompson, Slayten Barnett and Reid Reding.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
