Donald Allen Rocha, a resident of Cromwell, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Cromwell, Okla. at the age of 56.
He was born Dec. 2, 1956 in Scotia, Calif. to Valentine Nunes Rocha and Lucille (Corder).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Rocha, and two brothers, Danny and Clifford Rocha.
Donald is survived by his wife Cindy Rocha of the home; son, Kenny Rocha of Okemah; son, Allen Rocha of Cromwell; grandchildren, Trinity Rocha, Logan Rocha, Payton Anaya, Destiny Rocha, and Briana Rocha; father, Valentine Nunes Rocha; brothers, Gene Rocha and wife, Kathy of Oregon, Dennis Anderson of Oregon, and Bob Anderson of California, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 3:00 pm, the United Pentecostal Church in Okemah with Brother Randy Clark, officiating.

Velma Rochelle
Funeral services for Velma Mae Rochelle will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Pastor Monte Wike officiating.
She was born May 16, 1927 in Dustin, Okla. to Frank Bumgarner and Mary Josephine (Tucker) Burns.
She died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in Norman.
She married John Albert "Jay" Rochelle in July of 1973 in Madill, Okla.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Deborah Gribble-Fly and Lora Radford; one sister, Helen Ivy; and four brothers, Leroy, David, Larry and Jimmy Bumgarner.
She grew up in Wetumka, where she attended school.
Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Withers of Seminole, Mary Eldred of Sulphur, Gail Edington of Norman and Lana Barton of Sulphur; two sons, Jim Radford of Seminole and Mike Radford of Elmore City; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brother, Lonny Bumgarner of Okemah; sisters, Lois Chappels of Shawnee, June Cox of Cromwell, Noma Wike of Colorado City, Tex., Claudine Bower, Evelyn Robbins, Jeanette Yingling and Jo Nelson.
Service’s are entrusted to Hale’s Funeral Home in Sulphur, Okla.
Reba Rogers
Memorial services for Reba "Miss Reba" Rogers, 88, of Konawa are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Konawa United Methodist Church, Rev. Roger Wood will officiate.
A Private burial service will be held at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada at a later time.
Mrs. Rogers died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at a Shawnee nursing home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1925 in Ada, Okla. to William Otis and Bessie M. Pettet Jones.
She attended Ada schools.
She married Edward H. Rogers in 1940. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Rogers apprenticed with her Aunt Gladys Kilpatrick, of Gladys’ Beauty Salon, then worked for her for many years.
In the sixties, Reba opened her own beauty salon in her home in Ada. Later, she and her family moved to Konawa, where she owned and operated her own salon until 2008.
She was a 60 year member of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology.
In 2003, she was recognized for her many contributions to the City of Konawa.
Survivors include a sister, Anna Bea J. Morgan of Palm Desert, Calif.; her sister-in-law, Ila Jones of Reno, Nev.; a cousin, Mrs. Peter S. Durso of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family, Jerry Davis, Jeff and Tina Davis and Connor Davis, all of Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Lillie Mae Jones; her husband; a brother, Roy Lee Jones; her son, Larry Rogers in 1980; and extended family member, Patricia Davis in 2012.
Honorary bearers will be Wimpy Poston, Carl "Edd" Wyatt, Jerry Davis, Jeff Davis and Connor Davis.
Criswell Funeral Home of Ada is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Joe Roulston, Jr.

Joe Riley Roulston, Jr., 58, resident of Asher, Okla. died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, and burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Ed George will officiate.
Pallbearers are Rob Doolen, John White, John Merrell, Byron Cole, Reuben Brewer, Hiram Roulston, and Thad Roulston.
He was born Dec. 17, 1954 in Konawa to Joe R. Roulston, Sr. and Helen (Gaines) Roulston.
He graduated from Sasakwa High School and worked as a diesel mechanic for Coal County Maintenance.
He is survived by three daughters, Kim McDonald of Sasakwa, Jodi Lee of Sasakwa, and Heather Coslow of Coalgate, Okla.; three step-sons, Danny English and Johnny English, both of Coalgate, and John Merrell, Jr. of Sasakwa; three brothers, Ed Hailey and Herbert Hailey, both of Oklahoma City, and Jay Roulston of Moore, Okla.; one sister, Loretta Cole of Asher, and fourteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Roulston; and one brother, Charles Hailey.
Gary Roy
Gary Lynn Roy, Seminole, died on Thursday, February 21st, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 49 years.
Gary was born to Antoine and Anna Charty Roy on July 4th, 1963 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He attended Butner Schools and later became a self employed construction worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother; Antoine Roy Jr. and a sister; Roberta Tiger.
Gary is survived by his sisters; Debbie Waldo of the home, Rosa Whisman of Pryor, OK, and Allison Puller of Seminole, brothers; Morris Roy of OKC, and Twin Brother; Larry Roy of Ponca City, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday February 25, 2013 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, South of Wewoka with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Interment will follow at High Springs Cemetery in Konawa, OK.
Pallbearers are: Daniel Johnson, Gary Horne, Rickey Mauk, Anthony Mauk, Sean Millican, and Frank Coachman.
Honorary Bearers are: Larry Roy and Morris Roy.
Melba Rumsey
Melba Lee Rumsey passed from this life surrounded by family, early Saturday morning, March 2, 2013.
Services will be at The Little Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Mark Hennen, chapel for Faith Hospice will officiate. Grave side at Little will follow.
She was born in Bakersfield, Mo., July 7, 1925.
She and her family moved to Seminole when she was a child.
Melba was the youngest of eight siblings.
She married Melford Leon Rumsey on Feb. 1, 1947.
Not long after marriage, they opened their first gas station on the corner of 9&99. Over the next 32 years, they owned two gas stations, a quick stop, and the Dairy Boy.
Melba is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers; and great grandson, Ethan March.
She is survived a daughter, Kathryn Dawson of New Braunfels, Tex.; two sons, Tommy Rumsey of Shawnee, Keith Rumsey of Eufaula; granddaughters, Jamelyn Burris, Megan Longest, Jillian Meek, Angie Bailey, Allyson Marsh, Brooke Demers, Shanna Lovelace; grandson, Chris Rumsey; and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Ronny Rush
Ronny Rush, 60 of Newcastle died Monday, July 15, 2013 at his home.
He was born July 15, 1953 in Wewoka, Okla. to Vester Rush and Virginia (Loftis).
He grew up in the Oklahoma City area and later served two years in the National Guard.
On Sept. 3, 1972, he married Margaret Kimbrel.
He had a lifelong career as a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vester Rush; and one brother, Larry Rush.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Rush of the home in Newcastle; mother, Virginia Rush of Oklahoma City, sons, Tommy Rush of Stroud, Jesse Rush of Oklahoma City; one brother, Vester Rush of Norman; four sisters, Carolyn Cole of Atoka, Jackie Chancellor of Oklahoma City, Barbara Jackson of Oklahoma City, Renee James of Drumright; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.
The committal service will be 2:00 p.m. at Little Cemetery North of Seminole.
Arrangements are with Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.
Betty Salcedo
Former Konawa and Vamoosa resident Betty Lou Ivey Salcedo passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at her home in Fairfield, Calif. at the age 83 years, seven months.
She was born July 3, 1929 at Vamoosa to Mary and Walter Ivey.
She graduated from Vamoosa High School in 1949.
After graduating she worked at the State Capital in Oklahoma City until joining the Army.
Stationed in Okinawa, she met and married Manuel Salcedo. They were married for 58 years.
Living and working in San Francisco until retirement, they eventually moved to Fairfield, Calif.
She was a teacher’s aid in a grade school teaching arts and crafts.
Betty and Manuel had three boys, David Salcedo of the home, Daniel and Linda Salcedo of Chico, Calif., and Gregory and Rose Salcedo of San Francisco, Calif.
Her great love was making her own greeting cards for family and friends, and pillows decorated for everyone.
She is survived by husband, Manuel of the home; sons, David, Daniel and Gregory; one brother, Jim Ivey and wife Sue of Konawa; nephews, Kevin and Edna Ivey of Ada, Jeffrey and Sheri Ivey of Hughes Springs, Tex.; nieces, Jennifer Ivey of Sherman, Tex., Teri Ivey Stanberry of Bonhom, Tex., Cheri and Randy Ivey Stanfill of Seminole; two great nephews; two great nieces; great great three boys and two girls; cousins and other family members also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; one brother, A.L. "Babe" Ivey and wife Clania Faye.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
