Redman Spencer

Long time Wewoka resident, Redman Louis Spencer died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Okemah, Okla. at the age of 53.

He was born Nov. 11, 1959 in Wewoka, Okla. to John and Alice "Harjo" Spencer.

He attended Eufaula Schools and later worked as a roofer.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Floyd Harjo, Cloyd Harjo, Richmond Spencer, David Spencer and sisters; Diana Spencer, Mary Beaver, and Elsie Harjo.

Survivors include his sister, Ruby Hill of Okemah.

Wake service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday March 20, 2013, at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church, Wewoka.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 21, 2013 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Jimsey Harjo officiating.

Pallbearers are Mike Spencer, Shawn Spencer, Dakota Hill, Richard Cotton, Curtis Scott, and Daniel Moppin.

Honorary bearers are Thomas Beaver, Tommy Beaver and Daniel Spencer.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Richard Spencer

Richard Vernon Spencer, 94, lifelong Seminole resident died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 in Seminole.

Vernon was born Sept. 24, 1918 at the top of the hill on Reid Street in Seminole to James Lynn and Maude (Barton) Spencer, his grandparents D.C. and Phonie Barton raised Vernon.

Vernon married Maxine Beal in Sulphur, Okla. on May 11, 1941; she preceded him in death on May 22, 1997.

Vernon served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II as a sergeant in the 3630 Quartermaster Truck Company.

He served during the war campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe and received the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, American Theater Ribbon and the European Theater Ribbon with three bronze stars.

After the service, Vernon worked as a shop foreman for Chemical Process Company and later B.J. Hughes.

After retiring from B.J. Hughes, he worked as an oilfield truck driver for Joe Tolbert Trucking Company in Seminole.

Vernon loved and enjoyed being with his family, watching the "Cubbies" Chicago Cubs baseball, eating Snickers candy bars and most of all loved Christmas.

Vernon is survived by his daughter, Sylvia Susie Newman of Seminole; his son, Richard Spencer and his wife Janet of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his grandsons, David Perry and his wife Melissa, Daryle Spencer and his wife Brijette, and Daryn Spencer; and great-grandchildren Maddie Perry, Zach Perry, Justin Spencer and Allison Spencer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be David Perry, Daryle Spencer, Daryn Spencer, Scott Douthit, Bobbie Douthit and John Hill.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Jack Stach

Jack Dwaine Stach, 86, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 in Seminole.

He was born Feb. 2, 1927 in Seminole to John and Donnie Stach.

He married Loneva Stach and they made their home in Hobbs, N.M. where he worked for Amoroda.

In 1963, he and Loneva bought a farm in Seminole where they lived until his death.

He worked at Tinker Field as an aircraft mechanic and retired in 1974.

He loved farming. He also loved spending time at their lake home in Eufaula where he spent countless hours fishing.

Jack was a merchant marine in WWII and a 32nd degree Mason of the Seminole Lodge.

He belonged to Highway Baptist Church in Seminole.

He is survived by Loneva Stach of the home; daughter, Kaye Reeves and her husband, John Reeves of Seminole; grandchildren, Joe and Amanda Follett of Seminole, Doug and Deedra Ward of Clinton, Okla. and John and Kourtney Reeves of Woodward, Okla.; great grandchildren, Joshua Follett, Allyson Follett, Brooklyn Follett, Josiah Follett, Emileigh Follett, Jeremiah Follett, Miriam Ward, Madison Ward and Mylee Ward, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John and Donnie Stach; brother, Bill Stach; and niece, Vicki Ann Stach.

Pall bearers will be John Reeves, J.J. Reeves, Joe Follett, Doug Ward, John Henson, and Steven Stach.

Funeral services will be at Resthaven Funeral Services on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and burial will also be at Resthaven in Shawnee. Carl Whitfield and Slim Crabtree will officiate.

Loneva Stach

Loneva Marie Stach, 81, longtime Seminole resident died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at her home in Seminole, Okla.

Loneva was born April 30, 1932 in Snomac, Okla. to L.R. and Lora Jane (Sampson) Barton.

She married Jack Stach on Jan. 1, 1953 and they made their home in Hobbs, N.M. where she did clerical work.

She was a member of the Highway Baptist Church in Seminole, Okla.

In 1963, she and Jack bought a farm in Seminole where they lived the rest of their lives.

Jack preceded her in death in July of 2013.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved farming with her husband Jack and loved to visit their lake home at Lake Eufaula where they spent most of their summers fishing and relaxing.

Most of all she had a great love for her family and especially her great grandchildren. She was known to all as mom, granny and mema.

Loneva is survived by one daughter, Kay Reeves and her husband, John of Seminole; three grandchildren, Amanda Follett and her husband, Joe of Seminole, Deedra Ward and her husband, Doug of Clinton, Okla., John Reeves, Jr. and his wife, Kourtney of Seminole; great-grandchildren, Joshua Follett, Allyson Follett, Brooklyn Follett, Josiah Follett, Emileigh Follett, Jeremiah Follett, Miriam Ward, Madison Ward and Mylee Ward.

One sister Barbara McMahon of Shawnee, Okla. and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends also survive her.

Her parents; her husband, Jack Stach; one brother; and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the Highway Baptist Church, north of Seminole with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Okla.

Casket bearers will be John Reeves, John Reeves, Jr., Joe Follett and Doug Ward.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Angie Stafford

Angie Lorene Stafford, lifelong Seminole resident passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 90.

Lorene was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Fanshaw, Okla. to parents, Luther F. Goss and Dora Alice (Keifer) Goss.

Lorene attended New Hope School in Seminole County and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Seminole.

Lorene married Wallace Edward "Pat" Stafford on Aug. 18, 1941 in Wewoka.

Lorene was employed at Big Yank, Wrangler, cook at Seminole Public Schools and a homemaker.

Lorene is survived by her husband, Wallace "Pat" Stafford; one son, Glenn Stafford and his wife Loretta of Hot Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Wanda Callison and her husband Tom of Holdenville.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Tammi Rich and her husband, Kevin, Angi Watters and her husband Lewie and Jeremy Stafford and his wife Candy; 10 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephew; eight sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dee L. Baldwin and Sandy Powell.

Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Seminole. Pastor Marvin Kehl and Matt Pollock will be officiating.

Burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Serving as casket bearers are Andrew Watters, Mason Watters, Zane Watters, Jason Stafford, Jordan Stafford, Jeremy Stafford, Duane Nance and Kobe Nance.

Services under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, 1001 N. Milt Phillips in Seminole.
