Alexander Warren ‘Alex’ Yahola died in Holdenville on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the age of 41.
He was born to Annie Ruth Yahola on Nov. 23, 1972, in Wewoka, Okla.
He was brought up in Wewoka and attended Yeager schools.
He worked for a short while in the medical field as a CMA until he became physically disabled.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Yahola.
He is survived by one brother, Charles Marshall, of Midwest City.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home’s Lillye Chapel, and laid to rest in the Yeager Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tim Postoak, Jeff Powell, Jason Yahola, Frank Yahola, Richmond Tiger, and Louis Yahola Jr.
Wake will be Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Lillye Chapel.
Services are under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Russell Yancey
Russell Clay Yancey passed this life on Feb. 26, 2013 in Seminole, Okla.
He was born in Oklahoma City on Feb. 21, 1964.
He attended Bowlegs High School and graduated as a registered nurse from Seminole State College.
He leaves behind two sons, Clayton and Cole Yancey; his parents, Carl "Bo" and Winnie Yancey; one sister, Kathy Rosamond; one niece; two nephews; and three great nephews.
After cremation, graveside services will be held.
Vernon Yancey
Vernon Elwood Yancey, life long Seminole resident, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 in Seminole at the age of 86.
He was born July 31, 1927 in Seminole, Okla. to Richard Alonzo Yancey and Lilly Loraine (Ross) Yancey.
He married Mildred Lucille (Brown) Yancey in Shawnee, Okla. on Oct. 20, 1945.
He worked in construction plumbing and in the oil field before retiring in 1971.
He lived in Roswell, N.M. from 1952 to 1961 before moving back to Seminole.
He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Eads of Kallispell, Mont., Vickie Yancey of Seminole and Anna Choate of Seminole; four brothers Carl Yancey, Bobbie Yancey, Don Yancey and Clint Yancey and one sister Mary Allen; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lilly Yancey; his wife, Mildred Yancey; one brother; and two sisters.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole with Clint Yancey officiating.
Serving as casket bearers are Jimmy Choate, Jr., Elijah Choate, Kenneth Downey, Al Roberts, Ryan Harris and Chester Phillips.

Dennis Yeubanks
Funeral services for Rev. Dennis Joe Yeubanks will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Highway Baptist Church in Little, Okla. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery.
Dennis Joe Yeubanks was born Nov. 15, 1945 in Great Bend, Kan. to Truel Yeubanks and Gladys (Weathers) Yeubanks.
He passed away, Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at his home in Cromwell at the age of 67.
Dennis had been a longtime resident of the Cromwell area.
He and Barbara Kinslow were married Sept. 25, 1965 in Lyons, Kan.
Dennis began his pasturing career at the Highway Baptist Church in Little. He later was the pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dustin and at the Skyview Baptist Church in Okemah before retirement.
Dennis was an involved member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and former oil producer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Connie Yeubanks Unruh; one daughter, Kendra Yeubanks Ingraham and one granddaughter, Tia Dawn Ingraham.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Yeubanks of Cromwell; three sons, Corey Yeubanks of Earlsbobo, Clay Yeubanks and wife Stacie of Seminole and Clint Yeubanks of Bearden; one son in law, Richard Ingraham of Abilene, Tex.; one daughter, Kelli Yeubanks of the home; one brother, Darrell Yeubanks and wife Cynthia of Anderson, Mo.; three sisters, Karen Royer of Sacramento, Calif., Cherine Ward of Hays, Kan. and Cherry Smyth of Ellenwood, Kan. and seven grandchildren, Recie Ingraham, Payton Ingraham, Brittney Yeubanks, Josiah Yeubanks, Madison Yeubanks, Hunter Yeubanks and Reagan Yeubanks.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Richard Ingraham, Randy Collier, Clifford Nichols, Corey Yeubanks, Clay Yeubanks and Clint Yeubanks.
Honorary bearers will be Gene Coats and Loy Collier.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Carl Whitfield and Rev. Charles Jones.
Family will greet friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Norma Yoesel
Norma Aileen Yoesel, 89, longtime former Seminole resident died, Thursday April 17, 2013 in Muskogee, Okla.
Norma was born Jan. 13, 1924 in St. Joseph, Mo. to George and Agnes Lidy (Keller) Mann.
Norma moved to Seminole in January of 1964 from Arkansas City, Kans.
She was a homemaker and attended the First Christian Disciple Church in Seminole, Okla.
Norma married her high school sweetheart, Alvin Yoesel on March 20, 1945 in Hiawatha, Kans.; they had known each other since 1938.
Norma is survived by her husband of 68 years, Alvin Yoesel of Checotah, Okla.; her daughters Sondra Aquilar and her husband Mike of Shelbyville, Ill., Joyce Allen and her husband Dewey of Shawnee, Okla. and Ivona Watson and her husband Larry of Las Vegas, Nev. Her sister Winifred Woodruff of Kansas, seven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren also survive her.
Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Okla.
Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is in charge of arrangements.
Luann Black
Luann Black was born Aug. 7, 1932 in Seminole to August and Loraine Rooker Harris.
Luann passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 in Jenks. She was 80 years of age.
Luann grew up in Seminole and graduated from Varnum High School. She attended Oklahoma State University.
Luann was united in marriage to Max Black on Nov. 29, 1952.
She was employed as secretary for the Jenks Public School system for several years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, cross-stitch, cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Luann was an avid reader.
She was a member of the first Christian Church of Jenks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Paul, Junior, and Bob.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Black of Jenks; daughter, Teresa and husband Art Tyndall of Jenks; brother, J.D. Harris and wife Mary of Seminole; sister, Carolyn and husband Junior Evans of Seminole; sister-in-laws, Mary Harris of Wilburton. and Sue Harris of Liberty, TX; five grandchildren, Stephen, Trent, and Brett Tyndall, Bryce and Audrey Black, along with two she loved as grandchildren, Beth and John.
Private services were held in Jenks.
Florena Blackwood
Florena Gale (Farley) Blackwood, age 88 died Friday, Feb 17, 2012, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha.
Florena was born May 9, 1923, in Louisville, Kansas, to James Henry Farley and Jenettie Jane (Holloway) Farley.
She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Konawa.
Florena married Wincle Allen Flowers in Farris, Oklahoma in July, 1939.
She married Oral Brown "Blackie" Blackwood in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on Aug 9, 1952.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Jenettie Farley; husbands, Wincle Flowers and Oral Blackwood; two brothers and two sisters; three children, Florena "Sue" Blackwood Graham, Jerry Ray Flowers, and Don Allen Flowers; two grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Survivors include five children, Elva (Flowers) Moore, James L. Flowers, Jackie W. Flowers, Ramona (Blackwood) Soos, and Thelma (Blackwood) Collinsworth; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 22, 2012, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church located at 126 N. Konawa St. in Konawa, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Rev. Mona Fulks will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery in Wanette, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Jackie W. Flowers, Thomas G. Flowers, Thomas J. Payne, Andy R. Smith, Michael J. Smith, and John A. Soos.
Edva Bland
Edva Lou (Shields) Bland, 90 year-old longtime, Seminole County resident passed from this life Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 in Shawnee.
She was born Feb. 20, 1922 in Holdenville to parents, Johnnie Elmer Shields and Myrtle Ann (Morphis) Shields.
On May 7, 1940, Edva married William Edgar "Bill" Bland in Okemah. He preceded her in death in February 2005.
Edva had worked for Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City until her retirement in 1987.
Mrs. Bland leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Billy Bland (Ouida) of Shawnee, Bobby Bland (Carol) of Maud and Jimmy Bland (Cheryl) of Choctaw; six daughters, Linda Horn of Choctaw, Lou Ellen Mullings (Wayne) of Maud, Patty Bland of Seminole, Peggy Huff (Eugene) of Choctaw, Charlotte Gregory (Tony) of McLoud, and Pamela Goodin (Jimmy) of Davis; one sister, Nina Hassell (Don) of Wewoka; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Edva is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Myrtle Shields; her husband of almost 65 years, William "Bill" Bland; one brother, Horace Shields; one daughter-in-law, Anna Bland; and by one son-in-law, Bob Horn.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Holdenville City Cemetery.
Casket Bearers will be Dwayne Bland, Lance Bland, Robbie Horn, Jimmy Bland, Tracy Mullings, Scott Goodin, Phillip Goodin, Casey Goodin and Tony Gregory.
