Lena Dora Rawls Bradley passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 in Holdenville at the age of 82.
Lena was born Feb. 26, 1930 in Leedy, Okla. to John and Wilma (Caudle) Richardson.
She attended St. Louis Schools and spent her life as a hairdresser and bookkeeper for the Leta M. Chapman Estate (X-Bar Ranch).
She moved to Holdenville in 1973 from Lamont, Okla.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, loved country music, dancing, gardening, flowers, fishing and being with family and friends.
Survivors include Sam F. Bradlley of Holdenville, children; Dock and Darla Rogers of Crane, Texas, Ralph and Gina Morrison of Seminole, Ray (Butch) Rawls Jr. of Holdenville.
Brothers and Sisters; Buster and Theda Richardson, Ruth Lewis, Larry and Leoma Himes, Shirley Marcellos, Dan and Laverne Whittern, Johnny and Wanda Richardson, Ronnie and Virginia Richardson, Mike and Mary Kay Richardson.
Grandchildren; Curt Rawls, Ali Rawls, Bobby Morrison, and Amber Morrison and many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by Ray W. Rawls, one sister, Wanda Etchieson.
Pallbearers are Kerry Wilson, Perry Wilson, Ralph Morrison, Dock Rogers, James Alexander, and Terry Hawk.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Rettig will officiate. Interment will be at the Tecumseh Cemetery in Tecumseh.
Services under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home.
Daniel Wesley Bradley
Daniel Wesley Bradley, age 95 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his home in Ada, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Rev. Bob Payne will officiate.
Daniel was born on May 31, 1916 in Konawa to George Bradley and Ellen (Seay) Bradley. He married Kathryn Richards on April 6, 1940 in Konawa. He was a truck driver for the oilfield industry.
He is survived by one son, Larry Don and Nancy Bradley of Meeker, Oklahoma; and one daughter, Nita Ruth Bradley of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Lynaea and Michael McGee of Ada, Sarah and Matt Lynch of Meeker, Sally and Brandon Fuller of Weatherford, Lindsay and Shawn Morgan of Tecumseh, and Chase Coleman of Tecumseh; seven great-grandchildren, Austin and Jaden McGee of Ada, Ajay and Brooklyn Lynch of Meeker, Jonathan and Ryder Fuller of Weatherford, and Woodrow Morgan of Tecumseh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ellen Bradley; his wife, Kathryn Bradley; one son, Danny Bradley; four brothers and six sisters
Nora Brenner
Nora Laverne (Bussey) Brenner, age 71 and a former resident of Maud, died at her home in Midland, Texas on Thursday, Jan 19, 2012.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 22, 2012 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud. Frank Brewer will officiate. Visitation is 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 21 at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
Nora was born on Feb 13, 1940 in Maud, to William Franklin Bussey and Anna Lucille (Works) Bussey.
She married Eddie Brenner, and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Vance Everett Kain of Midland, Texas; three daughters, Lavada Millsap of Heber Springs, Arkansas, Eva Mayden of Midland, Texas, and Linda Adams also of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Mike Bussey of Maud, and David Bussey of Seminole; two sisters, Erma Taff of Maud and Sandi King of Ada: several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Bussey, and two brothers, Jim and Gene Bussey.
Charles Brewer
Charles Thomas Brewer was born Aug. 5, 1943 to Glenn Dow and Lithia Belle Gladden Brewer.
He passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his home in Houston, TX at the age of 69.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers, John and Hollis, and his wife, Linda Finch Brewer.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Dow Brewer of Houston and his wife Janey; his partner JoAnn Hansen; his sister, Ann DePrater of The Colony, TX; five nieces and nephews and one great niece and one great nephew; his mother-in-law, Ellie Finch of Konawa and numerous friends and fellow workers.
He grew up in Konawa and graduated from Konawa High School in 1961.
He attended East Central University in Ada where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965.
He and Linda Finch were married Oct. 28, 1965 and had one son, Dow.
After his graduation from college he went on to work for the Boy Scouts of America for a number of years. He gave freely his time and effort to this organization because he felt strongly that scouting helped mold the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values.
Tom was a very technically skilled man and after his career in scouting he worked in the carpentry and construction business for many years.
He eventually found a way to combine his passion for travel with a career in the in the freight business which took him and his partner to points North, to Alaska (Barrow) and East to Newfoundland and Ground Zero in New York where he hauled in machinery and rescue equipment for the workers, and other points all around the country.
He enjoyed this career for over twenty five years.
He loved fishing, traveling in their RV, riding his motorcycle to Sturgis and other rally’s across the country, and he especially loved NASCAR racing. He was also a big fan of the Houston TEXANS.
Tom had a tremendous impact on the lives he touched. He was a caring, loving, and supportive friend, father, husband, son, uncle, and brother.
He will be truly missed by everyone he touched with his kindness and generosity.
A celebration of Tom’s life is planned in Houston, Texas on Nov. 3rd to reflect on his life and to share stories about this remarkable man we all loved. We will gather together and celebrate Tom happily and remember him as he was, alive and vibrant.
He will be laid to rest in Konawa.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances and donations are requested to be made in his honor to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Daphine Brewer
Daphine Brewer was born on Oct 22, 1922, in Burkburnett, Texas, as Thelma Daphine Bailey.
She grew up in East Texas, graduating from Kilgore High School and earning an Associate of Arts degree from Kilgore College.
She met a man, James E. Brewer, through mutual friends, and in 1948, they married.
Aunt Daphine and Uncle Jim came to Seminole in 1950, and she lived there happily over 50 years.
During the last 15 months of her life, she lived in Arlington, Texas, with her great-niece, Andrea Jaksa, and her family.
Aunt Daphine was active in the Presbyterian Church and found her faith particular solace in her later years.
Aunt Daphine worked as a bookkeeper/accountant throughout her adult life for large companies like Shell Oil and for smaller businesses like her husband’s pump shop. She never lost her business sense and continued to be concerned with numbers until her death.
She was an avid and adept duplicate bridge player, and she played in bridge clubs in the Seminole area for years.
Aunt Daphine loved horses, and she loved to travel. She and Uncle Jim travelled the US and enjoyed horse tracks wherever they went. She continued this practice and last spring visited a Texas horse track with her family, remembering jockeys and other key information to make her a winner for the day!
She also loved dogs, and was a longtime Shetland Sheepdog owner.
This is a woman with an amazing sense of manners and politeness, which she maintained until her death.
Although she never had children, she was an integral part of the lives of her great-nieces, Andrea Jaksa and Melissa Johnson, and their families.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, sister, nephew, husband, and many dear friends.
Daphine Brewer was dearly loved and will be missed!
She was able, through the aid of hospice care, to stay in the home of her great niece until her death, Thursday, March 15, 2012.
The service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel located in the center of the Maple Grove Cemetery, on Strothers Street, in Seminole.
A reception will follow the service at Daphine’s house, 1816 Oakridge Dr. in Seminole.
Harold Brewer
Harold Eugene Brewer, 64, Maud, Oklahoma resident died Friday, Jan 20, 2012 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Harold was born July 20, 1947 in Konawa to Clyde Carlton and Velma (Williams) Brewer.
Harold worked in the Seminole area oilfields most of his life. He had moved back to the area from Mt. Pleasant, Texas in 1975.
Harold was a member of the St. Louis Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Air Force.
Harold married Zella Lorene (Wise) Brewer on Sept 14, 1973 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas; she survives him of the home.
In addition to his wife Zella, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Lori Brewer, James and Alesha Brewer and John and Sarah Brewer all of Maud; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and James Ray Deatherage of Maud, Oklahoma and Valerie and Patrick Williams of Okemah, Oklahoma.; three brothers Tom and Wanda Brewer of Byers, Oklahoma, Carl Brewer of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Earl Brewer of Newalla, Oklahoma; four sisters Ester Alexander of Norman, Oklahoma, Shirley Gurley of Jones, Oklahoma, Jean and Larry Sterns of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Ruby and Gerald Lee of Mustang, Oklahoma and 15 grandchildren; Jordan, Cole, Breanna, Casey, Devin and Braxton Brewer, Ethan, Wacey, Lane, Payden Williams, Colton Deatherage and Amber Deatherage, Brandon Ray, Vanessa Ray and Rodney Ray and two great grandchildren Trevor and Treyton Ellis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glen and Walter Brewer, sisters Lola Tombs and Nadine Gates, Son Michael Kelley and a brother and sister-in-law Billy and Shirley Wise.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 24, 2012 at the St. Louis Baptist Church in St. Louis, Oklahoma with burial at Vamoosa, with military honors. Rev. Glen Peck and Frank Brewer will officiate at the services.
Casket bearers will be Nolan Dodson, Luther Anderson, Steve Nail, Ty Dean, Jim Taff and James Votaw with Randy Harjo serving as honorary.
Funeral under the direction of the Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
William Brewer
William "Bill" Thomas Brewer, 77, went HOME to celebrate Christmas face to face with Jesus, Dec. 21, 2012 in Midwest City.
William was born July 4, 1935 to Eugene and Iva Brewer in Friendship, Okla..
He graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1945.
Bill served in the 180th Infantry of the Oklahoma National Guard.
He retired from Tinker Air Force Base and loved his cattle ranch.
Bill married Carolyn Johnson in 1964.
Bill is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son and daughter in-law, Thomas, Jenny and one grandchild Alexa Anne; sisters, Eunice Morgan and Bobby Reynolds and his brother, Bedford Brewer.
Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Midwest City, at 10:30 a.m.
Burial at Little Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
