Virgil Joe Bricker was born on Nov. 14, 1937, in Hanna, Okla., and departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 74.
Virgil, the son of Warnie Joe and Norma Jean (Mauser) Bricker, was a resident of Earlsboro.
He attended Dustin Schools until he joined the United States Air Force.
Following his service in the Air Force, Virgil returned to Dustin and graduated from Dustin High School.
He married Pauline LaDean Aultman on Dec. 9, 1953 in Shawnee. She preceded him in death on August 26, 2010.
He was a rancher, farmer, and land trader.
His parents also preceded Virgil in death.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Kris Bricker of Centerview; daughters and son-in-law, Paula and Jack Lane of Shawnee, Linda Kader of Earlsboro; uncles, Hoyle Mauser, J.C. Mauser; aunt, LaRue Mahoney, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Bobby Millsap officiating. Interment is private.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Tommy Briggs
Former Sasakwa resident Tommy Dale Briggs died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the age of 58 in Webber Falls.
He was the owner of a variety store in Konawa and Henryetta.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Assembly of God Church in Sasakwa with Brother Wesley Martin officiating. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Madge Brinlee
Madge Aliene (Pruitt) Brinlee, 90 died May 17, 2012 in Holdenville.
She was born in Jasper, Arkansas on Nov. 14, 1921 to Claude Pruitt and Julia (Breedlove) Pruitt.
She married Ira Oliver Brinlee on Sept. 28, 1940 in Holdenville.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Oliver; siblings, Lonnie, Lewell, Claude Jr., Flossie, Florence, and daughter-in-law Sharon Brinlee.
Survivors include her children, Curtis Brinlee of Holdenville, Hartsell Brinlee of Okemah, Alton of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Kenneth Brinlee of Holdenville, Pat Ray of Wetumka, 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Doug Pruitt of Harrah, Gladys Osborn of Wetumka and Betty Osborn of Wetumka.
Funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Capitol Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Holdenville with Rev. Jim Crawford officiating.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kerry Brinlee, Ira Brinlee, Brian Brinlee, James Ray, Chance Dean, Seth Dean, and Kory Brinlee.
Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery with services under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Braelynn Brown
Braelynn Marie Brown, infant daughter of Justin and Mandi Brown of Seminole, died Jan 2, 2012 at Norman, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her parents Justin Doyl and Mandi (Edens) Brown of the home; brother, Braxtyn Anthony Doyl Brown of the home, her grandparents Johnie and Julie Brown of Sapulpa and Fred and Lynn Edens of Searcy, Arkansas.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, Jan 7, 2012 at the Church of Christ at 12040 Highway 99 North in Seminole. Chris Stinnett and Fred Edens will officiate at the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Cora Brown
Cora Brown, 87, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Cora was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Seminole, to Forrest Ola and Forest Ed Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a former resident of Tecumseh, where she worked in the Tecumseh Public Schools.
She moved to Weatherford and resided with many close friends at Parkview Terrace Apartments.
She was an expert seamstress, quilter and enjoyed embroidery, blessing many with her talents.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Marshall Brown and siblings, Alma Flannery, Betty Sandlin, Mary Jo Cayton and Steve A. Brown.
Survivors include her daughter, Cecilia Lynn Jacobs of Weatherford; two sons serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, Forest Quentin Brown and wife, Pam, of Richland, North Carolina, and Jesse Huey Brown and wife, Monique, of Lawton, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Tecumseh.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until service time at the church.
Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole following the service.
Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Gleeman Brown
Memorial service for Gleeman Brown, 89 of Moore, will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 9, 2012 at the Glad Tidings Church in Seminole.
He died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Moore.
Goldie Brown
Goldie Joy Brown was born on Feb. 9, 1917, to William and May Smith, in.
She went to be with her Lord on Aug. 12, 2012 in Mansville, where she has lived the past three years with her oldest daughter.
She lived her younger years in various communities in Oklahoma until age 16.
She was the youngest daughter of 12 brothers and sisters, two of the brothers were younger than her.
She was preceded in death by all 11 of her brothers and sisters.
Goldie married Wade H Brown in March 1933, at the age of 16.
They lived the first six years of their marriage in Oklahoma, where four of their six children were born.
In 1939 they moved to California where they spent the balance of their marriage, and the two youngest girls were born.
Wade worked for the Shipyards during WWII and Goldie cared for four of their six children.
Goldie worked in the fields most of her life, and helped support the family anytime she had the opportunity.
She was an excellent seamstress, and made many of her children’s cloths, as well as hers and her husband.
She was an avid quilter, and made several quilts every year for many years. Most of the quilts she gave away to her children and grandchildren.
Goldie is preceded in death by her husband Wade of 54 years who was killed in an auto accident in Feb. 1987.
She was also preceded in death by one child, Joy Jean, who died shortly after her birth.
Goldie is survived by five of her children, Evelyn Lee of Mansville, Robert (Chuck) Brown of Merced Ca., Ed W Brown and his wife, Coleta of Lone Grove, Lora Boomer and her husband, Jake of Mertle Point, OR; and Lenora Amunrud of Merced Ca.; 11 grandchildren, Pam, Mike, Steve, Vance, Valerie Craig, Jerry Jeff, Todd, Scott, and Michelle; 19 great grandchildren, Colleen, Billie Heather, Steve Jr., Brittany Ashley, Cameron, Amber, Scotty, Brian, Justin, Margi, Emili, Tiberias, and Trinity and nine great, great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 24, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Ardmore with Reverends David Dawson and Jimmy May officiating.
Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
Rolland Brown
Rolland John "Brownie" Brown, of Stockton, CA died Jan 17, 2012, at the age of 89.
He was born in Seminole to Grover and Nellie (Casper) Brown.
Rolland proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He retired from the trucking industry in the 70's.
Rolland is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jean M. Brown; daughters, Jamie Van Gorder, Berniece Wilson, Saundra Bedford, Carrie Bessac; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Tom Brown; sisters, Geraldine Brown and Gertrude Rose; step-children, Tammy Kelly and Robert Novetzke.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Carl Dee and Rolland, Jr. Brown; siblings, Jack, Vernon, Alan, and Wilbur Brown and Margie Moore.
Friends are invited to visit Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., with committal to follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.

Troy Brown
Troy Dalton Brown, 19, Bowlegs resident was a victim of homicide and died on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 in Seminole County.
He was born Dec. 22, 1992 in Shawnee to parents Donny Ray Brown and Glenda K. (Hailey) Brown.
He attended Bowlegs High School.
He was a professional noodler and worked breaking horses and building pole barns.
Survivors include his mother, Glenda K. (Hailey) Brown of Bowlegs; his father, Donny Ray Brown and his wife, Dana of El Reno; three brothers, Dakota Brown of Bowlegs, Russell Yott of Maud, Jason Yott of Konawa; one sister, Amber Anzalone of Romeoville, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Jeannine Hailey of McLoud and Charley Hailey of Holdenville.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Troy and Bonnie Bridges, and great-grandparents, Lois and Dump Hailey.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Bowlegs High School Gym.
Honorary bearers will be Russell Yott, Jason Yott, Dakota Brown, Mac Jones, Tyler Richardson, Travis Noll, Cody Watters, Gage Shull, Clint Pinion and Brent Butler.
