Larry Gene Bruce was born on July 12, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Dewey & Dessie Bruce. He was brought up and graduated high school in Oklahoma City.
He worked at various jobs, including owning and operating his own trucking company. He last worked four years as a Deputy Sheriff for Oklahoma County, retiring in 2006.
He married Donna Kay Boren on February 14, 2004, in Oklahoma City, and they made their home in Seminole.
Larry died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at the age of 68 years.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey & Dessie Bruce, and one brother, Travis Bruce.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; one son, Terry Bruce, and two grandchildren, all of Oklahoma City; one brother, Roger Anderson of Mississippi; two stepsons, Barry Browder of Florida and Bryan Browder and wife Michell, of Illinois; two step-grandchildren, along with various other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Wewoka First Assembly of God Church, with graveside services at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, with Rev. Perry Justus officiating.
Services were under direction of Fisher Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Joseph Bruner
Joseph Willie Bruner was born to Geneva Nero Bruner and Johnnie Bruner on Dec. 22, 1943 in Oklahoma City.
He was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents, Charlie Bruner, Sona Bruner, Abraham Nero, Jannet Ransom Nero; two sons, Norick Bruner and Joel Bruner; three brothers, John D. Bruner, Charles Bruner, and Jackie Lee Bruner.
He attended school in Konawa
After moving back to Oklahoma City, his employment over the years was at the Hide Company, Honeywell, Leeway Trucking and Wilson Meat Packing.
He married Patricia Cherry.
He Shirley Jordan.
Later, he married Linda Hawkins of Oklahoma City.
He is survived by children, Marcus Bruner, Kenneth Bruner and Dewayne Townsend all of Oklahoma City, Bridget Bruner of Bakersfield, Calif., April Bruner of Oklahoma City, Linette Bruner of Bakersfield, California, Marco Littlejohn of Durant, Lucille Bruner Perry of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Bryant Bruner, Errol Bruner, Michael Bruner, and David Young; two sisters, Rebecca Henderson and Charlesetta Bruner Branton all of Oklahoma City; twenty-three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Melvin Bruner
Funeral Service for former Wewoka resident Melvin Joe Bruner will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Thomas Town Cemetery in Sasakwa.
He died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 in Oklahoma City at the age of 53.
He was born Dec. 28, 1958 in Wewoka to Tacky Dennis and Lillian Bruner.
He graduated from Wewoka High School.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sister Pat Cook of Oklahoma City.
Funeral services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka.
Lester Bryant
Lester Bryant, a long life resident of Wewoka, passed peacefully at his home on Thursday, Feb 9, 2012 at the age of 62 years.
He was born July 13, 1949 in Wewoka, to Mitchell Monroe Bryant and Mildred Irene (Gore) Bryant.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 43 years, Janice, who was by his side forever and always. Two sons and their wives James Bryant and wife Kristy of Wewoka, Steve Bryant and wife Carlye of Wewoka; a brother-in-law, Tony Carter of Newalla, who was like a son. Mother Mildred Bryant of Stigler; Mother-in-law, Dorothy Carter of Spaulding; Two brothers Roger and Kenneth Bryant, both of Stiger; Sister Audrey Bryant of Bristow. His eight grandchildren, Dannielle and husband Adam Thompson of Watonga, Brooke Bryant of Georgia, Bronc Bryant of Watonga, Bridget Alexis Bryant of Georgia, Sago Miles, Braxton Bryant, Jazmine Miles, and Carter Bryant all of Wewoka, and Michael Carter of Newalla; two great-grandchildren, Vincent Thompson and Tristian Bryant.
He is preceded in death by his father Mitchell Bryant, brothers Tommy, Jimmy, and Carl, father-in-law, Andrew Carter of Holdenville.
Lester was a graduate of Wewoka High School and worked in the Oilfield as a Salesman for many years.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends of the family. He will forever live in our hearts.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, Feb 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church Wewoka, with Rev. Dan Factor officiating, Jimmy Don Whisnant will assist. Burial will follow at Yeager Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Davis, Max Abrego, Art Garner, Jim Whisnant, Jack Williams, and Quentin Vinson.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Joe Peepers, David Davis, Joe Grizzle, Ronnie Keesee, Bob Murray, and Kayle Smith.

Nathaniel Buchanan
Nathaniel Clint Buchanan, 31 year-old Shawnee resident died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Shawnee.
He was born March 17, 1980 in Portsmouth, Virginia to parents Judy Raye (Courtney) and Billy Hank Buchanan.
Nathaniel graduated from Shawnee High School in 1998 he went on to continue his education at Seminole State College where he earned his associates degree.
He was currently working toward his masters degree while working as the assistant manager at Domino’s Pizza in Shawnee.
Nathaniel married Christina (Jackson) Buchanan on Aug 2, 2003 in Shawnee.
He is survived by his wife Christina (Jackson) Buchanan of the home; three sons, Michael Buchanan, Trent Buchanan, Matthew Cook; one daughter, Amanda Cook all of the home; his mother, Judy Buchanan of Tecumseh; three brothers, Brian Buchanan and Shane Buchanan both of Griffin, Georgia and Aaron Buchanan of Tecumseh.
Nathaniel is preceded in death by his father, Billy Hank Buchanan and by his grandparents, Ben and Vera Courtney.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Pastor Guy Cagle officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

Bonnie Bullington
Bonnie Lee (Stephens) Bullington, age 88 and a long-time resident of Konawa died at Pauls Valley General Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Visitation began Monday morning, Aug 13th from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
She was born June 16, 1924 in Konawa to Arch Stephens and Lillie (Bickerstaff) Stephens.
She graduated from high school and later married William Bullington on June 6, 1945.
She was a bookkeeper for a commercial laundry service.
She is survived by her husband, William Bullington of the home and one sister, Louise Wegman of Konawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arch and Lillie Stephens.
Betty Bunnell
Betty Jane (Bent) Bunnell, age 77, a resident of Konawa died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at her home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Rev. Pam Shirk will officiate.
Pallbearers are Glenn Badgett, Steven Baker, James Givens, David Eastman, Paul Williams, and Curtis Gentry.

She was born Feb. 25, 1935 in San Jose, California to Jess Bent and Martha (Sands) Bent.
She graduated high school and married James P. Bunnell on Sept. 15, 1962 in San Jose, California.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, James P. Bunnell of the home; one son, Don Varnnell of Vinita; two daughters, Carla Hammack of Konawa, and Tina Badgett of Los Angeles, California; one brother, Benny Bent of Modesto, California; two sisters, Mary Gross of Modesto, California, and Dorthy Jimenez of San Jose, California; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Martha Bent and one sister, Dolly.
Duane Buresh
Duane G. Buresh, 69, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction.
Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa.
He was born July 31, 1943, in Oxford Mills, Iowa, to George and Joyce M. (Jones) Buresh.
He graduated from Mechanicsville High School.
He served in the Army in Vietnam.
In 1985, he married Dorothy Hoselton.
He was an over the road semi truck driver for the last 40 years.
He is survived by one son, Matthew Buresh of Midwest City; two sisters, Nancy Slouha of Oxford Junction and Virginia (Richard) Pace of Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and a brother-in-law.
Hazel Burgess
Hazel Fern Burgess, 92, longtime Seminole county resident died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Wewoka Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wewoka.
She was born May 6, 1920 in Wabash County, Indiana, to Ira and Clara (Steller) Aughinbaugh.
She was a homemaker.
She married Boyd Burgess on Aug. 2, 1952, in Liberty Mills, Indiana.
She is survived by three daughters, Nan Goforth of Seminole, Mary Rumsey of Yukon and Jane Mullings of Maud; her stepson, Terry Schwartz and stepdaughter, Sandra Burgess both of Tulsa; a brother, Dan Aughinbaugh of California and a sister, Laura Belle Wolfe of North Manchester, Indiana; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Boyd Burgess; a daughter, Kay Burgess; stepdaughter, Janet Ritz; stepson, Bob Burgess; two sisters, Mary West and Ethel Kabat and a brother, Ira Aughinbaugh and three grandsons, Don Ritz, Jr., Danny Goforth and Zachary Mullings.
Memorial services are planned for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
The family will receive friends and family Wednesday evening for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home.
