Donna Davis

Donna Irene Davis, 79, longtime Seminole resident died Saturday, Feb 4, 2012 in Flower Mound, Texas.

She was born Nov 14, 1932 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Daniel McCoy Hause Jr. and Erla Irene (Turner) Hause.

Donna had recently moved to Texas to be near her son’s family.

Donna was Office Manager and secretary for Melco Drilling for many years and Bill Weems Oil Company of Seminole for a total of 42 years.

Donna was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.

Donna married Bill L. Davis in Seminole, on Sept 11, 1952 and he preceded her in death on Jan 5, 2003.

Her son Mike Davis of Flower Mound, Texas and daughter Lisa Campbell of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, survive Donna; five grandchildren LaDawna and Rebecca Campbell, Josh Davis, Jake Davis and Anna Davis also survive her.

Her parents, a son Brian Davis and her husband Bill Davis, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, Feb 8, 2012 at the First Baptist Church at 420 Reid Street in Seminole. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery with Doug Melton officiating.

Casket bearers will be Jerry Childers, Scott Childers, Jerald Harris, David Forgety, Jared Childers and Justin Childers.

Honorary bearers will be Walter Serner, Josh Davis, Jacob Davis and Bill Campbell.

Swearingen Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Hariett Davis

Hariett Davis, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 in Ada at the age of 63 years.

She was born Feb. 12, 1949 in Wewoka to Irene Fife.

She married her husband Glenn Davis Sr.

They resided in Oklahoma City for 36 years until returning to Sasakwa in 2010.

She worked many years before she graduated from Oklahoma training institute with a computer degree.

She was professor for the work force of Oklahoma and at Vo-Tech. Her most recent place of employment was being a Manager at Braum's in Ada.

She was a member of the Mekusukey band.

Preceding her in death, her mother, Irene Fife, grandfather Cheparney Camp, brother Barney Camp Jr, and sister Mary Sue Davis.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Davis Sr.; five children Shelly Davis, Gwendolyn Hill, Glenn Davis Jr., Jimmy Davis, and Shannon Davis; one brother Andrew Camp; sister Joanna Fife; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren with two on the way.

The body will be taken to the home at 1:30 PM Friday Oct. 5, 2012 for a Wake services at 7:30 PM Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at the Home of Glenn Davis in Sasakwa with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Jimsey Harjo officiating.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the home of Glenn and Harriett Davis.

Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in Sasakwa, with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.

Pall Bearers will be Koteha Scott, Micco Scott, Elijah Davis, Bill Davis, Jr., Abraham Davis II, Dean Hill, Manny Rios, and Darin Camp.

Marion Davis

Marion Z. "Bud" Davis passed away Feb 12, 2012 in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 15, 2012 at the Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church (Wewoka) with Pastor; Bob Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Morse Cemetery.

Pallbearers are James Davis, Thomas Davis, Zach Davis, Arles Wells, Derek Christopher and Robert Bramlett.

Honorary Pallbearers are Judge Sawyer, Larry Sawyer, Jessie Sawyer, Ronnie Keesee, Glen Able, and Jim Stafford.

Bud was born June 4, 1933 in Mason, Oklahoma to Marion Zach and Pansey Batterton Davis.

He attended Bearden Schools and later married Norma Jo Massey in Okemah on Dec 22, 1954.

Bud was a member of the Mission Home Missionary Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK.

Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was an avid outdoors man, he loved spending time with his family and grandkids, and going to the coffee shop to visit friends.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters; Elra Davis, Lucille Miller, Faye Lewellen, and Virgie Gordon.

He is survived by his wife; Norma Jo Davis, sons; Mike and wife Cindy Davis of Wewoka, Martin Wayne and wife Vivian Davis of Holdenville, sister; Fern McCabe, grandchildren; Paula Sankey, Arles Wells, James and wife Shanna Davis, Thomas and wife Jamie Davis, and Zachary Davis and fiance Kailyn Parker, great-grandchildren; Dillon Sankey, Ty Campbell, and Jacey Davis.

Maybeline Davis

Maybeline Davis, 85, lifelong Sasakwa resident died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at her home in Sasakwa.

She was born Feb. 25, 1927 in Wewoka to parents, Willie and Molly (Johnson) Coker.

She attended elementary school at Ong school and then went to Murrow Children's Home, in Muskogee.

She married Bill Davis Sr. March 3, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina.

She was a member of Seminole Nation Tallahassee Band and belonged to the Bird Clan.

She worked as a seamstress at Wrangler and Big Yank.

Survivors included children, Junelle Barker, Glen Davis, Peggy Davis, Molline Jackson, Abe Davis II, Bill Davis Jr., and Guress McConnell; 32 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Davis Sr.; four sons, Jimmy Don, Leslie, Jimmy and Benny Davis; brothers, Charlie, Gary, and Buster and sisters, Annabelle, Kathy Tanyan, and Sue Wapakechec.

Pall bearers will be grandsons, Jimmy Don Davis, Glen Davis Jr., Brandon Peak, Jeremy Davis, Abraham Davis III, John Beaver, Kocv Davis and Micco Davis.

Honorary pall bearers will be Jake Jackson, Kenneth Coker, Glen Coker, Noah Ryals, Steven Ryals, and Coker Dean Barker.

The body will be taken to the home in Sasakwa at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 for a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Jimsey Harjo officiating.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the home with Rev. Billy Joe Harjo officiating and burial rites will follow at Davis Family Cemetery.

Venora Davis

Venora Lugene "Babe" (Peek) Davis, 86 year-old longtime Seminole resident passed from this life Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 at Kindred Health Center in Ft. Worth, Texas.

She was born July 2, 1926 in Jenks, Okla. to parents Pearl (Peters) Peek and Fredrick Ashley Hopkins "Fred" Peek.

Babe attended Jenks High School and later married Gerald Loyd Davis on Aug. 22, 1944 in Bixby, Okla.

The couple moved to Seminole in the 1970’s from Electra, Texas.

Babe worked as a housekeeper for both Pioneer Nursing Home and then for Seminole Estates Care Center until her retirement.

She is a member of God’s Assembly Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Gerald Loyd Davis of the home; two daughters, Sharon Crow and her husband Lawrence of Ft. Worth, Texas and Karen Parker and her husband Ron of Ardmore; one brother, Joe Bill Peek of Springport, Michigan; one sister, Mattie Marlene Doolin of Indianapolis; one very special brother, Gus Monreal and his wife Pat of Seminole; five grandchildren Travis Crow (Holly) of Azle, Texas, Mark Crow (Marie) of Ft. Worth, Texas, Keith Crow of Arlington, Texas, Rhoni Elliott (Rod) of Ardmore and Greg Parker (Joni) of Davis, Okla.; eleven great-grandchildren, Blain Elliott, Creed Elliott, River Elliott, (twins) Dane and Trey Parker, Jake Parker, Braden Crow, Cara-Lee Crow, Luke Crow and (twins) Sara and Ava Crow; special friend, Jeanette Stribling of Saginaw, Texas; best friend, Shirley Brown of Seminole; and a host of other family and friends.

Babe is preceded in death by one son, Gerald Loyd "Boy" Davis; two brothers, Charlie Peek and an infant brother; six sisters, Grethel Fisher, Tobe Williams, Maxine DesJardin, Frankie Rose, Sissy Humbyrd and Billie Jo Turner; and by one granddaughter, Lori Crow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Gus Monreal officiating the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday evening, Dec. 14, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Sherry Davison

Graveside services for Sherry Darlene Davison, 65, of Big Cabin, OK are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Oakwood Cemetery near Wewoka.

She died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at a Claremore hospital.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.

Hattie Dean

Hattie Waldene "Dene" Dean, 79 year-old, Seminole resident died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Community Health Center Nursing Home in Wakaita, Oklahoma.

Hattie was born Feb. 5, 1933 in Council Hill, Oklahoma to Tom Calvin and Syble Eloise (Kitchens) Herron.

She attended Council Hill High School.

Dene later married Donald F. Dean Sr. on Sept. 21, 1958 in Stigler.

Dene was a Homemaker and also was an EKG Technician.

She was co-owner and operator of Dean & Sons Carpet Cleaning and Janitorial Services for 13 years before she and her husband retired.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Dean of Seminole; three sons, Tom Huneycutt of Tulsa, Donald "Don" Dean Jr. of Tulsa and Bobby "Bob" Herron of Seminole; two daughters, Sherry Rodriguez of Garber, and Kathey Bell of Tulsa; two brothers, Wallace "Duke" Herron of Owasso and Tommy Wayne Herron of Jenks and a sister Shirley Graves of Seminole, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorial graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole. Pastor Allen Lewis and Denny Landrum will officiate at the service.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is in charge of arrangements.

Amos DeShields

Funeral services for Amos Jack DeShields will be Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 5, 1927 southwest of Okemah.

He died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at his home near Bearden at the age of 85.

He had been a resident of the Okemah area most of his life.

He and Elizabeth Peggy Bowen were married Sept. 19, 1947.

He was the owner and operator of DeShields Building Stone, DeShields Energy and was a former service manager for Sears for many years.

He is survived by his wife Peggy DeShields of the home; his son, Dennis Jack DeShields of Pea Ridge, Arkansas; his daughter, Sheila deShields Hildreth of San Jose, California; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah with Rev. Derryl DeShields and Bro. Manuel Kishketon assisting.
