Jim Riley Douthit, Sr., 82, Bowlegs resident died, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, in Shawnee.
Jim was born May 26, 1930, in Todd Town, Okla. near Bowlegs to James Loyd and Lottie Mae (Simmons) Douthit.
Jim was a life long Seminole County resident who worked in the oilfields most of his life.
In his later years he became an independent businessman owning and operating a heavy equipment company and gravel pit performing oilfield re-clamation work and heavy blasting to cleanup oilfield sites.
Jim loved to fish and go camping and was a former member of the AFL-CIO Union.
Jim married Marylee Price on Sept. 2, 1949 in Lindsay. She preceded him in death on May 29, 1997.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dolly Douthit of Bowlegs; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Paulk of Shawnee; a daughter-in-law, Neda Douthit of Bowlegs; his brother, Don Douthit of Bowlegs, and his sister, Ina Faye Childress of Bowlegs.
Jim is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, adopted grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marylee Douthit, his son Jim Riley Douthit, Jr., and his son-in-law Rickey " Nik" Paulk.
Funeral services are planned for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Bowlegs Baptist Church in Bowlegs. Services will be officiated by Rev. Gus Monreal with burial to follow at Wolf Cemetery.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Amber Downey
Amber Dawn Downey, 25, Maud resident died Monday, June 11, 2012 in Maud.
Amber was born Dec. 27, 1986 in Shawnee to William and Kathy (Winter) Downey.
Amber moved to the Seminole area 17 years ago from Tecumseh.
She had lived in both Seminole and Maud over the past few years.
Amber was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seminole.
Amber graduated from Maud High School after attending Seminole Public Schools for many years.
Amber is survived by her father and mother, William and Kathy Downey of Seminole; her two daughters, Ezri Dawnalea Blankenship and Aanika Grace Blankenship of the home ;one brother, Timothy Allan Downey of Norman, grandparents, William K. and Sandra Downey of Ardmore and Oda and Mary Winter of Seminole.
She is also survived by her uncle, Mike Downey and his wife Mechell of Seminole; five aunts, Rachael McAden and her husband J.B of Tioga, Texas, Helen Romeiser of Argyle, Texas, Candy Chazel of Odessa, Texas, Cindy Simpkins of Seminole and Samantha Harjo and Joe Daniels of Seminole and by her cousins, Stephen Downey, Jessica Downey, LeAnna Romeiser, Emily Romeiser, Heather Palmer, Simon Harjo, Greeley McAden and Riggins McAden.
Her grandparents, Reba and Joe Davis and Aunt Tabby Winter preceded her in death.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Walter Downey
Walter Dale Downey, 76, longtime Seminole resident died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Seminole Care and Rehab Center in Seminole.
He was born July 2, 1935 in Tyronne County, Missouri.
Walter came to Seminole out of the U.S. Air Force in 1959.
Walter was retired from Jewelry Manufacturing.
His wife, Mary Elizabeth Martin, preceded Walter in death on Nov. 5, 2011.
Three sons, Martin Dale Downey, Wesley Warren Downey and Thomas Paul Downey and three daughters Elizabeth Ann Hellman, Rebecca Lynn Bobbitt and Susan Margaret Moore survive him. 15 grandchildren also survive him.
Cremation services and arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Don Doyle Jr.
Don Doyle Jr. of Konawa died Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Ada at the age of 52 years.
He was born Jan. 8, 1960 in Talihina, OK to Don Doyle and Treassia Harjo.
He attended Bowlegs schools and worked in the oil fields as mechanic.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Steve Factor and sister, Tanya Renee Factor.
Survivors include wife, Christy Louise Nichols Dorrough; children, Joe Don Doyle and Jalena Kay Doyle both of Seminole; step-children, Daniell Ray Dorrough Rush Springs, OK and Danielle Starr of Konawa; nine grandchildren; brother, Anthony Factor of Maud; sisters, Linda Doyle Hineline of Broken Arrow and Tina Yarbrough of Wichita, KS.
Wake service will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Factor officiating and burial at Wewoka Indian Methodist Church Cemetery, Yeager OK.
Pall Bearers will be Randy Anson, Joey McGirt, David McGirt, James Long, Derrick Long, and Jeremy Fowler.

Virginia Driskill
Virginia Lee Driskill 73, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 in Shawnee.
She was born and raised in Seminole on April 11, 1939 to Virgil Johnny and Florene Agnes (Pixley) Meek.
Virginia married John David Driskill July 28, 1960 in Seminole and moved to California, later returning to Bowlegs and Shawnee.
She has lived the last 35 years in Tecumseh.
Virginia attended Seminole public schools and graduated from Seminole High School.
She attended Gordon Cooper Vo-tech where she earned her C.N.A.
She also was a licensed DHS Child Care Provider.
Besides being a homemaker, Virginia was a med-aide at Golden Rule.
She was the Educational Foundation Exchange Coordinator, Counselor and a volunteer member for The Red Cross at the Murrah and World Trade Center bombings.
Virgina loved her grandchildren and they were very important to her life.
She also traveled all over the world.
Virginia loved to sing.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John David Driskill.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jeff Thompson of Tecumseh; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Bobbie Driskill of Paden, Jeff Driskill of New York; grandchildren, Brittany Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Amanda and Mark Worley and Leslie and Craig Quinalty; great-grandchildren, Kolby, Alexis, Taylor Nicole, Hunter and Josie; sister, Charlotte Stallings of Tecumseh; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ruby Meek and many extended family and friends.
Visitation began at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012 and will continue until time of service.
The family will gather to meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
Service will be Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., June 20, 2012 at Bowlegs Assembly of God Church with Pastor Roy Robertson officiating.
Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Patrick Dunagan
Former Seminole resident, Patrick S. Dunagan, 64, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away of natural causes on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 in Wichita.
Patrick was born on Dec. 12, 1947 in Seminole to Seabron and Ruth Dunagan.
Services were held on Sept. 12, 2012 at the Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita, Kansa with graveside services at Winfield Veteran’s Cemetery.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one sister, and three brothers, Ruby Darwin and husband, Bill of New Meadows, Idaho, Charles Dunagan of Katy, Texas, William Dunagan of Shawnee, and Roy Dunagan and wife, Donna Dunagan of Konawa; his nieces and nephews, Brian and Amy Dunagan, Brent and Amber Dunagan, Shanna and Blair Payne, Jessica and Rodney Troglin, Joshua and Julia Dunaga, Jeremiah and Holly Dunagan; his great nieces and nephews, Michael, Leslie, Brittany, Aaron, Bryson Dunagan; Adam and Claire Dunagan; Elizabeth and Flynn Dunagan; Luke Payne and numerous family and friends.
Prebble Duncan
Prebble "Mozelle" (Mayfield) Duncan, age 88 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at OU Medical Center in Edmond.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Spencer Duncan will officiate. Pallbearers are Barry Duncan, Mickey Duncan, Spencer Duncan, Tyler Duncan, and Ryan McGann. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Duncan, Bradley Duncan, Justin Duncan, Payden McGann and Colin McGann.
Mozelle was born on April 21, 1923 in Konawa to Johnnie James Mayfield and Sarah Elizabeth (Hagar) Mayfield. She was a homemaker of the Christian faith, and she enjoyed her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons, Troy Rayford Duncan and wife, Carolyn of Warner, Oklahoma, and Donald Irvin Duncan and wife, Sherri of Nixa, MO; one daughter, Sarah LaWanda Chadwick and fiancé, John Stephen Michener of Oklahoma City; special friend, Col. J.R. Baxter of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Geneva Kelly of Pacifica, CA, Wanda "Smit" Senior of Littleton CO, and Peggy Flatt of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Duncan; one brother, Johnny Mayfield, and one sister, Willie Jean Spencer.
Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.
L.D. Dye
L. D. Dye, 87, longtime Seminole resident died Friday, April 13, 2012 in Seminole.
L.D. was born Oct. 14, 1924 in Verden, Oklahoma to Dallas Jackson and Lula Mae (Parker) Dye.
L.D. worked for James Dye Body Shop for many years and retired in 2001.
L.D. married Jessie Ann Bray on Dec. 31, 1948.
He is survived by one son, Gary Dye of Seminole; two daughters, Linda Branson of Seminole and Regina King of Pauls Valley; four brothers, Vernon Dye of Odessa, Texas, James Dye and Bobby Dye of Seminole and Ronald Dye of Noble; two sisters, Shirley Killebrew of Shawnee and Lenore Snow of Seminole; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
His parents; his wife, Jessie Dye; a daughter, Karen Richards; three brothers, Kenneth, William and Bud Dye and a sister Mildred Dye preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Christ Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
His grandsons, Jason Branson, Ryan Branson, Chris Dye, Jeff Meadows, Brad King and Lesley King will be casket bearers.
Honorary Bearers are Greg Dye and Jason Meadows
