Cynthia E. (Spraker) Galbreath, 69 year-old, lifelong Seminole resident died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at her home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1942 in Seminole to parents Eli Ike Spraker and Sena (Johnson) Spraker.
On June 24, 1988 she married James Galbreath in Browning, Montana.
Following her High School graduation from Strother High School in 1960, she earned her Masters Degree in health education from Oklahoma University.
She worked at Wewoka Indian Health Services as an educator. She retired Oct. 31, 2007.
She is survived by her husband, James Galbreath of the home; two sons, Wendell Williams and Raymond Spraker both of Seminole; one brother, Glynn Cornelius of Seminole; one sister, Thomasene Little Davis of Seminole; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her biological father, Eli Ike Spraker; her mother, Sena (Johnson) Spraker-Little; her step-father, Bud Little; one son, Randall Williams; two brothers, Gilbert Johnson and Ronald "Oogie" Melton and by two aunts, Bessie Jones and Lizzie Warledo.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the family home place.
Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Doyle Garrett
Doyle Gene Garrett died peacefully at home at the age of 73, Wednesday, June 27, 2012, after a year-long battle with lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his father, W. A. Garrett, and his mother, Oral Hettie (Parks) Garrett; one daughter, Stacy Martinez; two sisters, Brenda Garrett and Linda Carl.
He spent his boyhood in New Model, Oklahoma, before joining the Navy.
He settled in San Lorenzo, California, and worked as a pipe fitter.
He owned his own pipe fitting company before deciding to retire and return home to Oklahoma.
He enjoyed working the ranch and his cattle.
In his spare time he enjoyed competition shooting, hunting, and fishing.
He leaves his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Terri (John) Hemenes; grandchildren, Jessica, Ryan, Samantha, Lauryn, Haley, Johnny, Eric, and Alexandria; great grandson, Roman; stepson, Robert (Stacy) Humes; stepdaughter, Janelle (Chuck) Maes; grandchildren, Kevin, Ian, Donovan, C.J. and Hayden.
He will be dearly missed by all.
His final wish is to be cremated with no services.
The family would like to thank Faith Hospice, especially LeAnne and Linda for their care and support.
Larry Gayler
Larry Andrew Gayler, age 62 of Wewoka died at his residence Tuesday, June 26th, 2012.
He was born Feb. 23, 1950 in Wewoka to Clarence and Emma (Wolf) Gayler.
He married Donna Brumley Feb. 9, 1979 in Wewoka.
Survivors include his wife, Donna of the home; children, James White, Sondra White, and Julie White all of Wewoka; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and brother, Kenneth Gayler of Wewoka.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Scot Goodrich and brother, Tommy.
He previously worked for R L Frailey, Brown & Root Construction before moving back to Wewoka and ran a house moving business with his father and brother.
He worked for Wrangler for over 20 years retiring in May 2012.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chesser officiating.
Alan Gean
Alan Lee Gean died April 12, 2012 at his residence in Wewoka, at the age of 62.
He was born in Clarksville, AR on March 24, 1950 to John E Sonny Gean and Alma E. Sellers Gean.
He attended school in Wichita, KS and he retired form Southwestern Remodeling on Nov. 9, 1984.
He married Linda Lou Barnhart on Nov. 9, 1984.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Rita G. Bryon; granddaughter, Marie G. Salazar and grandson, Christopher A. Whitlock.
Survivors include his wife Linda Gean; grandson, Mario Alan Martinez both of the home; daughter, Danille Martinez of Wichita, KS; step-daughter, Marvell Whitlock; step-sons, Clayton Whitlock; Charlie Whitlock of Wewoka; Toby Andrews, Will and Scottie all of Ardmore; three sisters Johnny C. Stafford of Danville, KS, Gloria Sue Cauldwell of Claycenter, KS, and Connie D. Baugh of Berryville, AR.; fifteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday at Blessed Rock Church, Wewoka.
Edward Gentry
Edward Lee Gentry, age 82 and resident of Konawa died Monday, May 7, 2012 at his home.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Viewing is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, May 9th at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
He was born April 27, 1930 in Texas to Robert L. and Marie (Gilmore) Gentry.
He worked as a driller for the oilfield industry.
He is survived by three sons, Richard Franklin Gentry of Konawa, James Edward Gentry of Shawnee and Curtis Lee Gentry of Asher; one daughter, Linda Cowans of Oklahoma City; one sister, Wanda L. Johnson of Checotah; twenty grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marie Gentry; his wife, Sharon Gentry; and five children.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Alexandria George
Alexandria A. George, former resident of Seminole County and a resident of Asher, Oklahoma, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Unity North Health Center in Shawnee at the age of 88.
Memorial services will be planned at a later date.
Cremation is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.
Alexandria was born in Danvers, MA to James George and Efrosini (Metros) George on Sept. 3, 1923.
She worked as a Jet Engine Machinist in the Aero Space industry.
She is survived by her special friend, Ruby M. Byford of the home and one brother, Ernie George.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Efrosini George; one sister, Sophie Allen; and seven brothers, George, Louis, Charles, William, Arthur, Evangelos, and Spero George.
Mozell Gibson
Mozell (Caudle) Gibson, 94 year-old longtime Maud resident passed from this life on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 in Escondido, California she was born June 12, 1918 to parents Frank and Julia (Kent) Caudle.
Mozell married Joe Gibson on Aug. 9, 1943 in Shawnee.
She was a homemaker and a very devout Christian woman.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Jackie Gibson; two daughters, Dixie Billings and Fern Cecil; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Mozell was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Caudle; her husband, Joe Gibson (June 14, 1994); one sister, Estelle Caudle; and by three brothers, Frank Caudle, Russell Caudle and Dewayne Caudle.
Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 at Cummings Cemetery in Maud with Rev. Rusty McMullen officiating the service.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
M.W. Gideon
M.W. Gideon, 88, passed away peacefully at his home, south of Seminole on Wednesday, Jan 25, 2012.
M.W. was born on Nov 17, 1923, in Konawa, to Murphy and Ada Gideon. He was the youngest of nine children.
M.W. graduated from Vamoosa High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving as a gunners mate in the South Pacific during World War II, he served three years.
Upon discharge from the Navy, he joined the Steamfitters and Pipefitters Union. He was a Certified Steamfitter Welder and worked out of Local 344 in Oklahoma City, for 64 years.
He married Irene Lewis from Seminole County on Jan 19, 1947 and they were married for 65 years.
They lived in California for five years before moving back to Oklahoma, after living and working in various states, they settled south of Seminole in 1965.
He is survived by the love of his life, Irene Gideon of the home, his two daughters and their husbands, Kerry Lynn McNutt and husband Danny McNutt of Oklahoma City, and Cyndy Gideon and her husband Jim Corman of Gainsville, Texas, a surviving sister, Ann Guthrie of Midwest City, and brother-in-law Ted Lewis and his wife Georgia, rural Seminole County. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was a 32 degree Mason, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Konawa, and a member of the Wolf Baptist Church.
A celebration of his Christian life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan 27, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. Burial will follow in the Wolf Cemetery south of Seminole.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Trenton Godwin
Trenton Alexander Godwin was born at 2:39 a.m. on March 6, 2012, in Shawnee to Rachel Lynn Massay and Adam Ryan Godwin. He was eight pounds, five ounces and 21 inches long.
Lovingly nicknamed "TAG" he will be greatly missed by his parents, Rachel Massay and Adam Godwin of Seminole, maternal grandparents: Hollie and Darian Johnson of Seminole, Danny Massay of Seminole, paternal grandparents Debbie Regian of Wewoka and Todd and Susan Godwin of Shawnee, great grandparents: Bob and Glenda Massay of Seminole, Shay Haworth of Naples, Florida, Rod and Peggy Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, James "Red" Regian of Seminole and Stephen and Laura Godwin of California, great great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Hawkins of Seminole. Aunts and Uncles Heather (Massay) Gordon and her husband John "J.P." Gordon of Hubert, NC., Stephanie and DJ Ridge of Shawnee, Stephen Godwin of Seminole, Anthony and Falon Regian of Wewoka, Dakota Godwin of Shawnee, Breanna Godwin of Shawnee and numerous other family members.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Flynn officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.
