Emma Mae Green passed away in Oklahoma City on Dec. 10, 2012.
She was born on Oct. 10, 1920 to Norman and Grace Griffin in Achille, Okla.
She attended school in Achille and Wynnewood, Okla.
Mae married John Green on Nov. 5, 1938 and had three children, Emma, Judy, and John, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Emma Robertson; two brothers and one sister.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Judy Morgan of Moore, Okla. and her son, John Green of Seminole. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and her sister, Catherine Moore of Bartlesville, and many nieces and nephews.
While living in Seminole, Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church where she also sang in the choir.
She was the owner and operator of Cut and Curl Beauty Shop where she made many friends.
Mae and her husband moved to Oklahoma City in 1969. While there she worked at OPUBCO and was a secretary for the Baker's Union. She was also a member of Shields Avenue Baptist Church.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Lynlee Mae Chapel located at 507 E. Main Street in Moore, Okla.
Services under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore.
Interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Jolanda Green
Former Wewoka resident Jolanda Denise (Jackson) Green age 44 died Sunday, June 3, 2012 in Tulsa.
She was born Sept. 7, 1967 in Oklahoma City to Johnny and Evelyn (Jackson) Brooks.
She was a graduate of Wewoka High School.
Prior to her death she worked in Tulsa as a health provider.
Preceding her in death is father, Johnny Brooks; grandparents; nine aunts and uncles.
Survivors include mother, Evelyn Jackson Brooks of Tulsa; children, Keausha and Rickey Green of Tulsa; sisters, Myra Brooks of Las Vegas, NV, Caliasa Jackson of Wewoka, Dr. L. J. (Linda) Jackson of OKC, Sheila Johnson of Tulsa and Yoshunda Cham of Wichita, KS.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at New Joy Fellowship, 14017 E 11th St., Tulsa, with Pastor Richard Forney officiating and committal will be 3:00 p.m. at Westwood Cemetery, Wewoka.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
John Greenmyer
CMS Sgt. John Henry Greenmyer Jr. of Seminole left this life from his home, Monday, Oct. 26, 2012.
He was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
John was born June 28, 1924 to John H. and Hattie Leona (Spradling) Greenmyer in McCurtain, Okla.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 serving through WWII then transferred to the U.S. Air Force.
He married Margie Faye Pridgen on June 20, 1950 in Ft. Smith, Ark.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he and his family settled in the Strother community in Seminole County where he worked as a rural route postal carrier for the U.S. Postal service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Dustin Hughes; five brothers and two sisters.
John is survived by his wife of the home, Margie; his three children, Debi Greenmyer of Moore; Col. John and Maribel Greenmyer III of Washington; Betty Thomas of Seminole; four sisters, Ruby Stevens of Santa Maria, CA., Dottie and husband, Gene Short of Beggs, Okla., Lavonne Todd of Mounds, Okla., Melba and husband, Earl Spears of Del City, Okla., and many nieces and nephews; six grandchildren, Bekki (Hughes) and Shannon Remo of Norman; Travis Hughes of Edmond, James and Kortnee Thomas of Tecumseh; Marcus Thomas of Tecumseh; Patricia and Daniel Greenmyer of Washington; five great-grandchildren, Kendall, Travis, and Gage of Norman; and Alexandria and Keevan of Tecumseh.
John will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Virgina.
Cameron Gregory
Services for Cameron Gregory will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 7, 2012, at the Reed Culver Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Faught officiating.
Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
She was born Sept. 23, 1935 in Wewoka to Larnce and Pearl (Garlick) Denney.
She grew up in Konawa, leaving there after she graduated high school in 1953 to attend CHC in Elk City for nursing.
She was a licensed nurse and worked for many years at Tahlequah City Hospital, as well as several of the local nursing homes.
She would continue her nursing career for Talking Leaves Job Corp until she retired in 1992.
She died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the age of 76 years.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her daughter, Denita Shamel of Salina; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Tommie Rath of Covington and one brother, Ronald Nimmo of Duncan.
Joyce Grooms
Joyce Marie Grooms, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 in Holdenville at the age of 85.
She was born Oct. 10, 1926 in Wewoka, Okla. to Louie and Minnie Myrtle "Myrt" Woods Dodd.
She graduated from Wewoka High School and later married J.B. Norman on Aug. 23, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant Texas.
They made their home in Wewoka and started a family with two children: Gary Don Norman and James " Jimmy" Boyd Norman.
J.B. Norman passed away in an automobile accident in 1955.
Joyce later married O.B. Grooms on Aug. 8, 1960 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Wewoka.
She worked many years as a sales clerk at Allen's Ready To Wear in Wewoka.
She loved to play golf and in, her younger years, ride horses and dance.
She was famous for her homemade chocolate pie, her quick wit and her very matter-of-fact personality. To say the least, Joyce could always make you laugh.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband J.B. Norman; husband O.B. Grooms; her two sons, Gary and Jimmy Norman; sister, Dorothy Scribner and her husband H.W.; and brother-in-law Floye Crittenden.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva Crittenden of Wewoka; daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Norman of Wewoka; grandchildren; Kim and husband Brad Childers of Ada, Nikki and husband Tommy Azlin, and Brad and wife Angie Norman, all of Wewoka; great-grandchildren, Logan, Laci, and Lane Azlin, Blayne, Baylie, Emma and Eyan Norman, all of Wewoka, Spencer and Sarah Kate Childers of Ada; and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 14 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating.
Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Logan Azlin, Blayne Norman, Spencer Childers, Lane Azlin, Eyan Norman, Brad Childers, Tommy Azlin, and Brad Norman.
Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth and Lewis Johnson, Zane Smith, and Jim Chadick.

John Grove
John Herman Grove, age 80, resident of Oklahoma Veterans Center of Sulphur and former resident of Konawa died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
A wake service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 30, 1931 at Sacred Heart to Arthur Patrick Grove and Anna Catherine (Kuestersteffen) Grove.
He graduated from Asher High School and worked as a farmer and as a warehouseman for Al Semtner Drug Depot in Dallas for about twenty years.
During the Korean War, he served as a Military Police Office for the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Anna Catherine Grove; two brothers, Christopher and Joseph Grove; four sisters, Sis. Mary Tarsicius, R.S.M., Theresa Sanders, Emma Semtner, and Monica Moran; and one nephew, Pat Grove.

Melody Guinn
Melody Lynn (Hurst) Guinn, 59 year-old, longtime Seminole County resident passed from this life July 10, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City.
She was born Aug. 26, 1952 in Seminole to parents "J.C." Hurst and Jimmie Louise (Pittman) Hurst.
Melody graduated from Maud High School in 1970.
On Oct. 22, 1969, Melody married Ronald Lance Guinn in Maud.
Shortly after their marriage Lance took a job with Elder International, a Houston, Texas based company.
The company had contracted to build homes for the United States Air Force in Karmasel, Turkey and the island of Crete (Greece).
This gave Melody and Lance the opportunity to visit many foreign countries.
When the couple returned to Seminole County, Melody worked for Furmon’s Grocery Store in Maud for several years.
She then went to work at Knight Funeral Home in Maud where she worked for many years before her retirement.
Melody and Lance lived in Orange Beach, Alabama for the last few years where they had made many friends before returning back to Seminole County.
Melody was a member of the Maud Historical Society, the Maud Chamber of Commerce and the Maud Fire and Police Auxiliary.
Melody leaves to cherish her memory her husband of almost 43 years, Lance Guinn of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy (Guinn) Brown and her husband Bennie Brown of Seminole County; two sons, Tyrel Guinn and Shane Osborn of Oklahoma City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David Hurst and his wife Phyllis (Loudermilk) Hurst of Huntsville, Texas and Robert "Bob" Hurst and his wife Norma (Birkicht) Hurst of Maud; four grandchildren, Hayden Cleary, Warren Cleary, Ethan Harjo and Steven Brown; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerry Guinn and his wife Gracie (Hurst) Guinn of Grove, Oklahoma, Willard "Buster" Brock and his wife Tresha (Wiley) Brock of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Jered and Joan Guinn of Oklahoma City, Jake and Kristen Guinn of Richardson, Texas, David Brock of Norman, Dale and Angie Norman of Spring, Texas, Tony and Mindy Hurst of Texas, Tim and Cindy Hurst of Texas, Paul and Doris Hurst of Texas, Kim and Larry Lassabe of Spring, Texas, Kelly Hurst of Texas, John and Mikela Hurst of Shawnee, Neal and Dawn Hurst of Eufaula, Robin Hurst of Maud and a host of other family and dear friends.
Melody is preceded in death by her parents "J.C." and Jimmie Hurst; by one brother, Raymon Hurst; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary (Foster) Brock-Guinn and Jack Guinn.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Performing Arts Center "P.A.C." at Konawa High School. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.
Rev. Marvin Kehl and Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
