Ogden – Our beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend, Ayo "Hawk" Gene Haney, passed away on Dec. 25, 2012.
He was born on July 24, 1979 to Lawrence Haney and Deborah Baca Muro in Ogden, Utah.
Ayo enjoyed cooking and spending time with his brother, nephews, and cousins.
He is survived by his mother, Deborah Muro; father, Lawrence (Becky) Haney; two brothers, Isaiah Cervantes and Micco Haney; and one sister, Malisa Haney.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at the Seminole Hitchitee United Methodist Church and Cemetery in Seminole, half mile off Hwy 99A, five miles east of Hwy 99; where a wake will be held Sunday, Dec. 30. Burial to follow the service.
James Hardison
James Neil Hardison was born on May 24, 1944, in Prague, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Prague, at the age of 68.
James, the son of Neil Van and Laura Evelyn (Porter) Hardison, was a life-long resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School with the class of 1962 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague and the Prague Masonic Lodge. He worked as a truck driver. His parents and son, James Neal Hardison, preceded James in death.
Survivors include his fiancée, Debbie Cumpton; brothers and sister-in-law, Bob and Joyce Hardison of Prague; grandchildren, Jamie and Wyatt Hardison.
The Hardison family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10 a.m., at Calvary Way Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
Ava Harjo
Ava Elizabeth Harjo, infant daughter of Michael Allen Harjo and Rachel Nicole Hollingsworth died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She is survived by her arents; one sister, Renee Harjo of Oklahoma City; her grandparents and great grandparents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial at Snake Creek Cemetery northeast of Seminole. Rev. Sandy Harjo will officiate at the service.
Jeremy Harjo and Travis Hollingsworth will be casket bearers.
Cheyna Harjo
Cheyna Danielle Walters Harjo, 20, of Anadarko, died Jan 1, 2012 in Anadarko.
She was born Oct 23, 1991 in Shawnee, to John Wayne Walters and Tomi Postoak.
She married Gabriel Hummingbird on Dec 19, 2006 in Anadarko.
Cheyna is survived by her husband, Gabriel of the home; one son, Gabriel Hummingbird, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Joquetta Rae Hummingbird of the home; father and step-mother, Dawn Lasley and John Wayne Walters; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Ethleen Harjo; maternal grandmother, Wanda Postoak; two brothers, Johnathon "Harjo" Walters and Gage "Harjo" Walters; five sisters, Jacey "Harjo" Walters, Jordan "Lasley" Walters, Taran "Harjo" Walters, Jessica "Harjo" Walters, Nikkea "Harjo" Walters and Autumn Walters.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Tomi Postoak, Aunt Rebecca Postoak, grandparents John and Elizabeth Lusty and great-grandparents Apler "Habon" Walters and Liman Postoak.
Wake Service will be 6:00 p.m., Friday, Jan 6, 2012 at the Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan 7, 2012 at the Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa. Burial will be in the Postoak Family Cemetery in Holdenville. Leon Postoak and Jimpsey Harjo will officiate at the services.

Cora Harjo
Cora (Davis) Harjo was born January 6, 1919 to Sunday and Ilsey (Caesar) Davis in Sasakwa.
She passed away Thursday, May 24th, 2012 at her residence in Sasakwa at the age of 93 years.
Cora married Rev. George W. Harjo in 1935.
She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, as well as singing, quilting, gardening and living the real country life.
On July 25, 1925 she was baptized by Rev. Fulka Harjo with Spring Baptist Church, Saskawa.
Preceding Cora in death are her parents, husband Rev. George W. Harjo, daughter Pauline Harjo, four grandson, three brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include seven daughters, Lucy Harjo and husband Edward of Wewoka, Wisey Harjo of Sasakwa, Elsie (Jean) Tecumseh of Henryetta, Kathryn Harjo of Sasakwa, Amanda Gipson and husband Bill of Sasakwa, Polly Ann Owl and husband Abraham of Stillwell, Toni Fixico and husband Johnny of Wewoka; one son, Willie Harjo of Sasakwa; son-in-law, Carlee L. Harjo of Konawa; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty great-grandchildren; fifty-three great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Wake Service will be Sunday, May 27, 2012 6:00 p.m. at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
The body will be taken to Rock Spring Indian Baptist Church Monday at 4:00 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service.

Donald Harjo
Donald Ray Harjo, age 76, of Caldwell, died Wednesday at his home in Caldwell. He had been in poor health for the past four months.
Harjo was born June 20, 1935, in Edna, Oklahoma and was the son of Wesley Harjo and Juanita Keys Harjo Smith.
He moved to St. Francis County in 1976, was a retired truck driver, and was a Veteran of the Korean War.
He married Lorna Pettyjohn in 1960, and she survives him along with two sons, Justin Harjo of Caldwell and Casey Harjo of Florida; one daughter, Joni Meador of Heth; step-father, E.E. Smith of Eufaula; two brothers, Jimmy Joe Harjo of Oklahoma and Ernie Smith of Maumelle, Arkansas; two sisters, Betty Lou Hargrove and Lajuana Patrick, both of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He had one daughter, Sharon ‘Bucky’ Williamson, who preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Effie Harjo
Effie Lena Harjo of Wewoka, passed away Wednesday, May 16th, 2012 at the age of 93 years at Holdenville Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1919 to Titusie and Lona Carpitcher.
She was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where she served as women's leader since 1971.
She was baptized in 1934 by Rev. Louis Harjo at the age of 15 years.
Effie married Jonah Muska Harjo in Sasakwa.
She was a homemaker, and caregiver to her many grandchildren.
She loved to serve her Lord along with gardening, singing, cooking and visiting with her family.
Survivors include one son, Rev. Jimsey Harjo and wife Betsy of the home; two granddaughters that she raised, Michele Harjo and Melissa Johnson and husband Russell of Wewoka; eleven grandchildren, Cynthia Poafpybitty, Teresa Thlocco, Jennifer Harjo all of Wewoka and Kimberly Leetka of Shawnee, Sheila Carter and Joni Harjo of LA, Daniel Harjo, Thomas Harjo, Michael Harjo all of Wewoka; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Walters of Sasakwa; two brothers, Bunny Carpitcher of Seminole and Cully Carpitcher of Sasakwa, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding Effie in death are her parents; husband, Jonah Muska Harjo; daughter, Joan M. Harjo; two sons, Michael "Big Bunny" Harjo and Thomas; two great-grandsons; four sisters, Eliza, Christine, Zelda, and Irene; four brothers, Andrew, Sam, Alfred, and Harry.
Pallbearers will be Greg Poafpybitty, EricThlocco, George Tiger, Chris Leetka, Daniel Harjo, and Thomas Harjo.
Effie will be taken to the home Friday afternoon, May 18, 2012 for a Wake Service.
A Wake service is scheduled at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
The body will be taken Sunday afternoon to Rock Springs for a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at Rock Spring Baptist with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Eugene Harjo officiating and burial to follow at Wilson-Harjo Cemetery.

Herbert Harjo
Herbert N. "Hap" Harjo, a Seminole county resident passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 73.
Hap was born, Jan. 1, 1939 in Wewoka to parents, William Bill Harjo and Bessie (Ceasar) Harjo.
Hap graduated from New Lima High School and Haskell Indian Jr. College, Lawrence, Kansas and he also attended the University of Oklahoma.
He retired from Lucent Technologies of Oklahoma City, where he was a printer.
Hap was known in the state for playing Men’s Indian Fast Pitch Softball and bowling in Indian leagues.
Hap married Susie (Walker) Harjo on June 27, 2009 in Wewoka.
Hap was a member and ordained elder of the Hilltop Indian Presbyterian Church, he served on the Seminole Nation General Council Representative for the Ocese Band, served on several Seminole Nation boards and commissions.
He recently received special recognition by the General Council for his dedication and service to the members of the Seminole Nation.
He is survived by his wife, Susie of the home; three sons, Michael Harjo of Oklahoma City, Brian Watson of Norman, Bronson Harjo of Okemah; one daughter, Felicia Harjo of Oklahoma City.
He is also survived by one granddaughter; one sister, Ruth Jane Reschke of Wewoka.
Other survivors include brother-in-law, Sam Johnson and a host of nephews, nieces and two lifelong friends, Larry Spybuck and Leon Lusty.
Hap was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bessie Harjo and one sister, Lucille Johnson.
Wake service will be held 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Tekvpvchee Methodist Church of Holdenville with Rev. Paul Fixico officiating. Burial will take place at the Harjo Family Cemetery, Wewoka.
Casket bearers are Larry Spybuck, Leon Lusty, Terry Spencer, Curtis Kinney, Harry Walker, Jeff Harjo.
Honorary bearers are his nephews, Sonny Johnson, Eddie Johnson, Mark Johnson, Chuck Johnson and Wendell Reschke.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.
