ADA — Services for Clara Mae Grissom, 67, Ada, are 10 a.m. Thursday at Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Revs. Earl Blankenship and Glen Eaves officiating. Burial follows at McGee Cemetery, Stratford.

Mrs. Grissom died April 4, 2004, at Ada. She was born March 2, 1937, in Galey to Curtis Tood and Ruth Wood Blevins.

She and James Howard Grissom were married Nov. 24, 1955, at Artesia, N.M.

Mrs. Grissom was a homemaker and a member of Highway Tabernacle. She had lived in Ada for the past 35 years.

Survivors include her husband, James Howard Grissom, Ada; two sons, Douglas Wayne Grissom and wife Katrina, Marlow, and James Allen Grissom and wife Vickie, Ada; a daughter, Debbie Claborn and husband James Jr., Ada; three brothers, Curtis Blevins, Beeville, Texas, Bob Blevins, Artesia, N.M., and Steve Blevins, Hobbs, N.M.; three sisters, Gayle Patterson, Bridgeport, Texas, Carrie Knowleton and Diann Payne, Artesia, N.M.; six grandsons; and a great-grandson.

Bearers are grandsons Joel Grissom, Clint Clayborn, Chad Clayborn and Mark Grissom; and John Daniel and Wayne Walker.

Honorary bearers are Craig Grissom, Kyle Grissom, Trevor Claborn, and the men of Highway Tabernacle.

ADA — Services for Cleo Mae McLish, 79, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Stephen Nation officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. McLish died April 5, 2004, at a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 5, 1924, at McAlester to Walter and Verdie Heady Barnes.

She attended Irving School and Ada High School.

She married Bill McLish June 26, 1967. He died Dec. 29, 1991. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Meek and husband Robert, Ada, and Loretta Strelko and husband Tom, Stoystown, Pa.; a son, Jerry Roles and wife Jane, Ada; two brothers, Bill Barnes, Utah, and Virgil “Shorty” Barnes, Ada; one sister, Lois Wilson, Ceres, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scotty Jones, on Oct. 4, 2002.

Bearers are Ronnie Carpenter, Gerald Carpenter, Larry Jones, George King, Jeff King and Chris Hames.

ADA — Graveside services for Vera Ray Bray Towler, 77, Ada, are 2 p.m., Tuesday at Oakman Cemetery, the Rev. Terry Pearce officiating.

Mrs. Towler died April 2, 2004, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born May 25, 1926, in Arkansas to Lehman and Martha Lafevers Bray. She retired from Ada Wrangler after 30 years of service. She married Leo Towler at Ada in 1942. He died Dec. 1, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Charles Bray.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Pearce, Ada; a son, David Towler, Lamar, Ark.; two brothers, James Bray, Ada, and Joe Lee Bray, Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Michael and Kenneth Pearce, both of Ada, John Towler, Lamar, and Samantha Patterson, Garden City, Mo.; and nine great-grandchildren, Devyn, Michelle and Dawson Pearce, all of Ada,; Brittni and Austin Haungs, Fort Sill, Luke Pearce, Ada, Rebecca Patterson, Harlingen, Texas, and Nikki and Ashley Patterson, both of Garden City.

Mrs. Dillman died April 2, 2004, at a local hospital. She was born July 8, 1923, at Centrahoma to William Henry and Dora Lee VanHoosier Singleton. She attended school at Centrahoma.

She lived in Velma and Marlow before moving to Ada 11 years ago. She worked as a waitress for many years and was a Baptist.

She married Raymond Leon Fox. He preceded her in death in 1956. She later married Loren Dillman in 1963 at Velma. He preceded her in death in 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Danny Fox in 1987; two granddaughters, Sherri Brown in 1980 and Robin Fox in 1977; a grandson, Jeffery Fox in 1992; a great-granddaughter, Melanie Morse in 1986; three sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Fox Brown and husband Jerry, Roseburg, Ore.; three sons, Charles Fox and wife Anita, Harrah, Larry W. Fox and wife Judith, Ada, and Bobby Fox and wife Janet, Lindsay; two sisters, Ida Wilson, Ada and Nell Montgomery, Denison, Texas; three brothers, Walter Singleton, Henry Singleton and wife Hazel, all of Ada and Bill Sneed and wife Peggy, Ontario, Calif.; seven grandchildren;21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
