Clifton Jackson

Clifton Wesley Jackson, 50, lifelong resident of Wewoka passed from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada after a hard fought battle with lung cancer.

He was born Feb. 18, 1962 in Cortez, Colorado to T.C. and Kathryn (Campbell) Jackson.

After graduating from Wewoka High School, Wesley spent most of his life in the oil field or doing construction work with his best friend, business partner, and brother, David.

Those that knew him know how much he loved his family, both biological and non-biological.

He was always laughing and loved to make others laugh, too.

He was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, both as a rider and mechanic, and when he wasn’t working or riding, he was doing yard work or cooking/grilling.

There wasn’t much he couldn’t do, which included learning how to use Facebook.

He was a truly good man, and would do almost anything to help someone in need.

Wesley attended and was a member of Blessed Rock Free Will Baptist Church of Wewoka.

He is survived by his mother, Kathryn Jackson of Wewoka; one brother, David Jackson of Wewoka; three sisters, Brenda Summers of Roff, Susan Parks of Wewoka, and Julia Keesee of Holdenville; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He had no children of his own, but considered himself grandfather to four children through a prior marriage.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tolbert Clifton (T.C.) Jackson.

Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at Blessed Rock Free Will Baptist Church with burial at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Pastor Sam Ketcher will officiate the services.

Casket bearers are Jonathan Zeb Summers, Matthew Summers, Cody Keesee, Kyle Pipken, Michael Davis and Mickey LaValley.

Honorary bearer is Tolbert (Tolby) Parks.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Blessed Rock Free Will Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Funeral services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Da’Kera Jackson

Baby girl Da'Kera Jackson was born and died on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 in Oklahoma City.

She is survived by her mother Teera Danna of Wewoka; brother and sisters, De'Aszyah Olden, Daymond Robertson, and De' Era Robertson and grandparents, Katrina Jackson and Arnell Kemp both of Wewoka.

Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 21, 2012 at Thomas Town Cemetery in Sasakwa, with Rev. Reginald Woods officiating.

Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, Wewoka.

David Jackson

David Roy Jackson died March 31, 2012, in Acton, CA.

Jack was born in Jenks, on Nov. 11, 1915 to Neavill (Sloan) and Franklin Jackson.

He went to school in Jenks until the 7th grade and then went to Bowlegs where he graduated high school in 1934.

After high school he attended East Central University in Ada, graduating in 1939.

He taught industrial arts at Butner.

He moved to Seminole in March of 1944 and went to work for Lane Wells Co.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Jackson; sisters, Lois Spiller and Frances Morse and his wife, Winnie.

He is survived by his sons, David, Richard, Dennis; daughter, Ellen Perkins; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and his companion of the last 17 years Betty Pearson.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1101 N. Wheeler Ave. in Sallisaw at 2:00 pm, April 17, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, please, make a donation to the nearest hospice or the Sequoyah County Public Library.

Earl Jackson

Earl Uriah Jackson, longtime Seminole resident, died Friday, March 30, 2012 in Seminole at the age of 90.

He was born Sept. 30, 1921 south of Stroud to Ida May (Spradling) and Uriah Jackson.

On Feb. 14, 1940, Earl married Ocie D. Stotler in Paden.

He worked as an auto mechanic at the Broadway Garage in Seminole for many years.

Earl is survived by his wife, Ocie of the home; two sons, Jimmie Jackson of McLoud, and Ronnie Jackson of Shawnee; one daughter, Peggie Goforth of Seminole; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, one niece and one grandson.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2012 at Little Cemetery north of Seminole with David Pollard officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Margie Jackson

Margie Jackson, 93, of Binger, Okla., passed away, Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 in Binger.

She was born June 20, 1919 to John Alford and Ruth Ida (Brinlee) Elliott in Konawa.

Margie was raised in Konawa and attended Cook School walking one mile to school each day.

She married Chester Arthur Jackson on July 2, 1939 in Konawa.

She attended Wallace Ave Baptist for many years. No matter where her house was she always made it a home.

Margie enjoyed quilting later in life making close to 100 quilts.

She loved spending time and visiting with the people at Shawnee Senior Center. Margie never met a stranger and could talk to anyone.

She was a very organized pack-rat and enjoyed keeping news clippings of family and friends.

Margie was a very hard working woman and loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Jackson; daughter, Dorothy Ann Prewitt; grandson, Patrick Jackson; great-great grandson, Gabriel Scott Prewitt; and sisters, Mary Jane Kinnamon and Dorothy Elliott.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters and sons-in-law, Margie Helen and Doyle Sexton of Asher, Martha Ruth and Kenneth Hester of Seminole, and Mary Beth and LeRoy Wilhelm of Ft. Cobb, OK; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Glenn Monroe and Patricia Jackson, of Davenport and Paul Wayne Jackson of Oklahoma City; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Emma Stockton of Tecumseh, Betty Lou Sandusky of Tishomingo, Ida Faye Kinnamon of Shawnee and Alice Dean Adams of Moore; brother, John Elliott of Tuttle; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 and 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carl Whitefield officiating.

Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Martha Jackson

Martha Elizabeth Gallahon Jackson passed away Oct 31, 2012.

She was born May 12, 1925 in Holdenville, she was 87 years young.

Martha was employed as a Key Punch Operator with U.S. Government Civil Service Department.

She was preceeded in death by parents Shirley James and Mary Elizabeth Gallahon.

She was the last of six siblings.

Margie Allene Callaway, Callie Mae Weaver, James Franklin Gallahon, Hattie Mae Massey and Mary Alice Gallahon preceeded her in death.

She lost three husbands to death, Hugh J. Lester, "Buddy" Sherrin and Jim Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wilson (Billy) Florence, AL and son, Hugh J. Lester, Jr. (Linda Sue) Bonaire, GA. Two step-daughters, Joy Gallion (Ernie) of Crystal River, Florida and Jamie Washington (Larry) of Sacramento, CA; Eight grandchildren, Eight great-grandchildren, and 11 Great-great grandchildren.

The services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012 at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity of your choice.

Katie James

Katie Mae James, age 64 and resident of Wewoka died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at her home.

She was born November 4, 1947 in Okemah, Oklahoma to parents Rosevelt Gilbert and Dorthy Mae (Embery) Gilbert.

Katie had attended Bearden High School and later married Dewey James; he preceded her in death in May of 2002.

Survivors include three children Jerry Blackshire, Tracy James and Stacy James, all of Wewoka; three brothers, Clifford Gilbert, Eugene Gilbert, Roy Lee Gilbert all of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Katie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and by one sister.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located at 1001 N. Milt Phillips Ave. in Seminole, Oklahoma. Internment will follow at Bearden Cemetery in Bearden, Oklahoma.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Elizabeth Jefferson

Elizabeth R. Jefferson died Feb 14, 2012 at the age of 91.

She was born on June 20, 1920 in McLoud, to Frank Reed and Jennie (Murdock).

She married Benjamine Jefferson and he preceded her in death in 1997.

Elizabeth served in the United States Navy where she was a nurse.

She is survived by her children; Jenny Alejos, James Jefferson and Ethleen Harjo all of Oklahoma, and Sharron Villarreal, Jose Villarreal and Virginia Apodaca all of Colorado.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, Feb 20, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hurshel Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Baptist Cemetery in Sasakwa.

Pallbearers will be James Walters, John Walters, Abe Walters, Tony Walters, Jesse Alejos, Carlitos Alejos and James Jefferson.
