Floyd Jenkins

Floyd Jenkins, 72, Allen, Oklahoma resident, died Thursday, Feb 16, 2012 at Midwest City, Oklahoma.

He was born on July 1, 1939 to Clarence and Viola Jenkins in Mansfield, Louisana. Floyd was the second oldest of 16 children.

Floyd attended Desota High School and Grambling State University where he played basketball, football and baseball. He excelled in athletics and continued to play basketball at the semi-professional level for Maddock Ice and various other teams over the years.

Floyd met and married the former Rovan Morrison and they were married for 48 years and had one child. His daughter, Joyce (Stella) Ann Garrett, preceded him in death.

Floyd worked for the Civil Government for over 30 years in various positions including optics and pest control at the McAlester Army Ammunition Depot in McAlester, before he retired in 1993.

Floyd was very active in the church and was an ordained Deacon for over 25 years through his passing.

He was a very loving, kind, loyal, compassionate man, who loved and lived his life for God. He had a heart for people and never met a stranger for he embraced all people.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Rovan and granddaughters, Mia Spring and Marisa Garrett and great granddaughters Sharee Garrett all of Englewood, Colorado; thirteen brothers and sisters, Horace Jenkins and his wife Shirley of Sacramento, Calif., Shirley Abraham, Will Jenkins, Sr. and wife Sophia of Denver, Colorado, William, Teresa, Adkins and Patricia Jenkins, Rodrick Jenkins and his wife Tanya and Angela Jenkins of Mansfield, LA., Wanda McMillon and her husband Booker of Shreveport, La, Lena McMillon and husband Emmitt of Keatchie, LA; Marilyn Dotson of Elbert, La; Kathlynn Barnes and husband Eddie Sr. of Spring, Texas; and Ernestine Williams and husband Charles of Houston, Texas, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Jenkins Sr., and brothers Jack and Clarence Jenkins Jr.

Funeral services are planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 301 S Mekusukey in Wewoka, with burial at St. Matthews Cemetery east of Seminole. Rev. Larkin Byrd will officiate at the service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Charles Johnson IV

Charles S. Johnson IV was born on Oct. 24, 1953 to Charles S (Jiggs) and Susie Ann Kilcrease Johnson.

The angels came for him on April 26, 2012 after a long illness at the age of 58 years.

He married Carol Taylor on April 28, they were married for 30 years, she survives him of the Wewoka home.

One son and daughter-in-law, Charles S. Johnson V and Audrey of Wewoka; two daughters Carly Johnson and Phoenix Ivey of Cherokee, North Carolina. He is also survived by grandchildren Taylor, Adrianne, Ashton, Awee, Rayven, Xihanna of Cherokee, NC, Samual, Brian, Anthony, Makenna, Kayla, Jasmine, and Daisy of Wewoka; two brothers Lewis and wife Geri Johnson of Wewoka, Stanley Johnson of Holdenville; sister-in-law Terri Johnson of Wewoka; three sisters Corrine and Jose Johnson, of Sasakwa, Susan and Dan Faulkner and Mary Jacobs of Wewoka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews who loved him very much and a host of other relatives and friends and relatives.

Preceding him in death are his parents, great aunt Betty Lewis, brother Steve Johnson, niece Stacey Johnson, nephew Davey Jacobs.

Charles attended Compton Grade School, Cowart Jr. High and Wewoka .

He was a proud member of the Wewoka Tiger Band and was selected to attended Boy's State.

He attended East Central University, Haskell Indian Jr College, Northeastern State University where he studied Criminal Justice.

After completing his education, he was employed by Lawrence Kansas PD, Dodge City, KS PD, Seminole County Sheriffs Dept, and Unalaska, AK PD which he retired, as a sergeant, and returned home to Oklahoma.

After returning to OK, he became involved with the Seminole Nation of OK as a General Council Representative for the Tallahassee Band He served as SNDA Representative and served on the Roads Committee.

Wake service are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Saturday April 28, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Tiger Jr. officiating .

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012 at Hilltop Presbyterian Church, Wewoka and burial to follow at Stevens Family Cemetery.

The body will be taken to the Church at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Pallbearers will be the nephews William Johnson, Fransisco Johnson, Stanley Johnson II, Canaan Johnson, Charles Jacobs, and Joshua Taylor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Fraternal Brotherhood of Law Enforcement from Seminole County Sheriffs Dept, Lawrence Kansas PD, Dodge City, KS PD and Unalaska, AK PD.; Flower girls will be the granddaughters and nieces.

Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Rudolph Johnson Sr.

Rudolph Johnson Sr., a resident of Ardmore, died Thursday, Jan 12, 2012, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 85.

Rudolph was born on Jan 5, 1927 in Wewoka to Charlie Johnson and Hinney (Simmer) Johnson.

Rudolph grew up in the eastern Oklahoma towns of Wewoka, Henryetta and Okemah. He also attended school at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas. While he was attending trade school at Haskell, Rudolph joined the Army National Guard. Following his completion of schooling, he joined the regular U.S. Army where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1945.

Rudolph married Etta Postoak in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 21, 1992.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his father; a daughter, Arlene Johnson; a brother, Jerome Stanley Johnson; and a sister-in-law, Ramona Harjo.

He is survived by his wife, Etta of the home; four daughters, Zita Marie Medicine of Henryetta, Ann Hornedeagle of Horton, Kan., Velma Delores Blacksmith of Horton, Kan., and Karen Thomas of Horton, Kan.; three sons, Rudolph Johnson Jr. of Horton, Kan., Randolph Lee Johnson of Powhattan, Kan., and Noah Aaron Johnson of Lawrence, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Austin Amos Harjo of Muskogee, Josh Harjo of Canadian, and Amon Harjo of Anadarko; and a stepson, Robert McDonald of Ardmore.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan 13, 2012, at Salem Baptist Church in Salem, Okla. Private committal services will be held in Horton, Kan., at a later time.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta, Okla.

Deenna Johnson

Wewoka resident, Deenna Mae Johnson died Monday, Jan 2nd, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years.

Deenna was born Jan 4th, 1960 in Talihina OK to Raymond and Barbara (Harjo) Johnson.

Deenna graduated Wewoka High School, and was a homemaker for her children.

Deenna is preceded in death by her father, and one grandson.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Harjo; children, Sheila Carter, Daniel Harjo, Joni Harjo, Thomas Harjo, and Michael Harjo all of Wewoka, Oklahoma, twelve Grandchildren, and four Great Grandchildren, Brothers Andy Johnson of Seminole, Curtis Johnson of Guymon, Sisters Vickie Lockett of Harrah, Cindy Burton of Yukon, Josie Hazelton of Okmulgee, and Ann "Jiffy" Deatherage of New Lima.

Wake Service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday Jan 5, 2012 at the Ministry of Life Church in Wewoka.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday Jan 6, 2011 at the Ministry of Life Church in Wewoka with Rev Danny Fualkner and Rev. Houston Tiger Officiating.

Interment will follow at The Stevens Family Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma

Gurdon Johnson

Gurdon A. Johnson of Wewoka went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 2, 2012 at his home in Wewoka, at the age of 80.

He was born Feb. 23, 1932 to Robert E. and Arlene Johnson in Adona, Arkansas.

He married Ruby Rinkle on Oct. 18, 1952, to this union four children were born.

Ruby preceded him in death in 2004.

He married Janice Bevelhymer on Oct 12, 2007, she survives him of the home.

He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean conflict.

He was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He loved the Lord with all his hearts and served Him with the best of his ability. He dedicated his life to the Lord as an ordained deacon at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church for nearly 50 years. He served as the adult Sunday School teacher and weekly shared the gospel of Jesus Christ to inmates at the Seminole County Jail.

He was a tender hearted man who loved to help those in need.

He always had a smile on his face.

He was quick to tell a joke and had a heartfelt story for every situation.

He owned and operated Johnson’s General Store at the 5 mile corner for over 40 years.

He along with his son, Dewayne opened Johnson Tire Store in Holdenville in 1985 and remained working there until the day the Lord called him home.

We look forward to one day seeing him again in heaven.

Gurdon is survived by his wife, Janice of the home; one son, Dewayne Johnson and wife Karen, three daughters, Saundra Morris and husband Tom, Donna Abercrombie Kimrey and husband Don, Mary Sanderson and husband Ray all of Wewoka; one sister, Betty Sanders of Oklahoma City; one brother-in-law, Harry Lee Pollard and wife Phyllis of Eugene, OR and one sister-in-law, Norareen Johnson of Moore. Grandchildren, Jason Morris and wife Amber, Scott Johnson and wife Sheena, Nathan Abercrombie, Stefanie Renfro and husband Danny, Ethan Sanderson and wife Christa, and Rachel Sanderson. Great grandchildren, Lora, Jacob, Tyler, Abbey, Blaine, Cason and Jayce.

Gurdon was preceded in death by one grand-daughter, Bethanie Abercrombie Crawford, his parents, Robert and Arlene Johnson, seven siblings, Lee Ella Hisaw, Audra Smith, Coleman Johnson, Al "Ob" Johnson, Bill Johnson, Robert Johnson and Don "Sonny" Johnson.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Jason Morris, Scott Johnson, Nathan Abercrombie, Ethan Sanderson, Jacob Morris and Danny Renfro.

Honorary pallbearers are David Johnson, Earnest Davis, Art Cranfield, Ray Cresap, Leon Barnhart, Byrl Barnhart and Tommy Kiker.

Services are at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church located SW of Wewoka on Friday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. Pastors Martin and Donna Gustin will be officiating the services along with nephew, Rev. Harold Rodebush. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka.

Services are under the direction of Phillips Funeral home.

Jimmie Johnson

Funeral service for former Wewoka resident Jimmie James Johnson are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Seminole with Pastor Clive Cochran of Rock Hill Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Westwood Cemetery.

He died Sunday April 15, 2012 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 52.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Ronald Johnson

Services for Ronald "Ronnie" Gene Johnson, 62, formerly of Edmond will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at the Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel.

His family’s endearing nicknames for him, included "Big Ole Bro" and "PapaPunk".

Ronnie was born Aug. 22, 1950 in Oklahoma City.

He proudly served our country as a door gunner/photographer during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Army.

He earned his Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Oklahoma.

His hobbies and interests included computers, fishing, traveling and photography. His favorite time was spent with his grand babies. He enjoyed baseball and OU football.

Ronnie’s greatest achievements were surviving the war and also graduating college; his proudest moments would be the birth of his children and grandchildren whom he treasured.

He attended St. Mark’s Lutheran church when residing in Edmond and most recently, Konawa United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pamala Keller Johnson and brother-in-law, Warren Keller.

Ronnie is survived by his parents, Glenn and Margie Johnson; wife, Donna Jo Johnson of Konawa; son, Scott Johnson and Kim of Moore; daughter, Angie Rohrer and husband Daniel of Yukon; daughter, Jeannie Cox and husband Richard of Manford; Marie Prewett and husband Kelly of Konawa; 14 grandchildren, Devin Johnson, Stephanie Jasso, Trenton Rohrer, Jake Rohrer, Emily Rohrer, Gabby Rohrer, Dylan Johnson, Aylssa Johnson, Amanda Prewett-Coffin, Keelan Prewett, Jarod Prewett, Braden Prewett, Richie Cox, Brittany Cox-Combs; one great-grandchild, Trenton Combs; three sisters, Valora Standlee and husband Pete, Vanessa Workman and husband Eddie, Pam Sheherd and husband Gerry; two brothers, Russell Johnson and Ray Tumey; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends as well as his best friend, Royston White.

Services are entrusted to the care of Baggerley Funeral Home of Edmond.
