Molly Patterson

Funeral services for well-known Seminole resident Molly Patterson are planned for Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Seminole.

Molly died at her home Friday, August 17, 2012 at the age of 85.

She was born Madeline Ann Dubie on July 13, 1927, in Colchester, Vermont

Her parents were Frank Amos and Elizabeth Adral (Cassan) Dubie; she was one of nine children.

Patterson attended Cathedral High School, where she graduated with honors in 1944.

She attended secretarial school in Boston.

She worked for Champlain Valley Group for nine years, then for Vermont Structural Steel for three years.

She married D.D. Patterson on April 18, 1958, in St. Albans, Vt.

Her husband was serving in the U.S. Air Force, so they moved to Sumter, S.C.

She worked for Williams Furniture from 1958 to 1967.

The family, which now included four children, moved to Yakota, Japan, for two years, then to Honolulu for a year.

They arrived in Seminole in 1970, where they immediately joined Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Patterson worked as librarian at Wilson Elementary School from 1973 to 1979, and then for her family’s oil business until 1989.

She went to work for J. Smart Company in 1989, and retired in 2005.

Patterson has been involved with many organizations and volunteered with many more during her years in Seminole.

She was a tireless member of Beta Sigma Phi, Church Women United and the Seminole Chamber of Commerce, where she was a frequent volunteer.

At her church, she was sometimes known as "Father Molly, " greeting every member and visitor who came through the door, typing church bulletins and handling and organizing church events throughout the years.

She was active in the church’s Altar Society, holding every office, and guiding new officers and members through 42 years of First Communions, confirmations, Christmas parties, May crownings and bingo parties.

She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, with the Rotary Club’s Christmas dinner, and at Interfaith Ministries’ food pantry.

She was a volunteer with the Pink Ladies, and was named Volunteer of the Year by Integris Seminole Hospital; for that honor; she was the "pin up Girl" on this year's calendar.

She was once named Volunteer of the Year by Melvin Moran, who chose three volunteers to honor for their work in Seminole.

Patterson founded the Maple Grove Chapel Association, raising money for the cemetery and the restoration of the historic old chapel on the cemetery grounds, where she will be laid to rest.

She is survived by her husband, D.D., of the home.

Other survivors include her sons, Frank (Jennifer) Patterson of Houston, Rick (Amy) Patterson of Seminole, and her daughter, Beth (Linda) Gerwe of Dallas.

Grandchildren include Addy of Norman, Anna of Columbia, Mo., James of Dallas, Justin of Austin and Nolan of Frisco, Texas.

Also surviving her is one sister, Jeannette Legleitner of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends who adore her.

Patterson was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, three brothers, and her beloved son, Dr. Glenn Patterson, who died Sept. 7, 1990, in Moses Lake, Wash.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2012 with Catholic Rosary following at 7:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery of Seminole.

The casket will remain open during visitation and rosary at the funeral home, but will not be open at the church for services.

Casket bearers will be Larry Smith, David Wilson, Vic Kennemer, Dr. Gus Shi, Bill Parsons and Audie Woodard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Moran, Ron Null, Steve Saxon, Gene Hawk, Bob Webster, Don Gill, Ken McDaniel, Bill Jones, Bill Wantland, and Dr. Chayne Fisher.

Beverly Patton

Wewoka resident Beverly Jean Patton, age 45 died Wednesday, Feb 22, 2012 at her resident after a short illness.

She was born April 29, 1966 in Wewoka, to the late Tommy Olden and Dezeree Garfield.

She graduated from Weleetka High School.

She previously worked for Oakrdige Nursing Home as a CMA.

She is preceded in death by her father, brother Tony Ray Olden

Survivors include mother, Dezeree (Garfield) Brashaw, step-father Rev. H.P. Bradshaw, children Michael Patton, of Yukon, Christopher Patton of Wewoka, Johnathan Patton of Wewoka, and Ashley Chupco of Seminole and four grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Kirk Garfield, Adolph Garfield, Anthony Bradshaw, Alethia Woodmore, Claude Bradshaw, Horace Bradshaw Jr., Cindy Bradshaw, Tommy Olden, Mary Olden, and Judy Olden.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Tuesday, Feb 28, 2012 at New Life Church, 121 W. 12th, Wewoka, with Rev. John Tottress officiating, and burial to follow at Thomas Town Cemetery, Sasakwa, OK.

Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Beulah Perrin

Beulah Mae Perrin died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 in Tulsa.

She was born Jan. 13, 1923 in Blackburn, Okla. to C.B. and Leota Milburn Perrin.

She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1945 with a degree in Education.

She taught for Wetumka Public Schools before returning to OSU, where she earned a Master’s degree in 1954.

She taught at Seminole Public Schools for over 20 years as an elementary teacher and reading specialist.

She is survived by brother, Paul Perrin of Tulsa.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Okla., with Rev. Don Brown officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home in Pawnee, Okla.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74133., www.clarehouse.org, or a charity of choice.

Bruce Peterson

Bruce Peterson, 54, of Corvallis was called home by our Lord and Savior on Oct. 12, 2012.

Bruce was born July 16, 1958 in Edmond to parents, Clinton and Eva Sue Peterson.

He moved to Oregon in 1999.

From his younger years, Bruce displayed a quiet tenacity, strong work ethic and faith in God that carried him through life.

Bruce loved boxing and as a young man, he won the Golden Glove Boxing title for the Junior Olympics in 1975.

He also enjoyed time with his family, camping, Sooners and Beavers sports, horseshoes and the Oregon coast.

Bruce often could be found enjoying a game of disc golf with friends, his two grandsons he helped care for, and his dog, Shelby.

As his health declined in later years, Bruce approached all obstacles with determination. Enduring multiple transplants, illness and cancer, he never complained.

Those who knew and loved Bruce always will remember him as a humble, gracious, dignified man whose inner strength shone through until his final breath.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy; his son, Christopher; stepdaughters, Adrienne and Angela; and siblings, David, Larry, Gary, JoAnn and Cathy.

He also leaves behind multiple nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will take place today, Oct. 16, at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Corvallis.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Benton Hospice Service or a place of choice.

Service arrangements were by Twin Oaks Funeral Home.

Annetta Petit

Annetta Joyce Petit, former Seminole county resident died April 17, 2012 at the age of 73.

She was born, June 27, 1938 in Oklahoma City to parents, Woodrow Merle Foster and Ruby Mae (Marchant) Foster.

She retired from the Seminole county school system.

She married Bonnie I. Petit on Oct. 10, 1953 in Archer City, Texas.

She is survived by one son, Jimmy W. Petit of Pottsboro, Texas; one daughter, Sherrie L. Griffith of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, June Douthit of Seminole, four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Tim Martin officiating.

Wanda Pfeifer

Wanda Yvonne Simpson Pfeifer was taken to Heaven on May 30, 2012 at the age of 88. She is now a part of heaven and earth.

Wanda was born is 1924 in Cardin, OK; her family moved to Maud at an early age when her father was transferred to the Sinclair oil lease and lived in a tent.

She attended Seminole public schools where she was a part of the glee club until her father was transferred to Bristow. She graduated from Bristow High School, a member of the state honor society.

She later attended Braum Business School in Tulsa and worked for an insurance company.

Wanda met her first husband, Kenneth Roebuck, a career U.S. Army soldier, and had one daughter, Debbie Roebuck.

They traveled and lived in many Army bases including Africa and Europe.

Following her divorce from Kenneth, Wanda found her high school sweetheart, Virgil Pfeifer who had lived at an adjacent oil lease in Seminole growing up.

After having been separated by World War II, they were married in 1974 and made their home in Corpus Christi.

She went to work for Corpus Christi Army Depot, and Virgil worked for Koch refinery.

Wanda and Virgil retired in 1986 at the age of 62 and traveled extensively for their retirement.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Debbie and her three children, Skye, Beau and Brooke Leland; daughters-in-law, Elle, Stephanie and granddaughters, Marlee and Annee.

She is also survived by Virgil’s children, Linda Pfeifer, Odessa Landry, and Dewayne Pfeifer and their children and numerous grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by Virgil’s daughters, Glendoris and Virginia.

Wanda is entombed at the Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christie, Texas.
