Thelma Richardson, 97, passed away Feb 15th, 2012, in Tyler, TX of natural causes.
Born at home on Jan 7, 1915, to Myra Deborah and William Henry Cousey.
Thelma was a life long resident of Oklahoma until three years ago when her declining health made a move necessary.
Thelma grew up on a farm in the old Butner community where she graduated from high school, Valedictorian of her eight grade class, she continued to be an excellent student in high school, especially in math.
Thelma was captain of her high school basketball team and the team's champion free throw shooter. In addition, she played softball.
Thelma remained an avid fan of OU football and basketball.
On a snowy Jan 21, 1937, Thelma married William Arthur (Art) Richardson in Wewoka. Their union was ended by his death on Aug 1, 2000.
One daughter, Shirley Ann was born to them on Dec 31, 1938, in Wewoka.
The family remained in Oklahoma during Art's career as a gauger for oil companies and upon his retirement Thelma and Art moved back to Wewoka.
Following her baptism in 1948, Thelma remained a faithful member of the Church of Christ until her health no longer permitted her to attend services. She sometimes taught children's Bible classes.
She was an excellent seamstress and cook especially known for her homemade lemon and chocolate meringue pies.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Shirley Ann and Ed Hightower, Tyler, TX; granddaughters; Sean Carlin, San Antonio, TX: Shelley McDonald, Longview, TX; Susan Hightower, Austin, TX; grandson Edwin E. Hightower, Jr. St. Petersburg, FL, and five great-grandaughters; Annelise, and Gracie Carlin, San Antonio, TX, and Sophie, Hannah, and Olivia McDonald, Longview, TX; sister Gertrude (Gertie) Coder, El Paso, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gus, Lee, Suler, Elmer, and Willie Coursey and sister Beulah Morris.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb 18, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, with Aaron Alsbrook of Church of Christ Wewoka, officiating.
Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home, the family will receive guest from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.
Harold Riggle
Harold William Taft Riggle, age 103 and a resident of Asher passed away at his home on Thursday, June 21, 2012.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25th at Wanette Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.
Kevin Duck and Frank Brewer will officiate.
Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Bobby Riggle, Eddie Riggle, Jr., Billy Riggle, Jr., Kevin Riggle, Chris Riggle, and David Riggle.
Honorary pallbearers are Philip Idell, Kenneth Morgan, Steven Donnelly, Jason Loyd, Daniel Graham, and Bob Shepard.
Visitation will be at Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Harold was born on June 17, 1909 in Asher to Edward Harrison Riggle and Nora Alice (Havens) Riggle.
He married Lillian Maurice Wallace and was the Water Superintendent for the City of Asher.
He enjoyed playing the harmonica and raising cattle.
He is survived by five sons, Billie Joe Riggle and wife, Nancy of Konawa, Bob O’Dell Riggle and wife, Stella of Asher, Charles Ray Riggle of Asher, Calvin Lee Riggle of Oklahoma City and Scotty Harold Riggle of Asher; one daughter-in-law, Karen Riggle (widow of Eddie Riggle); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Harrison Riggle and Nora Alice (Havens) Riggle; his wife, Lillian Maurice (Wallace) Riggle; one son, Eddie Daniel Riggle, one daughter, Cora Fay Riggle; two brothers, Heber Elridge Riggle, and Eli Edward Riggle; and four sisters, Veva Eddna (Riggle) Romi, Mary Marecka (Riggle) Perkins, Loretta Amonda (Riggle) Boyce, and Gladis Pearle Riggle.
Ruby Robertson
Ruby Lee (Martin) Robertson, 81 year-old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at Integris Seminole Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 2, 1931 in Seminole to parents, Ezra Lee Martin and Ida Belle (Stuart) Martin.
Ruby married Roland Robertson on July 12, 1948 in Seminole.
Ruby was a member of the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 64 years, Roland Robertson of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris Ann "D’Ann" and Mark Harris of Edmond, Shirley and Guy McDaniel of Edmond; one sister, Pauline Wilcox of Seminole; three grandchildren, Shelly Pogue, Tammy Sellers and Brent Gentry; five great-grandchildren, Rylee Pogue, Montana Sellers, Mason Sellers, Payton Gentry and Myles Gentry; as well as a host of other family and dear friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Lorene Dillon.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Friday, Sept 28, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with Pastor Jeff Nance officiating.
Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole.
Casket Bearers will be Jeremy Sellers, Cris Pouge, Buster Wilcox, Mark Harris, Brent Gentry and Guy McDaniel.
Honorary Bearers will be Earl Robertson, Jimmy Don Wilcox, James Robertson, Terry Dillon, Ricky Allen and Jackie Meeks.

He was a member of the NEA, OEA. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben William and Mary Ellen (Black) Roblyer; wife, Vieva (Martin) Roblyer; brothers, John, Emmitt, Wayne, Vincent, Raymond, Jack Roblyer; sisters, Juanita Plunk and Opal Oyler.
Survivors include daughter, Renee’ Holladay from Pauls Valley; son, Kenny Roblyer of St. Petersburg, FL; sister, Fern Burris of El Reno; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Craig Dishman, Stephanie Holladay, Kelley and husband, Rob Denny, Corey Roblyer, great grandchildren, Emma Dishman, Lila Dishman, Jake Holladay Thomson, Vieva Denny due in November. Joe Rodgers
Joe Rodgers Jr., 90, died March 8, 2012 after a period of declining health.
Joe was born in Konawa to Joe and Mary (Doolen) Rodgers.
He graduated from High School in 1939. He enrolled at Oklahoma State University when war broke out in 1941.
Joe proudly served his country as a navel Lieutenant J.G.in the Pacific during World War II.
After the war, he went back and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Oklahoma State University.
He married Helen Lynn.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen (Lynn) Rodgers and brother, Jim Rodgers.
He is survived by his two sons, Barry of Cathedral City, CA, Craig of Los Angeles, CA, wife, Linda of the home; sister, Wanda Baresel of Oklahoma City and sister-in-law, Geneva Rodgers of Konawa.
Burial will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
Troy Roundtree
Troy W. Roundtree was born in Davenport, Okla. on Sept. 25, 1928 to Nannie Elender Roundtree and William Finas Roundtree.
He died on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.
Services were held in Balersfield Ca., at Kern River Family Chapel on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012. He was 84 yrs of age.
He was a resident of Cromwell for 33 years.
He is survived by one sister, two children, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
