Mary Frances (Froese) Shirley, 68 year old Seminole resident passed from this life Thursday, May 3, 2012 at her home in Seminole.
She was born June 28, 1943 in Claremore to parents Juanita Pauline (Knox) Froese.
Mary graduated from Inola, Oklahoma High School.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater; she also attended Rose State College in Midwest City.
On Dec. 11, 1987 Mary married Aubrey Shirley in Gainesville, Texas.
Mary has worked as a Real Estate Sales Associate for Remax in Shawnee for the past fifteen years.
She was also a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs.
Mary was also proud of her Cherokee heritage.
Survivors include her husband of almost 25 years, Aubrey Shirley of the home; step-children, Anita O’Steen of Seminole, Corkey Shirley of Tulsa, Janet Marrow of Graham, Oklahoma, Phillip Shirley of Ardmore; step-grandchildren, Casper Warren and his wife Tammie, Michael Warren, Stephen Shirley, Arron Shirley, Melissa Shirley, Chyenne Morrow, Monica Morrow, Lindsey Morrow, Ricky Moore and his wife Jamie, Kelby Moore, Brendon O’Steen; seven great-grandchildren, Karley, Rebel, Tyren, Baron, James, Alyssa and Phebe Warren; one sister, Dorothy Goodin of Claremore; one brother, Larry Froese of Inola, Oklahoma; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and by one brother, Bobby Arthur Froese.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 at the First Assembly of God Church in Bowlegs. Pastor Roy Robertson will officiate the service.
Internment will follow at Foster Cemetery in Foster, Oklahoma (west of Elmore City).
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Robbie Shultz
Robbie Ray Shultz, 57, Wewoka resident died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 in Tulsa.
Robbie was born March 28, 1955 in Perry, Okla., to Ray E. and Willene Y. (Pricer) Shultz.
Rob worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer in his early career, later he was a lay Minister in San Antonio, Texas.
Robbie was recently pursuing a degree to obtain a Masters of Divinity to become a Christian Counselor.
Rob was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wewoka and active in scouting programs, while in Boy Scouts he earned his God and Country Badge.
Robbie is survived by his daughter, Kara Shultz of Colorado; two brothers, Doug Shultz of Oklahoma City and Brad Shultz of Prague; a sister, Raylene Shultz of Wewoka and a special friend, Debbie Piersing of Coyle, Okla.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 at the Strothers Historic Chapel at Maple Grove Cemetery on West Strother Street, in Seminole. Jay Badrey will be officiating at the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Wewoka Fellowship of Christian Athletes, 301 S. Mekusukey, Wewoka, Oklahoma 74884.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
David Shurley
David Lee Shurley, of Wewoka died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at the age of 47.
He was born May 26, 1965 in Wewoka to William Dale Shurley and Lucille Mae Harper.
He grew up in Wewoka and attended Wewoka schools and went on to Seminole State College.
He previously worked for Kelsey Hayes as a security guard.
He is preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Anna and Alfred Harper.
Survivors include his mother, Lucille Gibson of Bartlesville; twin sister, Karen Shurley of Wewoka; and brother, Greg McMullen of Sapulpa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Abraham Jackson officiating and burial will follow at Harper Family Cemetery.

Larry Siler
Larry Edward Siler of Seminole passed away Friday, Dec 30, 2011 in Houston, Texas.
He was born March 11, 1941 in Seminole to Cecil and Ethel (Turner) Siler.
Larry was a truck driver by trade before he retired.
He liked to fish and loved to visit with friends and family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Weldon Siler and one brother-in-law, JB Barlow.
Larry is survived by one son, Martin Siler and fiancé Marcia Thompson of Seminole; one grandson Austin Siler of Seminole; one brother, Ronnie Siler and wife Louis of Bowlegs; two sisters, Linda Issacs and husband Ronnie of Konawa and Barbara Ann Barlow of Seminole. He is also survived by nieces, Amy Self and husband Kenneth, Christy Underwood and Rhonda Issacs. His nephews, Doyle Barlow, Gary Barlow and Michael Jess Issacs also survive him.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wolf Cemetery.
Barbara Simonton
Barbara Simonton of Lindsay, Okla., died Friday, March 9th, 2012, at Lindsay Manor Nursing Home in Lindsay.
Simonton was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 16, 1928, to Ralph Boyd and Berchie (Raines) Boyd.
She graduated from Seminole High School.
She married Earl LeClair "Red" Simonton on March 10, 1948, in Rawlins, Wyoming.
They moved their family to Lindsay in 1962.
Simonton worked at an auto parts store for several years. She served on the Lindsay City Council and served two terms as Mayor of Lindsay.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 9, 1999.
Simonton is survived by her sons; Danny Simonton of Lindsay, Bobby Simonton of Norman and Steve Simonton of Tulsa; one sister, Allie Lampton of Hugo; and seven grandchildren.
Survivors also include 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Lindsay, with Pastor Randy Allen officiating and Clint Simonton assisting.
Interment followed at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay. Services were under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay.
Donna Sisco
Services for Donna Kay Sisco are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at Hilltop Family Life Center with Rev. Russell Ryker officiating and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 15, 1945 in Hugo and passed away Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 in Holdenville.
Donna was a legal secretary for Victor Pryor for 41 years.
She loved to cook, garden, and work crossword puzzles.
She was a member of Hilltop Family Life Center.
She is preceded in death by father, Elbert Moore and brother, Gary Moore.
Survivors include mother, Geneva Moore Winkle of Muskogee; son, Jeff Sisco and wife, Sara of Wewoka; granddaughter, Kaelyn Sisco of Wewoka and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Thornton, Scott Aldridge, Robert Griffith, Ryan Brewer, Jimmy Jett Jr. and Donnie Brewer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be men of Hilltop Family Life Center, Victor Pryor, Michael Daggett, Roy Griffith, P.D. Brown, Jacky Brown, Charles Anderson, and Bobby Powers.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Calvin Skaggs
Calvin Edgar Skaggs, 87 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed from this life Monday, May 28, 2012 at his home in Seminole.
He was born June 30, 1924 in Eakley, Oklahoma to parents Jessie Mae (Brisendine) Skaggs and Luther Winters Skaggs.
Calvin graduated from Eakley High School in 1941 and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard where he earned the American Theater Ribbon, the European Ribbon and the Victory Ribbon.
On Sept. 15, 1979 Calvin married Donnie Mae (Knight) Sharber in Houston, Texas.
Calvin worked for TG&Y Stores Co. for 38 years, retiring as a District Manager in 1985.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Seminole.
Calvin was also a 32-degree Mason and a member of the Shriner organization in Wichita, Kansas.
Calvin leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 33 years, Donnie Mae (Knight) Skaggs; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jackie and her husband Hal Jones of Lake Quivira, Kansas and Kelly Frank of San Antonio, Texas; one step-daughter and her husband, Kathy and David Ross of Broken Arrow; one step-son, Don Sharber of Okemah; one sister, Beulah Mae Beadles of Great Bend, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Louise Wood of Clovis, New Mexico and Louise Yuskol of Columbia, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Mark Calvin Skaggs and an infant baby boy; five brothers, Floyd Skaggs, Eugene Skaggs, Luther Winters Skaggs Jr., Leslie Skaggs and by one infant brother Lewis Skaggs; one sister also preceded Calvin in death, Gladys Davidson.
The family will be receiving friends at Swearingen Funeral Home, Thursday evening, May 31, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church located at 910 Wrangler Blvd. in Seminole with Military Honors. Pastor Gary O. Wilburn will officiate the service.
Internment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
Casket bearers will be Ken Beadles, Ron Skaggs, Bob Skaggs, Gary Brown, Gary Duncan and Joe Rokovich.
Honorary bearers will be Harold Dean Davidson, Royce Skaggs and Lon Beadles.
The family request any donations in memory of Calvin can be made to the Heritage House 210 West College in Seminole.
The family has entrusted Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole with the funeral arrangements.
David Smith
David Leroy Smith, 61-year-old Seminole resident died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at his home.
He was born Sept. 12, 1950 in Idabel to parents Wiley Paul Smith and Letha (Williams) Smith.
He worked as a tree trimmer and moved to Seminole 15 years ago.
Survivors include his mother, Letha Smith of Seminole; two sons, Davey Smith of Okemah, Steve Smith of Seminole; three brothers, John Smith of Seminole, Steve Smith of Seminole, Harold Smith of Skiatook; five sisters, Ruth Smith of Seminole, Sandra Edings of Checotah, Brenda Scott of Texas, Elaine Bledsoe of Sallisaw, Regina Sexton of Madill and one grandson.
Graveside services were held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Smith Family Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
