Herb Walker, age 79 and a lifelong resident of Konawa, passed away on Monday, Feb 20, 2012 at Solara Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb 23 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa will officiate, and Rev. Mike DeMoss will assist. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the United Methodist Men.
Herb was born on Aug 16, 1932 in Riviera, Texas to J. Herbert Walker and Ophelia (Rhodes) Walker.
He married Yvonne Johnson on Dec 21, 1956 in Konawa.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from East Central University of Ada, Oklahoma, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He spent 36 years as a rural mail carrier for the Konawa area, and was also a farmer.
Herb was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, the American Legion, United Methodist Men, and the Rural Letter Carriers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Walker of the home; one son, Darrel Walker and wife, Lani of Konawa; one daughter, Emily Fixico and husband, Stan of Konawa; two sisters, Joy Dyer and husband, Frank of Blackwell, Oklahoma and Lenora Barnett of Hobbs, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Meagan and Kirsten Walker, Jessica Fixico, and Erin Mitchell and husband, Glenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Ophelia Walker; and two sisters, Patricia Walker and Mary Lou Hobbs.
Lorene Walker
Seminole resident, Lorene Johnson Walker passed away on Saturday, April 7th in Oklahoma City at the age of 78 years.
Lorene was born Sept. 30, 1933 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma to George H Johnson and Iley Johnson.
Lorene graduated Bowlegs High School and was a homemaker for her children.
She loved to cook, sewing, cleaning and take care of children.
Lorene is preceded in death by her husband George Walker; children, Robyn Walker Sr., Michael Walker, Racheal Kaulity, Robert Stumblingbear and Eugene Stumblingbear.
She is survived by her children, Karen Stumblingbear, Lavonna Stumblingbear of Shawnee, Daryl Walker of Seminole, Horace Stumblingbear of Lexington, Reuben Stumblingbear of OKC; grandchildren, Felesia Walker, Robyn Walker Jr., Felix Walker all of Seminole, Jason Stumblingbear of Bartlesville, Patrick Stumblingbear of OKC, Randall Stumblingbear of Seminole, Gerald Stumblingbear of Shawnee, Sherrie Chupco, Lucinda Chupco of OKC, Quentin Chupco of Shawnee, Leticia Stumblingbear, Alecia Stumblingbear of OKC, Dannye Stumblingbear, Josh Stumblingbear, and James Stumblingbear of OKC. Many Great Grandchildren and a host other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Walker family Cemetery with Reverend Houston Tiger officiating.
Pallbearers are Robyn Walker Jr., Isaiah Berryhill, Randall Stumblingbear, Anthony Stumblingbear, Seth Berryhill, and Jason Stumblingbear.
Honorary Pallbearers are Quentin Chupco, Michael Berryhill, Matthew Stumblingbear, Patrick Stumblingbear, Reuben Stumblingbear, and Daryl Walker.

Glenda Walton
Glenda Jenell (Scott) Walton, 68, of Sasakwa died in her home Oct. 31, 2012.
She was born Dec. 23, 1943 in Tulsa to the late William (Les) Scott and Opal G. Scott of Holdenville.
She married Burnie J Walton, Oct. 9, 1963 and lived in Sasakwa.
She was an avid basketball player in her high school years and played softball as an adult.
She also enjoyed taking her boys fishing and camping.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Burnie Walton; two children, Leslie Walton of Sasakwa and Buddy Walton of Choctaw; two grandchildren, Heather Walton of Chickasha and Joshua Walton of Norman.
Glenda who always thought of others first decided to donate her body to research.
There will be a grave side service announced at a future date.
Richard Walton
Richard Leslie "Dick" Walton, 68, Seminole resident died Friday, July 13, 2012 at his home in Seminole.
He was born June 19, 1944 in Wewoka to Walter and Elvarita (Caton) Walton.
He was an auto mechanic and had worked at several automobile dealerships in the Oklahoma City Metro area and his last employment was with Southwest Ford in Oklahoma City.
He had formerly worked at Oklahoma Publishing Company and the Water Department at Midwest City.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He married Betty E. (Norris) Walton in Ada in June of 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Walton of the home; five sons, Keith Walton of Del City, Dan Walton of Midwest City, Richard Walton of Oklahoma, Robert Barthelemy of Norman and John Bartelemy of Midwest City; four daughters, Rona Fuller of Lawton, Erin Foreman of Durant, Tracy Cochran of Del City and Tina Deck of Bowlegs; two sisters, Jan Miller of Harrah and DeeAnn Ramsey of Jones; 28 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Little Cemetery.
Rev. J.R. Reed will officiate at the services.
Military Honors will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Craig Carpitche, Cale Carpitche, Clayton Carpitche, Steven Brown, Ray Griffin and Jeffrey Walton.
Honorary bearers will be Bud Miller, William Walton, Dion Bleer and Gary Taylor.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Robert Warden
Robert Carl Warden, 74, longtime Seminole resident died Friday, Feb 24, 2012 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He was born July 20, 1937 in Paden to Ennis Green Warden and Velma Lee (Tye) Warden.
Robert Carl lived in the Prague and Seminole areas for most of his life.
He was retired from the oilfields where he worked as a Roughneck for many years.
He is survived by five brothers Melvin Warden of Yukon, Floyd Warden of Meeker, Russell Warden of Shawnee, and Johnny Warden and Jessie Warden both of Seminole; three sisters, Elsie Hill of Seminole, Rosie Soule of Bowlegs, and Linda Hoskison of Seminole. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sons, Ronnie, Ricky, Mikeal and Gary Don Warden and a daughter Cecelia Warden.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, Feb 27, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Brent Hoskison officiated.
James Warner
Funeral Service for James (Jimmy) P. Warner are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Wewoka. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Warner passed away on Feb 2, 2012 at the age of 76.
He was born in Okemah, to Plesa and Cleo (Harjo) Muirhead on Feb 20, 1935.
He attended Okemah High School.
He entered the US Navy April 22, 1957 and served on the USS Falcon as equipment operator until Oct 25, 1957. Later he worked overseas and in Alaska on the North Slope.
He will be remembered as an avid horseman.
Preceding him in death are his parents, and wife Mary of 43 years.
Survivors include wife Joyce of the home; daughter, Debbie Northrup and husband Jack of Portland, OR; son, David Warner of Seminole; grandson Chris Jones of Shawnee; step-son Wes Pedigo of Wellston; step-daughters, Linda Martin of Ft. Worth, TX, Liz Grooms of OKC; five step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Deane Mosley and husband Leon of Wewoka, Carolyn Pumphrey and husband John of OKC, Alex Muirhead of Newalla, Linda Francis of Moore, Norma Sanchez and husband Frankie of Moore, Rick Muirhead and wife Rhonda of OKC; nineteen nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Wes Pedigo, David Muirhead, Kent Roulston, Mark Mosley, Heath Mosley, and Terry Mosley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Chaddick, Zane Smith, Earl Bevelhymer, and Kayle Smith.
Arrangements are by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
Kate Warren
Kate Warren passed away peacefully in her home in Camarillo, California on June 26, 2012, at the age of 92.
She will be severely missed by her family and friends.
She was always ready to help anyone and often was delivering food, flowers or time to her friends.
Kate was also an excellent cook, and the holidays just won't be the same without her amazing secret recipe dishes.
She remained active right until the day she passed.
During her last week, she was gardening and made apricot turnovers.
Being an excellent seamstress as well, she was altering a new blouse until midnight after a recent shopping trip.
Her energy and kindness constantly amazed us.
Kate was born on Dec. 12, 1919, in Oklahoma.
In her high school years, she was the homecoming queen for Mountain View High School and enjoyed attending many annual reunions in Seminole.
Kate was a homemaker as well as working several jobs, including being one of the "Rosie the Riveter" girls in Oakland during WWII.
Her passing was preceded by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Nichols and her sisters, Juanita Cline & Mildred Post of Seminole.
Kate is survived by her son, Michael (Margie) Williams of Camarillo; grandchildren, Sheri (Michael) Valley of Camarillo, Carrie Williams of Santa Monica; great grandchildren, Vanessa Valley of Los Angeles, Scott Valley of Camarillo; nieces, Barbara Shoemaker of Illinois, Pat Atyia of Oklahoma; nephews, Jimmy Ray Post of Kansas, Nick Post of Oklahoma, David Lee Post of Oklahoma.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, July 6, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m..
Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 N. Milt Phillips, Seminole, (405) 382-3456.
Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery of Seminole.
