David Lee Harjo died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at the age of 39, in Ada.
David was born June 27, 1970, in Talihina, to Franklin and Lizzie Harrison Harjo. He married Wanda Lindsey Harjo on Sept. 4, 1994, in Konawa,
He is survived by his wife; parents; step children, Cathy and Ron Clutter, of Konawa, David Moore, of Sasakwa, and Glenn Moore, of Noble; grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Harjo, Charlie Harrison, and Lillie Walters Harrison.
He was baptized at the age of 16 by Rev. Franklin Harjo Sr. at Rock Springs Baptist Church, on Oct. 4, 1986. He graduated from Sasakwa Schools. He was employed by the Seminole Nation as a Security Guard at the River Mist Casino.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday Aug. 25, 2009 at Bird Creek Church in Sasakwa at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend John Wayne Tulsa officiating and Rev. Kenneth Cooper assisting. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery, in Sasakwa.
Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Wewoka Oklahoma.
Eugene Harjo
Sasakwa resident Eugene Harjo, age 67, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Carl Albert Hospital.
He was born Nov. 9, 1941 in Seminole County to Joe and Minnie (Davis) Harjo. He graduated from Sasakwa High School.
He was a member of Spring Baptist Church, Tallahassee Band.
He served in the Vietnam War and worked for Seminole Nation as Plumber.
He is preceding in death by his parents; sister, Irene Coody; brothers, Jimmy Joe Harjo, Jimsey Harjo, and Albert Harjo.
Survivors include his sons Darrell Harjo, of Sasakwa and Eugene Harjo Jr., of Vamoosa; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Jess Harjo, of Kansas.
Wake Services are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Spring Baptist Church.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Spring Baptist Church, with Rev. Joe Coon and Rev. Leon Postoak officiating and interment at Harjo-Davis Family Cemetery.

Joe Harjo
Former Wewoka resident Joe Albert Harjo died Feb 13, 2009 in Shawnee, at the age of 69.
He was born June 20, 1939 in Sasakwa, to Albert and Minnie (Buck) Harjo. He graduated from Sasakwa High School and attended Haskell Indian College, in Lawrence, Kan. for two years. He was a member of Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church.
At the time of his death he was retired from Mobil Chemical as a Machine Operator.
He married Fannie Tiger Oct. 13, 1979 in Shawnee, and to this marriage three children were born.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, Fannie Harjo; son, Ronnie Allen Harjo, of Norman; daughters, Stephanie Ann Bills, of Edmond, Sonya Denise Rogers, of Carmie, Ill.; five grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Cully.
Preceding him in death are his parents Albert and Minnie Harjo, sister Sereda Sue Sanchez, and brother Steve Allen Harjo.
A Wake service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church, with Pastor Joe Coon and Pastor George Harjochee officiating. Burial is to follow at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church Cemetery.

Kenneth Harjo
Longtime Seminole resident Kenneth Wayne Harjo passed away on Aug.23, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 62.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma, to Taylor and Cindy (Deere) Harjo. He was a truck driver and worked for B.J.’s Hughes, Hooten Oil and Tiger Trucks.
He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and Hitchitee United Methodist Church; he was saved 10 years ago.
He married Wynona (Wood) Harjo and she survives him of the home, he also leaves to cherish his memories, three sons and daughters-in-law: Keith and Renee Douthit, of Meeker, Tim and Polly Harjo, of Maud, Stace and Holli Harjo, of Seminole, and one daughter and son-in-law: Brandy Harjo and Mike Beal, of Joplin, Missouri, and a granddaughter that was raised as a daughter, Kristen Alldredge, of the home, three brothers: Bill Tiger, of Norman, Oklahoma, Larry Deere, of Seminole and Charles "Pop" Deere, of Sherman, Texas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews and other family and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Stanley Harjo and Taylor Harjo, Jr. and stepdaughter, Tammie King.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 at the Hitchitee United Methodist Church with Rev. George Harjocee and Mike Harjo officiating. He will be laid to rest at Hitchitee Church Cemetery.
A wake will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Hitchitee United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. The church is located in Little on 99A go East Approximately 6 miles to Church Sign then go North 1/2 Mile.

Leroy Harjo
Leroy Harjo, age 61, formerly of Seminole, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in Sacramento, Calif.
He was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Talihina, to Amos and Lucille May (Larney) Harjo.
He attended Central High School and later joined the Marines. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was raised by his aunt Roselie Lena, of Seminole.
He is preceded in death by his mother; sister, Betty Harjo; and brother Bobby Harjo.
He is survived by his wife, Cindi Sue, of the Home: father; step-mother, Patriciam of Oklahoma City; children, Jovita Harjo, Adrienne Harjo, Renita Harjo, Rebecca Harjo, Shaun Mulhall, and Holly Anderson; twelve grandchildren; brothers, Leon Harjo, David Harjo, Arthell "Pewee" Harjo, Josephine Harjo, and Christopher Harjo; and sister, Shirley Biggs.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Spring Baptist Church, Sasakwa with Rev. Billy Joe Harjo officiating, and burial to follow at Harjo Family Cemetery.

Patricia Harjo
Lifelong Seminole county resident, Patricia Michelle Harjo, age 47, died May 13, 2009 in Tulsa.
She was born Dec. 20, 1962 in Tulsa, to Jonas Harjo, Sr. and Diana (Wolf) Harjo.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond Harjo, Jr., and Ryan Tiger, both of Seminole; daughters, Alicia Harjo, Ashley Harjo, Tiffany Harjo, Tyshan Harjo, Stephanie Harjo, and Eliza Harjo, all of Seminole; brothers, Ray Wolf, of Texas, Nathan Harjo, of Broken Arrow, Jonas Harjo, Jr., of Oklahoma City, Tommy Harjo, of Choctaw, Dorsey Harjo, of Holdenville, Douglas Harjo, of Tulsa, Jerome Harjo of Shawnee, and Shawn Harjo of Bristow; sisters, Diane Harjo, of Florida, Loretta Harjo, of Shawnee, Tammy Harjo, of Oklahoma City, Valerie Thomas, and Cheryl Laskey, both of Shawnee; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2009 at the Birdcreek Indian Baptist Church, in Sasakwa, with Dorsey Nero, Jesse Wind and Kenneth Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Birdcreek Indian Baptist Church Cemetery, in Sasakwa.
There will be a wake on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. She will be taken to the church on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Rosie Harjo
Rosie Anita Harjo, of Maud, Oklahoma, a life long Seminole County resident, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the age of 52.
Rosie was born on August 14, 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents Jonases and Mary Ellen Scott. Rosie was a wife, homemaker, and a member of the Achena Presbyterian Church.
Rosie is survived by husband, Albert Curley, Jr.; three stepsons, Michael Curley, of Maud, Oklahoma, Steven House, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Glen House and wife Brandy, of Maud, Oklahoma. She is also survived by two stepdaughters, Darla Curley, of Seminole, Oklahoma and Emily Clarkson, of Meeker, Oklahoma. Rosie is survived by brothers, Leon and Randy Harjo, both of Maud, Oklahoma and sisters Joanna Harjo and husband Curtis Gentry, of Konawa, Oklahoma, and Kathie Hurst and friend Mike Steele, of Maud, Oklahoma, Rita Harris and husband David, of Maud, Oklahoma, Jeannette Harjo-Codd and husband George, of Staten Island, New York, Toni and Michael Morgan and Tiffany and Michael Parker, of Blackwell, Oklahoma. She is also survived by godson, Cody Williams, of Maud, Oklahoma; stepson Edward Shawn, of Hackett, Arkansas; 17 step-grandchildren; and 2 step-great grandchildren on the way.
Rosie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lee Harjo, her father and mother, Jonases and Mary Harjo, and a stepdaughter Janet Harmon.
Services for Rosie will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the People’s Church of Maud, Oklahoma with Rev. Jimsey Harjo officiating and assisted by Bunny Carpitcher.

Wynona Harjo
Life long Seminole County resident Wynona Ann (Wood) Harjo, age 66, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009 in Meeker. She was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Seminole to Jimmy Wood and Flora (Harjo) Wood.
She graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1960 and later married Kenneth Wayne "Ollie" Harjo on Feb. 14, 1977, in Seminole County.
She was a homemaker who also had worked in the home health care industry.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Douthit, of Meeker, Oklahoma, Tim Harjo, of Maud, and Stace Harjo, of Seminole; daughter, Brandy Harjo, of Joplin, Mo.; brother, Hershell "Rusty" Wood, of Edmond; sisters, Nila Fulton, of Oklahoma City, Laverne Shaffer, of Springfield, Mo., Zelda Cline, of Shawnee, and Ida Chilcote, of Sulphur; and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Tammie King.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole. Rev. George Harjoce and Rev. Mike Harjo will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Hitchitee Cemetery located 5 miles east of Little, on Hwy 99-A.

Janet Harmon
Janet Harmon, age 44, of Carnegie, passed away Friday April 10, 2009 at her residence.
Janet was born June 3, 1964 to Albert and Jo Ann Curley, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was united in marriage to Billy Harmon, on November 3, 1999, in Carnegie. She was a member of the Nazarene Church. in Carnegie.
She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Tom Fuller; grandparents, Helen and Pinkie Determan; uncle, Joe Gregory; and mother-in-law, Barbara Harmon.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Harmon, of the home; two sons, Scottie Harmon and wife Crystal, of Carnegie and Billy Don Harmon III, of Carnegie; three daughters, Krista Harmon, Danielle Harmon, and Kristin Harmon, all of Carnegie; mother, JoAnn Fuller, of Alfalfa; father, Albert Curley and wife Rosie, of Maud; brother, Michael Curley, of Maud; sister, Darla Ann Nelson and husband Nathan, of Seminole; and two grandchildren, Kyler and Karlen Harmon, of Carnegie.
Funeral Services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Nazarene Church, in Carnegie. Rev. Chip Perkins officiated the service with interment at Carnegie Cemetery, in Carnegie.
