Jimmie Ray Lena Sr., age 69, died Jan. 26, 2009, at Unity North Hospital, in Shawnee, after a long fight with cancer. Many family members were at his side.
A wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Stout-Phillips Chapel. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
He was a member of the Wewoka Indian Baptist Church. He was baptized in a pond, which was covered in ice and had to be broken to enter.
He was born to Reed Frank and Lucy Coker Lena Oct. 17, 1939.
He went to school at Hilltop grade school and later to Wewoka Schools where he was on the High School football team and was nick named "Leaping Lena."
He served in the Army National Guard for 21-1/2 years before retiring as Staff Sergeant. He served as a cook for years feeding many troops.
In 1973 he went to Washington DC, to the capital building, as an interpreter representing the Five Civilized Tribes. After returning he was asked to report the speeches at many different churches for weeks later.
He spoke fluent Seminole language. He served as board member for the Seminole Nation Tribe on two occasions, the first being when he was a young man and the second time in 2002 where he held the title of Chairman.
He was an Ironworker and plumber, in Wisconsin, and many other places. The last ten years of his life he was part owner of The Wewoka Club in Wewoka.
He is survived by his close companion, Doloris Ann Hurst; sons, Jimmie Ray Lena Jr., of Earlsboro and J. Carroll Lena; sisters, Mary Louse Factor, of Shawnee, Jaunita Chupco of Seminole, Martha Ann Fairbanks, of Earlsboro, Fuby Coffman, of Tecumseh and Sylvia Taylor, of Wewoka. His parents preceded him in death along with a sister Betty Lou Lena and a brother Douglas (Cotcha) Lena.
Crystal Lindquist
Crystal Anne Lindquist, age 15, died Tuesday Feb. 10, 2009, in Holdenville Hospital due to complication of pneumonia.
She was born March 9, 1993, in Davenport, Iowa to Sherry Green. She was a tenth grade student at Wewoka High School. She attended First Baptist Church and sang in the Choir.
Surviving her are her mother, Shelly, of Wewoka; brothers, Phillip Green II, Steve Gray Jr., and Jimmy Gray; three half brothers, sisters, Christiana, Michelle, and Cynthia Lindquist.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Karen Green.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating, assisted by Rev. Jim Choate and Beth Wood. Burial is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Hazel Little
Long time Maud resident, Hazel Burch Little died Jan. 1, 2009, in Los Gatos, Calif. She was born in Maud to Bid and Myrtle Burch.
She married Troy and they moved to California when he enlisted in the Air Corp during World War II. They returned to Maud in 1970.
Surviving her are her daughters, Carolyn, of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Kaye, of Los Gatos, Calif.; grandson; and sister, Jo Bannon, of Tacoma, Wash.
Her husband Troy Little, who also grew up in Maud, preceded her in death.
She was a life long member of the Maud Church of Christ. Frank Brewer, minister of the Church, will preside over a memorial service to be held this spring at the Cummings Cemetery, in Maud.
Cremation services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud.
Juanita Lively
Juanita Bell (Jackson) Lively, 88 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Solara Hospital, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born June 27, 1921 in Seminole County, Oklahoma to parents Tom Jackson and Mattie (Mosbey) Jackson.
Juanita attended Carr City School near Maud, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Seminole First Assembly of God Church.
She married Charles William "Bill" Lively on August 31, 1940 in Seminole, Oklahoma he preceded her in death on March 1, 1995.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dennis Harviston of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother, Fred Jackson of North folk, Virginia; one sister, Mary Baxter of Moore, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and several grandchildren as well as a host of other family and dear friends.
Her parents; husband, Charles William "Bill" Lively; one son, Stanford Lee "Stan" Lively; four brothers and two sisters precede Juanita in death.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole. With Rev. Doyle Long will officiating the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Romey Lively
Romey Lively went to meet his Lord and Savior on Feb. 5, 2009, at the age of 72.
He was born June 24, 1936, to Shelton Lycurgus Lively and Mollie Grace McClanahan Lively, in Bearden.
He attended Quasada Schools and graduated from Butner High School in 1954. He began working in the oilfields at the age of fourteen and in 1971 he established Lively Electric Co., Inc.
He married Sally Wyche Nov. 20, 1981.
Romey enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, going to flea markets and spending time with his family. He was an avid collector, a trait he inherited from his mother. Romey had a zest for life and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
Romey is preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Dawn Lively; his parents; and siblings Catherine Lively, Glen Lively, Violet Martinez, and J. G. Lively.
Romey is survived by his wife Sally, of the home; daughter Mechelle; and son-in-law, Billy Bryant, of Wewoka; daughter, Stacy and son-in-law Kurt Milton, of Georgetown, Ohio; son, Bryan and daughter-in-law Laura Lively, of Milwaukie, Oregon; and daughter Julie and son-in-law Bryan Fechner, of Alva; granddaughters, Ashli Williams and husband Shane, and Brooklyn Brown and husband Vicente, all of Wewoka, grandson, Jacob Fechner, of Alva, and great-grandchildren, Vicente Brown Jr. and Addison Grace Brown, of Wewoka. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Vivian Northam, of Homeny.
He is also survived by his brothers Dale Lively, of Stigler, Dwain Lively, of Cortez, Colo., Ronald Lively, of Seattle, Wash., and James Lively and Dwight Lively, of Wewoka.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Wewoka Church of Christ with Minister Johnny Hinton officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, in Okemah.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Reed, John Gibbs, John Smart, Victor Pryor, Brett Northam, and Durl Johnson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Bryant, Kurt Milton, Bryan Fechner, Dale Lively, Dwain Lively, James Lively, Ronald Lively, Dwight Lively, and Thad Ashcraft.

Shirley Lockhart
Shirley Ann Walker Lockhart died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009. She was born March 2, 1940, to George and Mary Walter.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Berglund, of Oklahoma City, Cynthia Berglund, of Konawa, Cathy Woodward, of Oklahoma City, and Sherry Branch, of California; sons, Ricky and Kenneth Branch, both of California; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Delores, of Arkansas, Alice, of Virginia, and Elevelyn, of Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda Walter; and brother, Billy Walter.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at the Walter Wise Legion Hut, 100 W. 3rd, in Konawa.
Rodney Longest
Rodney Longest, 56, former Seminole resident died Friday, July 24, 2009 at his home, in Tahlequah. He was born in Santa Maria, Calif., on Oct. 31, 1952 to John and Shirlen (Knight) Longest.
He grew up in Santa Maria, Calif. and attended schools there, later moving to Oklahoma. He worked in the Oil Industry and Construction Industry.
He is survived by his daughters, Janessa Longest, of Edmond and Kacie Longest, of Hobart; son, Jaylan Longest, of Edmond; brother, Terry Longest, of Seminole, sister, Wanda Conner, of Seminole; and two grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Little Cemetery. Billy Sanders will officiate the services.
Mary Lookingbill
Longtime Seminole resident Mary Anna Lookingbill passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at her home at the age of 76.
She was born on April 14, 1933, in Pondera County, Montana, to Niels and Otheda Petersen.
Mary worked as an auditor at the Hampton, Days Inn and Motel 6 for many years.
She married L.R. "Bill" Lookingbill on August 16, 1963, in Long Beach, California.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Bill of the home; two sons, Lyle Lookingbill, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Loren Lookingbill, of Waco, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Leona Booth and husband Larry Wade Booth, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Alexia and Austin Booth, of Tulsa and Justin and Kristin Lookingbill, of Waco, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Niels and Otheda Petersen; two brothers, Theodore "Ted" and Harry Petersen; two sisters, Esther Brodsher and Elizabeth Petersen; and one grandchild, Anna Marie Lookingbill.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Ray Horne and Rev. Dan Factor officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, in Seminole.
Casket bearers will be: Larry Richardson, Bobby Carter, Dan Factor, Dave Anderson, Miguel Munquia, Nathan Lively and James Ingram.
Billy Loudermilk
Longtime Seminole resident Billy Joe Loudermilk died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in Shawnee, at the age of 73.
He was born April 4, 1935 in Hartford, Ark. to William "Bill" and Alta (Loftis) Loudermilk.
He married Pearl Louise (Smith) Loudermilk on July 10, 1953, in Seminole. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2006. He later remarried Mona (Villines) Loudermilk on Aug. 8, 2006 and she survives him of the home.
He worked for 51 years as a truck driver for Independent Tank Company, in Seminole.
He is survived by his wife Mona Loudermilk of the home; son, Bobby Loudermilk, of Seminole; two daughters, Brenda Barnett, of Shawnee, and Joyce Hart, of Seminole; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at Little Cemetery with Nita Moreland officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Honorary Bearers will be Cody Allison, Billy and Michael Hart, Rick Hart, Bobby Loudernilk, Jason Walls and Matthew Loudermilk.
Opal Loudermilk
Opal Loudermilk, Longtime Maud resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Norman, at the age of 90.
She was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Glenpool, to John and Myrtle (Crabtree) Driscall.
She married Herbert Lee Loudermilk Sept. 16, 1939, in Norman. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2007, after 68 years of marriage.
Opal was an outstanding lady in her community always willing to help anyone in need. She was a loving caregiver to many, especially her late husband, Herbert.
Opal loved visiting the Seminole Estates Nursing Home residents, especially her good friend Jimmie Hurst. They would visit for hours and enjoy church services and singing together in the lobby.
Opal loved riding to church with her dear friend, Gaye Etheridge, where she was a member at the United Pentecostal Church, in Shawnee. They loved each other dearly and shared many happy times together. Eating lunch together and sharing a banana split was special.
Most of all, Opal was known for her million dollar Mandarin Orange Cakes that she baked for so many. A few days ago she told her daughter, "no more cakes."
One of her grandchildren wrote in a card to Opal, "you are an amazing woman and we love you, " this feeling is shared by all of her family and friends. Opal had been very lonely the last year since her husband Herbert passed away. She was tired and ready to go be with the Lord and her loved ones. We will miss her but we are thankful she is at rest.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Hurst, of Houston, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Amos Lee Loudermilk, of Maud, Bill and his wife Bobbie Loudermilk, of Bartlesville, and Tommy and his wife Sue Loudermilk, of Mounds; ten grandchildren, Tony Hurst, Tim Hurst, Lezlea Creason, Jason Loudermilk, Ryan Loudermilk, Ashlea Loudermilk, Kathey Gaulding, Jennifer Charania, Dale Loudermilk and Brandon Loudermilk; 21 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at the People's Church, in Maud, with Vance Bowman and Roy Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery, in Maud.
