Lucy Jo Stafford, a life long resident of Wewoka, passed away on October 12, 2009, in Holdenville, at the age of 82 years.
Lucy Jo was born April 20, 1927 to E.R. (Reid) and Jonne N. (Wright) Perkins. She was married to James (Jim) Stafford on March 9, 1949 and of this twenty-five year union, two sons were born.
Lucy Jo was a big presence in a small package for many years in and around Wewoka. She is survived by her son and daughter-in- law James R. and Sandy Stafford, of Holdenville; and son, John D. Stafford, of Atwood; her grandson, Sonny J. Stafford, of New York and granddaughter, Kasey A. Stafford, of Claremont, Ca.; her former daughter-in-law, Lee Jean Stafford, of Wewoka; as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Jim Stafford and father of Jim and John, in 2005; and her beloved granddaughter, Ann Dee Stafford.
Private graveside services were held on Wednesday, at 2 p.m., October 14, 2009, at Oakwood Cemetery, Wewoka, with Rev. Michael Vallandingham officiating.
Lucy's wish was in lieu of Flowers or other Memorials, a donation be made in Memory of Ann Dee Stafford, to the International Rett Syndrome Association 9121 Piscataway Rd., Suite 2-B, Clinton, Md., 20737.

Paul Stealey
Paul John Stealey passed away at the Solara Hospital in Shawnee on Feb. 21, 2009, at the age of 86. He was born on March 31, 1922, in Drumright, to John W. and Laura Ella Foreman Stealey.
He attended school in Beggs, and was raised in the Beggs Assembly of God Church. He loved the Lord first of all and served as a musician, Sunday School teacher, youth leader, and in many other positions. He was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, guitar and cornet.
He answered the call of his nation in World War II and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on Oct. 10, 1942. He later transferred to the U.S. Army and served at the First Headquarters Company of The Parachute School, U.S. Army Infantry Center and School, Fort Benning, Ga. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 3, 1945. at Fort Benning.
He married the love of his life Donna M. Harvey on Aug. 17, 1947. Their two sons Raymond Jerry and Larry Dean precede him in death.
He owned the S&S Tank Truck Service in Bowlegs from 1959 to 1973. The couple then moved to Fort Worth, Texas. He retired as a Class A Machinist from American Manufacturing of Fort Worth. He served as the Steward of Local 96, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths. Forgers, Helpers, and Boilermakers Union, AFL-CIO for 10 years. He was highly valued by his union for his skill in contracts negotiation.
He served on the Board of Education of the Bowlegs Independent School District for nine years.
Paul was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Loyal Order of Moose Fraternal Organization. He was a member of Fort Worth Lodge 1100 where he served two terms as Lodge Governor. He also served for many years in various offices: Past Governor, Prelate, Trustee, Inner Guard, Ritual Chairman, and as Prelate on the Lodge Ritual Team. He received the Fellowship Degree in May 1982. He received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit, which is the highest degree awarded by the Loyal of Moose Fraternal Organization, on June 3, 1989.
He is survived by his wife Donna of the home, daughter-in-law Patricia Harper Stealey of Shawnee, and six grandchildren: Steven J. Stealey of Oklahoma City; Beverly Ann Stealey Heckard and husband Raymond Heckard, of Bethany; Lisa Lynette Stealey Tetreault and husband David Tetreault of Austin, Texas; Brian Dean Stealey of Houston, Texas; Paula Jean Weaver and husband Jim Weaver of Oklahoma City; and Amy Rae Stealey Swift and husband Randell Swift of Norman.
He had 13 great grandchildren who survive him: Samantha, Samuel, Devan, Kimberli, Timothy, Garrett, Jake, Lauren, Ashley, Patty, Jolene, Jamie, and Luke.
Also surviving him is one sister: Pearl Stealey Davis and husband Owen of Prague; three nieces: Rebecca Lynn Davis Woodard and husband Darrell Woodard, Phyllis Ann Davis, and Susan Seal; and six nephews: Robert Owen Davis III and wife Glennyce, Phillip Soule and wife Rosy, Randy Soule and wife Brenda, Jim Shull, John Shull and Bill Davis.
He was preceded in death by his two sons, his mother and father, three sisters: Sybil Soule, Myrtle Hewitt, Elsie Virginia Stealey, and one brother: Raymond Seal Stealey.
Funeral services will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Gary Pollard, Pastor of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Pall bearers will be Steven J. Stealey, Brian D. Stealey, Raymond G. Heckard Jr., Randell D. Swift, David S. Tetreault and Jim M. Weaver.
Gene Stewart
Wewoka resident Harold (Gene) Eugene Stewart, age 80, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Seminole.
He was born July 25, 1928, n Butner, to W.O. and Gertrude (Halk) Stewart. He attended Butner Schools and worked for D and B International as a Brake Mechanic. After his retirement he worked as a farmer.
He married Marjorie Parsons July 10, 1948 in Wewoka.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Maurice Stewart; grandson, Tyler Stewart, and sister June Stewart.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Phillip, Adam, and Joe Stewart; and daughter, Regina Guess, all of Wewoka; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday July 2, 2009 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry States officiating and burial at Sawyer Cemetery.

Joseph Stewart
Joseph Pike Stewart passed away at Epic Medical Center in Eufaula, Oklahoma, on Wednesday December 17, 2009, at the age of 54.
The body will be taken to the home at 1724 Seran Drive, in Wewoka, Saturday at 1 p.m. Wake Services will be Monday, December 21, 2009, at Indian Nation Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at First Baptist Church, in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Barnett officiating and Rev. Lewis Johnson assisting. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Joseph Pike Stewart was born September 18, 1955, in Gardenia, California, to Robert and Pauline Stewart. Joseph graduated from Verdugo Hills High School, in Tujunga, California. Joseph enjoyed playing pool, riding his Harley, watching old western movies, listening to music. He had a huge heart and would always be there to rescue family and friends. He was known to many as uncle Joe and will be greatly missed. He was the Maintenance Supervisor with the Seminole Nation.
Joseph is preceded in death by his father Robert Stewart, and Brother Cortney Stewart and a sister Regina Stabler.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Stewart, of the home; brothers and sisters, Darlene and husband Charles, of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Robert W. Stewart Jr., of Lancaster California, Alberta Morrow and husband David, of Calvin Oklahoma; and ten grandchildren.
Earnest Stillwell, Sr.
Longtime Seminole resident Earnest Stillwell, Sr. died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, in Norman, at the age of 85.
He was born May 2, 1924, in Idabel, to Henry and Elum (Flenoy) Stillwell.
He married Mable (Sneed) Stillwell on May 10, 1947. He served in the United States Army during WWII and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He then went on to work as a mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base until he retired. He was a Deacon and President of the Usher Board as a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served his community by volunteering his time to register and drive them to the polls.
He is survived by his children, Earnestine Galbreath, of Moore, Earnest Stillwell, Jr., of Seminole, Janie Haywood, of Moore, J. Helen Perkins, of Cordova, Tenn., Jimmy L. Stillwell, of Norman, Sheretha Kay Stillwell, of Norman, Henry Stillwell, of Compton, Calif., and Shirley Williams, of Seminole, he is also survived by a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Walter Roper; and brothers, Houston James, Henry Stillwell, Jr. and Herman Stillwell.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Gains and Rev. Bobby Curry officiating. Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, with military honors.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Marlon Galbreath I, Lee Pierce, Kenney Patillio, Timothy Stillwell, Brian Cook, and great-grandsons, Marlon Galbreath II, and Jaleel Mouton.
George Stolinas Jr.
Seminole resident George Stolinas, Jr. died Feb. 8, 2009 at the age of 62. He was born Aug. 24, 1946 in Hartford, Conn., to George and Marie (Prislupsky) Stolynas.
He served in the United States Marine Corps for five years from 1964 to 1969 where he earned the rank of SP4 E-4 and received a purple heart during Vietnam. He also served in the United States army for three years from 1970 to 1973. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War.
He formerly worked at Sigma Meat Processing Plant, in Seminole, as a Boiler Operator.
Interment is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, Va., with full military honors.
Surviving him are his daughters, Tara Stolinas Clark, of Westfield, Mass., Georgie Anne Stolinas-Brunton, of Old Lyme, Conn.; and sisters, Gloria "Joanne" Beresford, of West Suffield, Conn, Beverly Wheeler, of East Hartland, Conn., and Irene "Betty" Lynch, of Westfield, Mass
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Marie Stolynas, and sister Karen Jane Stolynas.
Brenda Stone
Brenda Leona Stone, age 52, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Shawnee.
She was born Feb. 17, 1957 in Shawnee, to Lloyd Eldon Stone, Sr. and Bonnie Lee Gillaspy. She was raised in Seminole and was a graduate of Seminole High School.
Stone moved to the Tecumseh area in 2004. She worked as a caregiver.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Carder, of Shawnee; mother, Bonnie Gillaspy; sister, Beverly Sanford, of Holdenville; brothers, Lloyd E. Stone, Jr., of Loon Lake, Wash. Michael Stone, of Wisconsin; and half-brother, Stanley Whittaker, of Greeley, Colo.
She is preceded in death by her father and her half-sister, Cathy Vandigriff.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 at Living Word Church, in Shawnee with Pastor Cliff Briscoe officiating.
Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery, in Tecumseh under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, of Holdenville.
Pallbearers were Art Henry, William Sanford, Shawn Sanford, Scott Snider, Jonny Snider, and Cody Sanford.
Honorary bearers are James Stone, Aaron Miller, Ron Brawdy, Max Hause, and Clark Anderson.

Terry Storts
Former Seminole resident Terry Wayne Storts, age 54, of Bristow, died March 14, 2009 in Bristow.
He was born Feb. 22, 1955 in Holdenville, to Marvin and Doris (Mott) Storts. He worked as a pipe liner from 1983 to 2006. He graduated from Henryetta High School and attended Oklahoma State University Okmulgee and received a degree in diesel mechanics.
He married Lenora Ann Fowler on Dec. 6, 1975, in Henryetta and they were members of the First Church of God, in Bristow.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lenora Ann Storts, of the home; sons, Nathan Storts, of Jones and Daniel Storts, of Oklahoma City; mother, Doris Storts, of Henryetta; sisters, Sherry Fowler, of Pauls Valley and Lana Rose, of Henryetta; brothers, Robby Storts, of Sapulpa and Brian Storts, of Coweta.
His father, Rev. Marvin L. Storts, precedes him in death.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 at the First Church of God (320 S. Walnut), in Bristow, with Rev. Tim Mosher officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the New Senora Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
Terry Storts
Former Seminole resident Terry Wayne Storts died Saturday March 14, 2009, in Bristow, at the age of 54.
He was born Feb. 22, 1955, in Holdenville, to Marvin and Doris (Mott) Storts. He worked as a pipe liner from 1983 to 2006. He graduated from Henryetta High school and attended OSU Okmulgee and received a degree in diesel mechanics.

He is survived by his wife, Lenora Storts, of the home; sons, Nathan Storts, of Jones and Daniel Storts, of Oklahoma City; mother, Doris Storts, of Henryetta; sisters, Sherry Fowler, of Pauls Valley and Lana Rose, of Henryetta; and brothers, Robby Storts, of Sapulpa and Brian Storts, of Coweta.

Leo Streater
Leo "Tink" Streater, age 72, of Wewoka, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 in Holdenville.
He was born July 21, 1935 in Wewoka, to Arthur Streater and Golden Brown.
He married Delois June Lemons in 1955, in Holdenville.
He graduated from Baptist Bible College, in Springfield, Mo. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Streater was a self-employed rancher. The family lived in Sand Springs, until 1976 and went to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada as Missionaries until 1989. They returned to Wewoka and made their home southwest of Wewoka at Tate Mountain.
Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Delois; brothers and sisters, Ed Streater, Sue Davis, Mamie Tilley, Nell Streater, Bess Streater, and Dorthia Streater.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Streater; sons, Brian Streater and Alan Streater, all of Wewoka; brothers and Sisters, Frank Streater, of Wewoka, Sonny Streater, of Wewoka, Maxine Scribner, of Midland, Texas, and D’Ann Anderson, of Albuquerque, N.M; and three grandchildren.
Funeral Services were scheduled for 10a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Rev. Michael Vallandingham of First Baptist Church, officiated and burial followed at Tate Mountain Cemetery.
