Clyde Williams

Wewoka resident Clyde "Kenneth" Williams, age 68, died July 13, 2009 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, in Oklahoma City. He was born Jan. 31, 1941 in Claremore, to Edmond Johnson and Nora Williams.

He served in the United States Navy then he worked as an electronics engineer draftsman for many years in the Houston, Texas area until his retirement in 1993. Following his retirement he moved back to Seminole County making his home in Wewoka.

He was a member of the Achena Presbyterian Church, in Maud.

He is survived by his son, Michael Williams, of Maud; daughters, Cheryl Williams, of Wewoka and Rene Williams, of Maud; brothers, Lindsey Bondoni, of McLoud, Art Cline, of Maud, and David Johnson, of Oklahoma City; sisters, Vera Whitlock, of Oklahoma City, Linda West, of Locust Grove, and Gloria Joshua, of Sapulpa.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leo Harrison; wife, Betty Williams; and brother Jerry Cline.

A wake service is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole with Rev. Houston Tiger officiating.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole. Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Fred West will officiate the service. Interment will follow at the Williams Family Cemetery near Maud, with Military Honors being provided by the Seminole Nation Honor Guard.

Casket Bearers will be: Sandy Williams, Chevy Cline, Paul Williams, Hershal Davis, Rickey Cline and Frankie Williams.

Honorary Bearers will be: Charlie Williams, Raymond Harjo, Stanley Long, Johnny Cline and Keetha Williams.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole.

Dale Williams

Well known Pharmacist and Drug Store owner Nolen Vandale Williams passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Wewoka Nursing Home after a long illness at the age of 83 years.

He was born in Rodney, Arkansas, Sept. 28, 1925, to David Coleman and Grace Pearl (Southard) Williams.

Dale joined the United States Navy at the age of seventeen years, on April 21, 1943, and served aboard U.S.S. Chicadee and U.S.S. Gillis during WWII. He was a Quarter Master Third Class. He received the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two stars, Quarter Master Third Class.

He received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy from from Southwest Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy and was owner and operator of Roberts Drug for fifty-seven year and was a registered Pharmacist for fifty-nine years.

Dale was a very dedicated Citizen and Civic Leader in Wewoka, belonging to the Boy Scouts of America Troop #426, serving as Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster. He was awarded the Boy Scout of America Last Frontier Council Silver Beaver Award. Dale was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Dale was a Mason 50 years and was Worshipful Master nine times in Wewoka and Holdenville Masonic Lodges. He was 32nd Degree Mason, he held numerous positions and offices. He was the American Legion Past Post commander. He coached Wewoka Youth Baseball and was member of Wewoka Quarterback Club.

Very dear to Dale’s heart, he served over twenty years with the Prison Christian Ministries. He was awarded "Citizen of Year" Wewoka twice.

Dale treated students in Wewoka as if they were his own children. This was true whether they were skiing behind Dale’s boat, golfing at the Gil Morgan golf course, working at Roberts Drug, or attending after games on Friday night when Dale opened up the Drug Store and gave away free ice cream cones. Dale was a big supporter of Wewoka Tiger Athletics. Often the high school cheerleaders threw Roberts Drug footballs and basketballs to the fans in the stands. Many students worked at Roberts Drug over the years. He served as Director of the Methodist Youth Fellowship and once a month he treated the students to a special dinner at Krebs.

Dale will be greatly missed by all individuals who were associated with him in his family, his business and his church.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Wewoka, Oklahoma with Pastor Phil Thompson of Shawnee Liberty Baptist Church officiating and Rev. Amanda BP Lockwood and John Hargrave assisting. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Dale married Elma Jean Anderson, September 2, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife Jean of sixty-one years, two sons Keith Williams of Wewoka, and Daryl Williams of Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren Matthew Williams, Linthicum, Mass., Thomas Williams, Norman, Okla., and Daniel Williams, Wewoka, Okla., one great-grandchild Dorothy Williams of Linthicum, Mass.; brothers: Leo Williams, Bossier City, La., Verle Williams, Frisco, Texas, John Williams, Gower, Mo., Bill Williams, Spring, Texas, Jerry Williams, Wichita, Kan., Jack Williams, Topeka, Kan., and sister Dorothy Davenport, Shell Knob, Mo.

Arrangements by Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.

Edward Williams

Edward (Bob) Carl Williams, age 91, of Claremore, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Claremore Indian Hospital.

Bob was born on December 28, 1917 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma to the late Carl Williams and Lennie Chandler Williams. He was raised in Ninnekah and moved to the Claremore Veterans Center, in 2008, from Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Bob married Mary Francis Pounds on February 11, 1937 in Fletcher, Oklahoma. They were married for 46 years before she preceded him in death, on April 1985.

He joined the United States Navy and served from November 30, 1943 to November 23, 1945. He enjoyed crafts and Indian beadwork.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Lennie Joan Huebner, Hulbert, Oklahoma, Francis Coffey, Rolla, Missouri, and Janet Sue Perez, Merzton, Texas; half sister, Delores Burke, Lawton, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, and daughter, Bobbie Corine Burt.

Memorial services were Friday, July 24, 2009, at 10 a.m. at the Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler, Oklahoma. Rob Krebbs officiated the services.

Services were under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill, Oklahoma.

Lillie Williams

Lillie Angeline "Lil" Williams died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in Del City. She was born in Oklahoma City, to parents Carl Albert Goodman and Felcie Myrtle (VanVliet) Goodman.

She graduated from South-East High School, in Oklahoma City. She worked for Okemah Nursing Center for over 10 years before she retired and moved to Seminole in 1991.

She married Wesley "Gene" Williams.

She is survived by her brothers, Melvin and Earl Goodman, both of Moore; and sisters, Carol Afinowicz, of Choctaw and Jerry Obermeyer, of Moore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Betty Lou Weese and Linda Jo Svendsen.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Little Cemetery. Chaplain Jim McCool will officiate the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Marvin Williams

Deputy Sheriff Marvin Williams passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Seminole. He was fatally wounded while in the line of duty, at the age of 43.

Marvin was born on April 27, 1966 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Willie Gail Williams and Tamara Ella (Coker) Williams.

Marvin married Madonna Coker on February 8, 1985 in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Marvin served as a Deputy for Seminole County Sheriff’s Office where he had recently been promoted to captain.

Prior to becoming an officer he was a jailor and jail administrator for Seminole County for several years.

Marvin also faithfully served as an ordained pastor at the Amazing Grace Pentecostal Church of God in Wewoka.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 24 years Madonna (Coker) Williams of the home, son, Shawn Williams and Shannon Castro of Shawnee, Oklahoma, three daughters and sons-in-law: Crystal and Gabriel Wind, Monica Williams and Derek Vigil and Erica Williams all of Seminole, two brothers and a sister-in-law: William Arthur and Angela Williams of Seminole and Shane and Ashley Williams of Wewoka, one sister and brother-in-law: Pam (Williams) and Steve Gray of Prague.

Four grandchildren also survive him, Isaiah Wind, Adrian Vigil, Bailey Vigil and Isaac Wind as well as 9 nieces and 18 nephews and other family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Willie Gail Williams, paternal and maternal grandparents; Faye and Ottie Williams and Bland and Irene Coker.

Marvin will be dearly missed by all who knew him and will forever be remembered as "Hero" in everyone’s heart!

Wake services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 7 p.m. at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Brother Todd Turner officiating.

Funeral services with full honors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Seminole State College Gymnasium located at 2701 Boren Boulevard on the West side of the campus.

The service will be officiated by, Sister Pat Coffey, Brother Todd Turner, Jeff Nance, and Marvin’s brother, Willie Williams.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens located on Hwy 270 East of Seminole.

Pallbearers are Freddie Allen, Dee Deatherage, Donnie Meaders, Shannon Smith, Tommy Mackey, Brad Willis, Billy Bruce and Dave Carter

Honorary Bearers are Trey Tahsuda, John Bevins, Steve Gray, Veral Matthews, Chris Coker, J.P. Neeley, Willie Williams, Shawn Williams, Chris Epperley, and Tom McClendon.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, 100 W. Strothers, Seminole, Oklahoma.

Bob Willis

Robert Vincent Willis was born March 10, 1926 in Dallas, Texas. He passed away Sunday, October 18, 2009, in Holdenville, at the age of 83. His parents, Frank and Mildred Willis, of Seminole, Oklahoma and Marie and Norman Walworth, of Channelview, Texas, preceded him in death.

Bob was baptized at the First Christian Church, in Wewoka in 1942. He was a graduate of Wewoka High School, Class of 1944. Bob joined the United States Air Force on July 6, 1944 and was honorably discharged in July 1946. He attended the University of Oklahoma from the fall of 1946 until 1949 where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Bob married Mary Sue Walpole on June 19, 1948. The couple moved to Holdenville in 1949 and bought the Holdenville Candy Company and changed the name to Willis Wholesale. Together they raised two children, Linda Sue and Ernest Howard. Mary Sue preceded his death in June 1984. Bob married Dean Payne Nolen on June 30, 1988.

His brother, Varner Willis and his daughter, Cathy Nolen Livingston, of Ft. Worth, Texas, also preceded him.

Bob worked as an employee of Willis Quick Stops and Willis Cellular and Paging until October 2008 when he broke his hip. He served his community for twenty-five years as a member of the Holdenville Volunteer Fire Department; twenty years as a member of the Holdenville General Hospital Board of Directors; and eight years as a member of the Holdenville City Council. He also served as Cub Scout Pack Master and a Boy Scout Leader; a member of the Hughes County Excise Board; Hughes County Red Cross Chairman; Holdenville Civil Defense Chairman; Hughes County Civil Defense Director; American Legion; and served as a Deacon, Elder, Church Treasurer since 1965; and a Sunday School Teacher for the First Christian Church of Holdenville.

Bob was an avid sports fan; he enjoyed watching the Holdenville Wolverines, Moss Pirates, Seminole State Trojans, and the OSU Cowboys.

Survivors include Bob’s wife, Dean Willis, of the home; daughter, Linda Sue Billingsley and husband, Richard, of Wewoka; son, Ernest Howard Willis, Sr. and wife, Claudia Harp Willis, of Seminole; thirteen grandchildren: Kitt Wakeley and wife, Melissa, of Edmond; Robert Jay Wakeley of Spaulding; Ernest Howard Willis, Jr. of Tulsa; Megan Lynn Willis of Norman; Danny Joe Nolen and wife, Michelle, of Holdenville; Kevin Nolen and wife, Patty, of Holdenville; Stacy Black and husband, Charles, of Bethel; Ashly Hensley, and husband, David, of Owasso; ten great grandchildren: Alexandria and Nicole Wakeley; Felicia and Taylor Holt; Bayley and Dylan Black; Harlee and Heston Nolen; and Hunter and Hudson Hensley.

Funeral services for Robert Vincent "Bob" Willis are to be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the First Christian Church, in Holdenville with Reverend Kevin Worden and Reverend Jason Yarbrough officiating.

Bob’s family will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are current and retired members of the Holdenville Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the First Christian Church, c/o Mr. Wendell Harris, 604 Diamond Street, Holdenville, Oklahoma 74848.

Cindy Wilson

Cynthia Diane (Morris) Wilson, 41 year old, lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Seminole of natural causes.

She was born March 21, 1968, in Seminole, to parents George Leland Morris, III and Wanda Sue (Green) Morris.

Cindy attended Seminole Public Schools graduating in 1986. She went on to pursue a career in medical billing from Wes-Watkins Vocational Training Center. She was currently working as a customer service and billing representative for Lincare Home Health Care.

Cindy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, in Seminole.

Cindy is survived by her mother, Wanda Morris, of Seminole, Oklahoma; paternal grandmother, Geraldine "Betty" Morris, of Seminole, Oklahoma; one son, Zachary Wilson, of the home; one step-daughter, Lacy Wilson, of Seminole, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Ronda Morris, of Wewoka, Oklahoma aunts and uncles, Charlene Kennady, of Seminole, Oklahoma; Jim and Nancy Frederickson, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma and Robert and Shirley Morris, of Seminole, Oklahoma; niece and nephew, Britlee and Gavin Morris; and by a host of other family and dear friends.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father, George Leland Morris, III; paternal grandfather George Leland Morris, II; maternal grandmother, Cora Green; and maternal grandfather, W.C. Green.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Andy Quinton will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Casket bearers will be: Jim Holmes, Doyle Gene Morris, Darrel Morris, Phillip Pennington, Del Reed, and Rodney Troglin.

Honorary bearers will be: Jim Fredrickson, Mike Morris; and Zachary Wilson.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, Oklahoma.
