Paula Wilson

Paula Louise Wilson, 46, former Seminole resident now of Stillwater, Oklahoma, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Paula was born Aug. 12, 1963, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Charles Clay and Susan Marie (Gray) Robertson.

Paula lived most of her life in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she was very active in community affairs. She did housekeeping in the Stillwater area and worked at Mom’s Café and Sunbelt Mobile Home Service. She was a member of the Elk’s Lodge # 1395 and the Moose Lodge # 2089, both in Stillwater. She was active in the Jaycees and a member of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by her mother and father, Susan and Charles Robertson, of Wewoka, Oklahoma; fiancé, Mike Russell, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one son, Robert Dixon and his wife Amber, of Glencoe, Oklahoma; one granddaughter that she raised as her daughter, Madison Marshall, of the home; three sisters, Denise and Randy Moore and Beckey and Mickey Ledbetter of Wewoka, Oklahoma and Michelle and James Bender, of Morris, Oklahoma; and her special friend, Kenneth McDaniel, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Zoe, Gage, Avery Dixon and Ryan Marshall and Aden Lewis; and several nephews and one niece.

A daughter Brandy Cursha precedes her in death.

Local memorial service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009 at Harvey Road Baptist Church, in Seminole, Oklahoma

Memorial Services are planned at Paula’s home at 4611 E. 65th St., in Stillwater, on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Lieu of flowers friends may make memorial donations to the family for services.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Roger Wilson

Roger Ray Wilson, age 53, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at his residence in Wanette.

He was born Feb. 8, 1956, in Pampa, Texas, to Harold Ray and Erma Jane (Jones) Wilson.

He married Anita Lynn Berryhill, Feb. 8, 1992, in Holdenville. He received a degree in Auto Parts Management from Okmulgee Tech. He was a member of First Baptist Church, McLoud.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Janie Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of the home; mother, of Wewoka; sons, Jared Maxwell Wilson, of Wewoka, and Johnathan Wilson, of Okmulgee.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill and Teri Farmer Officiating, interment to follow at Holdenville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jared Wilson, John Wilson, Jacob Waller, Seth Grizzle, Case Grizzle, and Jimmy Wood.

Erwin Wimberly

Erwin D. Wimberly, age 44, of Wewoka, died Saturday, Oct. 24. He was born March 28, 1965, in Lawton, to Erwin Wimberly and Barbara J. Wimberly.

He attended schools in Wewoka and graduated from Wewoka High School. He also attended Okmulgee Tech., in Okmulgee, where he pursued being an auto mechanic. He was also a heavy equipment operator.

At an early age, he joined the St. Paul Baptist church, in Wewoka.

He is survived by his mother; daughters, Janelle Wimberly, of Oklahoma City, and Jillian White, of Wewoka; brother, Labron Cosby, of Shawnee; and one granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at he First Baptist Church, in Wewoka. Burial will be at the Westwood Cemetery, in Wewoka.

Services are under the direction of Myers Mortuary, in Wewoka.

Kenneth Wingate

Former Wewoka resident Kenneth James Wingate died Sunday, Jan. 25, at the age of 51, in Sarasota, Fla. He was born Feb. 21, 1957 to Kenneth and Lovella Wingate.

After graduating from Wewoka High School, in 1975, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, at the University of Arlington, in Arlington, Texas. He worked as a freelance photographer and was a certified exercise instructor.

Surviving him are his mother and father, of Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Sandra Holmberg, of Washington, Mo. and Patricia Bevelhymer, of Arlington, Texas.

The family is planning private services.

Kathryn Winlock

Kathryn "Kathy" Lee Winlock, age 55, lost her battle with lung cancer on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at her home in Seminole.

Kathy was born July 26, 1953 to Mollie and Troy James, in Seminole.

Kathy loved her two grandchildren and she spent all of her time with them. She was the best mom to her children.

She is survived by on daughter and son-in-law, Krisy Lee Winlock and Jimmy Dinwiddie, of Seminole; son, Richard Winlock Jr., of Oklahoma City; sister, Laquita Hiemer, of Meeker; and two grandchildren, Jade and Jevin Dinwiddie, of Seminole.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mollie and Troy James; and one grandchild, Bailey Dee Dinwiddie.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole.

Booker Winrow

Loving husband, father and always your friend. Booker T. Winrow, longtime Earlsboro resident currently of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away on May 19, 2009 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

He was born on March 20, 1932 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Jackson Williams Winrow and Beulah Winrow.

He was a truck driver and crane operator for Ronnie Allison Trucking in Seminole for many years. Booker was known best for always working on a car or truck, he was a member of the CB Radio Club and his handle was Running Bear. Around town his nickname was Jed Clampet. Booker later gave his life to Christ and was a devoted member and Deacon of Galilee Baptist Church.

He married Pauline (Hinex) Winrow on May 15, 1953 and she survives him of the home. He is also survived by five sons; Ricky D. Winrow of Norman, Billy J. Winrow of Oklahoma City, Dean Winrow of Shawnee, Dennis Winrow of Oklahoma and Bobby Black of Kansas; eight daughters, Oleatha Armstead of Oklahoma City, Priscilla Phillips of Shawnee, Carolyn Winrow of Shawnee, Colleen Sanders of Tennessee, Brenda Cooper of Midwest City, Angela Ward of Del City, Sergeant First Class Shirley Honeycutt of Tennessee and Debbie Winrow of Midwest City; mother, Beaulah Winrow of Tecumseh; one brother, Roy Winrow of Earlsboro; and four sisters, Erma Jean Bigalow of Kansas, Eunice Edmonds of Oklahoma City, Lorene Ryan of Tecumseh and Katheline Hicks of Oklahoma City.

He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren. Booker leaves to cherish his life and legacy with his kids that he truly loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Winrow; brother, Thurman Winrow; sisters, Opal Booker and Barbara J. Winrow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the Galilee Baptist Church in Shawnee with a burial to follow at Earlsboro Cemetery in Earlsboro.

George Winters

Konawa resident George Louis Winters, age 57, died Dec. 18, 2009, at his home. He was born May 26, 1952 in Pottsville, Penn., to George L. and Mary (Johnston) Winters. He moved from Okinawa to Oklahoma City and then from Oklahoma City to Konawa, in 1969. He was employed with McClure-OLG Propane Company, for 30 years, where he helped manage and deliver propane, for the company.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the American Harley Davidson Racing Association. He placed nationally in 1994, and had the top gas Harley Davidson.

He is survived by his daughter, Trina Lee, of Kingston; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cheri Winters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Konawa, with Father Adrian Vorderlandwher, O.S.B. presiding. Interment with be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Konawa.

Serving as pallbearers: Tim Lowry, Bobby Lee, Alan Kramer, Oness Carpenter, Jack Harris and Jeff Harris.

Honorary pallbearer will be: Ed Cole and Rick Yerby.

Visitation will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Lewis Wise

Longtime Seminole resident Lewis Wise, age 88, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home in Seminole.

He was born Aug. 4, 1920, in Seminole, to Alfred and Sallie (Narcome) Wise.

He was a custodian for many years at Seminole State College.

He is survived by his sons, Jack Wise, of Grove, Evans Wise, of Meeker, Timothy Wise, of Weleetka, Terry Wise, of Shawnee, Gerald Wise, of Shawnee, and Joe Wise, of Cromwell; daughters, Mae Wise, of Seminole, Ann Dixon, of Porum, Charlene Lowe, of Glenpool, and Geraldine Little, of Seminole; brother, Harry Henshaw, of Wewoka; sister, Sarah Beck, of Sapulpa; thirty-nine grandchildren; seventy-nine great grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mandy (Tiger) Wise, two daughters, two sisters, one half-sister, and three brothers and one half- brother

Pallbearers will be: Frank Lena, Jr., Charles Sewell, Mickey Dockery, David Walker, Lance Primeaux, and Samuel England.

Honorary Bearers will be: Alfred Wise, Bill Wise, Kennedy Wise Talamasey, Dwayne Pierce, Rusty Carbitcher, Jimpsey Carbitcher, Doug Isaacs and all of his grandsons.

A Wake will be held at his home on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 7 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Cedar Creek Eufaula Baptist Church with Rev. Houston Tiger and Dorsey Nero officiating. Interment will follow at England Family Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, 100 W. Strothers, in Seminole.

Roy Wood

Roy Lee Wood, 80 year-old lifelong Wewoka resident and retired Wewoka Fire Chief passed from this life Jan. 3, 2009, at Holdenville General Hospital. He was born Feb. 20, 2008 in Caw City, to Thomas Homer Wood and Mallie Alice (Heflin) Wood.

Roy graduated from Wewoka High School in 1947 and went on to join the United States Navy where he served during World War II. He earned the rank of Yeoman Third and received the World War II Victory Medal after he had served on the U.S.S. Saint Paul battle ship. Following his military discharge he married Carole Dee Standridge on June 15, 1953, in Wewoka.

Roy worked for the City of Wewoka serving as the Wewoka Fire Chief until his retirement. He also owned and operated several businesses including an Insurance and Real Estate Company, and "Gatsby Antique Mall" in Wewoka. He and his brother Jack also built homes. Roy was a member of the Wewoka Methodist Church and the Wewoka Lions Club. He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed making his own clubs.

His loving family survives him, his wife of 55 years, Carole Dee Wood, of the home in Wewoka; one son, Kirk Wood, of Shawnee; one grandson, Jarrod Wood, and his wife Dayna, of Wewoka; two great grandchildren, Emma and Stephen Kade Wood, both of Wewoka; one sister-in-law, Nina Wood, of Wewoka; one niece, shelly wood, of Wewoka, and one nephew, Thom Wood, of Wewoka.

His parents, and one brother Jack Wood precede Roy in death.

Private family services are scheduled.

Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, of Seminole.

Winnie Woods

Winnie Ella (Andrews) Woods, longtime Holdenville area resident, passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at the age of 78, at Solara Hospital, in Shawnee.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1930, in Clinton, Tenn. to Ulysses Awn and Serelda Ella (Adkins) Andrews.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd Wayne and Debra Faye Andrews, of Denison, Texas; two daughters and a son-in-law, Karen Arthur, of Wetumka and Elizabeth and Richard Cline, of Seminole; brother, Paris Andrews, of North Carolina; and sister, Dorothy Ainscough, of Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn, Kristin Levi, Terry Lynn and Taylor Danielle and four great grandchildren, Chelsi Nicole, Caleb Lynn, Dalaina Grace, Braydon Allen and one great grandchild on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Ella Andrews and several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009 at Little Cemetery with Jimmy Freeman officiating.

Honorary bearers will be: Jimmy Daugherty, Richard Cline, Jeremy Huffman and Terry Hayes.

Ona Woody

Ona Woody, 92 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Ona was born January 14, 1917, north of Seminole to parents Edward and Maggie (Rebeck) Spoonemore.

Ona married Malcolm Woody July 9, 1936 in Little, Oklahoma. She was involved with 4-H Club and Home Demonstration Club in the Varnum Community. She was a member of the Assemblies of God, and attended Seminole First Assembly. She enjoyed working in her garden, tending her flowers and she loved little children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Darrell Logue; and three brothers, Chalmer, Cecil and Raymond Spoonemore.

Ona leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Bill McHugh of Walnut Creek, California, Kathy and Jack Burton, of Sacramento, California; one son, Wendell Woody, of Seminole, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery North of Seminole. Rev. Doyle Long will officiate the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
