A memorial service for Allen Ray Young will be held Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Gazebo in Highland Cemetery.
Allen Ray Young was born March 30, 1953 in Barnsdall, South Carolina to Mary Ann (Duncan) and Barbara "BA" Young. He found peace on April 1, 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 56.
Allen served his country with the United States Army from 1971 to 1974. He has been a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 334 since 1969.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents Ab and Lillie (Landers) Duncan and John Abe and Fay (Thomas) Young.
He is survived by his son, Justin Young and his daughter Olivia and fiancée Lyndsay, of Oklahoma City; his daughter, Rachel Johnson and her children Tristan, Annjulena, and Isasc, of Norman; ex-wife, Lavon Bunny, also of Norman; one sister, Venus Hendryx and husband Mike, of Seminole; his niece Melanie and husband Brian Smith, of Tulsa; and his best friends Linda and Darrell.
Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Wade Harelson and assisted by Pastor Randy Morgan.
Michael Akerman
Michael Daniel Akerman, age 83 and a resident of Konawa, died at his home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010.
A wake service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, and a funeral mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa.
Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr, O.S.B. will officiate.
Ackerman was born on January 4, 1927, in Sacred Heart to Theresa (Diester) and Dan Akerman.
He married Jean Dale (Sexton) on September 18, 1946 in Sacred Heart.
He worked as a tool pusher for the oilfield and as a farmer. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Dale Akerman of the home; one son, Michael Daniel "Mickey" Akerman, Jr. of Konawa; three daughters, Donna Marie Cooley of Blanchard, Linda Louise Carter of Byng, and Bonnie Sue Harden of Konawa; two brothers, Billy Akerman of Konawa, and Chris Akerman, also of Konawa; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan Akerman in 1937 and Theresa Akerman in 1986; one brother, Francis Akerman and one sister, Mary Bishop.
Clinton Adams
Clinton Bud Adams, longtime Seminole resident, departed this life, Saturday February 20, 2010, at the age of 90. Bud was born on January 17, 1920, in Paden, Oklahoma, to Lewis and Mary (Ballard) Adams.
Bud joined the U.S. Navy, in 1944, and was a World War II veteran. He married Wanda Casey Ross on July 25, 1954 in Prague, Oklahoma. He worked in construction, was an officer in the Prague Police Department in the 1950’s and retired from Western Electric. Bud loved vacationing in Arkansas with Wanda and catfishing with James and Carlene.
His wife of 55 years, Wanda, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, R.C. and Jeannie Adams, of Vian, Oklahoma; William F. "Buddy" Ross, of Prague, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law Verna and Sam Fipps, of Paden, Oklahoma survive Bud. Fourteen grandchildren, Craig Fipps, Kirk Fipps, Keith Fipps, Sandra Wellman, Teresa Adams, Bobbie Jo Adams, Clinton Bud Adams, Keith Ross, Amanda Ross, Lorie Pierce, Dusty Ross, Toby Ross, Rebecca Ross, William F. Ross, III; 32 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as a host of other family, friends and his special friend and provider, Billie Odor also survive him. His great grandson Robbie, and his special niece Penny Ballard who took great care of Bud, both went above and beyond what was needed. Their love, care and compassion for Bud made it possible for him to remain at home during his last days, Bud was dearly loved and will be tremendously missed.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifton Adams and Carney Adams; one sister, Martha McCready; one son, Freddie Ross; and one granddaughter, Trisha Kay Taylor.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at the Free Will Baptist Church, in Paden, Oklahoma, with Jim Eaststep and Scott Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, of Seminole, Oklahoma.
Mable Adams
Mable Velma Johnston Adams went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 16, 2010.
She was born August 13, 1912 north of Holdenville in Hughes County, to Sydney Carl and Tavie Almiranda (Hutchinson) Johnston.
Mable grew up in Hughes and Seminole County with her two sisters, two brothers and half brother.
On October 16, 1931 she married Homer A. Adams. They lived and raised their two children, A.C. and Glenda, in and around the Butner Community of Seminole County.
Mable loved being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was active in the Butner Home Demonstration Club and the Butner Baptist Church.
After Homer's death in 1966, she moved to the town of Wewoka.
There she worked at Morgan's Mug and a local nursing home until she retired in 1973.
She was active in the first Baptist Church and formed many friendships in the community.
In November 1998 Mable moved to Shawnee to be closer to her daughter, Glenda. While in Shawnee she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Even though she was unable to attend services during the past several years, she continued to support the Church and maintained contact with her Sunday School Class.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents, husband Homer, brothers O.B. and Bill Johnston and half brother, Carmen Bond and sister Melba Underwood.
She is survived by son A.C. Adams and wife Ruth Ann; Daughter, Glenda Louise Pannell and husband John; four grandchildren: Alisa Ann Adams Matthews and husband Larry of Wichita Falls, TX, Carla Ruth Adams Mackey and husband Doug of Cypress, TX, Robert Keith Pannell and wife Jennifer of Lawton, OK, and Lora Louise Sladovnik and husband Bart of Omaha, Nebraska; six great grandchildren: Samantha Ann and Adam Kapp Mackey of Cypress, TX. Evan Scott Doran and Cassidy Lauren Pannell of Lawton, OK and Maxwell Sebastian and Cecila Louise (CeCe) Sladovnik of Omaha, NE.
She is also survived by her younger sister, Mildred Norman of Gretna, Louisiana and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka at 11 a.m. July 21, 2010.
Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Cathryn Addington
Funeral Services for Konawa native Cathryn Mae Addington were held on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Vian.
Rev. Tommy Shropshire officiated.
Burial followed at the Konawa Cemetery in Konawa, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Addington died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the age of 78.
She was born February 14, 1931 in Konawa, to Jack Gale and Etta (Cornell) Gale.
She married William Joel Addington on May 6, 1960 in Purcell.
Addington is survived by two daughters, Deborah Heard of Konawa, and Terisa Puckett of Davis; two sons, Robert Gale of Muldrow, and Donald Addington of Slidell, La.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joel Addington; and her parents, Jack and Etta Gale.
Charlotte Alderson
Charlotte Artensia Alderson, celebrated her 87th birthday on 10/10/10 and, "walked on" October 12, 2010, at home in Maud with her family and friends at her bedside.
A Rosary service is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 14th at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, and a Catholic Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa.
Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwerh will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Charlotte Alderson, better known as "Choc" was born on October 10, 1923, at Sacred Heart, Oklahoma to John Baptist and Adeline (Thorpe) Rhodd.
She was a homemaker and joined the "working force" when she lost her husband, Joe in 1966.
Choc loved to fish and loved all kinds of sports. She never met a stranger. Family meant everything to her.
"Grandma" was her favorite word. Her sisters were her best friends, and her brother was her moral support.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Konawa, and a member of the Altar Society and a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Ann Shelley of Maud; four granddaughters, Michelle Isaacs and Kristy Smith of Oklahoma City, Felecia Freeman of Tecumseh, and Summer McKinse of Shawnee; and her white granddaughter, Sarah Jordan of Tecumseh; one grandson, Travis Sean Alderson of Maud; six great Grandchildren; and three sisters, Cleda Curley of Maud, Eva Jordon of St. Louis, and Johnnie TallBear of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Joe Alderson; one son, Leonard Joe Alderson, Jr.; her parents, John and Adeline Rhodd; one granddaughter, Tina Isaacs Everett; one daughter-in-law, Frankie Jo Alderson, one son-in-law, Marcus Shelley, three sisters, Viola Allen, Edith Nave, and Hazel Williamson; and one brother, Frank Edward Rhodd.
Sally Aldridge
Seminole resident Sally "Ann" Aldridge passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 58.
She was born on March 25, 1952 in Pampa, Texas to Billi and Wilma "Sally" (Boyd) Rodgers.
She married Rusty Aldridge on July 31, 1984 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She worked as a pressman in Oklahoma City and also a cake decorator. She loved home gardening, being outdoors, her dogs, and painting.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Rusty Aldridge of the home, mother, Sally Bray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, mother-in-law; Betty Aldridge of Seminole, son, David McPherson of Tyler, Texas, daughter and son-in-law; Lisa and Kevin Marshall of Oklahoma City, brother and sister-in-law: Kelly and Linda Rodgers of Oklahoma City, and five grandchildren; Courtney, Christopher, Devonte, Zachary and Destiny.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne and Ruby McCrays.

Frank Alexander
Frank "Soka" Alexander, age 73, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at his home, in Konawa.
Soka was born Nov. 26, 1936, to Julia (Factor) and Sando Alexander, in Konawa. He was a warehouseman for the boating and shipping industry, and he was also a minister of a four hundred-member church, in California, before moving back to Konawa.
He married Sandra "Reed" Alexander on May 6, 2003, in Wewoka.
He is survived by his wife and four grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife; and two sons.
No memorial service is scheduled at this time.
Kathleen Allen
Kathleen M. Allen, 66, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Integris Seminole Medical Center after fighting a long battle with diabetes. She was born March 16, 1943 in Prague, Oklahoma, to Troy and Lorene (Martin) Dillon.
Kathleen spent most of her life living northeast of Seminole and attended and graduated from Strothers High School. She was a cook at Nosalics restaurant on I-40 exit at Seminole for over 16 years. She was a very faithful Christian woman, and loved her church. She was baptized at the Twin Oaks Baptist Church and later had attended Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole.
Kathleen was a very special woman, loving mother and grandmother, who would do anything possible for you. She loved her family and all her grandchildren and all who loved her and knew her will miss her, she was one of the sweetest person to ever live.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son Ricky and Nelda Allen of Wewoka, and her daugher Becky Martin and her boyfriend Kelly Joe Huddleston of Seminole, survived Kathleen. She was also survived by her brother Terry Dillon and his wife Jeanie of Wewoka, her very special boyfriend James A Robertson of Seminole and grandchildren; Brittany and Eric Simpson, Ashley and Steven Allen and Sarah and Shelby Allen, and one great grandson Lane Allen.
She is also survived by a niece Lisa and nephew Marshall and many friends and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Billy Don Allen a daughter Debbie Cox, son-in-law Steven Cox and a granddaughter Crystal Cox and by a granddaughter Courtney Martin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be, Marshall Dillon, Steven Allen, Eric Simpson, Kelly Joe Huddleston, Kevin Bane and Dewayne Goodnight. Honorary Casket Bearer will be Terry Dillon.
