Claud Harp

Lifelong Shawnee resident Claud C. Harp, 81, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, at his home.

He was born January 19, 1929, to O. G. and Sallie (Whitely) Harp in Shawnee.

A 1948 Shawnee High School graduate, he married Peggy Ann Tennyson, also a Shawnee graduate on September 1, 1951. They were married 59 years. They were blessed with four children. He was an original member of Cradle Row at Immanuel Baptist Church and remained a member his entire life.

Claud entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and was sent overseas to Yokahama, Japan. After serving his country he was discharged from the Army and returned to Shawnee where he became President of Harp’s Green Valley Farms for the next 25 years.

In the late 1970’s he pursued a new business challenge by becoming an independent oil man until the time of his death.

He was an avid golfer and a member of the Elk’s Country Club for many years. He loved OU football and followed the Shawnee Wolves all of his life.

In 2004, Claud was honored to be inducted into the Shawnee High School Football Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers (Oliver Gordon, Jr., Gerald William, and Granville Gene), one sister (Virginia Nell), and his youngest son, Gerald Harp.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of the home; daughter Claudia and son-in-law Ernie Willis of Seminole; son Oliver Gordon and daughter-in-law Linda of Colleyville, Texas; and son David and daughter-in-law Terri of Shawnee. Sisters Rita Byram and Sallie McLaughlin. Seven grandchildren: Ernest and Megan Willis; Matthew and Luke Harp; Samantha, Courtney, and Taylor Harp and numerous nieces and nephews.

The casket will remain open until Noon on Wednesday and will not be opened for the services.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home in Shawnee with burial at Resthaven Memorial Park.

The family has designated the Building Fund at Immanuel Baptist Church as appropriate for memorials.

Junior Harris

Funeral Services for former Sasakwa resident Thomas ( Junior) Harris Jr. are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2010 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Eberle officiating and burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Born October 24, 1923 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma to Tom L. Harris and Wayne Harland Harris. He passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at his residence in Ada at the age of 86 years after suffering a brief illness with heart disease.

On March 17, 1943 he married Alene Raye Spears in Konawa, OK and to this union three children were born.

Junior worked for the State Highway Dept thirty-three years as a truck driver.

Junior was a member of First Baptist Church Sasakwa, The Odd Fellows Lodge. He was an accomplished musician having mastered several instruments. Thomas was an avid knife collector for many years.

Preceding Junior in death are his parents Tom and Wayne Harris, brother Luther Harris, two sisters Jewell Bass and Fredith Clayton.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Alene Harris, two sons Donnie Harris and wife Dee of Konawa; Thomas Harris and wife Pam of Edmond, OK: daughter Sondra Knight and husband Doyle of Midwest City; Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Welch, Steve Edwards, Bob Horton, Kris Norris, Charles Clayton, and Ted Eberle. Honorary bearers will be Dick Shelton, Sammy Estes and Grandsons.

The Family will receive guest for visitation Thursday June 3, 2010 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.

Deidre Harrison

Deidre LeighAnne Harrison was born on December 26, 1999 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Autumn Harrison, Misselda Wolf, and Rex Hailey. Deidre passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 10 years old.

Deidre attended Justice Elementary Schools where she was an active member of the 5th grade class. She was a member of Hilltop First Indian Presbyterian Church, Wewoka, .

Deidre loved music and to sing. Her favorite song to sing was "Jesus Loves Me." She had an infectious smile and touched all the people she met. Deidre will be missed by all her friends and family.

A wake service will be held at Hilltop First Indian Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 7 pm. Services will be held on Thursday October 7, 2010, 1:30 pm at the Justice Elementary School Gymnasium. She is being laid to rest at Wolf Family Cemetery near PG School.

She was preceded in death by Grandmother Karen Harrison, Grandfather Gary Harrison, and Great Grandmothers, Kizzie Tiger Wolf and Mary Moses.

Deidre leaves behind to cherish her memory: parents: Autumn Harrison, Misselda Wolf, and Rex Hailey, all of Wewoka, brothers and sisters, Ashlee Hailey, Steven Wolf, Rexton Hailey, Amy Hailey, Brittany Wolf, Ralston Hailey, Angel Hailey, Destry Harrison, and Jaden Burkhart, all of Wewoka, and Lauren, Marissa, Taylor, Allison and Jesse Coker, all of Wolf, Oklahoma, Grandmother Sharon Coker of Wolf, Great Grandfather Redmond Wolf of Seminole and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and classmates.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Harrison, Cameron Myers, Adam Farani, Craig Poafpybitty, Raymond Ward, Jr. and Jonathan Valdez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be William Harrison, Chris Bryan, Dylan Burkhart and Ryan Harjo.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

James Hart Jr.

Funeral Services for long time Dentist Dr. James Darrel Hart Jr., are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 17th, 2010, at the Church of Christ, in Wewoka, with Aaron Alsbrook officiating and private interment at Oakwood Cemetery.

Dr. Hart was born in Madill, Oklahoma, December 12, 1915, to Dr. James Hart and Mary (London) Hart. He passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010, in Tulsa, at the age of ninety-four years.

After graduating from Wewoka High School, Dr. Hart attended the University of Oklahoma receiving a Bachelor of Science. He received his Dental license from Kansas University, in 1945

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and after discharge he served in the Reserve Unit.

While living in Wewoka he was very active with American Legion, Wewoka County Club, Fire Department, Volunteer Fire Department, was the Civil Defense Director, Church of Christ Elder, along with being a wonderful Husband and Father of four. He also loved carpentry and working in his yard. During the storm season he would watch for the tornados and invite the neighborhood to come to his tornado shelter. He was a very caring and generous man that loved to help people.

Preceding James in death are his parents; daughters, Betty Sharon Hart and Beverly Hart; grandsons Jason and Gregory Binghaml; sisters, Evelyn Hart Burrow, Mary Hart, Virginia Hart, Naomi Filson Ruth Hart Coxsey, and Melba Baram; brothers, Harold (Red) Hart, George Hart, and Alwayne Hart; son-in-law, Vernon Bingham.

Survivors include his wife, Allene of seventy-two years; son, James Hart III and wife Betty, of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Janet Bingham McCabe and husband Jack, of Tulsa; grandchildren, Casey Bingham, Seth Bingham, Melissa DeJesus, Amanda Keller, Trey Hart, Rayne Fitzmaurice, Chad Hart, and Kendell Campbell; nine great-grandchildren and two on the way.

Pallbearers will be: Casey Bingham, Seth Bingham, Chad Hart, Trey Hart, Raj Shori, Chris Campbell, John Fitzmaurice, and Corby Davidson.

Honorary bearers will be: Jimmy Halk, Raymond Cain, Cato Jones, Eddie Neil, and Rowdy Kincaid.

Jerry Hause

Jerry Len Hause was born on Wednesday, May 22, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life at his home in Seminole, Oklahoma on Monday, July 19, 2010, at the age of 75.

Jerry, the son of Caleb Wilson and Marguerite May (Foster) Hause, was a long-time resident of Seminole. He was a graduate of Seminole High School, was a retired licensed plumber, and was a member of Faith Assembly in Shawnee. Jerry was married to Martha Lou Lee . His parents; two brothers, Bill and Wayne Hause; two sisters, Audie Brown and Betty Hause; and one son, Rodney Hause, preceded Jerry in death.

Survivors include wife Martha Hause of the home, sons and daughter-in-law, Reggie and Bonnie Anderson of Prague, Terry Hause of Oklahoma City and Jerry Hause, Jr., of Seminole, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and John Minor of Oklahoma, sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Ronald Null of Seminole. Grandchildren, Shawn and Brandi Anderson of Prague, Ryan and Bryna Anderson of Prague, Terry, Jr., and Ciara Hause of Prague, Ciara Dodson of Texas and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Kurt Beauford and Bro. Jimmy Cresap officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery in Paden. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Timothy Hays

Services for Timothy Carlton Hays, 49, Seminole, are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Mr. Steven Choate will officiate.

Mr. Hays died Sunday, October 17, 2010 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born November 14, 1960 at Holdenville, Oklahoma to Bobby Gene and Virgie Juanita Carlton Hays. He attended school at Seminole, graduated from Seminole High School and attended Seminole State College. Mr. Hays moved to Ada in 1983 from Seminole and in 1993, he and his family moved back to Seminole.

He married Elisha Roper on August 21, 1986 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Hays was a Wonder Bread Route-Man and he served as president of the Pleasant Grove School Parent Teacher Organization.

Survivors include his wife, Elisha Hays, of the home; two sons, Tanner Cameron Hays and Erik Matthew Hays, both of the home; his parents, Bobby Gene and Virgie Juanita Hays of Seminole; his brother, Jonathan Paul Hays, Alma; four nephews, Justin and Zachary Hays and Buck and Dakota Roberson; and a niece, Morgan Phillippe.

Wilma Hembree

Wilma Faye Hembree, 91, former longtime resident of the Maud and St. Louis Oklahoma area, died Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the Coldwater Manor Nursing Home in Stratford, Texas.

Wilma was born December 13, 1918 in Bixby, Oklahoma to William " Bill " and Gladys (Hagaman) Holland.

Wilma married Alva Hembree on September 7, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in St. Louis, which along with her family was the love of her life.

Her husband, Alva Hembree of Stratford, Texas, survives her. One son Dan and of Stratford, Texas, one daughter Lucky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces and friends also survive her.

Memorial services are planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Church of Christ in St. Louis, Oklahoma. Burial was at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.

De’Kaisha Henderson

De'Kaisha Dawn Henderson, a beautiful angel, left this world on September 24th, 2010. She was born on June 21, 2010 in Ada, Oklahoma, to Kori Dawn Lee and Deangelo Henderson. She was always happy, smiling and full of life.

She is preceded in death by grandfather Johnny Thompson Sr.; grandfather Arther Henderson; great great grandmother Ina Coley; Great grandfather Sam Houston Coley; Great grandfather Eldean Hodge; Great grandmother Billie Gaines; Great grandfather Herman Gaines; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her parents Kori Dawn Lee and Deangelo Henderson; brothers Daquarius Olden and Michael Lee II; sister Demariana Henderson; grandparents Tina and Wesley Jackson; grandparents Bill and Karen Gaines; grandparents Vernita and Robert Henderson; great grandmother Marilyn Hodge; great grandmother Fannie Thompson; Aunts and Uncles, Billie Gaines and Mike Oguinn; Randall Stumblingbear; Misty Bird; Stephanie Lowery and Deandre Henderson; Jennifer Olden and Chris Hutchison; Sam and Lynett Gaines; Robert Henderson Jr. and Candy Henderson; and Leshawn Henderson; Cousins, Faera Stumblingbear; Kiya Stumblingbear; Malachi Henderson; Darius Henderson; Serina Henderson; Anthony Hutchison; Belida Coley and Bryson Hutchison; Special Caregiver's Tonya and Melvin Craig; Nick and Nate Craig.

Pall Bearers will be Deangelo Henderson and Deandre Henderson. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Sam Gaines, Daquarius Olden, Nick Craig, Nate Craig, Malachi Henderson, Bill Gaines, Robert Henderson, Wesley Jackson, Melvin Craig, Stephen Olden and John Coley.

A wake service will be held on Monday September 27, 2010 at 6:00pm at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.

Jeffery Hendryx

Longtime Seminole resident Jeffery Clyde "Jeff" Hendryx lost his battle with cancer at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, January 15, 2010.

Jeff was born in Seminole, Oklahoma on April 4, 1955, to Clyde Edward Hendryx and Mary Imogene (Fleming) Hendryx.

Jeff made his living working in the oilfield. He ran a pulling unit, "The Grey Ghost, " for his dad at Seminole Tank Service. He also ran a rig for K&H Well Service. As the oilfield declined he tried driving a semi cross-country but couldn’t stand being away from his family. Until he wasn’t able to work anymore due to the cancer Joe Mills Well Service employed him where he ran Rig #9.

Jeff spent many summers coaching summer league softball and baseball teams for his son and daughter. He loved spending time with his kids on the ball field.

His father, Clyde Edward Hendryx; his brother, Ronnie Hendryx; a brother-in-law, Charlie Kelley; and one nephew, Shane Hendryx, precede Jeff in death.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Imogene Hendryx, of Seminole, Oklahoma; the mother of his children, Gayla Hendryx Melton, who cared for him during his illness (they were married for 23 years); one son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Carissa Hendryx, of Seminole, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Joshua McCutcheon of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sisters, Susan Kelley, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Lori Cruce, of Seminole, Oklahoma; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Mike and Venus Hendryx, of Seminole, Oklahoma and Scott Hendryx, of Seminole, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Lois Hendryx (Ronnie’s widow), of Seminole, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Mariah, Kaylynn, Steven, Haley Hendryx, Melissa, Caleb and Laura McCutcheon, all of Seminole, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Carrie, Hollie, and Jason Hendryx, all of Seminole, Oklahoma and Melanie and Brian Smith, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Alice Kelley and Charles Kelley, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Sarah Tooley, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Megan Goodman, of Seminole, Oklahoma, Ashleigh, Andria and Josh Torres of Seminole, Oklahoma; longtime friends Jim and Linda Malone, of Seminole, Oklahoma along with a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Bowlegs First Assembly of God Church, in Bowlegs, Oklahoma.

Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Allen Wood, Rev. Roy Robertson and Rev. Mark Fox will officiate the service.

Casket bearers will be: Rick Jones, Jarod Collinsworth, Jose Prieto, Ronnie Gambell, Brad Schultz and Terry Renfro.

Honorary bearers will be: Roger and Lisa Mills, Rita Ballew, Bobby Mack, Jim Malone, Steven Hendryx, Caleb McCutcheon, Jimmy Bost and Jimmy Moreland.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Todd Kliwer and his favorite oncology nurse Debra as well as Heartland Hospice.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, Oklahoma.
