Juanita (Wood) Robertson Knoles, 97, and a former resident of Konawa, died on Friday, December 3, 2010, at Heritage Village in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Mitch Williams, Pastor of Byng Assembly of God Church will officiate.
Juanita was born on September 20, 1912 in Hazel, Oklahoma to Jessie (Norris) and Bob Wood. She married Johnny Robertson in 1921 at Hazel, and she was a Licensed Practical Nurse. Juanita was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son, Bobby Ellis Robertson of Choctaw, one daughter, Jane Hirn of Seminole, one brother, Leon Wood of Sulphur, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Bob Wood; two sons, Darrell Eldon Robertson and Harold Eudon Robertson; one granddaughter, one grandson, one brother, Lonzo Wood; and five sisters, Louella Mensay, Lillie Griffin, Idel Wood, Velma Milsap, and Lois Pyke.
Visitaion will be Sunday, December 5th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Fred Kuestersteffen
Fred Joseph Kuestersteffen, Jr., age 48 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Valley View Regional Hospital after battling cancer.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15th at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Rev. Pam Shirk, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Konawa, will officiate.
Fred was born on August 12, 1961, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Margaret (Abbott) and Fred J. Kuestersteffen. He graduated from Konawa High School in 1979. He was employed as a Civil Service Aircraft Inspector for Tinker Air Force Base for 23 years. Fred was also an environmentalist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred J. Kuestersteffen.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Kuestersteffen of Konawa; two sisters, Brenda Phillips and Sherry Butler, both of Konawa; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Mary Kyle
Mary Paula (Martin) Kyle passed from this life on October 15, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Mary Elizabeth in Temple, Texas following a valiant battle with cancer over the past three months.
Paula was born to William Paul and Myrtle (Becks) Martin at Harber Hospital in Seminole, Oklahoma on August 6, 1943. She grew up in the Butner community. where her father served as Superintendent of Schools from August 1944 until June 1961. She was active in the 4-H Club, her church, and played basketball in grade school and high school. Paula taught piano
Mary is survived by her three children. Mary, Martin and Rose all of whom live in the Belton - Temple area of Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cord Henley of Seminole, Victoria, Tanith, Jacob and Megan of Texas, and two great-grandchildren in Seminole.
She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Paul Martin of Seminole, her older brother, Don Martin and his wife Maria, of Seminole, and younger brother Michael Wade Martin of Wichita, Kansas, as well as a host of other friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul in 1970, and by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She was baptized into Christ as a teenager at the Church of Christ in Wewoka.
Private funeral arrangements are pending. In lieu of cards and flowers, for those who wish to honor Paula's life, the family suggests donations be made in Paula's name to The American Cancer Society, Hospice or your local church.
Paula leaves so many with priceless memories and the knowledge that her eternal soul is precious to God.

Fred Lacquement
Fred H. Lacquement, long time banker and resident of Wewoka, OK passed away on April 29, 2010 at the age of 90 years at Mercy Health Center, Oklahoma City.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at The Wewoka First United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee.
Fred was born August 1, 1919 to Frank Harold and Ona (Carpenter) Lacquement in Prague.
He graduated from Prague High School in 1937 while working with his father in a family grocery business.
He married Edna P. Simpson of Shawnee in 1941 and while waiting to be drafted into the armed services he became a bookkeeper for Prague National Bank.
He continued to work in finance for the military while serving in New Guinea and later in the liberation of the Philippines.
After honorable discharge from the military service, Fred was re-employed at the Prague National Bank.
He continued his business education at LaSalle extension University.
He purchased an interest in Stroud National Bank where he assumed full management responsibilities in 1960.
While in Stroud he was active in community government, many civic clubs, and an active member in the First Methodist Church.
In 1967 Fred and Edna purchased controlling interest in First National Bank, Wewoka.
He served as President and Chief Executive Officer until becoming Chairman of the Board in 1987. He remained in that capacity until his death.
He loved the community of Wewoka and the State of Oklahoma and was active in many civic affairs.
Fred was proud of his involvement with the Seminole Nation Museum serving as a board member many years.
He was a past President of Wewoka Chamber of Commerce, a 50 year member of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, and a 50 year member of the Lions Club, being honored with the Melvin Jones Fellowship.
In 1976 Fred was appointed by then Governor David Boren as a Director of the Oklahoma Industrial Finance Authority.
He served as Chairman of this board during the Bellmon Administration.
An appointment as an honorary Colonel of the Oklahoma National Guard was a cherished honor but his faith in Christ was the foundation of his life and he served faithfully the First United Methodist Church, Wewoka in many leadership capacities.
Fred was surrounded by many special friends and colleagues.
The employees of First National Bank were important in his success and treasured for their loyalty.
His caregiver's, Massa, Willie, Carlotta, Nancy, and Jerry were loving and devoted to his comfort.
The love and compassion of his many friends during his illness was source of strength for him and his family.
Preceding Fred in death are his parents, his wife Edna, six siblings and special friend Mary Claybrook.
Survivors include his two daughters: Donna and Dale Nichols of Wewoka, their children Drew and wife Amy Nichols of Norman; Deanna Beverage and husband Adrian of Oklahoma City; daughter Karen and husband Dan Garvey of Oklahoma City and their children; Anna Averling and husband Hans of Dallas, Texas; Katheryn Nimmo and husband Dusty of Norman; Alison Snider and husband Dan of Lyons, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Donations in memory of Fred Lacquement may be made to the Wewoka First United Methodist Church and The Seminole Nation Museum of Wewoka.
J.T. Lawson
J.T. Lawson, 91, longtime Seminole County resident passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010.
He was born on June 14, 1919 in Maud, Oklahoma to Mal and Pearl (Edgman) Lawson. He married Edna Louise (Thomas) Lawson on May 20, 1940 in Konawa, Oklahoma. They just celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with their family and friends.
He graduated from Punkin Center and attended one year at ECU, he attended Wolf Freewill Baptist Church and served on the Wolf School Board during the 1950’s
He owned and operated Lawson Truck and Dozer Company and retired in 1995, he was also a farmer and raised cattle. He loved his catfish pond and keeping them well fed. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories two sons and daughter-in-laws: Mike and Gayla Lawson of Seminole, Jim and Vivian Lawson of Eufaula and daughter Sue Nelson of Shawnee, sister, Kathleen Lane of Oklahoma City, he is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Verna Lewis in 1998.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Wood. Interment will follow at Wolf Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Monty Yerby, Mark Newman, Larry LaRay, Bob Villines, Gary Aldridge and Tommy Hudson.
Frances Lemmings
Frances Lee Lemmings, 88, former longtime Seminole area resident, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was born July 4, 1921, in Drumright, Oklahoma, to Jesse and Ola Marie (Houchen) Edney.
Frances grew up in the Shawnee area and attended Grove School. She married Alton W. Lemmings on July 20, 1937, in Little, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1995. She spent most of her adult life in the Vamoosa area south of Seminole, Oklahoma. For the past 10 years she has lived in the Autumn House retirement home, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Vamoosa Baptist Church and was baptized in 1958, at the Konawa First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lemmings was a CMA for 13 years at the Tucker Nursing Home, in Konawa, Oklahoma. Her main calling in life was a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to take care of her family. She loved cooking for her family, canning, gardening, sewing, crocheting, quilting and playing dominoes were also among her favorite things to do.
In her earlier years she and her sister Vera were champion square dancers. At the Autumn House in Midwest City, Oklahoma she loved to bake pies for the nursing staff and remained very active up until the time of her death, by playing dominos and teaching sign language.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law’s, Ronnie and Jerry LaNita Lemmings, of Konawa, Jerry and Nancy Lemmings, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and Paul and Vicki Lemmings, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Frances J. and Ronnie Jackson, of Midwest City, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren also survive her.
Her parents; husband; son, Raymond Lemmings; sister, Vera Marie Giddens; and niece, Sandra Godwin, preceded Frances in death.
Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Little Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Emmons of the First Baptist Church, in Prague, Oklahoma, officiating the service, burial will be at Little Cemetery.
Her grandchildren will act as casket bearers.
Brandon Lena
Seminole resident Brandon Ross Lena passed away on July 28, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 28.
He was born on July 28, 1982 in Ada, Oklahoma to Alene Deere and Bobby George Lena. He graduated from Sasakwa High School and was a stocker at Seminole Wal-Mart.
He is survived by his mother Alene Deere of Seminole and father Bobby George Lena of Glenpool. He is also survived by 5 sisters, Marget Leslie Lena of Carnargie, Leslie Deere Powell of Seminole, Maggie Lena of Seminole and Breanna Lena of Glenpool, four brothers, Wayland Deere of McAlester, Robin Lena of Seminole, Matt Lena of Glenpool, and Corbin Lena of Gleenpool, and step-sister, Annie Harjo of Glenpool and step-brothers, Russell Harjo and Billy Harjo of Glenpool, . He is also survived by two nieces Krystan and Tracey Powell and two nephews Daniel Benn Buckley, II, and a very special nephew Marcus Yahola.
Wake services were held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Seminole.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church with Houston Tiger officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Wake services for Jeremy Dean Lena are scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at AKASVMKV Baptist Church, with Rev.Dan Factor and Rev.George Harjochee officiating.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday November 2, 2010 at AKASVMKV Baptist Church with Rev George Harjochee officiating.
Interment will follow at Bird Creek Cemetery in Sasakwa.
Jeremy Dean Lena, age 21 years, was killed in a car accident Thursday afternoon near Sasakwa.
He was born on November 1, 1988 in Ada to Sterling Wood and Tonya Louise Miller.
He was a graduate of Thunderbird Youth Academy in Pryor.
At the time of his death he was employed by Victor Johnson Well Service.
Jeremy loved to fish, lift weights, watch football, and spend time with his nieces, nephews and family.
He is preceded in death by his sister Veronica Lena, grandparents, Robert and Wanda Lena, Bennie and Nannie Factor.
Survivors include his Father Sterling Wood of Seminole; Mother Tonya Louise Miller of Ada; Sisters; Stacy Lena, Sasakwa; Tawny Stewart, Wewoka; Adrianna Wood, Bowlegs; Rhianna Wood, Bowlegs, and Tiffany Carbitchee; Brothers, Monroe Carbitcher, Jake Carbitcher, and Brandon Carbitcher; Grandparents Mary Factor of Sasakwa: Anthonnette Jones, of Wolf; two brother-in-laws Greg Buck and Joseph L. Stewart; Nieces and Nephews: Wanda Lou Buck, Lena Mae Buck, Grace Stewart, Isaiah Stewart, Joseph Stewart III, Michael Stewart, En-Le-Te-Ke Buck; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers are Joseph Stewart Jr., Greg Buck, Jordan Miller, Oscar Cellars, Stephen Harrison, and Moses Factor.
Honorary Bearers are Terry Cellars, and his nephews.
