Dwaine (Wayne) Francis O’Connor, 63, Longtime Konawa resident died Jan. 15, 2010, at Colonial Estates Nursing Home, in Shawnee. He was born July 31, 1947, to Garland Leo and Vera Naomi (West) O’Connor.
He moved to this area from Shawnee, in 1997. He graduated from St. Benedict’s High School, in Shawnee. He was a longtime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Konawa.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1970, serving in Germany and Vietnam. He was a carpenter by profession.
He is survived by his mother; brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (O’Connor), of Newalla, Gene Thomas O’Connor, of Shawnee, Margaret Ellen (O’Connor), of Apopka, Fla., Steven Lawrence O’Connor, of Konawa, Hal Edward O’Connor, of Shawnee, Lee Victor O’Connor, of Konawa, Janice Marie O’Connor, of Konawa, Jo Ann O’Connor, of Konawa, and Loretta Pamela O’Connor, of Shawnee.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Rosary was scheduled for 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Konawa and a Funeral Mass was held Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Konawa. Father Joe Arledge, O.S.B. and Father Adrian Vorderlandwehr O.S. B. were the celebrants. Burial followed with Military Honors at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Konawa.
Funeral Services were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
Betty O’Daniel
Betty Jo (Richard) O’Daniel was born on May 20, 1928 to Clarence and Bessie (Long) Richard in St, Louis.
She was called home by the Lord on January 20, 2010, from her home at the age of 81.
Betty married Ray O’Daniel December 26, 1946, and they had a special marriage for 59 years.
She had many friends from various organizations that she participated in during her life which include Remus Home Demonstration Club, 4-H and F.H.A. She was a mother and was a member of the PTA.
Betty was also a faithful member of the Church of God in Maud for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray O’Daniel, her parents, Clarence Richard and Bessie Richard; two brothers, C.A. Richard Jr. and David Richard; two sisters, Frances Craney and Gloria Decker; and one daughter, Susie O’Daniel.
She is survived by one son, Charley O’Daniel and wife Trela of Yukon; three daughters; Mary Hopper and husband Clarence of Maud, Debbie Malcom of Maud, and Penny Hurd and husband Brent of Bridgeport, Texas.
She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one more on the way.
A host of family and friends also survive her.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at the Church of God in Maud.
Dan Casper and Charley O’Daniel will officiate.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 190, Maud, Oklahoma 74854.
Pallbearers will be Josh O’Daniel, Jay O’Daniel, Caleb Hurd, Garrett Malcom, Gerald Allison, Stephen Byrd and Rick Nagel.
Honorary Bearers will be Ronnie Ross, George Eastling, Jake Hayhurst, Matt Wiman and Evert Anderson.
Services are under the direction of Knight~Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.
Fred Oliver
Fred Oliver, a former Seminole resident, died on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Del City, at age 67.
He was born January 20, 1943 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Don Oliver and Bonnie (Combs) Oliver.
Fred attended Seminole Schools where he played football and baseball. He later moved to Oklahoma City and served in the Army National Guard.
Fred was a welder-millwright and earned a job helping build the General Motors Plant. He then went to work for General Motors retiring after 27 years of service. He also raised ostrich’s, emu’s, horses, dogs and cats and loved them all.
Fred is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rick Oliver of Mid-West City, one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Starzenski, and five grandchildren all of Mid-West City.
The family wants to thank Hospice Quality Car and Integris Cancer Center for the care he received while he was there. The family has designated donations to be made in memory of Fred to Hospice Quality Care, 921 S. Sooner Road, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73110.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Glen Osburn
Glen Robert Osburn, 67, of Oklahoma City entered the portals of Glory July 10.
He was born to Glen Eugene Osburn and Helen Downing on October 3, 1942 in Seminole, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father and stepparents.
Glen is survived by his mother of Seminole, his loving wife of 49 years Melodie Beth and only son Gregory Glen of Jones, Sammy of the home under the bed, 7 sisters and a host of loving nieces and nephews, many loving family members and friends.
Glen was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. He was employed at Exterran Energy Solutions as a Regional Sales Director. He was previously employed at Hertz Corp located at Will Rogers Airport.
Glen enjoyed many family vacations, especially the ski trips to Taos, NM. He also enjoyed deer hunting, gourmet cooking and grilling, and taking care of his family. Glen had a quick wit, always with a joke. He was a man of integrity, loyalty, honesty and love. "The greatest of these being love."
Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday at Southern Hills Baptist Church located at 8601 S. Penn, OKC. Arrangements made through Advantage Funeral Home, 7720 S Penn, OKC with Interment at Resthaven Cemetery in Seminole, OK.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Southern Hills Baptist Church Homebound Program/Alzheimers Program.
Mildred L. Owen
Mrs. Mildred L. Owen, 88, of Midwest City went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2010.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Layton Owen and daughter, Vicki Owen.
She is survived by two sons, Roger and Kevon Owen, their spouses, three grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many great, wonderful friends.
Services will be held at Soldier Creek Baptist Church in Midwest City at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 16, 2010 with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.

Jackie Pamplin
Jackie Lynn Pamplin of Ada, OK. passed away Monday, June 14th, 2010 in Oklahoma City at the age of 78 years. He is the father of Wewoka resident Carolyn Brown.
Born October 27, 1931 in Konawa, OK to Henry Foy and Laura (Brock) Pamplin.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Aurva Brown of Wewoka; grandchildren Tina Wainwright of Seminole; Lisa Brown, Wewoka; and Bryan Brown of Wewoka; four great-grandchildren, sister Wilda Thomas of Weatherford, TX and nephew Vaugh Pamplin and a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mamie, daughter Barbara Strothers, brothers Billy Bob Pamplin: Jim Pamplin, and sister Wanda Huckleberry.
Jackie served in the US Navy and after serving his country resided in California and worked for the City of Los Angeles as an Electrician. He loved camping, photography, and collecting rock.
He will be missed by all his friends at Sterling House in Ada, and his family.
A Memorial Service will be held at later date.

William Pantel
William Clyde "Bill" Pantel, 75, of Waco, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
Bill was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Howard and Marion (Saunders) Pantel.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Margaret Embach on October 15, 1960. He had a long and successful marketing career in special sales. He moved to Waco, in 1990, and was a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. For several years, he portrayed the character of "Old Doc" at the Dr. Pepper Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Pantel; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Embach, of Athens, Ga., and Judith Ann Collis, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews, John Wares, James Collis, Brian Humphrey, Bruce Humphrey and their families; numerous cousins; and his beloved pets, Annie, Sugar, Oscar, Boots, and Shadow Baby.

Mary Parker
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Parker will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Seminole Church of Christ with Chris Stinnett officiating.
Parker was a longtime Seminole resident, who died on April 29, 2010, after a short illness.
Parker was a resident of the Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole.
She was born in Dustin on August 22, 1912, living to the age of 97.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Hamlin, of Dustin (who died in 1921), and Pearl Hamlin, (who died in Seminole in 1944).
Parker was also preceded in death by her husband, Houston Parker, also of Seminole, and two sisters, Birty Leggett, of Gladewater, Texas and Lettie Hicks of Seminole, .
Additionally, one daughter, Norma Lee Sursa, of Lubbock, Texas, is also deceased.
Parker was a devout Christian and a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Seminole.
She was especially noted for expertise in sewing and alterations at the now defunct Adwan’s specialty shop.
Parker at one time made a party gown for Dana Boren.
She was educated in the Seminole school system and studied under Miss Burnette, a noted History teacher in Seminole High School.
Parker is survived by: sister, Minnie Evens of Seminole; two children, Louise Phillips, of Huntsville, Texas and Retired Air Force Colonel Bill Parker, of Edmond; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
A reception will follow for family members and close friends following a short graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole.
Johnny Parrish
Johnny Lewen Parrish, Maud, died on July 26, 2010 at his home. Born in Brawley, California on January 29, 1948, to Alice Jordan and Jay Parish who both preceded him in death.
Johnny married Arlene Stalnaker Parish for 27 years.
He was a U.S. Vet and retired from the Army Corp of Engineers. He resided in Maud with is family for 27 years.
Johnny was survived by his wife, three children Teara Tammy, and Rick, grandchildren, Aaron and KayLynn, Madison and Grant.
Virginia Pasko
Seminole resident Virginia Pasko, age 91, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Midwest Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1918, in Seminole County to John Thurman and Maude Bell (Stafford) Dotts.
She was married to William Pasko.
She grew up in the Cromwell area of Seminole County and graduated from high school, and later moved to Ohio, and Tennessee while her husband was working in those areas. She moved back to Seminole in 1973. She was a Homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, in Oklahoma City, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
