Bill Taylor

Bill Taylor, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Tulsa, OK.

Born February 1, 1922 in Bald Hill, OK to Hulin B. and Hazel (Dunn) Taylor. Married Hope Mainord on June 3, 1949.

Bill was a member of Eastland Assembly of God Church. Served his country through service in the Army-Air Corps and Civilian Conservation Corps.

He worked for Pacific Pump later called Dresser Industries for 35 years. Bill had a deep belief in faith, family, friends, and country.

Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorotha Moody, and Millie Walker and husband, Willie; brothers, Wayne Taylor and wife, June, and Gene Taylor and wife, Virgie, and Ray Taylor and wife, Sue.

Survived by his wife, Hope Taylor of the home; daughters, Margaret Durham and husband, Cole of Mesa, AZ, and Marie Moore and husband, Billy of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Lee Taylor and wife, Judy of Katy, TX; grandchildren, Kyle and Barbara Gawthorp, Danya and Kevin Ponsness, Christopher and Mollie Moore, Kimberly and William Nelson, Lori and Mica Greenwood, Tim, William Andrew (Andy), and Nikki Taylor; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Monique, Christian, and Kyleah Gawthorp, Austin and Taylor Hope Ponsness, Charles (Chaz) and William Andrew (Billy) Moore, Blake, Connor and Allyssa Marie Hope Nelson, Hannah and Kaden Greenwood, and Peyton Taylor.

Visitation 6-8 P.M., Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Moore’s Southlawn. Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 28, 2010 at Eastland Assembly of God Church. Interment will be 4:00 P.M., Resthaven Cemetery, Shawnee, OK.

Flossie Taylor

Flossie Louise Taylor, 82, of Oklahoma City left this earth on January 8, 2010.

She was born August 11, 1927 to Thelma and Clavin Perry Mercer.

She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Putnam City High School.

She became and accomplished artist in high school and carried that throughout her life.

She married the love of her life Joel Ayres Taylor. They had four children and together they were very involved in the community.

She was PTA President from `57-58 and again `66-68. It thrilled her to belong to Eastern Star where she developed many lifelong friendships.

She was Worthy Matron of Del City Order of Eastern Star in 1970.

Following the death of her husband she moved to Wewoka to enjoy small town life.

She quickly immersed herself in the community and opened the Antique House 1983-2008.

This was her passion she was always looking for finds, working on them, or researching antiques.

Every week you could find her at Rotary Club where she served as the first woman President in Oklahoma.

She was the United Wewoka Merchants President from 1983-85 and Sorghum Day Chairperson `84-86.

Flossie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Hank Mercer, husband, daughter Teri Jo Johns, sons Mark and Timothy Taylor.

She is survived by her brother Larry Mercer and sister Paggy Milligan both of Oklahoma City, daughter Lila Lee Schwartz, granddaughter Leesha Call both of Oklahoma City and granddaughters Adrea Johns and Christy McLaurin both of Midwest City, and 4 great grandsons.

She loved to share her passion for antiques, art, and fishing with those who were willing to learn.

She was a leader and creative thinker always striving to make the world more beautiful.

Flossie was feisty, strong, and creative until the end.

She is unforgettable; please join us as we celebrate her life at 2 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the First Unitarian Church; 600 N.W. 13th St.; OKC.

Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7 p.m. Wednesday (1/13) at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home; 1820 S. Douglas Blvd. Midwest City. Interment to follow at SunnyLane Cemetery, Del City.

Jesse Taylor

Jesse Edmond Taylor, Sr., age 78, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at his home in Sasakwa, Oklahoma on Saturday, January 9, 2010.

He was born Nov. 22, 1931, to A. J. Taylor and Era (Westerman) Taylor, in Wewoka. He was brought up in the Wewoka area and attended New Lima schools, then followed oilfield work for several years.

He married Ola Christine Roberts on July 7, 1952. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in 1955, where he worked for the Fort Worth Sewer and Water Works until 1968, when they moved to Seabrook, Texas, where he was employed by the Sanitary Service Corporation. They returned to Oklahoma in 1971 and became owner/ operator/ producer of the Taylor & Roberts Oil Company, which they operated until 1976, then moved back to Texas and lived in Kemah while he worked for the city of Lomax as City Public Works Director.

When the cities of Lomax and LaPorte merged, he was employed as City Inspector for LaPorte until he retired in 1985. He and his wife moved to Lake Eufaula in 1988 and then to Sasakwa, their home since 1995.

He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Linda Cheryl Taylor; parents; and brother, Billy Ray Taylor.

He is survived by his sons, Jesse ‘Eddie' Taylor, Jr., and Wayne Taylor, both of Sasakwa; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Lee McAdoo and Johnnie Fay, both of Eufaula.

Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2 p.m., and he will be laid to rest in the Holdenville Cemetery, with Luke Morrison officiating.

Pallbearers are: Eddie Taylor, Wayne Taylor, Mike Taylor, Rick Taylor, Luke Morrison and Tim Brady.

Honorary pallbearers are: Chuck Lee, Bobby Murray and J. L. Robertson.

Services are under direction of Fisher Funeral Home, of Holdenville.

Kenneth Taylor

Longtime Seminole resident Kenneth "Ken" Taylor passed away on December 31, 2009, in Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 79.

He was born on December 3, 1930, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Major Taylor and Alma (Adams) Taylor.

He married Francene (Crane) Taylor on May 17, 1952 and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2009.

He worked for Wonder Bread for over 36 years in Seminole and Shawnee where he was a supervisor. He was a member of the Seminole Elks Lodge and he served in the United States Army in the medical corp. He was stationed in France during the Korean War.

He was a graduate of Shawnee High School.

Ken leaves to cherish his memories one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Donna Taylor, of Antrim, New Hampshire; two daughters, Lea Ann Taylor, of Ada, Oklahoma, and Karen Everett, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three brothers, Don Taylor, of Kingston, Oklahoma, Harold Taylor, of Kingston, and Theron Taylor, of Pecola, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeremy Pippenger, Matt and Meghan Pippenger, Royce and Erica Pochinski, Kristen Taylor, Brandon Taylor and Taylor Everett; eight great-grandchildren, Shelby, Caitlynn, Logan, Maddox, Jaken, Aiden, Maverick and Zayne; and a baby boy Jaxen, due in February 2010, he is also survived by a host of other family and dear friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

Bobby Tefertiller

Funeral services for Bobby Gene Tefertiller are scheduled for Friday, November 5, 2010 at Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa, OK at 10:00 a.m. with Duane Eggleston officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout Phillips Funeral Home.

Bobby Gene Tefertiller, age 76, passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born August 7, 1934 to Homer and Ruby Tefertiller. He attended Oklahoma State University and studied chemistry before being drafted into the U.S. Army. After his Service was completed, Bob lived in Tulsa where he met his wife, Peggy (Simon) Tefertiller at church. They were married November 1, 1959 and made their home there. Bob worked for Sun Oil Company for over thirty-five years. He and Peggy were married forty-seven years until she passed away in 2007.

Bob was beloved for his out-going personality and infectious laugh. He was happiest with an audience of family and friends to listen to him tell stories. Bob was very mechanically minded and often suggested innovative solutions to problems.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ruby Tefertiller, his wife, Peggy, and two brothers, Ken Tefertiller of Florida and Homer Tefertiller of Texas. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Tefertiller and his wife Tessa, Jay Tefertiller, and four grandchildren: Sophia, Vivian, Dane, and Rhys; one brother, Ed Tefertiller; two sisters, Velma Purdue and Elsie Yager.

John Thoma

John Raymond Thoma, 67, longtime Seminole resident died Friday, June 4, 2010 in Seminole. John was born July 21, 1942 in Seminole, Oklahoma to John S. and Mary Anlee (Hyatt) Thoma.

John grew up in Seminole and attended and graduated from Strothers High School where he just celebrated his 50th class reunion. John served in the U.S. Army National Guard for six years and attained the rank of sergeant. John was retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he was a parts inspector for over 20 years.

John also spent many years helping his father-in-law, Lynn Loy, at Little Cemetery with care-taking duties. John was a member of the Church of Christ here in Seminole and an active participant at the "Heritage House" in Seminole, where he had served as President of the Site Council. John baked cookies, and did so for family, friends, bake sales and the Heritage House.

John was always doing something for someone else. He fixed things for those who needed his help and were unable to do for themselves. John was a fisherman.

John was married to Judy Lynn (Loy) Thoma on August 17, 1962 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

John is survived by his wife Judy Thoma of the home, Two daughters; Shari and Jack Ames of Oklahoma City, and Shelli Freeman of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by four brothers Jimmie Thoma of New Mexico, Harrel Thoma of Bowlegs, Henry Thoma Prague, and Johnnie Lee Thoma of Prague, Five sisters; Reba Searcy of Del City, Aline Robbins of Tecumseh, Joann Kirkham of Woodward, Ann Lee Hopkins of Enid, and Norma June Scott of Canton. Delila Loy of McAlister, He is also survived by his grandchildren great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, a brother Sylvester Thoma and a sister, Baby Girl Thoma, preceded him in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1p.m, Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Church of Christ at 4200 Highway 99N in Seminole. Chris Stinnett will be officiating the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ Building Fund or the Heritage House.

Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Glenn Tiger

Glenn Tiger of Grand Prarie, Texas died on April 17, 2010, at the age of 59, after an extender illness.

He graduated from Byng High School near Ada, Oklahoma; and later received his nursing degree from El Centro College in Dallas, Texas.

Tiger was a Seminole Tribal Member born to Edmond Tiger, Sr. and Mable Parnacher Tiger.

He was the grandson of the late John and Emma Tiger of Wewoka.

Survivors include his wife Marie, of the home, a son Brian Tiger, a daughter Bianca Tiger, four sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services were held for Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10 a.m. The services took place at Matthew Road Baptist Church in Grand Prarie, Texas. Pastor Daniel Sweet officiated the services.

Joann Tiger

Joann Beverly Tiger, 68, longtime Seminole resident died, Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Joann was born May 17, 1942 at Wichita Falls, Texas to Sterling M. and Mattie Emma (Cavin) Price.

Joann moved to Seminole 34 years ago from Holliday, Texas and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Seminole and was retired from Hayes Axle after 23 years of being a Quality Control Inspector.

Joann married Donald Edward Tiger on July 7, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joann is survived by her husband of 48 years Donald Edward Tiger of Seminole, Oklahoma. Three daughters Quinna Jo Morris of McKinney, Texas, Beckie Powell of Seminole, Oklahoma and Rachel Leigh Dinwiddie of Seminole, Oklahoma and one son Donald E. Tiger II of Seminole, Oklahoma. Sister, Sherri Dubbs of Pennsylvania and a brother Bobby Lee Price of Graham, Texas, also survives Joann.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Timothy Powell, Sara Powell, Korie Powell, Joshua Dinwiddie and Jessica Dinwiddie also survive her and great grandchildren, Treyton Powell, Kanin Powell, Braydon Powell, Phoenix Powell, Paris Powell, Rylee Powell, Timothy Joe Powell.

Her parents and a sister Juanita Price preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David McDougal officiating. Burial will follow at the Tiger Family Cemetery.

Casket Bearers will be Calvin Dinwiddie, Jamie Powell, Joshua Powell, Timothy Powell, Sky Sweetman and Shelby Barber. Honorary bearers will be Pembroke Tiger, Randall J. Tiger, and Donald Lee Tiger II.

Lucille Timmons

Longtime Seminole resident Lucille Timmons, age 66, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at her home. She was born April 28, 1943, in Whitesboro, Texas, to Andrew Leo and Geneva Gertrude (Aaron) Miller.

She came to Seminole 53 years ago from Whitesboro, Texas. She married Bobby Timmons, Jan. 20, 1959, in Ada. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Temple of Praise Church, in Seminole.

She is survived by her husband; sons, James Timmons, of Seminole, Rickey Timmons, of Las Banos, Calif., Daniel Timmons, of Shawnee, and Ronnie Timmons, of Seminole; daughter Renee’ Jordan, of Mena, Ark.; brother, Clyde Miller, of Tulsa, sisters, Leta Sutton, of Edmond, Mary Ann Busby, of Arlington, Texas, Vera Lee Haney, of Hereford, Texas, and Juanita Stanley, of Splendora, Texas; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leo Miller, and sisters, Carolyn Campbell and Shirley Burton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday Feb. 15, 2010, at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, in Seminole. Private burial services will take place at Little Cemetery at a later date.
