Shirley Darlene Walden, mother, wife, sister, and friend passed from this world, at the age of 68 years, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on January 20, 2010.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2010, at Stout-Phillips Chapel with Brandon Thetford officiating and burial to follow at Holdenville Cemetery.
Darlene was born April 19, 1941, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Maudie (Hines) McCabe.
She united in marriage to Alton Walden April 19, 1975.
Darlene worked at Wal-Mart, in Seminole, as cashier for many years. She loved sewing, watching game shows, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and frogs along with Elvis memorabilia.
Survivors include husband, Alton of 34 years; four daughters, Margaret Thetford and husband Tim, of Seminole, Ronda Ozeretny and husband Mike, of Oklahoma City, Khristine Griggs, of Holdenville, and Rachel Griggs, of Holdenville; two sons, Donald Griggs, of Holdenville, and Phillips Griggs, of Wewoka; four stepsons, Gary Walden, Johnnie Walden, Keith and wife Sherri, and Michael Walden; three sisters, Betty Jo Deere, Kathy Plank and husband Ronnie, and Judy Sneed; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Darlene in death are her parents; and two brothers, Bennie Smith and Jimmy Dale McCabe,
Linnia Walker
Linnia Faye Walker, 65, of Russellville, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at her home.
She was born Jan. 26, 1944, to Noble and Arzella Reeves Rodgers She retired from Razorback Cab Company in Fort Smith, Ark.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd Walker, Jr., of Russellville, and Phillip Walker of Ft. Smith; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Rodgers, of Seminole, and Gene Rodgers, of Seneca, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three daughters; and sister.
Memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at Oak Cemetery, in Fort Smith. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Isaac Walters Jr.
Funeral services for Isaac "Oscar" Walters Jr. will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Prairie Spring Indian Baptist Church in Okemah.
Interment will follow at the Hicks Family Cemetery north of Okemah.
Isaac "Oscar" Walters Jr. was born October 9, 1947 in Wewoka to Frank Walters and Susie (Leitka) Walters. He died Friday, March 26, 2010 in Tulsa at the age of 62.
Walters grew up in the Wewoka area and had been a resident of the Mason area for more than 35 years.
He and Mary Hicks were married July 16, 1973.
Walters worked many years for Okfuskee County before his health forced him to retire in 2008.
He also served his country with the Oklahoma Army National Guard for 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 niece, and 1 great-nephew.
Survivors include his wife Mary Walters of Castle; two sons, Frankie Walters of Oklahoma City and Ernest Lee McPerryman of Morris; three daughters, Lorena Smith of the home, Abby Dearman of Okemah, and Rebecca Walters of the home; 6 brothers, Leo Tiger of Seminole, Leon McPerryman of Holdenville, Louis Walters of Haydonville, Frank Walters of Holdenville, Jessie Long of Holdenville, and Roy Larney of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Betsy Harjo of Wewoka and Vivian Derrick also of Wewoka; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Serving as active pallbearer will be Craig Poafpybitty, Leo Tiger Jr., Sagey Hicks, Abe Walters Jr., Andrew Shaw, and Josiah Harjo.
Honorary Bearers include Justin Smith, Wilson Tiger Jr., Max Henry, Mike Morgan, Mike Dunson, Gilbert Franklin, Delmer "PeeWee" Lewis, and Greg Poafpybitty.
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah with Bro. Robert Davis and Jimsey Harjo officiating.
Russell Warden
Ronald "Russell" Warden, 45, former Seminole resident died on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 24, 1965 in Talihina, Oklahoma to parents Carl Warden and Jeanette (Joseph) Factor.
Russell graduated from Sequoyah High School and had worked as a general laborer until be became ill with cancer. Russell was also a proud member of the Seminole Nation.
Survivors include his father, Carl Warden of Seminole, former wife, Angela Johnston of Wichita, Kansas; one son, Jacobi Warden of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Verna Warden of Clinton, Chelsea Warden and Jacie Warden both of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Donald Ray Factor of Enid, one sister, Stacy Bequer of Tampa, Florida; and a host of other family and friends.
Russell is preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Factor; and by three brothers, Ricky, Mike and Gary Warden.
A wake service will be held Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, December 6, 2010 at Sand Creek Eufaula Church. Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Kenneth Warling
Konawa resident Kenneth Iver Warling, age 53, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Valley View Regional Hospital, in Ada.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1956, in Lake Park, Minn., to Dorothy (Zimmerman) and Iver Warling. He worked as a welder.
He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Neumann-Lindback, of the home; daughters, Tiffany and Jennifer of Ulen, Minnesota; and one sister, Kathleen (Warling) Faison, of Lake Park, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 11 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel located, in Konawa, with Rev. Mitch Williams officiating.
John Weick
Wewoka resident, John Bauer Weick, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the age of 86 years, at his home.
He was born July 16, 1924, in San Francisco, Calif., to Blanche Bauer Weick and Henry Bernard Weick. He was a graduate of San Francisco High School and served in World War II. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as a carrier and moved to Oklahoma to be with his granddaughter, Stacy Aldridge. He loved gardening, boating, fishing, and the outdoors.
Preceding John in death were his parents; son, Bernard John Weick; and grandson, Jason Henry Martin.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Gillespie, of DeQueen, Ala.; six grandchildren, Jessica Hockersmit, Stacy Aldridge, Glenn Kennedy, Brian Kennedy, Ashley Weick, and Kayla Davis; one sister, Eloise Whatley, of Mountain View, Calif.; several great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and host of other relatives and friends.

Wesley, age 28 years passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Oklahoma City, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born May 28, 1981 in Wewoka to Wanda Ann Sewell and Paul James Hulbutta.
Wesley attended Wewoka Public Schools and Indian Assembly of God Church in Shawnee.
She loved to be a volunteer with her children activities.
On February 14, 2010 she married Daniel Wesley in Shawnee.
Wesley was preceded in death by one brother Frank Hulbutta, two nieces Alisha Lopez and Aeriel Lopez, and her grandparents.
Survivors include : her husband Daniel Wesley of the home: sons, Daniel Wesley Jr., Devin Wesley, and Derrick Wesley all of the home; parents, mother Wanda Ann Sewell, Wewoka, father Paul Hulbutta and wife Elaine of Wewoka, brothers Randy Hulbutta, of Wewoka, Chris Hulbutta of Clewiston, Fla., Russell Hulbutta of Hominy; Sisters Veronica Lopez of Shawnee; Crystal Ortiz of Shawnee; Melissa Hulbutta of Wewoka, and Christina Hulbutta of Wewoka, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She is also survived by step brothers and sisters Chris Samuel, Fabian Semuel, Stacey Samuel, Kelley Samuel, and Dion Samuel.
Yvonne West
Yvonne West, 74 year-old, longtime Seminole resident passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010, in Seminole, Oklahoma.
She was born in 1935, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Jimmy and Marie Applewhite. Yvonne married Crawford M. West on December 5, 1955, in Ada, Oklahoma; they recently celebrated their 54th year of marriage.
Yvonne was a gourmet cook and loved to prepared meals for her sons and their friends. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, camping, water skiing and traveling with Crawford in their motor home with their friends.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Crawford M. West, of the home; two son’s, Land Bradford West, of Norman, and James Crawford West, of Seminole.
Private family services are scheduled for a later date.
Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, in Seminole, Oklahoma.
Minnie Westmoreland
Longtime Seminole resident Minnie Hendricks –Westmoreland died on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Seminole at the age of 85.
She was born on August 18, 1924 to Floyd and Molly (Turner) Jones in Arkansas.
She retired from Big Yank where she worked for 33 years as a supervisor. She traveled, with her family, gardened, worked in the yard, and sewed until her eyesight failed.
She married Loyd Westmoreland in June of 1996, he survives her of the home, she also leaves to cherish her memories her son, Jimmy Hendricks of Shawnee and two daughters, Wanda Hendricks and Judy Carter both of Seminole, four brothers, Jerry Hall of Broken Arrow, Gary Hall of Tahlequah, Charles Jones and Thomas Jones both of Texas, two sisters, Lorene Thornton and Della Hicks both of Tahlequah.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was also very fond of all of Loyd’s Children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Molly Jones, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Stewart. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma.
Peggy Wetherington
Peggy Paul Wetherington, 75, of Hot Springs, Arkansas died August 4, 2010. She was born October 19, 1934 at Malvern, Arkansas to the late Herschel & Mildred (Bailey) Paul.
She was a graduate of Malvern High School and Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was a member of Oaklawn United Methodist Church in Hot Springs.
She was predeceased by her son, James Paul Wetherington and granddaughter Kelsey Kidd.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James L. Wetherington, and daughters Leah Mathews (and husband Dale) of Jakarta, Indonesia, Ella Kidd (and Bob Hough) of Dallas, Texas, and Jennifer Kay (and husband Bill) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and seven grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Oaklawn United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Hunter officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice, or to Oaklawn UMC, or Hot Spring County Historical Museum in Malvern.
She wanted it known that she loved the Lord.
