Wilma Francis Ramsey

Ramsey, Wilma (Hiersche), 92, of Bethany, OK was born May 3, 1910 in Shawnee, OK to Louis and Corn (Pine) Hiersche. She passed away on Jan. 17, 2003. She graduated from Geary High School and on December 21, 1929 married Dennis Ramsey. She was a member of Putnam City Christian Church and was active in the Meals on Wheels program in the church. She retired from TG&Y; in 1975 after many years of service. Her first job was with R. A. Young Variety Stores, Geary, OK (co-founder of TG&Y;). She enjoyed quilting, traveling and church activities with her many friends. She was preceded in death by Dennis Ramsey, her husband of 36 years, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Chapin, Mustang, OK and Euna Martin, Mesa, AZ; sons, Allan Ramsey & wife Donna, OKC, and Wayne Ramsey & wife Gay, Yukon, OK; grandsons, Kevin Ramsey & wife Mary, Piedmont, OK, Dennis Ramsey, Dallas, TX, and Douglas Ramsey of Moore, OK; and great-grandson, Jackson Ramsey. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., January 20, at Putnam City Christian Church, with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Joyce Evonne Neuenschwander

Neuenschwander, Evonne J., was born in Canute, OK on Jan. 7, 1932 to the Rev. and Mrs. Evert Striegel. She married Dwight Neuenschwander on May 28, 1950 and was blessed with three children: Ed, Charles, who died in infancy, and Nancy. She passed to her eternal reward on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Dwight; two children, Ed and Nancy; nine grandchildren: Charles and Steven, sons of Ed and Rhonda, of Piedmont, OK; Mandy, Josh, Heather, Kyle, Hannah, Alex and Aaron, children of Nancy and Mike Howie of Bradleyville, MO and one great-grandson, Matthew, son of Mandy and Simon Hupp of Bradleyville. Evonne is also survived by a niece, Peggy Ward of Norman, OK, two nephews, Jim Music of Cushing, OK and Mike Striegel of Guthrie, OK and a host of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and gave her life to her calling, Music. She taught piano for many years and founded the department of music at Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs. Evonne authored the piano pedagogy three-volume series, Creative Hymn Playing. She traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada and various world areas: Australia, New Zealand, Samoa and the Caribbean, conducting Creative Hymn Playing piano seminars. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends. Viewing will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, Bethany, OK on Monday with family visitation from 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Bethany, OK at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003 with interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, OK.

Elisabeth Pearl Coats

Elisabeth Pearl (Bates) Dennard Coats
1912 - 2003

Elisabeth Pearl (Bates) Dennard Coats went to be with her Lord Friday, January 17, 2003, at Deaconess Hospital following a brief illness. She was born May 1, 1912 at Eddy, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J. L. Bates and Rev. Christina Bates; her sisters Mary (Bates) Woods and Rebecca (Bates) Cantrell; two baby daughters, Mary Ann Dennard and Johnnie Dennard; her first husband, Rev. A. L. Dennard; a son-in-law, John Wilkerson; her second husband, Clint Coats; and a stepson, Harold Coats.
Surviving Pearl are her children, Pearl Naomia Wilkerson and Alvin Louis, Jr. and Lou Dennard; six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Ronny Rogers, Ed and LaDonna Wilkerson, and Mary and Jackie Rolf; Alan and Carman Dennard, Mike and Rene' Dennard, and Lynne and Glen Simpson; fourteen great grandchildren, Dan and Tricia Rogers, Ronna and Brandon McCubbin; Abe and Krista Wilkerson, Zac and Courtney Wilkerson, and Caleb Wilkerson; Billy Joe and Susan Phelps, and Charles Phelps; Stephanie and Wade Stephens, Alex and Garrett Dennard, Ashley and Mitchell Dennard, and Katelyn and Addison Simpson; nine great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Pearl are two step daughters, Lorraine Melton, Shirley Small; several step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pearl gave her heart and her life to Christ at an early age. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene and an asset to her husband, Rev. A. L. Dennard; together they pastored six churches on the Northwest and Southwest Oklahoma Districts including Helena, Clinton, Tuttle, Ponca City, Weatherford, and Ryan. Pearl used her strength, talents and desires to serve her Lord. She served in many capacities including Sunday School teacher, Missionary Chapter president, and song leader. She was an accomplished musician, and she frequently provided special music with the accordion and vocal music. She moved to Bethany in 1959 and has been a member of Bethany First Nazarene Church for 44 years.

Pearl retired from T. G. & Y. Stores Company in 1976, after 20 years of service. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed traveling, fishing, crocheting and knitting. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Honoring Pearl as her pallbearers are her grandsons, Ed Wilkerson, Alan Dennard, Mike Dennard, Ronny Rogers, Glen Simpson, and Jackie Rolf. Honorary pallbearers are Pearl's great grandsons.

Christy Joe Peterson

Christy Joe Peterson, age 55, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Wednesday, January 8, 2003, at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. He Served in the Unknown.

He was the son of Joseph Peterson and Juanita (Lawson) Peterson.

He is also survived by his One Daughter, Daughter-Amie Conn of Oklahoma City, Okla. One grandchild

Arrangements are being handled by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Okla.Interment will be at Pilgrim`s Rest Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Melvin Ernest Thee

Melvin Ernest Thee, II, 50, was born Sept. 19, 1952 in Okla. City, OK to Melvin E. And Marie (Griffin) Thee-Elliott. He passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002. `Mel` was a 32-year veteran of the OKC Police Force. He graduated with an Associates Degree in Police Science from OSU/OKC and joined the OKC Police Force in January, 1970. He was a member of Eagle Mountain Ministries, the F.O.P., Fellowship of Christian Law Enforcement, I.A.B.T.I., Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America, P.A.L., D.A.R.E., and C.H.A.P.P.S. He is survived by his wife, Sharleston; sons, Trey, Josh, and Justin Thee; his mother, Marie Thee-Elliott, of Bethany, OK; sisters, Alice Marie Thee-Haney & husband Coy Dee, Weatherford, OK, Ann Thee-Baker & husband Warren, Yorktown, VA, and Sue Thee-Hooker & husband Tommy, Guthrie, OK; step-sons, Nicholas Bashop, Sean Tillery, and Andrew Rycroft-Tillery; and 2 nieces & 2 nephews. Services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Nov. 22, at Victory Christian Center, N. W. 42nd & MacArthur, with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Robert L Lippert

Robert L. (Bob) Lippert, Christian husband, father, contractor, died November 10, 2002 in Oklahoma City. Born January 6, 1925 to Erick and Florence Lippert in Boone, Iowa. He married his beloved, late wife of 49 years, Naomi Hansel, on October 14, 1950. In WW II Bob served in the Navy. On return, he earned a B.A. in Business Administration from O.C.U., forming lifelong friendships through Lambda Chi Alpha.
Bob worked with his father and brother, Donald E. Lippert, at the family owned business of Lippert Bros., Inc. As Vice President he helped shape some of our state’s greatest landmarks, including the Crystal Bridge and phase one of the Cowboy Hall of Fame. He enjoyed serving as President of the Associated General Contractors and made many wonderful friends in the construction industry.
Messiah Lutheran Church was a powerful source of love and joy for 47 years. Bob and Naomi helped their Christian brothers and sisters form a new church, where they consistently heard the message of the free gift of salvation and experienced God’s love through their beloved fellow members. Bob also loved serving on the Camp Lutherhoma and Oklahoma District LCMS boards for several years.
Bob, a faithful husband and father believed in family traditions: egg sandwiches on bowling night, celebrating events with the church pinochle group, and nicknames for all family members. His trademarks: firm handshakes, good eye contact, respect, hugs, warm smiles, leadership and genuine love.
How do we begin to honor such a loving, generous but humble man? We take our cue from Daddy, “Thank You, God!” Give Mom a kiss for us, Daddy! We will be with you BOTH again in Paradise!

Visitation at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany will take place on Tuesday from 7:00-8:30pm. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, 10:00am at Messiah Lutheran Church on Portland and N.W. Expressway. A private burial will follow later in the day.

Eugene Simons

Simons, Eugene, was born June 26, 1930 in Foss, OK and died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002 after a short illness and surrounded by his loving family. Eugene`s career was farming and farming related business. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dolores; sons, Bill & wife Melodee, Bob & wife Julie, and Mike & wife Benelei; daughter, Carlene & husband Gerrell; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, Imogene, Fern, Sue, Elaine and Faye; and 1 brother, Leon. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, William & Della Dane Simons; sister, Kaye; and 1 great-granddaughter. Wake services will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany at 7:00 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 18. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thurs., Sept. 19, at St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Thomas Russell Harris

Thomas Russell Harris `Tom`, 54, born 10/31/1948 in Oklahoma City, died 5/25/2003. Tom graduated from Putnam City High in 1966. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Jaycees and the USSSA. Tom is survived by his Aunt Lena Alice Propps, Uncle Robert Paul Harris and numerous cousins. He is preceded by his mother Opal Lucille and father William Alfred Harris. Tom will be truly missed by his special friends, the Houghts. Graveside service, Bethany Cemetery, 2:30pm Friday.

Mary Ann Supanich

Supanich, Mary A., 90, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 21, 1912 to Louis D. & Helen Stanich in Croatia, Yugoslavia.

At age 15, Mary traveled to the USA with her family where she made her home in the Bisbee & Oracle area of Arizona. She worked as a talented seamstress. Mary loved reading and was a faithful member of St. Patrick`s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Supanich and brothers, Stanley, Joseph and Louis Stanich.

She is survived by her sister-in law, Florence Stanich of Oklahoma City and by her nieces & nephews: Scott & Julie Westin, Yukon, OK, Wayne & Viki Vogt, Wilburton, OK, Jim & Erin Stanich, Marlboro, NY, Stanley & Diana Stanich, Cleveland, TN, Mikel & Tea Stanich, Longmont, CO, Helen & Hugh Lamping, Ontario, Canada, Joann & Peter Gidlund, Golden, CO, and Karla Bailey, Tuscon, AZ.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2003, at St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.

Argyle Wayne Stair

Argyle Wayne Stair, born December 19, 1922, Yukon, Oklahoma went home to be with the Lord May 22, 2003.

He retired from Tinker AFB in electronics and armament. Prior to that he served in the US Navy and US Air Force. He was a charter member and served in leadership at Memorial Christian Church.

He is survived by wife Dixie with whom he shared a love which supported them for 56 years over the highs and lows of their life together. His daughter Sharon of VA preceded him in death. He is survived by his son`s Michael and wife Jean of Moore, Ronald and wife Ronna of Missouri, and Steven of Oklahoma City. Wayne enjoyed his nine grand-children Cynthia, Lisa, Amy, David, Ashely, Amanda, Jared, Chelsea and Lacie; and his great grand-children Joseph and William.

His family and friends will always remember his sense of humor and his ability to see and share his positive view of life.

A celebration of Wayne`s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 26 at Mercer Adams Funeral Home, Bethany. Friends are welcome for visitation on Sat. 8AM-9PM, Sun. 12PM-9PM, Mon. 3PM-5PM. Memorial donations may be made to Memorial Christian Church, 1915 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, OK 73107.

Alicia Dawn Lynch

Alicia Dawn Lynch, age 29, took wings to heaven May 19, 2003, ending her lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. She was born March 3, 1974, and graduated from Putnam City West in 1992, and attended Southwestern State University and Oklahoma State. She was a reserve deputy sheriff for the Creek County sheriff`s department. Alicia`s bubbly personality was an inspiration to all who know her. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and zest for living.

She is survived by her parents, Clay and Dorthy Lynch and sister, Dr. Heather Lynch, and many loving friends and realtives.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2003 at St. Mark`s United Methodist Church, 8240 N.W. 36th Street, Bethany, with interment following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8801 Northwest Expressway.

H William McAboy

McAboy, H. William `Bill`, 74, Okla. City, died May 19, 2003 at Mercy Hospital. He graduated from St. Gregory`s High School, Shawnee, and received a Bachelor of Arts from Okla. City University. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He served on the OKC Planning Commission, was President & Owner of Advance Interiors, Inc., a member of the Sportsman`s Club, Knights of Columbus, a Charter member of Compassionate Friends, and a Boy Scout Leader. He was married to Patricia Terrell on August 7, 1950. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Ellen Sherwood and his parents, Herbert & Marie McAboy, Okla. City.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; son, Patrick & wife Vickie, Yukon; son, Thomas & wife Nancy, Durant, OK, and son, John & wife Jennifer, Shawnee, OK; daughter, Suzanne & husband Scott Goforth, Okla. City; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; mother-in-law, Mary C. Terrell; brothers-in-law: Dick Terrell & wife Teresa, Ed Terrell & wife Gladys, Roy Terrell & wife Wendy; and many nieces & nephews.

Wake service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany. Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Clark Jerome Anderson

Clark Jerome Anderson, 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 surrounded by his loving family. “CJ” was a beloved husband, devoted father, treasured granddad and loyal friend. He was born in Miami, OK on March 3, 1920 to Charles Harrison and Anna Maude Anderson. A US Army veteran of WWII, CJ spent many years in the insurance business as an award-winning salesman. He then became a highly regarded member of the oilfield community in OKC. In his retirement, he worked in the mailroom at Oklahoma City University as the campus “Postmaster General.” He was a long-time member of Putnam City Baptist Church.

His parents and three brothers, Clay, Claude and Paul preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen; sons Larry and wife Sharon and Steve and wife Christy; daughter Pam and husband Jim Morgan; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, all of the OKC area; four very special nieces in Tulsa and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Integrated Specialty Hospital in Edmond for their loving, dedicated and professional care.
CJ’s gruff exterior, quick wit and engaging charm will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Thoughts of him will always bring funny stories to mind and fond memories to heart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2003 at Putnam City Baptist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park under the direction of Mercer-Adams Funeral Home.

Dorothy Louise Nelson

Dorothy L. Nelson, age 83, of Oklahoma City, went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2003. She was born July 17, 1919 in Ada, Oklahoma to Will H. and Ora (Horton) Loving. Dorothy married Louis H. Cook on September 19, 1936, who preceded her in death after 29 years of marriage. She was always very proud of the 14 years (1953 to 1967) she worked as an interior decorator for Sears. On July 29, 1967, Dorothy was blessed with her marriage to Lawrence A. Nelson. Through the years she enjoyed fishing, playing golf, shopping, traveling, and gardening. She was a charter member of Council Road Baptist Church and a longtime member of Northwest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Maxie Loving Morrison.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence; daughter, Carolyn Owens & husband Charles; daughter, Sherry Wallace & husband George; daughter, Virginia Brown; son, Doug Nelson & wife Peggy; son, Joe Bob Nelson & wife Nicona; sister, Maedell Henninger & husband Leslie; 13 grandchildren: Shelley, Carrie, Mona, Dana, Debbie, Michele, Renee, Kim, Kelly, Stacey, Coby, Hannah, and John; 13 great-grandchildren - Erin, Aleea, Michael, Taylor, Grant, Shannon, Hall, Greyson, T. C., Nicole, and Ashlee; and 1 great-great grandchild, Kayli; and many nieces & nephews who lovingly called her `Aunt Dot` or `Auntie`.

Dorothy`s love for the Lord and her family was an example and source of strength for all who knew and loved her. She was full of life and brought joy and fun into living. We will miss her more than words can say, but we shall see her again! Praise the Lord!.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Northwest Baptist Church, followed by interment at Spring Creek Cemetery.
