Keith A (Tony) Fritsch, age 39, of Bethany, Oklahoma, died suddenly on October 11, 2003. He was born
to Keith D. and Rita Fritsch on December 2, 1963, at Amarillo, Texas. He moved to Bethany at the age of 7, and spent the rest of his life there. He graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1982. He worked at Quik Print for several years, and most recently worked for Digi Print for the last several months. He is dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Keith Fritsch, and his parental grandparents, Harvey and Leona Fritsch, and maternal grandmother, Edith Russell. Tony is survived by his children, Ashley Reeves, age 20, and Corey Fritsch, age 15. Also surviving are his mother, Rita Fritsch-West and her husband, Bill West of Yukon, his sister, Kathy Fritsch of Oklahoma City, his Uncles and Aunts Bob and Lanna Hatton of Amarillo, Texas, David and Stephanie Fritsch of Mesquite, Texas, and Rick and Marilyn Lawhon of Amarillo, Texas, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. on Wed., Oct. 15, with burial in Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to American Heart Association.
J. D. Giddens
J.D. Giddens, 82, passed peacefully on October 12, 2003, at his Oklahoma City home. J,D., a long time educator, was born on January 18, 1921, in California but raised in Oilton by his father and mother, T.J. and Lydia Giddens, who both preceded him in death. The youngest of five, J.D. was also preceded in death by his brother, Walter, and sisters, Faye Boston and Ruby Hancock.
J.D. was a self made man, having left Oilton High School, the family farm and a six year newspaper route in 1939 to attend and play basketball at Central State College in Edmond. J.D., like so many of this country`s heroes of the time, put school on hold to serve his country. J.D, joined the United States Navy and was aboard ship in the Atlantic and South Pacific campaigns throughout World War II. Upon his return, J.D. was graduated from Central State College and obtained a masters degree in education from Oklahoma State University. After coaching Marland to a girls` state basketball championship in 1950, J.D, passed his whistle to others and served as superintendent of the Marland, Morrison and Wakita public schools for a total of 18 years. J.D. moved on to the Oklahoma State Department of Education and served in various capacities, including Assistant State Superintendent-Instruction Division and State Director, North Central Accrediting Association, before retiring in 1986. J.D. was always an active member of the Putnam City Baptist Church. J.D. touched many lives in his professional career but his wife and family were and remained his primary focus.
J.D. is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Iris Darlene (Phillips) Giddens of the home, his two sons, Dr. Jimmy D. and Brigid Giddens of Tulsa, Jared D. and Aleta Giddens of Norman, and his sister, Marie and Rolla Mikeman of Cushing. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Giddens and his wife Suzanne of Jenks, Elizabeth Giddens and her husband Jeff Govek of Dallas, TX, Kathryn Carmichael and her husband Colin of Denton, TX, Jason Giddens of Tulsa, Jennifer Giddens of Tulsa, Madison Giddens of Norman and Julie Giddens of Tulsa; two great grandchildren, Jonathan and Justin Giddens of Jenks; three step grandchildren, Dwayne Huddleston and his wife Denay of Stillwater, Amy Huddleston of Norman and Sarah Huddleston of Hutchinson, KS and many important and cherished family members.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2003, at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, OKC, with interment immediately following in the Rose Hill Burial Park, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the PCBC Building Fund, 11401 N. Rockwell, OKC, 73162.
Ruth S. Lowry
Ruth S.Lowry, a native of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania and long-time resident of Oklahoma City, passed away October 12, 2003. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack. Ruth was Past President of the Echo Club at the Elks Lodge, Past President and current officer of the DOES #259, and served on the Human Rights Committee at A.I.D. Group Homes.
Survivors include her niece, `Mim` Miranda of Florida, and Barbara Burton of Kentucky; sister, Caroline Means of Pennsylvania, and numerous other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Putnam City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
Viewing from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. on Tuesday (family will be present from 7-9 P.M.). Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Chapel, with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Geneva McPhail
McPhail, Geneva passed away on November 22, 2003 in Midwest City, OK. She was born on November 2, 1930 to Rev. W.E. & Lela (Tooley) Hall in Humboldt, Kansas. Geneva was a homemaker & member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene. She is preceded in death by her husband, Coburn McPhail. She is survived by her sons; Jeff McPhail & wife Bonnie, New Hampshire, Ron McPhail, Midwest City, OK, Steve McPhail, Midwest City, OK; daughters, Kathy Moeller & husband Steve, OKC, OK, Linda Smith & husband Bill, Decatur, Arkansas, brother; Donald Hall, Portland, Oregon, sister; Fern Leewright, Carthage, Missouri and 8 grandchildren; Daniel, Josh, Sarah, Rebeccah, Amy, Matthew, Ryan & Laura. Bill Chilcutt
Bill departed this life on Nov. 22, 2003 and happily joined the Lord in heaven after the door to paradise was opened for him to enter. Born in Ada, Oklahoma on May 15, 1922. Bill graduated from Ada High School in 1940. Served in Army Air Force for four years in World War II. Worked for several oil field supply companies and on April 7, 1956 became a traveling salesman for General Electric. He retired in May 1984. Preceded in death by parents, two brothers, Gene and Wat and sister Myree Jackson. Survived by wife Edith and brother-in-law Paul Ryan & wife Margaret. He married his wife Edith Ruth Ryan on October 5, 1944. He happily followed marriage vows, worshiped, loved, honored, and obeyed and he teased her by saying the preacher forgot the word adore, so he added this and lived up to this also. They were not blessed with children; survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was asked and honored to give away in marriage one niece, Marsella Featherstone of Moore, Oklahoma. This was a highlight of his life teasing her, saying he would not give her away so he charged a penny. Later he framed this penny in a heart shaped frame and gave it to her; she truly treasured it. Active member of St. Mark`s Methodist Church where the kids knew him as the candy man because he gave each one a bit of candy and reveled in the warmth of their smiles. Services will be 10:00 AM, Tues., Nov. 25th at Mercer-Adams Chapel with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden.

Howard M. Arnegard, age 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at 6121 Kingston Road in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Arnegard was employed by Sory, Hill & Sory Architects.
He was the son of the late Eddie Arnegard and the late Lydia (Krogh) Arnegard.

Ladonna Jean Harris
Harris Ladonna Jean (Collett) Harris, `G.G.`, born March 1, 1945, died May 18, 2004. Attended Putnam City High School. She was a Medical Technologist and an X-Ray Technician. She was a registered member with the A.A.M.P. since 1979. She was on the board of directors for 5 years. She worked for Dr. Athena Friese & Dr. John Pittman. Before she was in the medical field, she worked 13 years at Rockwell International. She was preceded in death by her daughter, DeAnna Leigh Hyde; son, Danny Joe Hyde; son, Darryl Dickinson; parents, Clara & `Doc` Collett and sister Coleen Houlsey. She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, David Dickinson & wife Iris; grandchildren, Lucia, Natalie, Madison & Mason; stepdaughter, Jamie Stueven & husband Todd, and their children, Joshua, Jennifer & Samantha of Augusta, KS and sister Pat Wood of OKC. Also many nieces, nephews and other relatives she loved so much. Services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Mercer-Adams Chapel followed by interment at Bethany Cemetery.
James Dansby Harlan
During the Korean Conflict, Dan was called back to Navy service where he remained for 27 years, advancing to the rank of Commander. Dan and Charleen had two daughters, Colata `Jody` Harlan in 1955, and Tracee Danelle (Harlan) Symes in 1960. He served as a navigator and financial manager in squadrons, at sea and on land all over the world in dozens of critical assignments including operations manager of the USS Boxer aircraft carrier, comptroller of the naval station in Argentia, Newfoundland, Canada and director of plans and programs in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon. He earned a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. After he retired from the Navy in 1969, Dan worked for the State of Oklahoma, holding two positions at the same time, administrative assistant to the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges and Commissioner of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Following his second retirement, Dan was financial manager for Lloyd Electric, operated a tax accounting business and served as accountant/financial adviser for a daughter`s retail business, Baby`s Bargains. An active member of Putnam City United Methodist Church, he was a charter member of Governor`s Toastmasters Club and a member of the American Legion, Masons, Shriners and a group of friends, Retired Old Men Eating Out (ROMEO). Dan faced 15 years of illnesses requiring 21 hospitalizations and nine surgeries, including amputation of his right leg, with rare courage and humor. He frequently passed out his library of joke cards to his friends, family, medical doctors and strangers on the street, saying, `If I didn`t laugh, I`d have to cry.` His favorite gag involved the question, `Would you like to see a picture of my pride and joy?` before giving his audience photos of the household products Pride furniture polish and Joy dish soap. Dan died May 18, 2004. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Parks E. Harlan and favorite nephew Scott Harlan. He is survived by wife Charleen of their home in Bethany, daughter Colata `Jody` Harlan and husband Tim Wagner of Yukon and daughter Tracee Symes and husband Darrell of OKC. Grandsons Colin Wagner and Ryan Symes were his real `pride and joy,` but he will also be remembered by his brother and best friend Ross Harlan and wife Margaret of OKC, sister-in-law Genelle Harlan of Spiro; in-laws, Gib and Aulena Gibson of Lawton, James and Edna Mallory, Lea Beasley, all of Summerville, South Carolina, many nieces and nephews; and lots of friends who joined him in a good laugh.
Thomas E. Bonenberger
Bonenberger Thomas E. (Gene) Bonenberger, age 71, died May 16, 2004 at Windsor Hills Nursing Center after an extended illness. He was born November 25, 1932 in Oklahoma City. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired in 1989 from AT&T.; He was a member of St. John`s United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Norma; son, Tom, and wife, Linnea, of Yorkville, IL; daughter, Linda Palmer, and husband, Tom, of Frisco, TX; 5 grandchildren, Karen, Holly, Julie Bonenberger, Dylan and Caleb Palmer. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staffs of Windsor Hills and Preferred Hospice Care, especially Ernestine, for their loving care and attentive devotion. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 21, 2004 at Mercer-Adams with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson`s Foundation or to St. John`s United Methodist Church.
Clifford Wayne Will
Clifford Wayne Will passed away on June 21, 2004. He was born March 14, 1941 in Fort Worth, Texxas to Charles and Frieda Will. He is survived by his son Shayne Hulbert and daughter in law Sherri Hulbert of Tuttle; grandchildren Courtney, Lindsey and Jared Hulbert; daughter Mychelle Will of Oklahoma City; and his loving companion Jinnye Stroup and her children Jamey Stroup and wife Peggy, Sissi Fuhrig and Jerry Stroup; grandchildren Jinna Fuhrig, Michael Stroup, Jesika Stroup, Dillon Stroup, Trevor Fuhrig, and Jamye Stroup; great granddaughter Savanna Fuhrig, and many loving friends. He loved the outdoors and fishing. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2004 at Mercer Adams Funeral Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma.
Joe Frank Land
Joe Frank Land, born November 21, 1928 to Albert and Audrey Land, Stratford, OK, passed away June 24, 2004 after a short fight with cancer. Upon graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army attached to the medical corps in Korea. Returning to Oklahoma, he met and married Clarene Bundy of Ada, OK. Moving to OKC, he worked for Lane Wells Company and retired in 1991 from Halliburton Logging as head of the drafting dept. He is survived by his son, Joe David, & daughter-in-law Lyn, Piedmont, OK, a daughter, Dana, & son-in-law Billy Semtner, Bethany, OK; granddaughters Lindsey Semtner, Bethany, and Audrey (Semtner) and grandson-in-law Brian Sargent; great-grandson Cody Sargent; a brother, Herman Land; niece, Judy Kay Johnson, OKC; nephew, Cleo & wife Paula Land, Edmond, OK, and several other nieces & nephews. He liked to tease a niece Susan Sipes, Shawnee, about helping cut and trim trees. He also enjoyed fishing with another niece Kym Take, Seminole, at her home on Lake Eufaula. He was always willing to help anyone with anything if they asked him. He was a quiet person until you really knew him, liked to travel the back roads of the U.S. with friends from OKC, Ada & Tulsa. He was looking forward to a trip to Colorado in Sept. to celebrate a `50th` anniversary with friends from Logansport, IN. A long time member of Putnam City Baptist Church, and a great helper in the church library. Joe was proud of his 2 children choosing careers to help others, a Nichols Hills Police Officer, and one an R.N. at the VA Hospital. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27, at Spring Creek Memorial Cemetery.
Alta Alvena Price
Alta Alvena Price, was born February 27, 1927, in Deora, Colorado. Alta was the fourth of eight children born to Arthur and Reta Dockum. She accepted Christ at the age of seven and remained faithful until her `home going` on May 10, 2004. In 1946 she married Alva Herndon. To this union were born three children, Aleta, Debbie, and Verlon. Alta and Alva were involved in missionary activity in the S.W. Indian School in Glendale, Arizona from 1955-1958 where they worked with Navaho, Papago, Pima, and Hopi children in a boarding school. She was preceded in death by her five-year-old daughter, Aleta in 1953, and in 1958 by her husband Alva. Alta married Orval Price in 1960, and happily mothered his two children, Laura and Mike. She was preceded in death by Orval in 1995. Alta earned her BA degree and received her teaching certification from Bethany Nazarene College in 1965, later teaching at Bethany Grade School from 1966 - 1970. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, furniture restoration, decoupage, and water skiing. She prepared life-history photo albums for her children, and enjoyed playing the organ until recent years. Alta will always be remembered as a gracious, loving, caring person. She leaves a precious legacy to her family, Debbie Klein & Laura Moore (daughters), Verlon, Herndon & Mike Price (sons), Joe Klein &Brad; Moore (sons-in-law), Sashia & Krechen Klein, Todd & Erin Moore, and Joey Price, (grandchildren). Rosetta Riggs, Lavena Crooks, and Ardena McConnell (sisters), Virgil Riggs, Ray Crooks, and Dean McConnell (brothers-in-law); Art Dockum, Burl Dockum, and Floyd Dockum (brothers); Freda Dockum, Eleanor Dockum, and Connie Dockum (sisters-in-law-); and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends, You lived a beautiful life down here, dear Alta. We plan to meet you on the other side!
Laura Katherine Urbanek
Laura went to be with our Lord & Savior on June 18, 2004. She lost her life in a tragic car accident in Stillwater, OK. Laura was born 8/11/69 to William & Patricia Urbanek in Albuquerque, NM. She grew up in OKC & attended Putnam City H.S. She is preceded in death by her sister Tamara Henley & her father William Urbanek. She is survived by her mother Patricia Urbanek, Stillwater, OK; sisters Rene Eagleson & husband Bill, Patty Fullerton & husband Rob, OKC; brother Bill Urbanek, Stillwater, OK; brother-in-law Allen Henley, Ft. Worth, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends who loved her deeply & will always miss her. Visitation will be 3-9 pm Wed., with services at Mercer-Adams Chapel Thursday at 2 p.m., June 24, 2004, with interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
Robert Dale Salmons
Robert (Bob) D. Salmons took flight for his final destination on Wednesday May 12, 2004, landing safely in the arms of his maker. Robert`s warmth, kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. Robert cherished his family and never failed to let them know how much he loved them. Robert was born in Tulsa on Feb. 6, 1928 and moved to OKC when he was six years old. He attended Emerson Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and Central High School. He served in the Navy for four years as Quartermaster on the DD367 Lamson, DD368 Flusser, EDE 770, and DD850 John F. Kennedy. The Lamson was sunk at the Bikini Atomic Bomb Test which he observed while on the SS Mt. McKinley. After his discharge, he graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics. He was employed at the Clarence Page Airport at Cimmaron Field, then Aero Design & Engineering Company, now called Gulfstream Aviation. He retired from FAA Aeronautical Center at Will Rogers after 34 years of service. While at FAA he acquired an Airframe & Engine Mechanics License. In 1966 he designed the jet engine installation on a C123 in Alaska. Robert always had a love for flying and obtained a Private Pilots License and Glider Rating and logged many flight hours. He owned several airplanes and even helped build a few. He loved building model aircraft of all sizes. His expertise in the aircraft industry was highly respected by all his peers. Next to his family, flying was his passion. His Mother, Vivian Schmitt, stepfather, Ralph Schmitt, and sister Vivian Miller preceded him in death. Robert is survived by his wife Marlene (Marti), son Jim Salmons and wife Diane Griffin Salmons, daughter Jenny Horn-Reser, husband Scott and grandson Josh Horn, daughter Carrie Williams and husband Kenny of Jenks, grandson Daniel Williams and wife Heather of OKC and grandson Kevin Williams of OKC. A celebration of Robert`s life will be held on Monday, May 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the Council Road Baptist Church, 2900 N. Council Road, Bethany, Ok. Internment will follow at the Yukon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720 in memory of Robert D. Salmons.
Joseph Lana
Joseph Lana peacefully went to be with his Lord May 13, 2004 in Ft Worth, Texas at the home of his son, where he had resided for the past eight months with a deteriorating heart condition. Joe was born Nov. 4, 1911 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As a young boy he moved to Central Okla. where he lived most of his life. He has brothers, Bert of Abilene, Tex. and Henry of Lawrence, Kansas; sisters, Mary Cook, Lydia Wooten and Blanche Blotz all of Okla. City, Okla. Preceding him in death were his brother, Charlie and sister, Martha Yancy_. He was married to Marie Ethel Nice who preceded him in death in May of 1994. To this union were born two daughters, Josephine and Lorene (both deceased) and two sons, Paul of Ft Worth, Texas and Ronald of Phoenix, Arizona. He leaves two grand children, Brian Cook of Mont Belvieu, Texas and Erin Lana of Mission Viejo, California and one great grand daughter, Shalena Hodges of Mont Belvieu, Texas. His extended family grand children are Donna Cole, Gwynne Smith, Travis Cruzen and great grand children Justin Cole, Taylor Cole and Christopher Smith all of Ft Worth, Texas along with a great number of treasured nieces and nephews. Although Joe spent his earlier life as a farmer he became an innovative mechanic, welder and maintenance technician. In retirement he enjoyed working with wood. He spent much of his time in his backyard shop which he and Marie built themselves. He was known to have created a tool, if necessary, to build one of his projects. He thrived on creating as the need demanded. Joe was a long time member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene. During his short tenure in Texas he greatly missed his God-gifted children, Jeff, Robin, Mitchell and Marissa Summerford along with their extended family, his Sunday School class and close personal friends many of whom knew him affectionately as `Grampa Joe`. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2004 at the Calvary Church of the Nazarene with interment following at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, Oklahoma.
Raymond L. McNulty
McNulty Raymond McNulty, age 76, longtime Oklahoma City resident, died May 7, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Delma; sisters, Nola Hudson, Nora McDonald, Nota McCulley, Neoma McCann, Neta Collamore, and several nieces & nephews. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17.
Doris Remington
Remington Doris Remington, age 91, passed away in her home May 16, 2004. She was born May 19, 1912 to Isaac Craig & Amy Alice Hillis Beard in Stroud, Oklahoma. After growing up in Wichita, Kansas, where she attended business college for 2 years, she moved to Oklahoma City in 1938. She was a homemaker and charter member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Remington, in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Thyra Lombard, OKC, two sons: Don Remington & wife, Jill, OKC, & Dale Remington & wife, Peggy Sue, Ardmore, OK, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 2:00 PM, May 18, 2004 in Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, with interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
