ADA — Services for Vallie Mae Peek, 90, Ada, are 11 a.m., Friday at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Charles Murphy officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Peek died May 4, 2004, at an Ada nursing facility. She was born March 9, 1914, at Baxter, Tenn., to Vance Dow and Eliza Gertrude (Gentry) Sliger. She attended school at Pleasant Hill Schools.
She and Owen Franklin Voyles were married Jan. 4, 1934 at Ada. They were married for 21 years before he died in 1955. She later married to Robert Peek in 1977. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Ada and attended Gaar Corner Free Will Baptist Church. She was a rancher and a caregiver.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lou Voyles; her parents; three brothers, John Thurman Sliger, Ray Sliger and Roy Sliger; a sister, Velma Minor; and two grandchildren, Greg Hooser and Mike Wise.
Survivors include three daughters, Erma Jean Wells, Bobbie Sue Hooser, both of Center, and Velma Lea Raybon, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Roy D. Sliger, Lanny Sliger, Elton Sliger, Tony Minor, Bob Langley and Mickey Daniel.

KONAWA — Mass of Christian burial for Carol Faye McCraw, 60, Konawa, was 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Matthew Brown officiated and burial followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mrs. McCraw died May 2, 2004, at her home. She was born Aug. 28, 1943, at Maud to Elvon Leroy “Bud and Vineta Faye Hulsey McGuire.
She was a longtime resident of the Konawa and Sacred Heart area and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Sacred Heart Cemetery Commission, volunteer at Asher Public School and a past member of Konawa School Board.
Mrs. McCraw received a bachelor’s in elementary education from East Central University and taught school for many years. She was a bookkeeper, past owner of River Mist Convenience Store and Sooner Directional Drilling Company.
She and Robert “Jerry” McCraw were married July 11, 1963, in Ada.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vineta Faye McGuire.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry McCraw, of the home; three daughters, Carolyn Johnston, Konawa, Robbie Sanders, Konawa, and Ronda Jackson, Konawa; her father, Elvon Leroy “Bud” McGuire, Konawa; two brothers, James McGuire, Lexington, and Ronnie McGuire, Sanger, Texas; seven grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer and Jason Johnston, Julia and Lee Jackson Paige and Shelby Sanders.
Bearers were Robert Johnston, Bob Bassett, Alan Bassett, Ronnie Mitchusson, Darrell Mackey and Al Lucas.
Honorary bearers were Matthew Kuestersteffen, Scott Sanders, Bruce McCraw, Ryan McGuire, Emmitt McCraw, Glen McCraw, Dean McCraw, Jimmy McCraw, James McGuire and Ronnie McGuire.
The family asks that donations in Mrs. McCraw’s memory be made to Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Clifton Johnson.

Mrs. Tipton died May 2, 2004, at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1938, at Sulphur to Curtis W. and Dollie Mae Stevens Harvey.
She attended school at Imperial Beach, Calif., and graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas in 1956. She came to this area in July 1999 from Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Tipton attended Draughn’s Business College in Fort Worth, Texas. She was an insurance claims professional, retiring from Sedjwick Insurance, Portland, in 1999. She was also a homemaker.
She and Albert Mitchell Tipton were married March 9, 1957, at San Diego, Calif.
Survivors include her husband, Albert “Mitch” Tipton, of the home; a daughter, Lisa Tipton, Chicago, Ill.; a son, William Tipton and wife Susan, McMinnville, Ore.; her mother, Dollie Mae Harvey, Ada; two sisters, Renee Carmichael, Ada, and Jimmie Ruth Lofton, Portland; four grandchildren, Sabrina Colleen Tipton, Jerry Peterson-Tipton, Samantha Peterson-Tipton and Amy Peterson-Tipton; a special friend Cisco; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ms. Wagon died May 3, 2004, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born June 18, 1934, at Mill Creek to Watson and Francis Wisdom Carter. She attended school at Pontotoc and graduated from Pontotoc High School.
She was a housekeeper for Valley View Regional Hospital for many years and was a member of Yellow Springs United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angelia Lewis.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Wagon and wife Lori, Allen, and Watson Wagon and wife Maryanne, Connerville; two daughters, Angela Lewis and husband Clint, Sulphur, and Elaine Byars and husband Mark, Ravia; three sisters, Minnie Gipson, Stonewall, Vinola Carter and Erie Cravatt, both of Connerville; a brother, Charlie Carter, Connerville; grandchildren, Josh Wagon and Dionne Wagon, Clint Lewis Jr, Casey Wagon, Penny Lewis, Wreneema Sewell and Brandon Sewell, Sasha Wagon, Terry Byars and James Watson Byars; and four great grandchildren, Andrew, Anna, CeeJay and Corri.
