Norma McKenzie-Anderson
Norma Dale McKenzie-Anderson, 44, of Tulsa, OK. died on Thursday, June 17, 2004.
She worked as a certified nurses assistant.
She was a loving daughter, sister and mother.
She enjoyed reading, fishing, and horseback riding.
She was born on May 1, 1960 in Poteau, OK to R.B. and Louise (Armstrong) McKenzie.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at the Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. with Rev. Louie Brummett officiating.
Burial followed at the Rest Haven Cemetery in Sperry, OK.
She is survived by her mother, Louise McKenzie of Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Robi Amerson Shelby and husband Colt of Cecil; one granddaughter, Riley Dale Louise Shelby of Cecil; her finance, Luke White; three sisters, Sharon Sherrick of Montgomery, AL, Beth Thurman of Tulsa, OK and Teresa Auten of Skiatook, OK; and four brothers, Gene McKenzie of Clyde, TX, Wayne McKenzie of Tulsa, OK, Moe McKenzie of Sperry, OK and Gary McKenzie of Sperry, OK.
Pallbearers were Wayne McKenzie, Mike McKenzie, Jessie McKenzie, Brad Sherrick, David Auten and Scott Sherrick.
Honorary pallbearers were Gene McKenzie, Mal McKenzie, Gary McKenzie and Luke White.
Mildred Allen
Mildred Allen, 82, of Liberty, Okla., died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at a local nursing home.
She was a homemaker, member of Liberty Assembly of God Church and widow of Eric Allen.
Survivors include two daughters, Waiva Strain and Linda Thompson, both of Van Buren; two sons, Steve Allen of Brentwood, Texas, and Bruce Allen of Kerrville, Texas; one brother, Wayne Redden of Van Buren, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held Dec. 9 at Liberty Assembly of God Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Wes Redding, Shaen, Daron, Courtnary and Eric Allen II and Doug Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Jacobs, Rob Hatch, Freddy Rader, Jonathan Hamby, Mark Perritt and Ronnie Redden.
William Spencer
William Henry "Jack" Jackson Spencer, 85, of Tulsa, died Friday, June 14, 2002.
He worked over 15 years in the construction business.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba Grace Spencer.
Survivors include his wife, Debra; three daughters, Sharon Kay Stepp of Sapulpa, Okla., Glena Jean Spencer of Tulsa and Donna Sue Brown of Stroud, Okla.; three sons, William Lee Spencer of Sand Springs, Okla., and Jerry Don Spencer and Terry Wayne Spenser, both of Tulsa; three sisters, Annie Crabtree of Tulsa, Rosette Sutton of Collinsville, Okla., Lizzie Campbell of Van Buren; one brother, Robert Spencer of Pryor, Okla.; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Paul Puckett
Paul W. Puckett, 72, of Bixby, Okla., formerly of Rudy, Ark., died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Tulsa.
He retired from the Army after 20 years, having received the National Defense Service Medal, five Good Conduct medals, Vietnam Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, two overseas bars, two Air Medals, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Amy Commendation Medal, Bronze Star and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was a member of the Columbia, Ga., Masonic Blue Lodge No. 344 and a Shriner.
He moved to Rudy in 1981 and served the 88 Community as president and secretary of its volunteer fire department and served on the election board.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Larkin, Polly Caughron and Kathy Babbitt; two sons, Robert Puckett and David Morrison; two sisters, Jeannette and Patys; one brother, Jerry Puckett; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service with military honors was held March 8 at McCurry Cemetery near Rudy under the direction of Bixby Funeral Home.
