Byron Hight
Byron Hight, 74, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, in Fort Smith He was the former owner of Rockford Foundations in Rockford, Ill., and a builder and contractor in Alma. He was an avid gardener and bird hunter and won numerous field trial competitions.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Ellen Hight; one daughter, Angie Medlock of Mulberry; three sons, Larry Hight of Panama, Okla., Jeff Hight of Van Buren and David Hight of Sallisaw; four sisters, Sue Barger and Mary Lou Thompson, both of Sallisaw, June Dorsey of Claremore, Okla., and Louis Berg of Sacramento, Calif.; three brothers, Robert, Bennie and J.J. Hight, all of Sallisaw; and 13 grandchildren.
Graveside service was held Dec. 11 at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Pallbearers were Larry Hight, Jeff Hight, David Hight, Mike Medlock, Jared Medlock, Landon Hight and Logan Hight.
Jessie Lee Osburn
Jessie Lee Osburn, 91, of Moffett, Oklahoma passed away January 3, 2005 in Roland, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, and of Pentecostal Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Rufus Edward Osburn.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2005 at The U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She is survived one daughter Jackie Woodard of Roland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Kathy Luper, Kelly Bordelon, and Sandy Piersant; five great grandchildren: Jessica Vaughan, Brandon Luper, Whitney Hooks, Megan Perkins, and Josh Perkins; two sisters: Alice Howard of Moffett, Oklahoma and Dossie Howard of Moffett, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Turner, Donnie Woodard, Chad Bordelon, Brandon Luper, Charles Miller and Paul Hodgens.
Family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
Henry Curl
Henry Bradley Curl, 62, of Muldrow, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002. He was a school bus driver and mechanic and a member of Moffett Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alma; three daughters, Rebecca Smith of Cedarville and Sandy Curl and Shelly Curl, both of Muldrow; three grandchildren, Kendall Landers, Kristie Turner and Nick Smith; his mother, Eunice Curl of Muldrow; two sisters, Judy Neal of Muldrow and Meta Russell of Lake Tenkiller, Okla., and one brother, Ricky Curl of Muldrow.
Graveside service was held Feb. 22 at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Agent Cemetery of Sallisaw.
Charles McDade
Charles Wesley McDade, 50, of Muldrow, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002. He was a veteran of Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Ivory; a daughter, Anlicia McDade of Muldrow; a son, Tyron McDade of Fort Smith; a sister, Kathryn McDade of Austin, Texas; a foster sister, Elma W. Howard of Fort Smith; a foster brother, Don Perkins of Muskogee, Okla.; and a grandchild.
Graveside service was held Aug. 26 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.
Mary Brasuell
Mary E. Brasuell, 95, of Sallisaw, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, in Sallisaw. She was a homemaker, a lifelong member of the Baptist Church and the widow of Joe Brasuell.
She is survived by two daughters, Sula Brasuell of La Habra, Calif., and Mary Lou Miller of Tahoe, Calif.; a son, Rodney Brasuell of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held Dec. 12 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam.
Pallbearers were Ron and Dale Brasuell, Mike Brown and Chris Werner.
Floyd Self
Floyd E. Self, 50, of Sallisaw, died January 6, 2005 in Sallisaw. He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard and was a Volunteer for the Mental Health Community Center in Sallisaw.
He is survived by his wife Bertha of the Home, one sister Isabelle Belcher of Roland, three brothers, Frank Fain of Dora, AR; Jerry Self of Sallisaw, and Wesley Self of Roland along with many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the Roland City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Self, Ray Graves, Billy Johnson, Jim Fain, Darrell Miller, and Arlis Casey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shone Fain, Ray Plant, and Dwayne Garner.
Jessica Lynn Vaughan
Jessica Lynn Vaughan, 21, of Muldrow, Oklahoma passed away January 19, 2005 in Fort Smith. She was employed at Choctaw Gaming Center in Pocola, Oklahoma.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Roland Church of Christ with burial at Roland City Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Hardbarger; mother and step-father: Sandi and Carl Piersant of Howe, Oklahoma; Father: James Robert Vaughan of Muldrow, Oklahoma; one sister: Megan Perkins of Howe, Oklahoma; one brother: Joshua Perkins of Howe, Oklahoma; Maternal Grandparents: Donnie and Jackie Woodard of Roland, Oklahoma; Aunts and Uncles; Kathy Luper and Jimmy Turner of Moffett, Oklahoma; Kelly and Chad Bordelon of Roland, Oklahoma; Gary Vaughan; Bridget and Glen Stephens of Louisiana; Timothy Bauer of Louisiana; Step-grandmother: Mary Magon of Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be Jamie McMillan, Scotty Nofire, Milton Perkins, David Bacon, Will Stiz, John Vincey, Carl Piersant, Sr., and Richard Piersant.
Family will visit with friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
