Nila Allene Dufford
(January 23, 1917 - October 2, 2011)
Nila A. Dufford, long-time Sapulpa resident, died Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the age of 94 years old.
She was born January 23, 1917 to Lee and Jennie Ford, raised in Sapulpa and upon graduation from Sapulpa High School, married Donald Lloyd Dufford, her husband of 60 years.
She was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons: Donald Dufford, Jr. and wife Carol of Broken Arrow, Edward Dufford and wife Donna of Rolling Meadows, IL; two daughters: Sandra Wells and husband Carl, and Nancy Payne and husband H.L., all of Sapulpa.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Nila have been set for Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Vernon Howard officiating.
Burial will be in South Heights Cemetery. Casket bearers will be David Widdoes, Troy Dufford, John Dufford, Russell Wells, Jimmy Bradfield, and Andy Gorham.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
Anna Julia Ballard
(July 30, 1914 - October 2, 2011)
Anna Julia Ballard, 97, died peacefully at her Sapulpa home on Sunday, October 2,2011.
Anna was born on July, 30 1914 in McCloud, Ok.
She was preceded in death by her husband R.C. Ballard: her parents, Joe and Gertrude Clark: and one brother, Allen Clark.
She is survived by her three sons, Ken Ballard and wife Pat of Victoria TX, Robert Ballard and wife Charlotte of Del Rio, TX, Joe "Rusty” Ballard and wife Twana of Sapulpa.
Five daughters, Jean Lewis and husband Bert of Barnsdall, Phyllis Nanny of Sapulpa, Dee Brooner and husband Clyde, of Sapulpa, Janice Burgess and husband Denny of Terlton, Nelda Douglas and husband, Ken of Sapulpa.
Survived by two sisters: Mamie Copeland of Tulsa and Ella Mae Myers of Alexandria, Louisiana, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Bilby a long time friend of the family officiating.
Bearers will be grandchildren, Troy Ballard, Joe Robert Ballard, Tiffany Ballard, Julie Rhoades, Angela Frew, Carrie Burgess, Holly Caceres, Doranna Gates, Darci Earls, Robin Earls Bruton, Stacy Strickland, and Paige Ann Newman.
Honorary bearers will be 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Burial will be at Kellyville Cemetery in Kellyville, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Allen Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund. 7001 Highway 97, Sapulpa, Ok. 74066.

Mary Pauline Doty
(February 16, 1929 - October 3, 2011)
Pauline Doty, 82 of Mounds passed away on Monday, October 03, 2011 at St. John Medical Center, Sapulpa, OK.
She was born on February, 16, 1929 in Sapulpa, OK.
She was a Baptist by faith.
She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Doty of Fritch, TX., and Gary Doty and wife Pam of Mounds, OK.; grandchildren, Sonny and Angel; sister, Maxine Bradley; and nephew, Larry Ryker and wife Joy.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Hill Mausoleum Chapel.
Officiating the Reverend Chris Gore.
Interment Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Glenn Albert McGuire

Glenn (Bub) McGuire June 10, 1928 - September 13, 2011 Glenn (Bub) McGuire, age 83, a resident of Montrose., Colorado, and former resident of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, peacefully took the Lord's hand when He called on Tuesday morning, Sept. 13,2011 at his home.
He was born on June 10th, 1928, one of eleven children to Ace and Lydia McGuire in Bristow, Oklahoma.
He lived most of his live in Creek County Oklahoma.
He married Darlene Norton. July 7, 1949 in Tucson, Arizona and was married for 62 years.
Glenn and Darlene's lives were centered on faithful church attendance and their rich love for Jesus.
Glenn loved playing his guitar in church for many years.
Glenn retired from American Airlines in 1993, after 25 plus years of service.
Glenn loved family and friend get-togethers, Glenn will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Surviving family members include his beloved wife, Darlene, of the family home in Montrose; three children. Glen (Carol) McGuire of Midland, TX, Janet (Jeff) Foster of Montrose. CO, Russell (Cheryl) McGuire of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Carl, Edgar, Everett, Paul, J.L., Clyde and Tommy McGuire; sister, Lorene White; eight grandchildren, Jeanna Lichtenberg, Renee Dale, Aaron, Casey, Alan. Nick, Josh, and Jared McGuire; 13 great-grandchildren aad many nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Freida Duke, brother, Troy McGuire and 1 grandchild, David McGuire.
In memory of Glenn, charitable donations may be made to the "Dolphin House Child Advocacy Center" 735 S 1st St., Montrose, CO 81401.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa, OK.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 19,2011 at 2:00 pm at New Springs Family Church, 2907 W 108th Place S,(on South 75 Hwy) Jenks, OK. Place of

David Leroy Stevens
(June 27, 1962 - August 19, 2011)
David Leroy Stevens, age 49 was born on June 27, 1962 and passed away at his home with his family on Friday, August 19, 2011.
He was born at Osteopathic Hospital in Tulsa, OK.
He spent most of his life in Kiefer, OK.
David worked many years as a floor hand in the oilfield.
He has spent the last 15 years as a loader operator working on the Arkansas River.
He was preceded in death by his son, William Bell; his father, Francis Stevens; and granddaughter, Jaeden Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Denisea Stevens; sons, Jeremiah Stevens and his wife Jaime Stevens, and Daniel Abrams; daughters, Lacey Stevens and Sarah Burgess; mother, Martha Cooper; brothers, Lonnie Stevens, Everett Stevens and wife Marleen Stevens, Darrell Stevens and John Cooper and wife Rachel Cooper; sisters, Angela Baker and husband Joe and Darleen Loghry and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Brooklen Stevens, Bryar Stevens, Kaeley Stevens and Kaegan Stevens; and a great number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
He had a passion for looking for arrowheads, fishing with his son, dirt track racing with sons and listening to music with his daughters and grandchildren.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, OK.
Officiating will be the Reverend Randy Green.
Bearers will be Daniel Abrams, Matthew Stevens, Ted Graves, Timmy Stevens, John Cooper and Darrell Stevens, Jr.
Honorary bearer will be Everett Stevens.
Interment to follow at South Heights Cemetery.

Bertha Madeline Williams
(September 4, 1921 - September 5, 2011)
Bertha Madeline Brumley Williams was known as the "World's Greatest Mother" to her three children; as Grandma Bubba, Memaw, and Ma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and as a kind, gentle, beautiful, intelligent lady to all who met her.
She celebrated her 90th birthday Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, and she continued the celebration in heaven on Sept. 5, 2011.
Her life and her legacy will be celebrated during a visitation tonight, Sept. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel and during a memorial service Thursday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Linden Street Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, with Jeff Jordan officiating.
Bearers will be Brad Stansbury, Justyn Williams, Spencer Mayberry, Jacob Stansbury, Blake Stansbury, Robby Williams, Mark Reed, and Jeff Olendorff.
Honorary bearers will be Cortis Dillman, Aaron Whitworth, and Dr. Don Johnson.
Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens. She was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Sapulpa to Shep E. and Mollie Hazelwood Brumley.
After her father's tragic death in 1923, the family re-located to Kellyville where a young Bertha excelled academically and athletically.
She was a stand-out basketball player and captain of the basketball team.
She treasured her relationships and memories of Kellyville and loved to tell stories of her childhood.
After graduation, she moved back to Sapulpa and worked locally. It was through work at Bartlett Collins that she met her future husband, Joesph E. Williams of Beggs.
The two married on Sept. 15, 1943, in Sapulpa.
Together they shared three children, Mary Jo, Darrell, and Mendy.
Joe preceded her in death in 1964, leaving her to finish raising their children.
She was beloved not only to her children, grandchildren, and great¬-grandchildren, but also to all their friends.
Everyone loves their own mother, but not everyone has a mother who is loved by everyone.
Bertha was that mother. She was the one who hosted the slumber parties, who made the fabulous breakfasts, and who always had the time to listen.
Faith and family were the two most important things in her life and she shared that legacy with her children, teaching them that those two values were what truly made a person rich.
Her other great love was sports, especially anything OU.
She loved football, basketball, and baseball and she counted former OU Coach Kelvin Sampson as a friend.
She had the opportunity to meet Coach Sampson and for years after that meeting she enjoyed a correspondence with him.
Besides OU, she also was a fan of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane and the Atlanta Braves.
Sports fans were always amazed at her knowledge and her ability to recall players' names and statistics.
She was one of the first Blue Bird leaders in Sapulpa, a charter member of Linden Street Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a wonderful cook and her family always enjoyed her delicious meals, especially her pies, cookies, potato salad, fried chicken, and hand-cut fries.
She worked for John Sledge at Sledge Studio for many years and later worked as a floral designer for her daughter, Mary Jo Stansbury, at The Flower Shop.
After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her sister, Mary.
Bertha is survived by her children, Mrs. Larry (Mary Jo) Stansbury, Darrell Williams, and Mrs. Kent (Mendy) Mayberry; six grandchildren, Brad Stansbury, Brandi Stansbury Reed, Justyn Williams, Tara Williams Olendorff, Spencer Mayberry, and Natalie Mayberry; 11 great-grandchildren, Lauren Stansbury, Jacob Stansbury, Kelci Stansbury, Mollie Stansbury, Blake Stansbury, Madeline Reed, Emily Reed, Demi Williams, Robby Williams, Kennedy Olendorff, and Hadley Olendorff; her beloved dog, Lucy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Bart Stansbury; her sisters, Mary Ockerman, Goldie Allen, and Pearl Dodson; and her brother, Carl Brumley.
Her family would like to thank the many people who helped care for her including the staff at Grace Living Center, Jenks, Southcrest Hospital, and St. John Medical Center - Sapulpa.

Georg Leroy Hollingshad
(January 31, 1938 - September 30, 2011)
George Leroy Hollingshad, 73, died Friday morning, September 30, 2011 at his home in Kellyville.
He was born to George Thomas Hollingshad and Minnie Lena Hollingshad Remy in Sapulpa.
George was born just minutes prior to midnight, January 31, 1938 and was followed by his twin William Leon just minutes after midnight February 1, 1938.
Leroy attended school at Kellyville and graduated from Sapulpa in 1959.
He married Helen Marie Brumley in 1969.
He worked for his father as assistant plumber and was employed at Bartlett Collins Glass.
After graduation he worded for Harvey Aluminum in Torrance, California from 1959-1968.
He worked sheet metal until his retirement.
Leroy loved playing guitar and singing for other people and really enjoyed performing in public.
Leroy was preceded in death by his mother and father; 2 brothers William Leon and Charles Thomas and wife Jeanetta; sister Dorothy Backland her husband Leonard and their 2 sons Robert and Bruce Backland.
Surviving Leroy is his wife Helen and her daughter Joyce Anglin; step grandchildren Rusty Jackson, Michelle and Darin Swan; nieces Pamela Reeder, Aloha Duncan and Thelma Badgett; nephews John, Philip, Thomas, Barry and Gary Hollingshad and many great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are set for 10:00am, Monday, October 3, 2011 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Leroy will be laid to rest at Kellyville Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
