George Edwin Hurst
(January 9, 1926 - September 4, 2011)
Former Creek County resident, George Edwin Hurst, 85, of Brazoria, TX went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept 4, 2011.
He was born January 9, 1926 in Tallapoosa Co. AL to George and Cora Pike Hurst.
George served in the Navy during WWII where he received numerous medals.
He returned to his home in Oklahoma, working as a boilermaker at Flint Steel, before moving to the Freeport TX area in 1951 and worked for Dow Chemical as a boilermaker, retiring after 33 years of service.
George was an avid hunter and fisherman, but mostly a devoted family man.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 3 half brothers, 1 sister and 1 half sister.
George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Thelma Hurst of Brazoria, TX, 3 children: Larry Hurst and wife Linda of Lake Jackson, TX, Ronnie Hurst of Victoria, TX and Regina Browning of Brazoria, TX. Also, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; 2 brothers: Willie Hurst and wife Mary Ellen of Hendersonville, TN, Donald and wife Mary of Tulsa, OK, sister-in-laws: Francis Hurst, Tina Hurst and Leona Hurst Hamon and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, OK.
Graveside services will be at South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, OK on Sat, Sept 10th at 11:00 AM with arrangements by Smith Funeral Home.
The family will receive guests at the home of Francis Hurst, 2223 S. Park St., Sapulpa after the services.
Ruth Christine Dillow
(August 9, 1933 - August 28, 2011)
Ruth Christine Dillow, 78, daughter of Clarence and Ruby Friend of Sapulpa, Okla. passed away in Las Vegas, Nev. on Saturday August 27, 2011.
Ruth enjoyed making and designing jewelry, achieving her Accredited Jewelry Professional Diploma from, The Gemological Institute of America at the age of 75.
She loved reading the Bible and had written dozens of songs expressing her love for the Lord and her belief in how beautiful Heaven would be.
Her musical background came from her parents who had a profound love for music as do her own children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lonnie and sisters Shirley and Dorothy.
She is survived by her son Steve Dillow, daughter Debra and son-in-law Lee Siefert, brother David Friend, sister Dorothy Wethey; grandchildren Justin, Shawn, Travis, Alisha, Robin, Ryan, Sean, John, Stephanie, Nicole, Marjorie, great grandchildren Jessica, Samantha, Dante, and Tristan, many nieces and nephews she dearly loved.
Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Smith Funeral Home, 1208 S. Main, Sapulpa.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Smith's Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kellyville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Thomas Fredrick Clark
(April 27, 1943 - August 15, 2011)
Thomas Fredrick Clark was born in Sapulpa, OK. on April 27, 1943.
In his younger days, Tom could be seen at Little Dixie firing up the microphone.
In 1961, Tom joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hawaii for three years before being honorably discharged.
In 1970, Tom was hired as a Patrol Officer for the Sapulpa Police Department.
After two year, Tom was promoted to the Detective Division, and served as the Chief of the Detective Division from 1986-1988.
During his years as a Detective, Tom served and protected his community by putting countless criminals behind bars.
In 1988, Tom accepted the Assistant Chief of Police position, and served until 1991.
Tom retired after 21 years of service.
During the next several years tom could only be spotted at his cabin on Lake Hudson.
Tom was the terror of the lake catching all the “big” fish.
Tom went back to work for six years with the U.S. Marshalls office.
Tom passed away on Monday, August 15 2011.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Osie Clark; brother-in-law, Glen Blankenship and Phill Isham.
Tom is survived by his wife Deborah Clark; sons, Fred, Steven, and Tim Clark; grandsons, Dustin and Dallas Clark; brothers, Delmer and wife Edith and John and wife Linda Clark; and sisters, Agnes Blankenship, Betty Napier and husband Sam, Linda Skaggs and husband Bill, and Sharon Martin and husband Larry.
The family will be receiving guests at Smith Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 900 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Sapulpa Church Of The Nazarene.
Officiating will be the Reverends Steve Davis and Jack Carner.
Bearers will be the Sapulpa Police Department Honor Guard.
Interment to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or The Humane Society.

Jewell Fay Peeper
(March 7, 1941 - September 11, 2011)
Jewell Fay Peeper 70, of Bristow, passed from this life on Sunday September 11, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jewell was born March 7, 1941 in Bristow to Alfred and Mae Smith.
She married the love of her life Leo Peeper on June 6, 1960 in Okemah, Oklahoma.
Jewell was preceded in death by both parents; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Jewell is survived by her loving husband Leo of the home, children; Cynthia Martin and her husband Kenneth Jr. of Bristow, Barbara Pilant of Bristow, Leroy Peeper of Bristow, and Brian Peeper also of Bristow, grandchildren; Curtis Pilant of Bristow, and Blake Peeper of Adair; siblings, Ernest and Phyllis Smith of Pryor, OK., William and Cleo Smith of Bristow, OK., Robert Smith of Adair, OK., Virgle and Della Smith of Bristow, OK., Clifford and Fern Smith of Adair, OK., Harvey and Virginia Smith of Adair, OK., Aline and Bill Brown of Turley, OK.
Jewell is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Gemmill.
Serving, as pallbearers will be Cody Chreene, Michael Brown, Jerry Fortney, Robert Wilson, Craig Smith, and Daniel Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Walker, Kenny Smith, and Mark Peeper.
Interment to follow at Sunrise Cemetery.

Mary Jean Jordan
(December 27, 1921 - September 9, 2011)
Mary Jean Jeffries Jordan, 89, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011 at her home.
She was born December 27, 1921 in Glenpool Oklahoma to Harry and Julia Jeffries.
She was married to Marshall Otie Jordan on December 16, 1938.
She worked for Sapulpa Public Schools as a Food Service Manager for 25 years, where she was awarded a distinguished service award.
She was also a member of Victory Christian Church.
Jean was a very loving mother to her two sons and daughters in law, in addition to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
To her family the most valuable gift she gave was her legacy of faith.
She was a strong prayer warrior and no matter who came into her life, they saw the love she had for Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall O. Jordan, her parents Harry and Julia Jeffries, her sister Virginia Mable Harris, and her grandsons Joe David Jordan and Teddy Jordan.
She is survived by Joe and Denise Jordan, James and Barbie Jordan; sister Barbara Raines, six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.
Her family would like to thank the many people who helped care for her including the staffs at Grace Hospice, Visiting Nurses Association and Sooner Home Health Care.
Funeral arrangements will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel with services led by Reverend Sam Porter.
Pallbearers will be James Kent Jordan, Raymond Jordan, Marshall Jordan, Matt Jordan and Jeff Jordan.

Dorothy Lee, 80, of Sapulpa left the earth on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK.
Dorothy was born on December 13, 1930 and has lived in the Kellyville and Sapulpa area all her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Lee; and daughter, Jeanetta Johnson.
She is survived by her two sons, Benny Lee and wife Erma of Tulsa, OK. and Tommy Lee and wife Marcia of Kellyville, OK.; two daughters, Peggy Lee of Sapulpa, OK. and Jeanice Brown and husband Floyd of Sapulpa, OK.; grandchildren, Junior and Janet Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK., Cheryl and Rocky Lindsey of Sapulpa, OK., Dawn Brown, Heather and Timothy Stevens, Micckah Brown and Sha-a-ne Brown all of Sapulpa, OK.; great-grandchildren, Vincent Johnson of Broken Arrow, OK., Kyle Lindsey, Alexis Lindsey, Megan Lindsey, Breanna Lindsey, Bryce Lindsey all of Sapulpa, OK., ShawBaw Brown and Zonu Brown of Sapulpa, OK., and Brook Stevens and Malachi Stevens of Sapulpa, OK.; and 2 brothers, James Watashe, Jr., and Roman Watashe.

Jayne Wyckoff-Evans
(April 17, 1926 - September 11, 2011)
Jayne Wyckoff-Evans, 85, of Sapulpa, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital Hospice Care in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born April 17, 1926 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Cordyn and Tennie C. Jennings.
During her lifetime she worked as a Realtor and as administrator for the Tulsa Planning Commission in Tulsa, Ok.
In 1972 she transferred to Chicago, IL with her husband Richard L. Wyckoff (deceased) where she worked for Amoco and College of Dupage.
She is preceded in death by husband Lewis Evans, her mother and father, her sister Sue Bell, and brothers Cordyn and George.
She is survived by daughter Patricia A. Palmer, Chicago, IL; daughter Merry Jane Eversole and husband Henry, Houston, TX; son Richard L. Wyckoff, Jr., Chicago, IL; and son Mark Lane Wyckoff and wife Pat of Summerville, SC.; step-children Lewis Leon Evans and wife Mary of Boerne, TX; Delores Jeannine Hill and husband, Garry of Velma, OK; daughter-in-law, Charlene Marie Evans of Bixby, OK; and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grand children.
Jayne and her recently deceased husband, Lewis, were members of the Horizon Travel Club and Grand Bank Grand Adventures Travel Club where she served on the Advisory Board since it’s inception.
They spent the last 10 years traveling around the world.
She was an avid quilter and china painter and instructor of both.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Sapulpa, OK.
Officiating will be the Dr. Allen Schneider.
