(December 22, 1954 - August 18, 2011)

Hewey R. Blakley, 56, of Sapulpa, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at his home.

No Funeral services have been planned at this time.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.

Wanda Fay Nelson
(June 17, 1943 - October 3, 2011)

Wanda Fay Nelson, of Mounds, Oklahoma, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, October 3, 2011, at the age of 68.

She was born on June 17, 1943 in Dell, Arkansas to Marjorie and Farrell Reed. Wanda married Tallis Nelson, Jr., the love of her life, at the age of sixteen, on November 7, 1959, in Burley, Idaho.

They left Idaho shortly after they were married to begin their new lives together in Oklahoma.

They were married for nearly 50 years and were blessed with 5 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Tallis Nelson, Jr., her parents, Marjorie and Farrell Reed, and her sister, Shirley Reed.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Raby of Mounds, Oklahoma, and Karen McDonald of Muskogee, Oklahoma; three sons, Russell Nelson and wife Delisa of Fostoria, Ohio, Joseph Nelson and wife Tina of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Jeffrey Nelson and wife Chana of Mounds, Oklahoma.

Sisters Sue Marshall of Vancouver, Washington, Virginia Boen of Gervais, Oregon, and Hazel Netzel and husband Ken of Vancouver, Washington.

She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many friends and family members.

She enjoyed going to church, listening to the Gaither Vocal band, vacationing with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Watching “The Little House On The Prairie”, “The Waltons”, and Lifetime Movie Network were some of her favorite past times.

Our mother was one of a kind! She was an AWESOME wife, mother, grandma, and friend.
During the last six months she kept a journal.
Every page she thanked God for her many blessings.
It is filled with loving thoughts about her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, and friends.
Even though her last days brought struggles, her words proved her incredible faith in God.

A family and friends’ viewing will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6pm-8pm at Smith’s Funeral Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Memorial services will be held Friday, October 7, 2011 at 2pm at Beggs First Assembly of God in Beggs, Oklahoma.

The family has entrusted the care of the services to the directors of Smith’s Funeral Home, Pastor Don Keizor, and Pastor Robert Yandell.

Mildred Marie McIntosh
(August 3, 1921 - September 28, 2011)

Mildred Marie McIntosh, 90, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

She was born to William A. Filer and Lillie Alice Duncan on August 3, 1921 in Norwood, Missouri.

Mildred was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband Leo Warren McIntosh and daughter Sandra Joan McIntosh.

She is survived by children; Darril Wayne McIntosh, Donald Ray McIntosh and wife Carolyn, LaDonna Marie Bailey and husband Tom; 2 sisters Evelyn Hesterly and Bonnie Ryan; 8 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 10:30am at Smith Funeral Chapel in Sapulpa, Oklahoma with Pastor James Bell officiating.

Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, Oklahoma.

Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jane Robbins Tucker
(June 23, 1923 - September 3, 2011)

Betty Jane Robbins Tucker, a life-long Sapulpa resident, went home to be with her Lord on September 3, 2011.

She was bora on June 23, 1923 to James Ernest and Corrine Alexander Robbins, of Mounds, Oklahoma.

While still a teenager, she met her future husband Clifton Luther Tucker.

After WWII began, she went to Washington D.C. to become a Bell Telephone operator alongside her sister June.

On December 4, 1943, she traveled by train to Ohio, where she and Clifton, who was on leave from the Army Air Force, were married.

She became a devoted wife and proud mother of four boys.

As her family grew up, she worked for Frito-Lay, Sapulpa Brick & Tile, and, with her husband "Tucker", ran the Aquarium Variety Pet Shop in Sapulpa for over 20 years.

She had many fond memories of all the Pet Shop customers and children.

Betty was very well known in her neighborhood and community, often entertaining children for blocks around their home on Thompson St.

Some of those neighborhood children, now grown, were among her frequent visitors in the last few years.

Betty was an active member of First Christian Church for many years.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, her parents, her brother Junior Robbins, and sisters Zoe Wilcox and June Woods.

She is survived by her brother Bill Robbins, her sons, Tom, Tim, Terry and Ted and their families; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many cousins, and a host of friends and neighbors.

There will be a visitation for family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 06 at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

SERVICES will be held at the First Christian Church of Sapulpa, OK, on Wednesday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m.

Officiating will be Gary Radtke. Bearers will be Dan Tucker, Glenn Tucker, Scott Tucker, Stacy Tucker, Tad Tucker, T.J. Tucker, and Halen Tucker.

Honorary bearers will be Archie Secrest, Jim Deer, Ray Smith, Jim Brown, Carl Boyd, and Wayne Bolin.

Interment will follow at Mounds Cemetery, Mounds, OK.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.

Bruce D. Daugherty
(April 9, 1918 - September 28, 2011)

Bruce D. Daugherty went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 28, 2011.

Bruce was born in Atoka, Oklahoma on April 9, 1918, to Bruce and Celita Daugherty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, four sisters and his beloved wife of over 30 years, Lavena Sewell Daugherty.

Bruce moved to Tipton, Oklahoma at a young age, and would live there until adulthood.

He later moved to the Tulsa area, where he lived until his retirement from the Walter J. O'Bannon company.

As a young man, Bruce was a member of the Oddfellows Lodge and the Sapulpa Jaycees.

Bruce never met a stranger, and he was a born salesman.

He had an infectious chuckle and always had a story to tell.

Travel and fishing were two of his favorite hobbies.

He loved his family, and especially enjoyed being "Papa" to his grandchildren.

Through the years, Bruce was often called upon to care for his aging parents and siblings.

Bruce is survived by his daughter, Myrna Villers and her husband Don, of Oklahoma City, daughter, Edith Dodson, and her husband, Charles, of Sapulpa, son, Thomas Sewell, and his wife, Carolyn, of Flower Mound, Texas, one sister, Ruby Boris, of Fort Worth, Texas, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Bruce battled Alzheimer's in his final years.

His life was greatly enhanced by the loving care he received at Manchester House in Oklahoma City.

The family would like to express sincere thanks to the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City for the excellent care and dignity shown to our beloved father and grandfather.

Funeral services for will be held Saturday, October 1, at 2: 00 P.M. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Anna Julia Ballard
(July 30, 1914 - October 2, 2011)

Anna Julia Ballard, 97, died peacefully at her Sapulpa home on Sunday, October 2,2011.

Anna was born on July, 30 1914 in McCloud, Ok. She was preceded in death by her husband R.C. Ballard: her parents, Joe and Gertrude Clark: and one brother, Allen Clark.

She is survived by her three sons, Ken Ballard and wife Pat of Victoria TX, Robert Ballard and wife Charlotte of Del Rio, TX, Joe "Rusty” Ballard and wife Twana of Sapulpa; Five daughters, Jean Lewis and husband Bert of Barnsdall, Phyllis Nanny of Sapulpa, Dee Brooner and husband Clyde, of Sapulpa, Janice Burgess and husband Denny of Terlton, Nelda Douglas and husband, Ken of Sapulpa.

Survived by two sisters: Mamie Copeland of Tulsa and Ella Mae Myers of Alexandria, Louisiana, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Bilby a long time friend of the family officiating.

Bearers will be grandchildren, Troy Ballard, Joe Robert Ballard, Tiffany Ballard, Julie Rhoades, Angela Frew, Carrie Burgess, Holly Caceres, Doranna Gates, Darci Earls, Robin Earls Bruton, Stacy Strickland, and Paige Ann Newman.

Honorary bearers will be 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.

Burial will be at Kellyville Cemetery in Kellyville, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Allen Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund. 7001 Highway 97, Sapulpa, Ok. 74066.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.

Robert John Nedlose
(July 28, 1970 - September 21, 2011)

Robert John Nedlose, 41, of Sapulpa passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his home.

He was born on July 28, 1970 to Paul and Amanda (Abbott) Nedlose in Oklahoma City, OK.

He was a paramedic for Life-Flight and Creek County Ambulance Service.

He was a member of Faith Church, Glenpool, OK.

He served his country in the US Army.

He enjoyed go-carts and working on Volkswagons and metal detecting.

He is survived by his wife Jeanene (Shearer) Nedlose of the home; children, Brihanna, Nicole, and Madison Nedlose of the home; parents, Paul and Amanda Nedlose of Bristow, OK.; brothers, Paul and Diana and Rodney and Cherri Nedlose; in-laws, Larry and Dvonne Shearer of Sapulpa, OK.

Memorial service has been set for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Faith Church, Glenpool, OK., located at 1901 W. 171st Street, Glenpool, OK., 74033.

Officiating will be the Reverend Toby Youngblood.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.
