Robert Wayne “Bob” Wallace

Robert Wayne “Bob” Wallace entered this life on May 18, 1945 in National City, California born to Richard Denison and Opal Mae George Wallace and entered into rest on June 27, 2013 in Mead, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.

Bob married Sharron Sue Erwin on March 23, 1965 in Riverside, California and they later moved with their family to Caddo in 1982 and he opened the Caddo Café in 1983. Several years later after its closing, he became Chief of Police in Caddo then went on to become the Undersheriff for Bryan County where he served for years. He then served Caddo again as Chief until he moved to Whitewright, Texas where he served as Chief of Police for 7 years. Bob and Sharron left Whitewright and moved to Mead, Oklahoma to be closer to family in 2005 and Bob began working for the Choctaw Casino as a Security Guard. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family was his whole world. He always had a smile and took pride in his job that he loved. He was a dedicated member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church and he loved listening to his son, Darren preach the word of God. “Our loss is Heaven’s gain.”

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Opal Wallace and brother, Donald Wallace.

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Sharron Wallace of the home; children, Darren Wallace and wife Nikki of Mead, Melissa Bryant and husband Nathan of Mead and Jason Wallace and wife Theresa of Wichita, KS; sister, Anita Crane and wife Lee of Caddo; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 1, 2013 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Donnie Hyde Jr., Darren Wallace and George Lenning will officiate. Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Bo Joines, Logan Joines, Larry Scoggins, Chase Bryant, Toby Russell, Daniel Wallace, Jeremiah Wallace and Kody Young serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 7-9 PM.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.

Paul Ford

Paul Ford was born on April 5, 1965 in Orange County, California to Harold L. and Dorothy Turner Ford and passed away on June 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years, 2 months and 12 days.

Paul graduated from Silo High School and later married Donna Dobbs on November 18, 1987 in Sherman, Texas. He worked for GTA and APS and was a member of the Cherokee Nation. He was a lifelong hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed auto and small engine repair.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Harold L. Ford and grandparents.

Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 25 plus years, Donna Ford of the home; daughter, Amber Williamson of Durant; mother, Dorothy Ford of Rockwall, TX; sister, Patti Gwyn of Rockwall, TX; granddaughter, Morgan Williamson of Durant and niece and nephew, Christina and Alex Gwyn of Rockwall, TX.

Services to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with George Couch officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park in Ada, Oklahoma with Aubrey Stanfield, Junior Marksberry, Eddie Evans, Dylan Evans, Bryan Giannini, Dale Stanfield, Bob Newton and Chris Martin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Prazan. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 PM.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.

Eula Maudell Williams

Eula Maudell Williams entered this life on August 18, 1937 in Utica, Oklahoma born to Faye and Lena Ellis Mitchell and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 30, 2013 in Denison, Texas at the age of 75. Maudell attended and graduated from Utica High School and later married RL Williams on December 23, 1955 and they were blessed with five children. After RL’s death in 1998, she married Wes Barfield on May 21, 2005.

Leona Bernice Blain

Leona Bernice Blain, 90, of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Thursday morning May 30, 2013 at Southern Pointe Living Center in Colbert. She was born October 4, 1922 in Pirtle, Oklahoma to John Newton and Lola Alice Lance McCurdy. She attended Pirtle schools and married Loyd Whitfield in January of 1940 and to them twin Daughters were born Joyce Anna who passed away at birth and Ruth Ann Whitfield Robinson who passed away September 6, 2008.

James Myron Smith

James Myron Smith was born June 4, 1957 in Caddo, Oklahoma to James Marland and Bonnie Marie Smith. James went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 28, 2013 at the age of 55 years 11 months and 24 days. James attended Caddo schools and married Debra Ann Child in Sherman, Texas on August 20, 1999. James was of the Baptist faith and for most of his life he worked hard as a welder and a logger. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mary Elizabeth Hilburn-Trent

Mary Elizabeth (Hilburn) Trent a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this earth on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the age of 91 years and 7 days. She was born in Olney, Oklahoma on Sunday, May 21, 1922 to Agustus and Hannah (Brown) Hilburn. Mary Elizabeth married Johnnie Trent on Monday, May 11, 1936 in Mead, Oklahoma. On May 11, 2006 they celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary.

Wilburn Burns

Wilburn Burns, a resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away in his hometown on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the age of 69 years 10 months and 5 days. He was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Homer and Alma (Fulcher) Burns on Friday, July 23, 1943. Wilburn married Christine Willis in Denison, Texas on Friday, February 28, 1992. Wilburn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bokchito, Oklahoma. He worked as a Motor Vehicle Enforcement Officer.

Ruby Stephens Britt

Ruby Stephens Britt, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life in Leonard, Texas on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the age of 77 years and 9 months. She was born to John L. and Hattie (Van Hooser) St. Clair on Saturday, August 24, 1935. Ruby St. Clair married Luther A. “Red” Stephens on Saturday, December 2, 1950 in Ft. Worth, Texas, they were married for 27 years and had 9 children. Ruby was a loving mother and grandmother.

Jeff Chavis

Jeff Chavis, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the age of 47 years 7 months and 1 day. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Danny and Lynette (Keever) Chavis on Thursday, October 28, 1965. Jeff was a man who had an awesome work ethic. He enjoyed working with his dad at “the shop”. Jeff liked to be outside fishing whenever he could but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Thurman Hooper

Thurman Hooper, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the age of 91 years 3 months and 25 days. He was born in Yuba, Oklahoma to William Tom and Katie (Garner) Hooper on Tuesday, January 31, 1922. Thurman married the love of his life Betty Nell Maupin in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday, June 1, 1947 after returning from World War II. Thurman attended school at High View and Pirtle, and graduated from Blue High School.

David “Emory” Longwell, Sr.

David “Emory” Longwell, Sr., a resident of Durant, Oklahoma went home to his lord and savior when he passed away in Plano, Texas on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the age of 82 years 9 months and 7 days. He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri to Louis and Susan LaRusha (Holden) Longwell on Sunday, July 13, 1930. David Longwell married the love of his life Mary Sue Lester in Soper, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 6, 1957.

David proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He went on to be a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired at the age of 50. David then went on to be a full time farmer. He will be remembered as the “Candy Man” because he always had life savers to give to everyone at the 7th and Beech Church of Christ. David enjoyed gunsmithing, duck hunting and gardening. He was also an avid Sooner football fan. However, his greatest joy was his three grand kids and tinkering at his farm near Cobb.

Mr. Longwell is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Longwell of the home; sons, David E. Longwell, Jr. and wife Sharon (Wilson) Longwell of Euless, Texas and Danny Longwell of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Laura, Cody and Matthew Longwell of Euless, Texas.

Mr. Longwell was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Susan Longwell; brothers, Louis Longwell, Jr. and Charles Longwell; sister, Mildred Pray.

Family Hour will be from 7:00-8:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. The Funeral Service in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 26, 2013 at the 7th and Beech Church of Christ in Durant with Bro. Ken Stegall and Bro. John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be David Longwell, Danny Longwell, Laura Longwell, Cody Longwell, Matthew Longwell and Tiffany Hannan.

Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, Durant, Oklahoma.
