Joe L. McCowan, Sr.
Joe L. McCowan, Sr., of Willow Springs Resort in Mead, Oklahoma, received his final orders on Thursday, April 18, 2013 to move one last time, destination Heaven. Joe was born in Billings, Montana on November 30, 1916 to William McCowan and Nora (Chenoweth) McCowin. Joe married Julia Gayleen Fort in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 15, 1943. Joe joined the CCC Camp DG #52 in Worland, Wyoming, then the 8th Calvary at Fort Bliss, Texas. In 1938 Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force where he spent 31 years. Joe served during WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War and Gulf War. Joe and his family lived in such places as the Philippines, Florida, M.W.C., Bermuda, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Greece, Turkey, and Hawaii then back to Midwest City where he retired. Upon retirement Joe worked at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City. Joe nursed his wife thru Alzheimer’s for six long years after which he moved to be by his daughter at Lake Texoma. Joe was an active member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church until 2003 when his illness prevented him from being active.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years, two brothers Earl and Willard, a sister Mildred and two nieces Loretta and Ruth; one nephew, Bart. Joe is survived by his stepson Jerry C. Ward and wife Faye of Mustang; son, Joe L. McCowan, Jr. and wife Sandy of Noble; daughter, Jolene Reid and late husband Hank of Lake Texoma; two special nieces, Collen Killion and husband Fred and Marie Schmollinger and husband Bill. There are 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Jerry Michael Wolf
Retired Detective Sgt. Jerry Michael Wolf of Tehachapi, CA and formerly of Durant, OK passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in Santa Rosa, NM at the age of 69.
Jerry was born on March 19, 1944 in Durant, OK to Albert Wolf Jr. and Pauline Kennedy Wolf. He graduated from Durant High School in 1962 and attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He moved to California and began his career with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office in 1967 and proudly served until his retirement in 1999. Jerry was a member of the POPA Association, Shooting Club of Tehachapi and the Horse Thief Country Club and he enjoyed playing golf, making golf clubs, fishing, sport shooting and he was an avid NASCAR fan.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Pauline Wolf Jr.
Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 plus years, Patricia Wolf of the home; daughter Tanya Wolf of Lakewood, CA; brother, Carroll Wolf of Durant, OK; step children, Joseph Simmons and wife Michelle and their children, Kristofer and Dominque of Glendale, AZ and Renee Baker of Riverside, CA; nieces and nephews, Nathan Wolf and wife Melissa, Chad Wolf and wife Myiumi, Rainie Wolf, Darrin Wolf and Koita Wolf.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Brown’s Funeral Service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.
Cynthia Ann Little
Cynthia Ann Little, 58, of Carrollton, Texas passed away Sunday morning April 21, 2013 at Vitas Hospice in Irving, Texas. She was born December 4, 1954 in Temple, Texas. She attended Durant, Oklahoma schools and Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She married Harley “Gene” Little, Jr. August 21, 1979 in Durant. She was a Meat-Deli Supervisor for Albertson's in Carrollton, Texas and had lived there the past 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Lois Skaggs and Father-in-Law Harley “Gene” Little, Sr. and a Niece Amber Williamson. She is survived by her Husband Gene Little and Three Sons Christopher, Eric and Matthew Little all of the home Carrollton, Texas. Sister Pam Williamson and husband Steve of Armstrong, Oklahoma. Mother-in-Law Gerri Little of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Brother-in-Law K.J. Little of Oklahoma City, Sister-in-Law Jeannette Askins of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Aunt Imogene Smith of Durant. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive.
A Funeral Service for Cynthia Ann Little will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon April 25, 2013 at Cunningham Funeral Home in Caddo with Reverend Monty Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma. There will not be a family night.

Delsie Vera Dooley
Delsie Vera Dooley of Durant, Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the age of 88 years and 2 months at her residence. She was born on Thursday, February 26,1925 in Lone Oak, Oklahoma to Burrell Floyd and Maggie Lee (Luman) Bennett. Delsie married Tim Dooley on December 25, 1940 in Calera, Oklahoma. She was a member of the 1st Assembly of God and a homemaker. Delsie was a baby sitter and enjoyed bingo.
Her survivors include her son, Charles Dooley and wife Mary of Roberta, Oklahoma; daughters, Jean Noltkamper and husband, David of Roberta, Oklahoma, Patty Luttrell and husband Ricky of Calera, Oklahoma, Linda Thomas of Roberta, Oklahoma, Wannell Gatlin and husband Cloyce of Mead, Oklahoma, Jodie Sipes of Marshall, Texas, Ronda Bauck and husband Warren of Durant, Oklahoma, Tammy Olendorff and husband Terry of St. Charles, Missouri and Tonya Ingram and husband Roy of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Richard Dooley and wife Michelle of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Lesa King and husband, Brent of Mead, Oklahoma. 27 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dooley was preceded in death by her parents, Burrell and Maggie Bennett; husband, Tim Dooley; daughter, Jannell Crews.
Services for Mrs. Dooley will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Leon Haas officiating. Burial will be at the Rosehill Cemetery with Charles Bearden, Warren Bauck, Chucky Dooley, Timmy Dooley, David James Noltkamper, Brandon Conditt, Danny Noltkamper and Taylor Thomas serving as pallbearers. Family hour will be from 7 - 8 P.M. Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Holmes-Coffey- Murray Funeral Home.

Mary Sue Forbes
Mary Sue Forbes, 62, of Cartwright, Oklahoma passed away Thursday afternoon April 25, 2013 at her home. She was born June 19, 1950 in Cuthbert, Georgia to Ernest and Jo Alma Dudley Proctor and attended Denison, Texas schools. She married Jack Forbes December 15, 1972 in Durant, Oklahoma and had owned and operated Sue’s Kitchen in Cartwright.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, a Brother Robert Proctor and a Sister Carolyn Bowers. She is survived by her Husband Jack Forbes and a Son Jack Forbes and wife Tanja. Grandson Jadan Trey Forbes all of Cartwright. Brother Ernest Proctor of Waco, Sisters Donna Hilsmeier of Houston and Pat Kerby of Waco. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Service for Mary Sue Forbes will be 11:00 A.M. Monday morning April 29, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Cartwright with Brother Ray Early officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory in Colbert.
Pallbearers will be Brian Halley, Dustin Geter, Ronnie Wines, Bobby Weathers, Jack Forbes, Jr., Jadan Forbes,Jack Dodd and Max Dodd.
Family Hour will be from 2-3 Sunday afternoon at Cunningham Funeral Home.

Jimmie Lee Bryant
Jimmie Lee Bryant, 77, of Durant died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his residence following a courageous 10-month battle with lung cancer. A Military Funeral Honors Ceremony will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
Mr. Bryant was born December 16, 1935 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to J.A. and Lula Lorene Mayes Bryant. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the young age of 16 and retired twenty-one years later in 1973. While in the Air Force, he was a Senior Flight Engineer in addition to being qualified on a combat crew.
He received The Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievements while participating in aerial flight as Rescue Crew Flight Engineer aboard an HC-130P aircraft over hostile territory while stationed in Vietnam. Sergeant Bryant played a vital role in the successful recovery of a downed F-105 pilot from a very heavily defended area.
During his tour from 1968 – 1969 he was awarded The United States Air Force Air Medal with the first through the sixth oak leaf clusters for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. He was also awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
He went on to retire from a second career with the U.S. Postal Service. The golf course then became his new office. To his delight, he achieved two hole-in-ones while ‘working’.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Bryant of Durant; four children from his first marriage are sons, Dennis L. Bryant of Biloxi, Mississippi, Rodney D. Bryant and wife Josephine of Green Valley, Arizona, Jimmie D. Bryant of Green Valley, Arizona; daughter, Kathy L. Bryant and husband Dr. Mark Peterson of Salem, Oregon; step-daughter, Melanie L. Voit and husband Michael of Navarre, Florida; sister, Etta Corene Ray and husband Bobby of Neosho, Missouri. Jimmie was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Lee, Dr. Imran Siddiqi, Sunshine Hospice and staff for the compassionate care Jimmie received during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Greater Texoma Health Clinic, 900 N. Armstrong Ave., Denison, Texas 75020.

Eddie Inez Sudderth
Eddie Inez Sudderth, age 91 passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Denison, Texas. Inez was the last survivor of nine children born to Griff and Ruth Murray in Bennington, OK. She attended Bennington schools and lived and worked in Durant for most of her adult life. She was married to R.L. (Bob) Williams, who passed away in 1968. She married Rayburn Sudderth in 1982 and lived in Leonard, Texas for 17 years. She made many friends in Leonard and attended church at Valley Creek during that time. After Rayburn’s passing she moved back to Bryan County and resided in Mead, OK. She attended Mead Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of many wonderful friends. Her church family added much joy to her life. She enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family and friends. She was very proud of her family and loved to tell stories about her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond Sudderth, brothers; D.C. Murray, Tommy Murray, Elmer Ray Murray and Charles Murray, also sisters Edna Boyett, Emogene Blue-Eyes, Jewel Murray and Helen Murray, son, James Robert Williams, daughter, Ruth Ann Taylor and granddaughter, Heather Marie Williams.
Survivors are daughter-in-law Phyllis Kay Williams, Broken Bow, OK, son-in-law Buddy Taylor, Chandler, AZ, sons Grady Williams and wife Kathlene, Lake Charles, LA., Mike Williams and wife Lynda, Durant, OK, daughter Phyllis Coker and husband Dwayne, Denison, TX, grandchildren, Renee Sweeden, Queen Creek, AZ, Valerie Reid, Houston, TX, Robert Williams, Broken Bow, OK, Dawn Lanclos, Pearland, TX, Janette Leggett, San Antonio, TX, Emily Williams, Shreveport, LA, Elena Williams, Lake Charles, LA, Dale Jackson, Plano, TX, Shayne Coker, Lakewood Village, TX and Tracy Coker, Sherman, Texas. Eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
Family visitation time will be at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Mead Baptist Church. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Church Cemetery in Bennington, OK.

Jean Haddock
Jean Haddock, 77, passed into eternal life on Monday, April 29, 2013. The family welcomes everyone to Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas for visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday May 2, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 3 at Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma with Rev Roger Speers officiating. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Greene, David Kesselman, Cole Kesselman, Tony Haddock, Kendall Durham and Kent Durham.
Burial will follow at Kemp Cemetery, Kemp, Oklahoma.
Jean was born Friday, October 25, 1935 in Durant, Oklahoma and lived most of her life in the Texoma area. She married the love of her life, Don Haddock on January 4, 1957. Jean dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was always there to help anyone in need. She was an amazing cook, tended beautiful gardens and adored all children.
She is survived by husband Don of Hendrix; son Tony Haddock of Liberty, Oklahoma; daughters Tammi Renfro & husband Eddie of Sherman, Texas, Angela Kesselman & husband David of Park City, Utah; grandchildren Heather Haddock, Nicholas Greene, Brittany Moreno, Cole Kesselman; great-grandchildren Rylan Greene, Jagger Moreno, Bradyn Greene & Deacon Greene.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Corbett and Gladys Boston and brothers Robert, Clayborn, Billy, & J. R. Boston.
