Meranda Williams
Meranda Williams a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and especially a precious child of God left this life too soon on Monday, October 8, 2012 in Soper, Oklahoma, at the young age of 18 years 7 months and 5 days.
She was born to David and Patty (Parker) Williams on Thursday, March 3, 1994 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Meranda was a wonderful young woman who left a positive impression on everyone she met.
Laura Corder Frye
Laura Corder Frye, 76, died October 10, 2012 in Fort Worth, TX.
Funeral Services: 8:00 a.m. Saturday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.
Laura attended Durant public schools through the 12th grade.
She graduated from SOSU.
After graduation and marriage to Jim Frye, she moved to Fort Worth, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Helen Corder.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
James Yartubby Barnette
James Yartubby Barnette, 86, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2012.
He was born in Stidham, Oklahoma on May 6, 1926 to John Fuschata Barnette, an original enrollee of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, and Eunice Barnette. James was very proud of his Creek heritage.
He grew up and graduated from Central High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma where he was an outstanding athlete excelling in baseball and football.
William Randall “Randy” Wynn
William Randall “Randy” Wynn, 53, of Colbert, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday Morning September 25, 2012 at his home.
He was born August 17, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to James Monroe and Mahotta LaNell Brown Wynn.
He attended Colbert Schools and the Jane Brooks School for the Deaf in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
He married Lisa Salazar December 22, 2001 in Sherman, Texas.
He was a material handler for Johnson & Johnson in Sherman for over 22 years.
Funeral services are pending with Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
Edna Mae Sloan
Edna Mae Sloan was born on October 7, 1950 in Dumont, Arkansas to Jack Q. and Ann B. Fountain Fogg and passed from this life on September 24, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 61.
Edna graduated from Davis, Oklahoma schools and received her Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
She was a licensed minister in the Charismatic faith and also served in the office of the Prophet.
Services are pending with Brown’s Funeral Service Durant, Oklahoma.

Graveside services for James M. Crockett, 81, of Durant, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 28, 2012 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma.
Chaplain Keith McIntyre will officiate.

Hazel Anderson
Hazel Anderson, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the age of 82.
She was born in Old Allison, Oklahoma to Charles Den and Ester (Blair) Russell on August 23, 1930.
Hazel Russell married Bill Anderson in Sherman, Texas on August 2, 1947.
Hazel had a caring nature that led her to work in Health Care for 30 years.
Funeral services are pending with Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
Dorothy H. Williams
Dorothy H. Williams died September 25, 2012.
She is survived by Belton, her beloved husband of 66 years; her children, Martha W. Flynn and Thomas B. Williams; grandchildren, Emily Ann Lipnick and Kevin Flynn; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Alice Hammond; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maud and John Hammond, and sisters, Ruby Mae Edge and Ruth Imes.
Dorothy was born on July 17, 1924.
Peggy Lou Alsup
Peggy Lou Alsup, 59, of Calera passed away September 28, 2012 at her home.
She was born on March 25, 1953 in Lubbock, TX to Alvin and Mary (Guffey) Styles.
She attended school at Lubbock High School and went on to finish a one year bookkeeping/accounting class.
She and Leon Kent Beal have been together for 38 years.
Peggy was a housewife and of the Pentecostal faith.
She enjoyed computers, cards, and loved being with her family.

Graveside service for Mattie Dudek, 94, of Durant, and formerly of Madill, Oklahoma, who passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her home, will be held at Woodberry Forrest Cemetery in Madill.
