Mary Gail Hill

Mary Gail Hill was born on October 5, 1946 in Houston, Texas, to Charles Sydney (Choc) and Winona Harrison and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2012 in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 65.
Mary Gail was raised and educated in Durant and received her RN Degree in 1973.
After leaving Durant for several years, she returned in 1979 and continued to be a dedicated nurse and caretaker up until the last year.

Theda May Hicks-Lenon

Theda May Hicks-Lenon, 80, of Peggs, OK, died June 6, 2012, worked for the Oklahoma State Employment Service, graveside service Monday, June 11, 2012, 1:00 p.m. Bokchito Cemetery.

Doug Lawrence

Doug Lawrence was born on August 27, 1950 in Durant, Oklahoma, to William Burton Lawrence Jr. and Pansy A. (Underwood) Lawrence and passed from this life on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age 61.
Doug has been a lifelong resident of Bryan County, graduating from Mead Schools and later attending SOSU.
He worked as a mason and building swimming pools.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited and he enjoyed motorcycles, guns and taking care of his dogs.
Doug was preceded in death by his father; grandparents Beatrice Underwood and William Burton Lawrence Sr. and Evelyn Lawrence.
Doug is survived by his mother, Pansy Lawrence of Durant; sister, Deborah Lawrence of Durant; lifelong friends, Steve Wilson and wife, Debbie and their children, Cliff Wilson and wife, Shembra and Ericka Sisk and husband, Caleb; and Eddie Talley; and other close and devoted friends.
Memorial services for Doug will be held at a later date.
Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.

Jerome Stanley

Jerome Stanley passed from this life in Durant, Oklahoma on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the age of 58 years 2 months and 7 days.
He was born in Atlantic Beach, South Carolina to Jethro Hart and Lucille (Stanley) Batts on Thursday, February 25, 1954.
Jerome married Jennifer Lewis in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, September 17, 2011.
Jerome was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Durant, Oklahoma.
Family hour for Jerome Stanley will be 6-7 p.m. on May 4, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 724 West Texas, Durant, Ok.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on May 5, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. John Kinsey officiating.
Interment will follow at Yarnaby Cemetery in Yarnaby, OK.

Marilyn Jeanetta Haley

Marilyn Jeanetta Haley entered this life on Thursday, December 12, 1940 in Shirley, Arizona, born to Homer and Cora (Cook) Caldwell and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Calera, Oklahoma, at the age of 71.
Marilyn married Rex Haley on February 14, 1970 in Silo, Oklahoma and they spent 42 wonderful years together.
She was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant.
Services are pending with Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.

Franky Dee Halbrooks

Franky Dee Halbrooks, Jr., 46, of Calera passed away on April 28, 2012 at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1965 in Durant, OK to Franky Dee Halbrooks, Sr. and Brenda (Pruitt) Halbrooks.
He graduated from Calera schools.
Franky married Melissa McLean on January 30, 1988.
He was of the Baptist faith, dearly loved his kids, NASCAR, love fishing, boating, motorcycles, four wheeling, and horseback riding.

Mahala Ann Trout

Mahala Ann Trout, 66, was born April 9, 1946 in Durant, OK, the daughter of Harold Watson and Pauline (Manary) Watson and had lived in Boswell for approximately twelve years.
She passed away April 26, 2012 in OKC.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Trout and a daughter, Beth Ann Fike.
Mahala was a homemaker and caregiver.
She was also a member of First Baptist Church, Boswell.

James W. “Slim” Southard

James W. “Slim” Southard, 69, of Lubbock passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Texas Specialty Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Idalou First Baptist Church, with Destal Blakley officiating.
Services are under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mr. Southard was born on December 17, 1942 in Kemp, OK, to the late Frank and Thelma (Creech) Southard.
