Omie Williams
PICHER, Okla. - Omie Della Rachel Williams, 75, 120 E. Ninth St., died at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 1996, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Williams was born July 27, 1921, at Ironton, Mo.
She had lived in Picher since 1943, moving from Macks Creek, Mo.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Picher.
She married Edwin Andrew Williams on March 1, 1944, in Perry County, Mo.
He died Aug. 12, 1958.
Surviving are four sons, Edwin Ray Williams, Tonganoxie, Kan., Rollie Williams, Quapaw, James Williams, Picher, and Thomas Williams, Miami; two daughters, Anna Sayers, Picher, and Joyce Frazier, Wyandotte; two stepsisters, Opal Reeves, Miami, and Geneva Dick, Jay; four brothers, Ernest Reeves, Lowell, Ark., James Reeves and Hershel Reeves, both of Picher, and Irvin Reeves, Macks Creek; two sisters, Zelma Fox, Dongola, Ill., and Pauline Colvard, Fairland; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher, with the Rev. Leonard Stoner officiating.
Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miami.
Pallbearers will be John Lowery, Max Martin, Terry Wallen, Jackie Crafton, Glenn Wiford and Gene Wood.
Terri Harper
Terri Lynn Harper, 42, Talala, Okla., died at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Okla., after an illness.
She was a daughter of John W. Freeman, 1505 E. 50th St., Joplin.
Mrs. Harper was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Tulsa, Okla.
She graduated from Will Rogers High School, Tulsa, and Northeastern A&M; College, Miami, Okla.
She later returned to Tulsa.
She lived at Beggs, Okla., for eight years and in Talala the past seven years.
She was a computer lab coordinator for Oolagah-Talala public schools.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Oolagah, and a former member of the Girl Scouts.
She married Rob Harper on March 12, 1977, at Tulsa.
He survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Travis Harper, of the home; a daughter, Christy Harper, of the home; and two sisters, Nancy Langley, Tulsa, and Kim Knight, Viburnum.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Oolagah-Talala High School auditorium, Oolagah.
The Rev. Michael R. Knight and the Rev. Ben Williams will officiate.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Talala.
Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Home, Nowata, Okla.
Bennie Hail
MIAMI, Okla. - Bennie William Hail, 78, Miami, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 1998, at his home after five months of ill health.
Mr. Hail was born Feb. 12, 1920, at Welch.
He attended the West Anthracite Country School, near Welch, for several years and later attended school in Commerce.
He worked for Sperry-Vickers Industrial Plant, Joplin, Mo., for many years, retiring in 1982 as production foreman.
He also owned and operated Ben Hail's Grocery Store in North Miami for several years.
He was a longtime member of North Miami Baptist Church.
He served on the North Miami City Council for many years and on the Commerce (Okla.) Board of Education from 1952 to 1958.
He married Imogene Burchett on May 16, 1939. She died Feb. 19, 1983.
He married Delores A. Mills on Feb. 22, 1988.
She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Jerry Lee Hail, Joplin, Mo.; two daughters, Patricia Faye Hall, Commerce, and Nancy Elizabeth Hail, Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Lucille Eads, Commerce; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 620 Fifth St. S.E., Miami.
Arrangements are pending with Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
Margie Singer
MIAMI, Okla. - Graveside services for Margie Mae Mericle Singer, 86, Miami, who died Saturday, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at GAR Cemetery, Miami.
The Rev. Clyde Stilley will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Guilford-Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
Arthur Womack
MIAMI, Okla. - Arthur D. Womack, 94, 1936 A St. N.E., died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 1998, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after an illness.
Mr. Womack was born Jan. 12, 1904, at Southwest City, Mo.
He moved to Miami in 1949 from Southwest City.
He was a home builder, working for Harralson Construction Co. in Miami.
He retired in 1966.
He was a member and former deacon of Northwest Baptist Church, Miami.
His wife, Edith Womack, died Dec. 13, 1994.
One daughter also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Neldena Harris, Miami, and Mildred Harrell, Tulsa; an adopted daughter, Bette Oyler, Grove; two sisters, Ruth Parrish, Hagerman, Idaho, and Ruby Jean Benning, Vinita; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
Martin Hauan
Martin Hauan died at his home in Oklahoma City on Thursday, April 26, 2001.
Marty was born on January 11, 1916 in Thompson, Iowa.
He was the son of Norwegian immigrants. Anton and Marit Hauan, and was the only one of their six children to be born in America.
When he was three years old, the family moved to Seattle, Wash. where he lived until the death of his mother in 1929.
At age fourteen, he and his father returned to farming in Thompson, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Hart Kirby Hauan, whom he affectionately called "Kirb."
He is survived by her daughter, Jean and husband, Jim Hunter; grandsons, Jim Hunter IV and wife Cheral, and Phillip Martin Hunter and wife Kim; great-granddaughter Alyssa Hunter; great-grandson Christopher Hunter; great-granddaughters, Laura Hunter, Kirby Hunter, Stephanie Colln; and great grandson, Chase Colln, all of Carthage; and a special great-granddaughter, Kelly Hunter Burch and husband Lynn Burch of Oklahoma City.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at the First Christian Church in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2001 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.

Funeral services are under the direction of Hahn-Cook/ Street and Draper Funeral Directors, Oklahoma City.
Ralph E. Brand
Ralph E. Brand, age 80, of Quapaw, Okla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at a local hospital.
Ralph Eugene Brand was born Dec. 11, 1922 in Olathe, Kan. the son of Daniel F. and Ethel W. (Sedgwick) Brand.
Mr. Brand owned and operated Brand’s Dry Good in Baxter Springs, taught 6th grade at Riverton grade school and worked as a substitute mail carrier until his retirement in 1995.
He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force.
Ralph and Barbara were united in marriage on May 20, 1993 in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Survivors also include his children, Daniel Brand and wife Barbara of Tipton, Mo., Barbara Carol VanNatter of Blue Springs, Mo., and Valerie Messick and husband Craig of Joplin, Mo.; a stepson, Dr. Fred Tillis and wife Ann of rural Quapaw, Okla.; four grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel in Baxter Springs, Kan.
Rev. Steve Minor will officiate.
Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hall, Sam Weaver, Larry Bingham, Bert Kellum, Kent Warstler and Glen Crotts.
