Webb City, Mo. - Virginia M. Phillips, age 95, of Tulsa, Okla. passed away Saturday, July 7, 2001.
Mrs. Phillips was born September 29, 1905 in Carthage, Mo.
She had lived in the Webb City area most of her adult life until moving to Tulsa a year ago to be with her daughter.
She was employed by Smith Brothers Manufacturing Company of Webb City.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Neosho.
Daisy Moore
Daisy Dorothy Williams Moore of Commerce, Okla. died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2001 at Eastwood Manor Nursing Home in Commerce after a long illness.
She was 90.
Cletis Edman Stoner
Cletis Edman Stoner, Bluejacket, Okla., went to be with his Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2001, at St. John's Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after a long battle with cancer.
He was 88 years old.
Eve Kraft
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Services for Eve F. Kraft, 69, 712 Church, who died Thursday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Mo.
The Rev. Gary Bishop will officiate.
Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Joseph Breaune
MIAMI, Okla. - Joseph G. Breaune, 81, 53201 East 110 Rd., died at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after a long illness.
Mr. Breaune was born Aug. 13, 1915, at El Paso, Texas.
He attended elementary through law school in Norman, Okla.
He was graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1942.
He served in the Army in the Philippines during World War II and later in Japan, where he worked on the war crimes commission for Gen. Douglas McArthur.
He moved to Miami in 1946 and established a law practice.
He served as a municipal judge of Miami and was a district judge of Ottawa and Delaware counties for five years.
He was an associate district judge of Ottawa County for five years.
He retired in 1991.
He was active in organizing a rural water district west of Miami.
He served on the rural water district board for 20 years.
He helped organize the Sheltered Workshop and Friendship House, both of Miami.
He was chairman of the Ottawa County Red Cross for five years.
He commanded the Miami National Guard Unit for 10 years.
He served as president of the Miami Noon Lions' Club in 1966.
He was a member of Moore-McCoy Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2688 and the Floyd L. Perry American Legion Post No. 147.
He was past master of Miami Masonic Lodge No. 140, AF&AM.
He was a member of the York Rite and was a Shriner.
He was chairman of the Advancement of the Boy Scouts of America, Bartlesville, from 1958 to 1968.
He taught Sunday school classes and served as an elder and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Miami.
He married Ruth Virginia Williams on June 23, 1939.
She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Glenda King, Derby, Kan., and Roberta Crum, Port Duncan; a brother, Harry Brown, St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Mildred Meeks, Yuma, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Miami.
The Rev. John P. Wilson will officiate.
Burial will be in Duffield Cemetery, Jay.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Dickerson, Bonney Whiteley, John Dunaway, Charles O'Dell, Paul Dent and Kenneth King.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Northeast Oklahoma Veteran's Funeral Detail.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
Contributions may be made to Baptist Regional Health Center or First Presbyterian Church, both in Miami.

PICHER, Okla. - Memorial services for Mary Elizabeth Quintlan Brock, 58, 101 E. DeVilliers Circle, who died Tuesday, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher.

Almeda Hinkle
MIAMI, Okla. - Almeda Cravens Hinkle, 84, Miami, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after a short illness.
Mrs. Hinkle was born July 26, 1912, at Konawa.
She had lived in Neodesha, Kan., and Welch before she moved to the Miami area three years ago.
She was graduated from Welch schools.
She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She married Herman Hinkle on March 18, 1933, at Vinita.
He died Aug. 17, 1986.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Ferrell and Maudie Bluejacket, both of Welch.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Neodesha (Kan.) Cemetery. Roland Adcock, minister, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
H.E. Wilson
GROVE, Okla. - H.E. Wilson, 93, Grove, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Grove General Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Wilson was born May 1, 1903, in the Vidette community, near Little Rock, Ark.
He started his teaching career in Arkansas and later was superintendent of schools in Byron and Beaver, Okla.
He was superintendent of Grove schools for 16 years until 1964.
He taught physics and history at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Miami, from 1964 until he retired from teaching in 1968.
He began auditing schools in 1964 for Delaware County and retired in 1987.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association since 1928 and the Masonic Lodge since 1929.
He was a member of the Rotary Club since 1942, having been a member at Beaver and was the last charter member of the Grove Rotary Club.
He was a member of the Baptist Church in Grove.
He married Dorothy Horton in 1926.
She died in 1986.
He later married Martha Hoover.
She survives.
Other survivors include a sister, Billie Thompson, Mayfield, Ky.; and three stepsons, whose names and addresses were unavailable; and several step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
The Rev. Loyd Crawford will officiate.
Burial will be in Olympus Cemetery.

MIAMI, Okla. - Memorial services for Roy M. "Mike" Johnson, 88, who died Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, with minister Leon Weece officiating.
Burial will be in Williams Timberhill Cemetery, west of Miami.

Sarah Ellis
MIAMI, Okla. - Sarah Okla Johnston Ellis, 100, 501 F St. N.E., died at 3:05 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 1997, at Baptist Regional Health Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Ellis was born July 25, 1896, at Akins, Okla.
She was a homemaker.
She moved to Miami from Treece, Kan., in 1930.
She attended First Assembly of God Church, Miami.
Her husband, Benjamin F. Ellis, died June 6, 1975.
Surviving are three daughters, Martha Gailey, Miami, Mary Lou Morgan, Bethany, and LaVetta Endsley, Pawhuska; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God Church.
The Rev. Gerald Baser and the Rev. Kenneth Thulin will officiate.
Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miami.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Jim Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
Pearl Heiney
BLUEJACKET, Okla. - Pearl Ann Heiney, 88, Bluejacket, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997, at her son's home in Adair after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Heiney was born Nov. 23, 1908, at Garland County, Ark.
She moved to Bluejacket in 1943.
She was homemaker.
She was a member of the local Church of God and the Flower Garden Club.
She married K.M. Heiney on May 31, 1931, at Oma, Ark.
He died Aug. 13, 1978. Survivors include six sons, Russell Heiney, Bluejacket, Buddy Heiney, Anderson, Mo., Clifford Heiney, Republic, Thomas Heiney, Chelsea, Kenneth Heiney, Vinita, and Ralph Heiney, Adair; three daughters, Margie Crabtree, Miami, Hazel Heiney, Bluejacket, and Winnie Durbin, Seneca, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
The Rev. Ralph Heiney and the Rev. Onas Hood will officiate.
Burial will be in Bluejacket Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Heiney, Jeff Heiney, Marty Heiney, Jerald Durbin, Junior Heiney and Kenny Crabtree.
Mary Hollin
AFTON, Okla. - Mary Ellen Hollin, 75, Afton, died at 3:40 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997, at a Grove nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Hollin was born Feb. 17, 1922, at Deming, N.M.
She was a retired nurse.
She moved to Afton from Santa Maria, Calif., about eight years ago.
Her husband, Ottis Hollin, survives.
Also surviving are a son, James Archie Hext, Vinita; two daughters, Mary Ann Richards, Duncan, Ariz., and Gladys Jean Schatan, San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Marvelas Graham, state of California; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jim Thomas Funeral Home, Afton.
No services are planned.
Clarence Liston II
MIAMI, Okla. - Clarence William Liston II, 70, 409 D St. N.W., died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, March 17, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Liston was born Sept. 10, 1926, at Manila, Philippines.
He lived the last three months in Miami, moving from San Francisco, Calif.
He served 18 years in the Army.
He was a World War II and Korean War veteran.
He was a Catholic.
Surviving are two sons, Clarence William Liston III, Miami, and Michael Liston, Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Margaret Rose Thornton, Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Maria Gonzales, San Francisco; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at GAR Cemetery, Miami.
The Rev. Sam Carper will officiate.
