FAIRLAND, Okla. - Services for Cecil Ray Taylor, 38, Fairland, who died Sunday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg.
The Rev. Daryl Gaddy will officiate.
Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Pittsburg.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at 908 W. Sixth St., Pittsburg.
Mr. Taylor was born May 24, 1958, at Junction City, Kan.
Survivors include a sister, Glenda Crouch, Joplin, Mo.
Melvin Trease
COMMERCE, Okla. - Melvin "Tiny" Trease, 72, 205 Midway Drive, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, March 3, 1997, at his home after an illness.
Mr. Trease was born Oct. 20, 1924, at Picher.
He had lived in the Commerce area since 1927.
He worked for the B.F. Goodrich plant at Miami for 26 years.
He also worked at Picher & Grants Steel, Grants, N.M., for several years.
He was a member of Commerce Christian Church.
He married Imogene Steel on Nov. 17, 1942 at Cardin. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Michael Trease, Commerce, Larry Trease, Miami, Ronnie Trease, Yukon, and Steve Trease, Fairland; two brothers, C.M. Trease, Miami, and Kenneth Trease, Claremore; a sister, Neomi Peck, Commerce; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 1997, at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami. Jack Steel will officiate, and Bill Richey will assist. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Larry Ridings, Bob Evans, Danny Garner, Henry Patton, Marion Nichols and Art Robertson.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Cardin Christian Church or St. John's Hospice, Grove.
Francis Usher
GROVE, Okla. - Francis E. "Bud" Usher, 68, Grove, formerly of Pittsburg, Kan., died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 1997, at his home after several years of ill health.
Mr. Usher was born July 28, 1928, in Pittsburg.
He moved to Grove six years ago from Pittsburg, where he lived most of his life.
He attended schools in Pittsburg and Joplin, Mo.
He received his pharmacy degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
He worked for Scherring labs as a detail representative and later worked as a pharmacist at Crowell Ash Drug Store in Pittsburg.
He owned and operated Usher's Green Cross Pharmacy in Pittsburg from 1971 until he retired in 1991.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodge and Benjamin Fuller Post No. 64, American Legion, all of Pittsburg.
He was past state commander of the AmVets.
He was a Missouri champion pistol marksman and raised English Setters and Brittany hunting dogs.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Usher, Pittsburg, and Brian Usher, Afton, Okla.; two daughters, Kathleen Brown, Coffeyville, Kan., and Dina Usher, Wichita, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg.
The Rev. Robert McElwee will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fern Ayers
MIAMI, Okla. - Fern M. Ayers, 89, Bartlesville, Okla., formerly of Miami and Bluejacket, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 1997, at her daughter's home in Langley after an illness.
Mrs. Ayers was born Sept. 15, 1907, at Jet.
She had lived in the Bartlesville area for six months, moving there from Miami.
She also lived in Bluejacket, where she was a member of the Baptist Church.
She married Fay D. Ayers on March 2, 1925, at Oswego, Kan. He died April 18, 1995.
Survivors include a son, Ralph Ayers, Miami, Okla.; three daughters, Margie Mulisch, Bartlesville, VerNae Hines, Siloam Springs, Ark., and Jane Alice Parks, Langley; three sisters, Roberta Douthitt, Garden Grove, Calif., Pansy Whorton, Colony, Kan., and Violet Ayers, Bluejacket; 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Baptist Church, Bluejacket.
The Rev. Marty McCord and the Rev. James E. Sooter will officiate.
Burial will be in Bluejacket Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Parks, Darren Parks, David Parks, Wayne Blevins, Jim Anderson and Tommy Gomez.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Thomas Funeral Home, Welch.
Elbert Munson
MIAMI, Okla. - Elbert Wayland "Tod" Munson, 71, 1015 16th Ave. N.E., died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
Mr. Munson was born Nov. 12, 1925, in the Moccasin Bend area, east of Miami.
He attended Number Five School in Ottawa County.
He was a 1943 graduate of Wyandotte High School and had been named an outstanding alumni of the school.
He was retired from the U.S. Army, retiring March 31, 1974, as a chief warrant officer and helicopter pilot after 30 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He was a recipient of the Legion of Merit Award, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Army-Aviation Wings, Combat Infantry Badge, Senior Parachute Badge, Glider Badge, Air Medal (11 awards), Presidential Unit Citation (two awards), Army Commendation Medal (four awards), Good Conduct Medal (four awards), World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Army Occupational Medal in Germany, National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star and two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Service Medal with 60 devices, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, four overseas service bars, and 16 years of overseas duty.
He married Mildred Laverne Lewis on July 19, 1947, at Miami. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Wes Munson, Shawnee; a daughter, Kathy Preaus, Kaneohe, Hawaii; a brother, Leonard Munson, San Benito, Texas; five sisters, Marjory Davis, San Marcos, Texas, Rosalie Brewster and Bonnie Hollandsworth, both of Miami, Betty Young, Seneca, Mo., and Pat Rankin, Marietta, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Ottawa Indian Cemetery, east of Miami.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

FAIRLAND, Okla. - Cecil Ray Taylor, 38, Fairland, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 1997, at Baptist Regional Medical Center, Miami, where he had been a patient one week.
Mr. Taylor was born May 24, 1958, at Carl Junction, Mo.
He moved to Fairland eight months ago from Pittsburg, Kan., where he lived for 12 years.
He worked as a derrick hand and driller in the oil business in Western Kansas until retiring due to ill health.
He married Mae Evans Hughes on Feb. 4, 1994, at Independence, Kan. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, C.J. Taylor, Commerce; two daughters, Christy Mercer and Della Taylor, both of Commerce; a stepson, Donald Hughes, San Angelo, Texas; two stepdaughters, Sharon Barnett, Independence, Kan., and Jackie Newton, Pittsburg; his mother and stepfather, Ruth and David Crunkleton, Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, David Taylor and Eddie Taylor, both of Joplin; two sisters, Marilyn Oldham, Springfield, Mo., and Glanda Crouch, Joplin; his maternal grandmother, Rena Gillion, Joplin; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg.
