Jack Murphy
WYANDOTTE, Okla. - Jack Murphy, 56, Wyandotte route 2, died at 5:48 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Baptist Regional Health Center after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Murphy was born Jan. 16, 1941, at Fremont, Ohio. He moved to the Wyandotte area in 1980. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He married Shirley Ann Cameron on Nov. 15, 1982, at Miami. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, John Paul Murphy, Seneca, Mo., Michael James Murphy, Grove, and Danny Murphy, state of Washington; a daughter, Christine Jo Parker, McCutchenville, Ohio; a stepson, Vance Cameron, Wyandotte; his parents, Paul and Rita Murphy, Naples, Fla.; a brother, Jim Murphy, Bettsville, Ohio; a sister, Jennifer Drake, Naples; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Assembly of God Church, Wyandotte. The Rev. Royce Hutson will officiate. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, south of Wyandotte.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Frazier, Tom Burns, James McCall, John Sullivan and Bud Young.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Robert Mease
JAY, Okla. - Robert B. Mease, 75, Jay, died at 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Grove General Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Mease was born Nov. 16, 1921, at Stonington, Colo. He moved to the Jay area in 1968. He worked at Simmons Packaging, Jay. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, Jay.
He married Patricia Tanner on Feb. 20, 1959, at Guymon. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Darrell Mease and Jerrall Mease, both of Jay; two daughters, Jo Ann McKinney and Penny Stanford, both of Jay; five brothers, William Mease, Donald Mease and Ernest Mease, all of Grand Junction, Colo., James Mease, Stonington, and Harold Mease, Lubbock, Texas; three sisters, Pauline Murrey, Walsh, Colo., Eunice Ford, Johnson City, Kan., and Eleanor Watkins, Sharon, Kan.; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sycamore Baptist Church, Jay. The Rev. Chuck Glass will officiate. Burial will be in Piney Cemetery, Jay.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at Hinderliter-Woodard Funeral Home, Jay.
Grace Watts
GROVE, Okla. - Grace Irene Watts, 92, Grove, died at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Watts was born Dec. 9, 1904, at Glencoe, Okla. She was a longtime resident of Jay, before moving to Grove.
She was a homemaker.
She married Gerald Watts on Nov. 5, 1926, at Tulsa. He died on Sept. 22, 1992.
A son also preceded her in death.
Survivors include five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Duffield Cemetery, Jay.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hinderliter-Woodard Funeral Service, Grove.
Everette Barker
GROVE, Okla. - Everette Benjamin Barker, 57, Grove, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Grove General Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Barker was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Anderson, Mo. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Afton, the Disabled American Veterans, Grove, and the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail, Miami.
He married Alpha Cox on Sept. 5, 1970, at Claremore, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Juanita Summers, Springfield, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove. The Rev. Ray Melugin will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Grove.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Hicks, Ora Summers, Keith Crowder, Bo Jackson, Manferd Cox and Bruce Hicks.
Joseph Karleskint
COMMERCE, Okla. - Services for Joseph Otto Karleskint, 85, 403 N. Maple St., who died Thursday, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Miami.
The Rev. Michael Rooney will officiate. Burial will be in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Miami.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Jim Karleskint, Dave Patton, Tim Durborow, Johnnie Foust, Frank Foust and Terry Durborow.
Robert Tavis
PICHER, Okla. - Robert E. Tavis, 61, 621 Trails End, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after an illness.
Mr. Tavis was born March 1, 1935, at Alameda, Calif. He moved to Picher 21 years ago from Placerville, Calif. He was a welder and had been a dispatcher for Bingham Sand and Gravel Company, Treece, Kan., for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Tavis; two sons, Danny Tavis and Charles Tavis, both of Quapaw; a daughter, Nora Muse, Dewey, Ariz.; a stepson, Steve Roberts, Denison, Texas; two stepdaughters, Debra Halberg, Picher, and Janice Steinbacher, Oklahoma City; and 10 grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher.
Burrell Wagoner
MIAMI, Okla. - Bennie Burrell Waggoner, 84, 1130 G St. N.W., died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after an illness.
Mr. Waggoner was born March 14, 1912, at Maricopa, Calif. He moved to the Miami area in 1945. He was a shipping foreman for the B.F. Goodrich plant in Miami for 28 years. He retired in 1974.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Miami; past master of Miami Lodge No. 140, AF&AM; the Tulsa Scottish Rite Consistory; past master of all three bodies of York Rite in Miami; served as junior and senior deacon and junior and senior steward of the Grand Lodge of Oklahoma; past patron of the Order of Eastern Star Miami Chapter, and the Grand Cross of Color of Rainbows of Miami.
He married Louise Gammon on April 21, 1934, at Tulsa, Okla. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jerry Lee Wagoner, Melrose, Fla., and Ronald E. Wagoner, Ardmore; and five grandchildren.
