Mary Cunningham
EUCHA, Okla. - Mary Jane Cunningham, 52, Eucha, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Cunningham was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Eucha and was a lifetime area resident.
She was a caretaker for the Claremore Club.
She married William "Dude" Cunningham on Sept. 18, 1963.
He died May 8, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, James Cunningham and Jeff Cunningham, both of Eucha; two brothers, Frank Chewey, Eucha, and Robert Creekkiller, Parsons, Kan.; and one grandson whom she raised, Dylan Cunningham of Eucha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hillside Baptist Church, near Jay.
The Rev. John Wayne Summerfield will officiate.
Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay.
Alta Tuttle
GROVE, Okla. - Alta Kelly Tuttle, 89, Grove, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 1996, at Grove General Hospital after an illness.
Miss Tuttle was born Sept 22, 1907, in Chanute, Kan.
She moved to Grove with her husband in 1971 from Chanute.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Grove.
She married Albert F. Tuttle on June 29, 1925, in Independence, Kan.
He died Aug. 6, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Alice Stroud, Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Buzzard Cemetery, Grove.
The Rev. Darwin King will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
Lorraine White
MIAMI, Okla. - Graveside services for Lorraine R. White, 76, 819 A St. N.W., Miami, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Glen Abbey Cemetery, Miami.
The Rev. Dawna Bridgewater will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
Contributions may be made to the St. John's Hospice of Grove, in care of the funeral home.
Virginia Boen
JAY, Okla. - Virginia Mae Boen, 58, Jay, died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at Grove General Hospital, Grove, after a long illness.
Miss Boen was born Aug. 1, 1938, at Oklahoma City, Okla.
She moved to Jay from Oklahoma City at age 4 and lived in Jay most of her life.
Survivors include four brothers, Jay Boen, Claremore, Floyd Boen, Marshall, Texas, Ira Boen, Eufaula, and Jack Boen, Oklahoma City; and two sisters, Louise Gabriel, Grove, and Shirley Bowen, Wichita, Kan.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunny Lane Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hinderliter-Woodard Funeral Service, Jay.
Eldon Marney
COMMERCE, Okla. - Maurice Eldon Marney, 64, 1115 E. D St., Commerce, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Marney was born Aug. 3, 1932, at Commerce.
He was a lifetime Commerce resident.
He received bachelor's and master's degrees from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan.
He worked for Eagle-Picher Industries for 13 years.
He was a teacher and coach at Commerce High School for 14 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Commerce.
He was ordained as a deacon in the church in 1961.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Masonic Lodge, both in Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Marney, Commerce; a daughter, Ellan Edwards, Beaver; a brother, Nelson Marney, Tulsa; and a sister, Mildred Long, Joplin, Mo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Commerce, with the Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Art Robertson, Bill Turner, Bud Witten, Gerald Moudy, Phil Crosby and William Goodman.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today Jim Thomas Funeral Home, Commerce.
Contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice, Joplin, or First Baptist Church, Commmerce, in care of the funeral home.
Margaret Booth
PICHER, Okla. - Services for Margaret B. Harvey Booth, 69, Picher, who died Tuesday, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Picher.
The Rev. Les Woodcock will officiate.
Burial will be in Glen Abbey Cemetery, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Mike Ellis, Dale Harvey, John Harvey Jr., Virgil Witham, Robert Witham and Steve Chazell.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Tarry Connor
AFTON, Okla. - Tarrence Dean "Tarry'' Connor, 54, Afton route 3, died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn., after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Connor was born Feb. 28, 1942, at Baxter Springs, Kan.
He was a self-employed entrepreneur.
He moved to rural Afton four years ago from Tulsa.
He was a member of Grace Fellowship Church, Tulsa.
He married Mary Susan Glasgow on July 28, 1962, at Lawrence, Kan. She survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Dawn Hughes, Indian Head, Pa., Kelly Susan Orr, Enid, and Kasey Lane Farris, Miami; his stepfather, Clyde Smith, Afton; a brother, Sid Connor, Fort Smith, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Derfelt's Baxter Chapel, Baxter Springs.
The Rev. Elmer Orr and the Rev. Greg Childress will officiate.
Burial will be in Baxter Cemetery, Baxter Springs.
Pallbearers will be Fletcher Hughes, Steve Orr, Curtis Zabonik, Burleigh Cook, James Bytheway and Jim Vonier.
