Wanda Bowlin
AFTON, Okla. - Wanda Bowlin, 71, 204 S. Monroe, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at Craig General Hospital, Vinita, after a long illness.
Mrs. Bowlin was born Nov. 20, 1925, at Phoenix, Ariz.
She moved to Afton in 1945.
She was a homemaker.
She was a 34-year member of Post No. 124 Auxiliary, American Legion, Afton, and a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church, Afton.
She married Marvin Bowlin on May 20, 1946, at Columbus.
He survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Lura Clack, Vinita; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Southern Baptist Church.
The Rev. Joe Don Olds will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Lee Bassett, Richard Bassett, Larry Bassett, Garry Bassett, Steve Bassett and Richard Bassett Jr.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Afton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adcock Funeral Home, Afton.
Ronald Dry
FAIRLAND, Okla. - Ronald Lee Dry, 68, Merritt Island, Fla., formerly of Fairland, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996, at Cape Canaveral Hospital, Cocoa Beach, Fla., after a long illness.
Mr. Dry was born Aug. 18, 1928, at Fairland.
He moved to Bernard County, Fla., from Baton Rouge, La in 1966.
He retired in 1981 after 15 years as owner and operator of Ron Dry Oil Co., Coco Beach.
He was active in little league baseball, Merritt Island High School football team, and was a supporter of the midget football program.
He married Betty Housman on June 2, 1949, at Fairland.
She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Derwood Dry, De Land, Fla.; a daughter, Pam Dry, Miami, Fla.; a brother, F.A. Dry, Fort Worth, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Services are pending with Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami.
Alberta Hamilton
MIAMI, Okla. - Alberta Flora Hamilton, 90, 2128 Denver Harnar Drive, Miami, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after a long illness.
Ms. Hamilton was born June 10, 1906, in Ottawa County.
She had lived in Miami her entire life.
She was a teacher and principal at Roosevelt Elementary School, Miami, for 45 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Miami.
She was a member of Retired Teachers Association, Miami.
Survivors include a brother, Charles V. Hamilton Jr., Grand Junction, Colo.; and two sisters, Mary Lewis, Sedalia, Mo., and Laura Jones, Miami.
Services are pending with Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
Harry E. Worley Jr.
GROVE, Okla. - Harry Edward Worley Jr., 78, Grove, died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 1996, at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, after a sudden illness.
Mr. Worley was born May 21, 1918, at Kiefer.
He and his father started Worley Funeral Home at Grove in 1940.
He served in this profession until his death.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1941, helping to start a Navy hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He retired as chief petty officer in 1945.
He served as chief several times on Grove's first fire department and was one of the founders of the Grove Airport.
He was a 60-year member of First United Methodist Church, Grove, and a 50-year member of Funeral Directors Association.
He was a founding member of Rotary Club, Moose Lodge and Elk's Lodge, all of Grove, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, F.M.C.A. (the Rollin' Okies), Legion of the Moose and Masonic Lodge, all of Grove.
He married Ana Marie Gonzalez on Dec. 14, 1945, at San Juan.
She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Harry Wallace Worley, Grove, and Gary Worley, Owasso; a daughter, Elizabeth McGee, Cedar Hills, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church.
The Rev. Nicky Blackford and the Rev. Stephen Vinson will officiate.
Burial will be in Olympus Cemetery, Grove.
The Rev. Quentin McGee will officiate.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove.
Ferol Jingst
MIAMI Okla. - Services for Ferol E. Jingst, 87, Miami, who died Saturday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jim Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
The Rev. William Forrest will officiate.
Burial will be in GAR Cemetery, Miami.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Sparkman, Harold Wilson, Ron Sparkman, David Sparkman, Johnny Sparkman and Jerry Graham.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
