Dan Coker

Funeral service for Seminole resident, Dan Coker will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Coker Family Cemetery with Revs. Dorsey Nero and Houston Tiger officiating, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Wake services will be held at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. Coker passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the age of 49 at Integris Baptist Medical Center. He was born on March 21, 1954, in Seminole to Barney and Katie West Coker. He attended school at Pleasant Grove School and after high School he enlisted in the U.S. Marines, receiving an award for expert markmanship. He retired as a laborer in 1994 due to a disability. Coker was proceeded in death by his parents Barney and Katie Coker; his brothers, Barney Coker Jr., and Jesse Coker; and one sister Shirley Henneha Survivors include one son, Anthony Stumblingbear of Oklahoma City; six sisters, Martha Flippin, Margie Stalnaker, Juliet Hopper, Jane Northcott and Rosetta Coley, all of Seminole, and Daisy Marshall of Tulsa. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Hopper, Ocie York, Randy Ahhaitty, Thompson Postoak, David Jones, Richard Cole, Dave Coley, Fred Combs and Benny Lena.

Madge Cloud

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Madge Leona “Mimi” Cloud are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Memorial Park in Cushing, with graveside committal at 1 p.m., under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Cloud died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the age of 98 at Seminole Estates Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 24, 1905, in Muskogee to Granville Niles McDaniel and Martha (Stark) McDaniel. She was married to Delmas Archie Cloud on Sept. 9, 1941. Cloud formerly lived in Shamrock, El Paso, Texas and after serving 20 years in the Army, the couple retired and made their home in Drumright. Before beginning her career as a mother and homemaker, she was a clerk in a local bakery in Shamrock, Texas. Her husband served in the army and their family traveled throughout his career. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church for over 25 years. She moved to Springfield, Mo. to live with one of her daughters in 1994. Since her return to Seminole, she attended El Shaddai Temple with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Cloud; four children, Freddie June, James Richard and Edward Niles Wensauer and Winifred Jean Keener. She is survived by three children, Patricia Church and Rose Marie Keener of Seminole and Jack Leo Wensauer of Roxboro, N.C.; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Diana Turner

Funeral services for former Seminole County graduate, Diana Faye Turner are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at the Evangelistic Temple in Ada with Rev. Mickey Keith officiating. Interment will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery in Ada under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, also of Ada. Turner died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the age of 51 at her home. She was born Sept. 11, 1952, to Raymond Cornelius Choate and Jessie Faye Waters Choate. She moved to the Wynnewood area in 2000 from Ada. She went to grade school at New Model and graduated from Wewoka High School in 1970. She also graduated from Seminole Junior College in May 1972. She went on to East Central University earning her Master’s Degree. She taught at several area schools including Bowlegs, Olive, 16 years at Vanoss and currently was the principal at Wynnewood School. She married John Wayne Turner on Aug. 4, 1972 in Holdenville. She was a member of the Evangelistic Temple, ATAE, CCOSA, and NAOESP. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Marissa Turner. She is survived by her husband, John Turner of the home; four sons, Mark Wayne Turner and wife Misty of Holdenville, Luke Charles Turner and wife, Michelle of Ada, Micah Ray Turner and wife Rachel also of Ada, and Joshua Dean Turner of Wynnewood; three grandsons, Morgan Turner, Jonathan Turner, and Conner Turner; two sisters, Kathy Turner and husband, Jack of Mason, Texas and Cherry Christian and husband, David of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Danny Choate and wife, Margaret of Sasakwa and Mickey Choate and wife, Darlene also of Sasakwa. Pall bearers will be Jack Martin, David Keith, Louis Daniel, Ken Nessel, Ron Bates and Bill Vandegriff. Honorary bearers are Billy Ringwald, Ken Hancock, Jerry Elliott, Archie Faulkner and all Evangelistic Temple Elders and Deacons.

Cretaylor Hinex

Funeral for former Seminole County resident, Cretaylor Hinex are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Winrow officiating. Interment will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. Hinex died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the age of 73 at Norman Veteran’s Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Boley to Joseph Hinex and Ethel (Talley) Hinex. He graduated from Dunbar High School. He was married to Ollie Ruth (Winrow) Hinex on July 19, 1953. He was retired from Kaiser Steel with 17 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC from April 30, 1951 to April 30, 1953. Hinex was known for his humor and love of animals, especially horses and dogs. No one could nurse a sick animal back to health like “Cree.” He was preceded in death by his parents; and three siblings, Joseph Hinex, Larry Hinex and Opal Johnson. He is survived by his spouse, Ollie Ruth Hinex; two daughters, Delores Richard and Angie Lee, both of San Bernadino, Calif.; two brothers, Johnny Lee Hinex of San Jose, Calif. and George Hinex of Albuquerque, N.M.; four sisters, Pauline Winrow and Willa Mae Stargell of Earlsboro, Wilma Neil of Anchorage, Ak. and Jo Ann Samilton of Tulsa; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Casket bearers include Curtis Hinex, Joseph Hinex III, Arlander Winrow, James Samilton Sr. James Samilton Jr. and Anthony Samilton. Honorary bearers are Robert L. Richard IV, Robert L. Richard III, Johnny Lee Hinex, George Hinex, C.D. Norman and Booker Winrow.

David Goodman

Memorial services for former Seminole resident, David Goodman are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at the First Hispanic Church of God of Prophecy in Pryor. He died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the age of 44 in his home at Locust Grove. He was born Oct. 14, 1959, in Alaska to Haskell and June Goodman. He was married to Brenda Goodman in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Daniel Goodman. He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home one son, Shawn Goodman; two stepdaughters, Amy Nichols and Heather Pyle; and a child on the way. He is also survived by five brothers, Donny Goodman and Mike Goodman, both of Seminole, Ricky Goodman of Talequah, Bobby Goodman of Modesto, Calif and Mark Goodman of Minco; one sister, Linda Doss of Oregon; two grandsons and one granddaughter.

Betty Wilcox

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Betty Lou (McMahan) Wilcox are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at the Little Cemetery north of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. Wilcox died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at the age of 66 at Seminole Medical Center. She was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Seminole to Roy “Punch” McMahan and Bertha (Walley) McMahan. She married Ray Wilcox on Aug. 13, 1955, in Poteau. She retired from Pioneer Nursing Home in Seminole. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant children, Vena Kay and David Wayne Wilcox; one brother, Roy “Buck” McMahan; and two sisters, Jo Evelyn Williams and Wilma Jean Massengale. She is survived by her husband, Ray Wilcox of the home; one son, Mike Wilcox of Seminole; one daughter, Tammy Walker of Little, one brother, Jim Ray McMahan of Gladewater, Texas; one sister, Nancy Hall of Rolla, Kan. and two grandchildren. Casket bearers include Terry Hull, Lee Hull, Mark Hull, Cling Hull, Buster Wilcox and Jimmy Wilcox.

Gerald Morris

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Gerald Wayne Morris are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Revs. Carl Whitfield, Steve Cline and Frank Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. Morris died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at the age of 51 in his home in Seminole. He was born July, 27, 1952, in Holdenville to Gerald Leland Morris and Geraldine (Collis) Morris and graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1971. He was married to Janet Denise (Bailey) Morris and was disabled. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by G.L. and Betty Morris of Seminole, common-law spouse, Janet Denise Morris of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Terri Laine and J.D. Stasny of Prague; step-daughter and son-in-law, Shalene and Jeff Lewis of Seminole; step-daughter, Jessica Bailey of Seminole; brothers, George Morris and Robert Morris, both of Seminole; three step-grandchildren, Tyler, Jasmine and Brooklyn Bailey of Seminole; and mother and father-in-law, Bobbie and Paul Postman of St. Louis. He was a very loving son, father, husband and grandfather and had many friends who loved him. Casket bearers will be Wendell Darnell, Opie Daniels, Eddie Boatman, Wade Kifer, Jeff Lewis and Phillip Welch. Honorary bearers are Robert Vasquez, Doyle Morris, Michael Morris, Randell Myers and J.D. Stasny.

Hazel Longacre

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Hazel Leona (Huckabee) Longacre, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ at Little. Rev. Rusty Dawson will officiate the services. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home. Longacre died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at the Seminole Estates Nursing Center at the age of 91. She was born to Fred G. Huckabee and Alice G. (Fullbright) on May 4, 1912 in Shawnee. She married Robert Melton Longacre on May 26, 1927 in Oklahoma City. Longacre was a longtime Seminole resident for 66 years having moved here from Oklahoma City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ of Little. Longacre was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Melton Longacre on Feb. 20, 1988; her parents; one sister, Lillian Maxwell in 2001; one brother, Freddie Huckbee in 1921; two sons-in-law, Hubert Aldridge in 1973 and Leroy McNally in 1995; one granddaughter, Vickie Dennise Aldridge in 1959; and one great-grandson, Lance Cooper in 1987. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Aldridge, Seminole, Bobbie Seifried, Seminole and Geneva McNally, Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Velora McGee, Pampa, Texas; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Steve McNally, Rusty Aldridge, John Seifried, Mark Seifried, David Bass, George Bentley, and Stacy Cooper.

Linda Sue Ivy

Funeral services for former Seminole County resident, Linda Sue (Jones) Ivy, now of Raleigh, N.C., are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8 at the Sasawka Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wesley Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konawa under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home. Ivy died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, in Atlanta, Ga. She was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Holdenville to Lawrence Jones and Estie (Price) Jones. She was married to Jesse Calvin Ivy on Feb 14, 2000, in Memphis, Tenn. Ivy was an accountant for the State of North Carolina Dept. of Public Education. She was a member of the Nuese Baptist Church of Raleigh, N.C. She received her B.S. Degree in Accounting from the University of Alaska. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Kay Brock. She is survived by Jesse “Cal: Ivy of the home, one son, Richrad Forbes of Raleigh, N.C.; one daughter, Susan Toole of Smithville, N.C.; one stepson, Danny Ivy of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one step daughter, Allison Sullivan, also of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister, Inetha Watters Yeargan of Ada; two brothers, Claude Jones of Luther and Bobby Jones of Konawa; seven grandchildren, step grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Casket bearers will include Scott Jones, Steve Jones, Jack Merrell, Joe Flanary, Harlis Yeargan and Aubrey Bryce.

Glenna Leach

Graveside services for former Seminole resident, Glenna Leach are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, with Charlie Clem officiating, under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. She died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the age of 83 at Prague Municipal Hospital. She was born April 4, 1920, in Cooper, Texas to A.T. Taylor and Lula (Middlebrook) Taylor. She married Roy Leach, who preceded her in death in 1962. She lived in Seminole for over 20 years, Atoka for 20 years and spent the last three years of her life living at Parkland Manor Nursing Home in Prague. She was a former grocery store owner and a school cook at New Lima Schools for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Seminole. She is survived by one daughter Kathy Speer of Shawnee; two granddaughters, and five great grandchildren.

Pauletta Williams

Funeral Services for longtime Seminole County resident, Pauletta “Sue” Williams will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Little Cemetery, north of Seminole with Larry Chesser officiating, under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka. She passed away on Dec. 6, 2003, at the age of 51 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City. Williams was born Decc 23, 1951, in Seminole to Jack and Doris Lowery Hendrix. She attended Crooked Oak Schools and married Wallace Williams, Jr. on Oct. 16, 1989, in Seminole. She worked as a Health Care Worker in Weleetka. Williams was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church. She was proceeded in death by her parents Jack and Doris Hendrix. Survivors include her husband Wallace Williams Jr. of Wewoka; three children Yancy and Jesse Porter of Tecumseh, Tonya and Melvin Craig of Wewoka, Ronnie and Jenny Porter Jr. of Wewoka, one nephew Shawn and Cathie Davidson of Wewoka, one sister Leta and Gary Crosby, two brothers Larry and Debbie Hendrix of Wewoka, Jack and Melinda Hendrix of St. Louis, Missouri. 6 grandchildren Ray Craig, Jasmine Porter, Nathaniel Craig, Stormy Porter, Nicholas Craig Everette Porter, two aunts Bill and Billie Brock of Okc., Shirley Lowry of Wewoka and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will include Charles Brumley, Jason Brooks, Ray Craig, Wendel Lemmings, Bo Ray, Wallace Willams Sr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gary Osborne

Emily Harmon

Funeral services for former Seminole resident, Emily Leona (Barre) Harmon are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene located at 3900 Overholser Drive in Bethany. Rev. Don Nobles will officiate. Funeral services conducted by Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole. Harmon died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the age of 94. She was born April 10, 1909, in Biloxi, Miss. to Namota Susan (Lyon) Barre and Emile George Theodore Barre. She was the youngest of seven children. She lived in New Orleans, La. until the age of 13, then moved to Newkirk, where she graduated from high school in 1927. In 1937, she moved to Alhambra, Calif. where she met and married her husband in 1941 and resided until 1962. After the couples retirement in 1967, they moved to Seminole. In 2000, she moved to the Nina Willingham Seniors Housing in Yukon. She enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends at the Dale Robertson Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Willard Harmon; one brother, Harold Barre; five sisters, Lucille Penix, Vera Cato, Marguerite Browning, Theresa Chappell and Louise Gamsjager; and one stepson, Willard “Bud” Harmon. She is survived by a half- brother, George Barre and wife, Sherry; three half sisters, Geraldine Sager, Barbara Diewald and husband Gil, and Dorothy Kidd; many nieces and nephews, great and great nieces and nephews and many, many dear friends.

Ricky Warden

Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident, Ricky Vaughn Warden are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Denise Arbuckle officiating. Wake services will be held Monday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole. Warden died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the age of 38 at Integris Health Center in Oklahoma City. He was born Nov. 27, 1965 in Seminole to Robert Carl Warden and Jeanette (Joseph) Factor. He worked for the City of Norman maintenance department. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and three uncles. Survivors include his parents, Jeanette (Joseph) Factor and Robert Carl Warden; five sons Merrick Vaughn Warden, Joshaua Warden, Jerron Warden, Chebon Warden and Harlon Warden, as well as one daughter, Deleana Warden, all of Clinton. He is also survived by three brothers, Ronald Russell Warden of Wichita, Kan., Michael Warden of Oklahoma City, Gary Dawn Warden, Donald Ray Factor of Enid and one sister, Stacy Bequer of Fayetteville, N.C.
