Funeral services for Cromwell resident Doyle Doss Dryden are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Wewoka, with Andy Young officiating. Interment is to follow at Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Doyle passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 at the age of 79 years in a Holdenville nursing home. He was born March 9, 1927 in Bromide, Okla. to Doyle W. and Agnes B. (Boatright) Dryden. He attended schools in Bromide, Stratford and Schoolton. Doyle married Juanita Blevins on Oct. 4, 1945 in Pauls Valley. He served in the United States Air Force and later worked as a truck driver for Seminole County. His parents, wife Juanita (June 16, 2006), two brothers, Donald Eugene Dryden and Luther William Dryden preceded him in death. Surviving are daughters, Peggy Ann and husband Andy Young of Bearden and Kathy Gail and husband Lonnie Shoemaker of Red Rock; two grandchildren, Tammy and husband Darrel Pedigo of Tonkawa and Jason Young of Columbia, Mo. and brother, Barney and wife Jacque Dryden of Cromwell.

Graveside services for Wewoka resident Bessie Carrie Irby are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Tate Mountain Cemetery with Palmer Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Irby, 96, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 in Holdenville. She was born March 20, 1910 in Stuart, Okla. to David and Belle (Towery) Choate. She attended Stuart Schools and later married Vernon Irby and was a homemaker. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Josephine Factor Hulsey, Tommy Factor, Dan Factor, Joycette Factor, Earl Dean Factor, Max Smith, Kale Smith, Bob Smith, Billie Dean Self, Jo Ellen Smith, Nita Kay Langdon and David Langdon and five great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Billy Joel Lee are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Valley Funeral Home, 6512 Guide Meridan, Linden, Wash. Billy passed away in a hospital Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 in Billingham, Wash. He was born Jan. 18, 1986 in Washington to Debbie Lee and Patrick McGee. He was a graduate of New Lima High School, Class of 2003. His grandmother, Rosie Lee of Washington, preceded him in death. Surviving is his mother, Debbie, and his stepfather, Patrick of Washington and numerous aunts, uncles and family.
Glen Bruner
Funeral services for Wewoka native and former resident Glen Alan Bruner are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Wewoka. Rev. L.R. Drinkwater of Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church of Oklahoma City will officiate. Interment is to follow at Westwood Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Wewoka. Bruner, 42, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was born July 21, 1964 in Wewoka to Nahum Ed Oscar Bruner and Roberta (Chatmon) Bruner. He attended Wewoka schools before moving to Oklahoma City. He later attended Okmulgee Tech where he received an associate's degree in diesel mechanics. Bruner also attended Platt College where he received an associate's degree in law enforcement. He was employed by Swift Trucking and J.B. Hunt Trucking, as an over the road driver. Bruner also worked as a security guard for a Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma City. Bruner served with the 10th Personnel Command during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Farewell. He also served during the Southwest Asia Campaign and with the United States Army Reserve. His father, one sister, Angelia, and three brothers, Oscar, Clinton Irving and Nahum Jr. preceded him n death. Surviving is his mother, Roberta Bruner of Oklahoma City; three sons, Glen Bruner Jr., Quinton Bruner and Cameron Atkins Bruner, all of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Olivia Nelson and Neshia Bruner, both of Oklahoma City and Keisha Davis of Indiana; four sisters, Lanetta Bruner Stevenson, Lavonne Bruner and Lovell Chilcote, all of Oklahoma City and Charlene Nichols of Wewoka; six brothers, Charles Bruner, Curtis Bruner, Hiawatha Bruner and Stephen Bruner, all of Oklahoma City, John Michael Bruner of Wewoka and Richard Bruner of Norman and three grandchildren.

Graveside services for Seminole resident Kelli Dawn Larney were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Larney Family Cemetery with Rev. Redman Wolf officiating. Services were under the direction of Stout-Philips Funeral Home, Wewoka. Larney, 33, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. She was born March 18, 1973 in Shawnee to William Roy and Sharletta Lea (Rich) Larney. She attended Varnum Schools and worked at Wal-Mart. Larney was of the Methodist faith. Her mother, grandfather Alvin Rich and grandmother Serena Larney preceded her in death. Surviving is her father, William Larney of Tulsa; three children, Sharlett Larney, Charles Larney and Christian Larney; two sisters, Karla Sesher and Coquesa Larney, both of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Darrin Lagrone and William Larney, Jr., both of Oklahoma City and one granddaughter. Pallbearers for the services were Irby Larney, Randolph Larney, David Walker, Gregory Jones, Harold Walker and Gerald Williams.

Graveside services for Wewoka native Jack Allen Richardson are schedule for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home. Richardson died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006 at the age of 71 years. He was born Feb. 1, 1935 in Wewoka to John H. and Elma Rose (Barnes) Richardson. He attended Seminole Schools and later became an electrician and married Margaret Peggy Gaylord in Oklahoma City. His parents and sister, Margie Brixley, preceded him in death. Surviving is his wife of the Tecumseh home; two sons, Jack Allen Richardson Jr. of Tecumseh and Kenneth Ray Richardson of Marlow; three daughters, Teresa Lynn Lee of Norman, Elaine Mullins of Tecumseh and Paula Loveless of Shawnee; two sisters, Dorothy Davis of Wewoka and Nancy Watson of Oklahoma City; four brothers, Harold Richardson of Shawnee, Donald Richardson and Roger Richardson, both of Oklahoma City and Billy Bob Richardson of Seminole; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for former Seminole resident Lois Anita Orsburn are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Way Church, Prague, with Starland Davis officiating. Interment is to follow at Yeager cemetery in Yeager under the direction of Parks brothers Funeral Service in Prague. Lois Anita Orsburn departed this life on Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 in Prague at the age of 85. Lois, the daughter of Virgil Lee and Mary Catherine (Nobles) Trammel, was born March 19, 1921 in Joplin, Mo. On Sept. 18, 1944 Lois married Fred Orsburn in Norman. Her husband, parents, three brothers, one sister, one daughter and one son preceded her in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cynthia Orsburn of Checotah and Kenneth and Sheila Orsburn of Locust Grove and daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Danny Iverson of Checotah, Sharon and Larry Whitlock of Seminole, Shirley and Ray Watson of Prague, Barbara and Van Alstine of Kansas and Vicki and Johnny Woods of Prague. In addition, Lois' grandchildren, Trina, Ginger, Chad, Daryl, Marsha, Bryan, Lois, Daniel, Charlotte, Michelle, Larry Jr., Jimmy, Mickey, Jachin and Boaz and great-grandchildren, Genesis, Summer, Lauryn, Brendan, Kennedy, Landon, Tyler, Latisha, Neesha, Kayle, Christopher, Cody, Dakota, Gage, Autumn, Kameron, Ty and C.J. survive her.
Weldon Willbanks
Funeral services for longtime Seminole resident Weldon C. Willbanks are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment is to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole. Willbanks, 83, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006 in Seminole. He was born Dec. 5, 1922 in Alvord, Texas to Tom C. Willbanks and Loveta (Limberg) Willbanks. He graduated from Frederick High School and attended a trade school in Pueblo, Colo. Willbanks served in the United States Army as a private during World War II and was a self employed rancher and welder. He married Alice Marie Willbanks on Feb. 20, 1956 in Castlerock, Colo. and she preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2002. Willbanks moved to Seminole in 1972 from Cortez, Colo. His parents and one brother, Fred C. Willbanks also preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons, Gary Willbanks of Bowlegs, Randy Willbanks of Seminole and Earl Willbanks of Riesel, Texas; four sisters, Ernestine Little of Scottsdale, Ariz., Imogene Schrick of Weatherford, Texas, Betty Kiker of Hereford, Texas and JoAnn Woods of Frederick; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services for Seminole native Leah Ann Larney Presley are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the home of Balerine Lasley, 216 W. 35th, Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee. Presley, 49 of Buffalo, Mo. died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007 at her home. She was born Dec. 3, 1957 in Seminole to Alex Larney Sr. and Balerine (Lasley). She was a home health care provider and member of the Seminole Tribe. Presley was baptized in the Methodist Hitchitee Church of Seminole. Her father and one brother, Alex Larney Jr. preceded her in death. Surviving is her mother, Balerine Lasley of Shawnee; two daughters, Ladina Larney of Shawnee and Christi Stone of Maud; four sons, Michael, Joseph and Matthew Stone, all of Springfield, Mo. and Andrew Stone of Aurora, Mo.; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jo Harjo of Shawnee, Teresa Larney of Konawa and Deborah Toney of Shawnee; one brother, Tim Larney of Franklin, Ill. and stepmother, Mary Larney of Konawa.
Corey Beckwith
Funeral services for former Seminole student Corey J. Beckwith are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, N.Y. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor Rural Cemetery, Taylor, N.Y. Beckwith, 35 of Taylor, N.Y., went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at his home. He was born June 1, 1971 in Cortland, N.Y. to Alan and Karol Smith Beckwith. He attended grade school in Seminole and was a 1990 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School in Cincinnatus. Beckwith was employed as a superintendent and a heavy equipment operator for Procon Construction Company in Vestal, N.Y. He was a member of the Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole, McGraw Sportsman's Club (McGraw, N.Y.) and the Sons of the American Legion post #973 (South Otselic, N.Y.). Corey truly enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his free time hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He would often spend time helping his friends or lending a hand to several local farmers. A loving husband, father, son and brother, he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Surviving is his wife, Paula; children, Arielle Emily, Cody James and Tyler Robert Beckwith; mother, Karol Hart of Plano, Texas. He also leaves behind his father, Alan (Linda) Beckwith of Willet, N.Y.; sisters, Dana (Charles) Holley of Seminole and Lindsey Beckwith of Willet, N.Y.; a brother, Raymond (Tracy) Smith of Willet; paternal grandmother, Veronica Beckwith of Taylor; maternal grandmother, Laura Smith of Cortland; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion, "Bud". Graveside services for Seminole native Gloria Jean "Sister" Tiger Davis are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Tiger Cemetery in Seminole. Services are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra, Texas. Davis, 73, of Electra, Texas died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was born Feb. 22, 1933 in Seminole to Edmund Tiger and Lucy McGirt Tiger. She had served in the United States Army as a cook and after her tour of duty; she raised her family and then received her LVN license. She was employed at the Bethania Hospital until her retirement in 1980. Davis was a former resident of Iowa Park, Texas and moved to Electra in 1990 where she was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ. She enjoyed the outdoors and bird watching. One grandson, James Edmund McGee, one brother, Jim Tiger and one sister, Eva Towery preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Karla Owen of Electra, Geraldine Hare of Freeland, Mich., Jolene Taylor of Lubbock, Texas and Jamie Kubicek of Electra; two sons, Amos Edmund Davis of Oklahoma City and Walter Lee Davis of Ft. Smith, Ark.; four brothers, Marland Tiger and Don Tiger, both of Seminole, Pembrook Tiger of California, and Randall Tiger of Shawnee; three sisters, Opal Cloud of Kansas, Nema Alderman of Wilburton, Okla., and Wanda Barber of Maude; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Freddie Pollard
Funeral services for Ardmore resident Freddie Merle Pollard are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Assembly of God with Rev. Dwain Duck, Rev. Dr. Walt Spradlin and Rev. Benny Boeck officiating. Interment is to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home and Cemetery, Ardmore. Pollard, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 in Ardmore. She was born May 13, 1914 in Provence, Okla. to Robert William Payne and Rosa Mae (Foreman) Payne. On Aug. 26, 1933 she married David Felix Pollard in Ardmore and he preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1985. Known as the "Ivory Lady," Pollard volunteered for 30 years at a nursing home ministry receiving the Distinguished Service award from Lakeland Nursing Home. At Crystal Rock Cathedral in 1993, she received Inspiration of the Year award and was named Mother of the Year for 2002 at Bethel Assembly of God, where she continued to attend until the time of her passing. Her parents; two grandchildren, Tammy Darlene Pollard and Hannah Pollard; two brothers, Earl Payne and Wayne Payne and one sister, Opal Fair, preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Coyce Pollard of Arlington, Texas, Dale Pollard of Ardmore and Gary Pollard of Seminole; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Bearers for the services will be Don Odle, Monroe White, Joe Reese, Don Jackson, Gale Jackson and Jim Matlock. Wake services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the family home with arrangements under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole. Harjo, 71, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at her home. She was born June 26, 1935 in Bowlegs to Jimpsey and Sally (Narcomey) Carbitcher. She married Johnson Harjo and he preceded her in death in November of 1991. She was a retired seamstress and homemaker. Her parents; husband; sons, Vincent Harjo and Christopher Daniels; sister, Saphornie Brown and brothers, Jimmy Carbitcher, Webster Wise, Andrew Wise-Talamsey and Babe Adams preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Raymond Harjo of Norman, Curtis Harjo of Maud and Darrin Harjo of Holdenville; four daughters, Phyllis Harjo of Bowlegs, Yolanda Harrison of Oklahoma City, Debra Emarthle of Roff and Lynda Harrison of Oklahoma City; two brothers; Lewis Wise of Bowlegs and James Billie of Florida; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Terry Wise, Jimpsey Carbitcher, Buffalo Hill, Eric Yahola, Ricky Harjo and Isiah Fixico. Honorary Bearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
